The main problem really is now that there's handheld PCs they need SOMETHING to get people to buy a switch 2 that isn't just Nintendo games. Cause all the switch games can just be emulated.
So they need to figure out some sort of way to play steam games as well
Do you think the average person knows how to emulate. People can barely work computers as it is. Hell even the switches current demographic (zoom zoom) are just iPad babies. They are even worse with technology than the boomers
Deck has barely sold 3 million total, Switch is still selling 5x that in a year. If the Deck ever wants to take off as a real console instead of a Gaben's mechanical cumsock then it needs to have actual games and be stocked on the shelves of stores around the world, rahter than mail order in like 10 countries.
The vast majority of people who own shitendo consoles do not give a frick about performance. They care about the games. Regardless of how shit this company is, actual good games will sell the switch 2. Not tflops or DLSS or frame rates.
Everyone I've added to my friends list on my Switch has 1000+ hours in Youtube. The Switch was a huge success because it's also a "safe" tablet you can give to your kids.
>The Switch was a huge success because it's also a "safe" tablet you can give to your kids.
The literal first time ive heard this comparison. I think there was a switch demographics chart published somewhere and the switch was most popular with young adults and not kids, funnily enough.
don't expect to have a productive, unbiased conversation with a pc cultist. the nintendo derangement syndrome runs through them deeper than anyone else
>the system power will be used differently to achieve better results
It is just going to be DLSS upscaling and maybe framegen if they backport it to work on the Ampere gpu in the supposed Tegra chip they are going to use.
The deck is already too weak for newer games. That would be suicide, that's actually how Nintendo loses because the Switch library is already full of ports of nearly every game that missed Nintendo systems for a decade.
The deck is massive and nintendo always aims cheap with significant profit margins, you combine these things and its impossible for the switch to match even 3 or 4 year old hardware.
People just like having a handheld they can play PC games on, even if it's not pocketable. Plus you can plug it into a monitor and use it as a desktop PC. If you don't play demanding stuff you can basically replace your setup with it.
Personally I hope they make a smaller version, although since they want to use off the shelf components that's probably not happening.
Portable /= pocketable. A laptop's portable even though it's not portable. I think mainly people like PC gaming anywhere not just behind the desk. And it's about the same price as a low end desktop anyway so if you don't wanna buy something expensive might as well get it I guess.
Everyone knows Nintendo's consoles follow a pattern of good-bad-good-bad. Wii was good, Wii-U was bad, Switch was good, Switch 2 will be bad. It's ordained by fate itself.
This. All they have to do is to have a couple truly atractive 1st party exclusives early on and keep a steady flow of third party games and ports to fill in the gaps.
Main issue with non deck handhelds is you need to push 30w+ of power to get ahead of the deck in framerates. The deck gives more at the 15-20w mark making a better portable handheld over them.
You morons cry about never getting optimization but when nintendo finally does it you scream for more ai generated pixels.
This will unironically be the PS2 of this generation.
dedicated consoles since SNES days and before have always used computer specs different compared to PC. I thought this was known and dont know why many PC gamers find this difficult to understand
If it is anything like other Nintendo emulators it will contain a lot of stuff that shares with the last gen console. Some examples being Yuzu started as a Citra fork and Dolphin was modified to work for wii titles.
The main issue is more that using Yuzu's code is basically a legal landmine and Ryujinx is C# which most emu devs don't normally use.
> i piss on you
we know you do that every day on your shit river before drinking from it, Ranjeesh, but normal people have normal water and pcs that can emulate tendie shit
die and take your entire village with you
Switch 2 releases less powerful than the steamdeck. Six months later Steam Deck 2 comes out with an extremely competitive price point compared to switch 2 with specs that brutally mock the switch 2. Since scalpers will be hoarding it for the first year it will be easier to get a Steam Deck 2 at launch. hmm I spend $450 MSRP but double the price from the scalpers to get the switch 2. Or spend $600 to get a steam deck 2. Really isn't going to be hard choice.
I'm saying it won't be successful. I would bet my left nut that will mog both the PS5/XSX in sales. For me personally, I'm definitely not picking one up.
This. Creativity flourishes best when constrained by its medium. Art peaked when sculptures and paintings had to be done by hand. Music was best when musicians had to play on real instruments. Movies were at their peak when directors couldn't rely on GCI. Same is true for Video Games.
I agree but 3rd party devs aren't going to want to deal with that, it's legitimately how Nintendo loses 3rd party support again if it's backwards compatible because most publishers have already put decades worth of titles on the Switch.
Please don't use the word "sister" in your OP if your thread has nothing to do with siblings. Thank you!
Sisterbros... how do we cope?!
Good morning sir.
The amount of cope and seethe is just unreal
This has been happening for 20 years at this point. The tendie hardware cope cycle is as old as the sonic cycle.
I mean power isn't the switch's selling point. It's not really the deck's selling point either but whatever
The main problem really is now that there's handheld PCs they need SOMETHING to get people to buy a switch 2 that isn't just Nintendo games. Cause all the switch games can just be emulated.

