He's a good costume for Mii Gunner, who is one of my favorite characters to play as and was really lacking decent costumes for a while. I think the only bad thing about the Cuphead representation in Smash is that I don't think Floral Fury is the best song they could've used, and hey maybe they should've made a Mugman head and a blue shorts body as well.
If he got in he should be a 2D character like Mr. Gay Man Watch
Byleth is cool. The problem was how there was too much bloat with the FE characters.
He's a 1-hit wonder. Why would he deserve to be in a pantheon of characters like Mario, Sonic, and Simon Belmont? These remarkable single game indies are lucky they got costumes.

Rivals of Aether Workshop has a good cuphead mod character if that helps ease the pain.
Nah, they were too new and already lucky to get Mii Costumes as a result. Next game would be the soonest to expect a full fighter, and even then I don't know if the IP has enough of a future to sway Nintendo to greenlight it.
