Usually during this kind of event/collab you make a reservation for a specific day and timeslot, you arrive and you order food and drinks that are supposed to be references to the franchise of the collab, and everytime you order something you get a random coaster or other collectibles. And then you have goods that are exclusive to this specific event. I went to an event for a yaoi manga last month and found out how that works for the first time, I was a bit confused and some Japanese fujoshi who went there alone just like me wanted to trade some coasters because they had the same ones several times from going there several times, it was fun. I saw some Japanese girls on twitter posting pictures of the FF16 collab and posting their food and coasters.
