After my "BotW" argument got sunk, Fortnite was my only backup comparison. I can't stand Legends Arceus as it's only liked by adults. And to think the true fans of gen 5 - present were kids from all those gens this whole time.
Peopem who enjoy the games play them, finish them, and then just play either another pokemon game or something else. People who don't enjoy the games force their way into early discussion (usually without playing the games) until others give up, and then are left with just trying to convince themselves they were right this time.
Even though 9 was worse than 8, which was worse than 7, which was worse than 6, which was worse than 5, the last good gen, I'm confident 10 will reverse the trend. As bad as 9 is, and it's a dumpster fire, they at least tried something different. It shows they know something is wrong and they're putting in effort to fix it. It's misguided effort that's making the games worse, but it's effort none the less.

Literally your only hope is that Nintendo by some miracle buys the rest of the company and gives it to devs who care or TPC realizes GameFreak isn't up to the task of making modern videogames and they hire another company which isn't going to happen. GameFreak could be developing Pokemon on the PS5 and they'd still manage to make it look and run like shit.

as long as sales are strong there is little top down incentive to put more effort in. at the same time the GF staff clearly want to work on other projects than Pokemon because who the frick wants to work on the same thing over and over and over again for years on end with increasingly stressful timelines to shit out unnecessary uninspired entries in the series
