If they can actually have the dock give a decent performance boost this time I'm fine with that. Even if it's sold seperately.
The switch 2 will not be as strong as a Steam Deck what are these idiots smoking?
I get much better framerates on my deck than the ps4 does. The 400 dollar deck model also came out more than a year ago. I don‘t think it‘s unreasonable that a new switch could be as powerful even with the nintendo tax
It's not unreasonable at all. Shitty budget 350 dollar laptops are as strong as a ps4 now.
>I get much better framerates on my deck than the ps4 does.
>800p 6" screen
I'm sure you do, anon.
I'm all for higher framerates, and I always get stuff on PC for this alone, but I genuinely think only try-hards obsess over it. Like, how is 30fps obtrusive in a bing bing wahoo game? Framerate was the last thing on my mind when I played Odyssey.
I don't care. I want a minimum of 60 fps in everything. I don't care if it's a slow-paced, mostly nothing-happening turn-based card game. I want 60 in everything.
You will never get that on any console. No matter how powerful hardware gets, westurd devs will always prioritize graphics. If they can choose between 60fps and .1% better graphics with 30fps, they will choose the latter.
Pretty sure more japanese games are 30fps than western
I know. It's why I mainly play on PC but I also like Nintendo games.
I want that too anon, sadly, videogames are not charity and devs and marketers know very well that pretty graphics is much easier to market and sell to people than framerate
Odyssey runs at 60.
The switch will have half the battery and its games will run twice as long. It will under no circumstance have the wattage to match 8th gen consoles.
you realize that arm chips run less wattage than their x86 counterparts right? it could very well have that performance.
They're way more efficient, they're still not faster than a console with 125 watts from a wall outlet.
Deck released last year and costs easily a hundred dollars more than Switch 2.
Effectively the games will run better than on Deck because of optimization and possibly DLSS
>Deck released last year and costs easily a hundred dollars more than Switch 2.
What? The switch oled is 350 dollars, a deck is 400 and this is the price it launched with. Anything below Steam Deck specs would be pathetic
>the cheapest Deck costs only $50 more than the most expensive Switch
>this somehow proves my point
tendies will buy it anyway
isn't it already outdated by competition?
The SteamDeck is literally weaker than current gen flagship smartphones and is about to get dumpstered by next gen ones coming out in the next 6 months. The Steam Deck is incredibly weak hardware
>The SteamDeck is literally weaker than current gen flagship smartphones
XD
Fricking pajeets.
That's fricking moronic, I saw the same argument for the Switch when it came out.
It's moronic because no matter what smartphones do NOT CONTAIN a real way to dissipate the heat like the Switch, Steam Decks and other portable PCs do.
Make this post again when a smartphone is able to dissipate the heat and people can tolerate their phones going WHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIR on the middle of the train.
Depends. Nintendo works in partnership with Nvidia which means next Switch may have something like DLSS 2 at very least. Also Deck is running on X86 which are less power efficient than chips on ARM architecture.
DLSS on hardware that weak is a scam. You're almost always CPU limited anyway.
Makes sense when you consider the switch is about as powerful as a ps3
He specifically said under oath he doesn't know the specs moron. He was just assuming. Unless you think he lied to the judge which will mean prison time.
> assuming OP was the person who wrote the article...
>Taking Bobby Kotick's words at face value
Nah I will believe it when I see it.
But...ps4 is 11 years old that can't even handle 1080p at 30fps
Switch 2 will have dlss and probably still target 720p in handheld. If their games are still 30fps it would be pathetic
Obviously the games will still be 30fps for the most part but at least they'll be stable with upscaling. Even next gen consoles are still doing 30fps
>Even next gen consoles are still doing 30fps
I can‘t think of any PS5 games that don‘t have 60fps options
Most performance options still struggle to hit 60fps even with the downgraded visuals and lower resolution
30 fps is a dev issue not a hardware one. They would target 30 fps even if the switch 2 was a million times stronger than what's available today. It would not matter in the slightest they could and would find ways to make it run like shit.
What are you even trying, Erictroony?
kotick said he didn't know the specs, he's speculating
the absolute state of gaming "journalism"
>on par with last gen consoles notorious for being underpowered
tendiebros...
If Nintendo can AT LEAST make sure their exclusives and first-party games all run at 60fps it's fine and will immediately destroy the emulation scene completely!
But they won't.
I certainly hope they do something else this time
I get it's probably a handheld again but even Steam Deck is essentially an underclocked PS5. That should be the base minimum from a dedicated video games company these days.
The deck would be amazing if it was an underclocked PS5 but no it isn't. It's a PS4 tier portable.
Jesus Christ the deck is just a ps4 with a somewhat better CPU not a handheld PS5
Hopefully it's closer to a PS4. It'll still be underclocked but at least it won't be totally terrible. They are gonna rely heavily on AMDs FSR upscaling.
So nintendo just wants to buy older gen parts to spend as little money possible while letting Sony and Microsoft do the jumps for no dev to be able to program games correctly while letting them burn their investments. Seems like a win to me.
>believes
It's not fricking happening. How many times are you moronic tendies going to make it his thread? There is no switch 2.
>There is no switch 2.
Heh. Snöy will lose their 3rd generation in a row to underpowered Nintendo hardware.
We already know they're making it and companies like Activision get early access to put their games on it. They're obviously gonna want to port OW2 on it and Epic is gonna wanna optimize fortnite for it asap
>on par
>"almost as powerful"
Reading comprehension.
Makes sense to me considering that most games in 2023 are still being made for the PS4 and Xbox Series S.
No reason to try and cram a PS5 or SeX into a tablet if devs aren't bothering with it.
>OLED 1.3 Ultimate Pro Master Gold Super Edition
lel, tendiecucks
Devs cant get their games to run well on beefy pcs. So who cares? Cyberpunk, Dead space, Jedi 2. Re4’s hair setting breaks the game.
Nintendo games usually run great in their hardware. My only complaint is sometimes its 30fps, but the middle of the ps and xbox console generations gives that. Starfield is going to be a broken mess at 30fps
I'm glad
It means my machine will be able to emulate Switch 2 too
Idk PS4 is barley at the sperm stage of emulation.
Can someone explain to me why Sony didn't made portable version of PS4?
You didn't buy the vita or the psp
Reminder the Switch is LEGALLY better than the PS5
>main title acts like Activision/Blizzard knows what nintendos next console will be.
>bottom text is says that they theorize that it will be.
I hate this kind of shit.
