Here's a few charts I made over the the sales of the Pokémon games for the Switch.
Some observations:
>LGPE was on the Top 10 Best Seller list for 3 years before falling off
>LGPE still managed to stay longer than BDSP
>PLA never made the Top 10
>39% of SwSh overall sales happened after its initial 1,5 months of release
Do you think the numbers are deserved, undeserved? Do you think SV will overtake SwSh as the best selling Pokémon Switch games, and if so how long will it take?

Let’s Go was for the 90s generation and Go players to enjoy with their kids. Simple entry game. Despite being a quick and easy thing, it’s also genuinely well made.
SV probably won’t overtake SwSh, due to the awful word of mouth and issues persisting a year onward. SwSh actually got decent reception on its DLC updates.
Legends is weird, I’ve known some people who thought it was a spin-off.
>SV probably won’t overtake SwSh, due to the awful word of mouth and issues persisting a year onward
It won't. It's not on the brink of anything, the sales are stagnating faster than with SwSh.
Anon, they're releasing DLC for the paired games, as well as a bundled box version of either game and its DLC pack for christmas. It absolutely will because it's going to get another huge fricking bump later in the year. Then all it has to do is sell decently for the remaining 2 years, likely outpacing SS long before that time period's up.
Made a tiny mistake for LGPE in June 2022, fixed here.
What is surprising to me is that LGPE not stagnating at all in sales despite having had next to no updates besides getting Home compatibility. It was literally outperforming SwSh at this time last year in terms of new sales before it fell off the charts due to total sales, despite having been out a year longer and having no DLC, added a graph for that too.
Oops
>legends isn't a spin off
I’m glad PLA flopped. BDSP was the better Sinnoh game with more love and care put into it and Pokefans voted with their wallets that they want more high quality games like that.
To be fair PLA wasn't a paired title and had a god-awful release window in January only two months after BDSP.
And still sold about 15m in 18 months. It only flopped, if you think bare basic numbers are the be-all and end-all. When you look at it from a per-games sold perspective, it's the series leader (RGB DID sell 31m. But 31m / 3 = 10.3333 recurring, meaning Legends 14.83m for one version's actually the best return for any project they've done to-date).
It's also not a mainline game, so who cares.
Define mainline
This it's any listed here, per Game Freak.
>pokemon quest is mainline
>pokémon quest made by Game Freak
>referenced directly in a core Pokéon game
>"n-nuh-huh"
You sperg fricker, that's the official nip pokémon site showing only "Pocket Monsters series" games. TPC DON'T run the show, they do what Game Freak tells them (else there would be no spin-offs as TPC would absolutely want them labelled under the main marque to make them fricking sell). And Game Freak told them Quest is canon to their universe (likely because they got asked to make a spin-off and decided they weren't making any non-canon pokémon games). Piss and moan all you want, all I'm doing is relaying the info they put up freely as they see it.
>pokémon quest made by Game Freak
>referenced directly in a core Pokemon game
Wow just like Legends Arceus.
>all that sperging
Normally I would consider this bait but you sound genuinely upset.
PLA is mainline, yes.
Save it, they want to win the internet argument, they don't want to be right.
We agree. It’s clear you’re not
Ity's guaranteed to outsell SS at this stage.
>10m 3-day sales vs 6.5m
>20m 6-week sales vs 16.5m
>now sitting at 22.6m, while SS took two years to break that mark
No new Gen until 2026, which means no replacing the VGC-staple game until 2026, thus no impact on sales until 2026.
>200 000 - 400 000 people has been buying LGPE every 3 months for 3 years
What the frick.
4 years anon, 4 years.
LGPE is actually a well-made game
KANTOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
It’s Yellow but made for toddlers.
>It’s Yellow but made for toddlers.
And it's made well.
Just because you can ride a shitmon doesn’t absolve the game from all its issues.
None of those issues matter to its target demographic (children and GO players).
>children don’t have standards
Hello gamefreak employee.
What are the issues that you and these toddlers share?
Children don't care that the game doesn't have wild battles.
Children don't care that the game doesn't have non-Kanto pokemon.
Children don't even realize that the game doesn't have natures and abilities.
>implying kids ever had standards
Only one of these sold more than 2 million.
>kids spent their money on RS instead of minish crap and hamtaro shovelware
they really do have standards
Thanks for proving my point.Kids don't give a frick the graphics aren't up to mid-twenties manchild standards, just as you didn't give a frick RS looked like a SNES game in the era of the Playstation/Xbox.
GTA IV and V sold to kids basically solely on its graphics.
Who plays GTA for the graphics? You play GTA to frick around and kill hookers.
GTA IV was pretty good looking, and GTA V had a cartoony atmosphere.
Because Ruby Sapphire was handheld
LGPE's issues aren't the graphics, in recent times that and the following mons are exclusively what people praise the game for
It gave us Green at least
>It’s Yellow but made for toddlers.
Little amuses the innocent anon. You know that.
I believe that swsh sold well because people decided to buy switch with this game, but now the hype is down