A dual system. A windows or steamos partition that can play steam games behind the same front end
homie what? How are the Switch 2 games gonna be emulated immediately? The hardware isn't based on something that's already been cracked wide open.
Do you think the average person knows how to emulate. People can barely work computers as it is. Hell even the switches current demographic (zoom zoom) are just iPad babies. They are even worse with technology than the boomers
Yep because that's definitely slowed down Switch sales
Deck has barely sold 3 million total, Switch is still selling 5x that in a year. >switch was most popular with young adults
That's right, first console I bought for myself.

Oh, so it will have PC's library?
No?
>No?
Well, no. The PC's library consists of what? TF2? Yuro sims? Dead MMOs?
+emulators + GOTY candidates like Pizza Tower and Armored Core 6. Yeah, I'd say its a solid lineup.
Meanwhile creams itself from 360p 20fps ports of Doom and Witcher.
The deck is already too weak for newer games. That would be suicide, that's actually how Nintendo loses because the Switch library is already full of ports of nearly every game that missed Nintendo systems for a decade.
>I-It's ok that it's not as powerful, and here's why
lmao
Not as powerful as a system this old.
Nintendo really doesn't get it.
There's no source for that claim. It's random idiots speculating to drive up engagement on their articles.
>Steam Deck vs Switch
>298 mm × 117 mm × 49 mm
>208mm x 91.1mm x 13.9mm
>1.475 lb
vs
>0.6 lb
The deck is massive and nintendo always aims cheap with significant profit margins, you combine these things and its impossible for the switch to match even 3 or 4 year old hardware.
This the Deck is literally 3 times more heavy than the Switch and uses more than 2-3 times more power in Watts.
>The Steam Deck is over twice the price and size/weight of the switch
>it is the most heavy "portable" device
I don't understand the deck cult

>even if it's not portable
Ok, but why are we pretending it's in the same category as the Switch?
Portable /= pocketable. A laptop's portable even though it's not portable. I think mainly people like PC gaming anywhere not just behind the desk. And it's about the same price as a low end desktop anyway so if you don't wanna buy something expensive might as well get it I guess.

what a woke way of thinking
that literally makes no sense
who cares i love the switch and i will buy a better switch
lol
This. All they have to do is to have a couple truly atractive 1st party exclusives early on and keep a steady flow of third party games and ports to fill in the gaps.
It was never about power.
What's your source?
Also the deck is relatively weak even compared to its peers like the Lenovo one and the Asus Rog
Main issue with non deck handhelds is you need to push 30w+ of power to get ahead of the deck in framerates. The deck gives more at the 15-20w mark making a better portable handheld over them.

Its unironically game over for Microsoft if Switch 2 is as powerful as Series S
>wont matter
Im tired of playing games sub 30fps
just look how gimped totk had to be just to run
people that say literal have autism
literally
add literally to your filters to get rid of the dumbest posts
frick you
Bros can't we live in peace? I thought we were all PC + Switch gamers.
nintendie cope
so basically i'll be able to emulate switch 2 as long as my pc is at least mid
kek, thanks nintendo
So I guess I wont need to upgrade from my Rog Ally in order to play the Switch 2 then. That's good news.
the new console wont be emulated for at least a decade
you can screenshot this
i piss on you
something tells me that we're going to end up with another gamecube->wii situation.
There hasn't been a Nintendo console ever that has taken that long to be emulated, so you are already full of shit.
If it is anything like other Nintendo emulators it will contain a lot of stuff that shares with the last gen console. Some examples being Yuzu started as a Citra fork and Dolphin was modified to work for wii titles.
The main issue is more that using Yuzu's code is basically a legal landmine and Ryujinx is C# which most emu devs don't normally use.
it'd be hilarious if that's the reason they went after yuzu, because they knew it was going to work for the switch 2 as well.
> i piss on you
we know you do that every day on your shit river before drinking from it, Ranjeesh, but normal people have normal water and pcs that can emulate tendie shit

No New Zelda No Buy
ill take ww and tp at launch at a bare minimum
No thanks. I already played those on Gamecube. New Zelda or no buy.
>Switch 2 won't be as powerful as the Steam Deck
Source?
Switch 2 releases less powerful than the steamdeck. Six months later Steam Deck 2 comes out with an extremely competitive price point compared to switch 2 with specs that brutally mock the switch 2. One is made by nintendo, one is not. This isn't a wii u situation, there is still demand for the switch as a concept
I'm saying it won't be successful. I would bet my left nut that will mog both the PS5/XSX in sales. For me personally, I'm definitely not picking one up.

>DUDE LE SPECIALIZED CONSOLE OS
lmao this meme was deboonked eons ago, what a poor cope
I cut my hand off, having one hand is really better than having 2 hands because i do things in different ways to possible achieve better results!
I have both devices, a switch and a steam deck. What am I to you, Ganker?
I don't know, some guy I guess
gay
no u
