The engine can't magically increase hardware capabilities.
I'm running i7-13700K and RTX 4090 with 32gb RAM, b***h. Ultra settings in that screenshot btw.
Well how does it run you jackass? What's your framerate/FPS?
Around 60fps but with frequent dips to 40 or below.
They've already dismantled one Codemasters studio and merged the remains into Criterion.
>Around 60fps but with frequent dips to 40 or below.
on this tech;
>i7-13700K and RTX 4090 with 32gb RAM
Pathetic, Unreal 5 is a joke. Thank you snoys for promoting movie games and graphic whoring the industry into the third dark age.
It's Unreal 4. UE5 must be even worse.
>Give dev a sandbox with a bunch of tools to make your own sandcastle
>dev makes a dogshit sandcastle
>"WTF this sandbox and its tools are completely ass!!" - moronic Ganker children
Nothing in OP's post implied this you schizo.
The devs are responsible for the graphical fidelity, moron.
And? Did OP claim otherwise you illiterate c**t?
He's complaining about the graphics and blaming it on the engine you mongoloid.
No he isn't, he's quoting the developers.
All UE4-5 games look like fricking garbage. The last good looking UE game was Arkham Knight which was running on heavily modified UE3. But even that ran like shit.
>EA
What did you expect?
Codemasters are next on the chopping block.
>acquire developer
>acquire expensive license
>delete both
EA aren't THAT stupid.
They literally did this many times before.
Name 5 times.
Bullfrog
Westwood
Origin Systems
Pandemic
Playfish
Now have a nice day, newbie zoomer c**t.
in a better reality, EA puts out a stellar Theme Park game every 3 years
Name 5 more cuck
Bet you can't
Refer to this post and then ack yourself.
Not a single studio survived EA assimilation process. All the talent leaves within a couple of years after acquisition.
>Origin
>Westwood
>Mythic
>Bullfrog
>Maxis
>Bioware
>Pandemic
>Viceral
>DICE
only epic and clueless consolgays say that. everyone knows unreal engine is bottom tier slop.
i bet the spectators teeth are riveting though
>they said

>playing on an xbox controller
kys immediately
I'm playing on a wheel, moron. You can clearly see the mapping in the screenshot.
>rally game thread gets actual posts
yep, this is real and organic
It looks pretty good, and it runs better than DR2. If VR will be anyhow near as performant as flat mode, I dig it. Also, god damn, finally new rally content, all of the new stages, couple of new cool cars, I'm really happy this game dropped.
>It looks pretty good, and it runs better than DR2.
>UE
>VR
Anon, I...
what? ue handles VR like it's nothing, I even have a bunch of UE5 VR projects and they were all as easy as selecting vr start scene and getting the right plugin. there's even a guy who wrote ue4/5 VR injector because apparently doing that to non-vr games is as easy as injecting the right libraries and then stitching the game together to use the right player actor thingy
No company using UE4/5 has gotten VR to work properly in a racing game ever.
AC Competizione works perfectly fine for me.
Meanwhile DR2 runs at 100+ FPS on much older hardware.
>muh longer stages
One of the tings that really annoy me is the smear/ghosting of shadows or dark, moving objects in Unreal. I've seen people complain about it in different games and the devs said that its a "quirk" of the engine and there's nothing that can be done about it. Once you notice it you can't unsee it and its really fricking ugly and distracting.
Pic related, its the shadow of a helicopter.
Check if it's not just TAA, because this looks like TAA artifact.
It's a TAA or DLSS (or both) artifact. It's insane to me that devs still do this shit a fricking decade after UE4's release. And I know it's not really an engine problem because there are games that don't do this and look better.
>Check if it's not just TAA
not him but some games are designed around TAA and if you turn it off or switch to a different AA method it WILL make your eyes bleed. In layman terms, the base sharpness of the game is turned so high up you need the smoothing effect to be playable and bearable on the eyes.
I wish I were joking but that's the case in some UE games.
I know and it's sad because TAA is trash.
welcome to temporal effects
>and there's nothing that can be done about it
I wish to the creator of taa cancer in the balls
>caring so greatly about graphics in the first place
>dude unreal engine!
>let's make a game with it, if it sucks just blame unreal engine LMFAO!
kys op
I'm so mindbroken I literally dont care about assthetics or graphics any more. I just want good optimisation, not amazing, just good would be enough.
It's a nice piece of vidya. Graphics look just fine, not too dramatic, but definitely far from ugly, plus it's not like you have time to appreciate graphics in rally games where you hyperfocus on not dying all the time. Content variety is great, lots of stages, lots of new cars and classes. Gonna have fun for quite some time with all of that.
Though i was disappointed to hell and beyond when i realized that setting stages in winter season does not mean there will be snow in snowy countries, that was bullshit. Webm related is how winter in finland looks like, apparently.
>that shimmering
oof
That's how Finland looks like in the summer
>reading comprehension
>reading comprehension
come on anon, it was obvious that this one is a confirmation and not a counter-argument
>it was obvious
>joke comprehension
>it was le joke
>t. sim autist who doesn't know Finnish climate
>that's how finland looks like in winter
You're either trolling or moronic. Which?
>aaaaaaaaawwwwwwwww you are le "insult" or le "insult". Which?
the driving looks exactly like DR2, lmao. this is now the 2nd time they advertised vast, sweeping improvements to the driving physics while barely changing a bunch of fudge values in the code from DR1
wasn't dirt rally 1 better in a bunch of ways?
Pretty much, Dirt Rally 1 is still one of the best rally games ever made since RBR
When was the last time EA made a genuinely good game? Dead Space 2?
I liked Battlefield 1
I will take this over some shit graphics from in-house engine
Car games are so fricking lame, why would you want to drive a car in a video game (which you can do in real life) instead of being a mighty paladin slaying dragons and shit?
I can't drive those cars and stages in real life, though
>sticking a sword in pretend big lizards is cooler than controlling absolute legendary god machines on their limit
no it's not
>which you can do in real life
i did lowest tier of amateur rally IRL (which is really more of conegayging) and i went out of money after two events. i hit race tracks every now and then, but overall, sim racing (or even just less-sim-ish cool car vidya like dirt rally) is not a direct replacement for driving, it's something you enjoy alongside each other
Robocop is UE5 and while it's "AA" game it runs pretty horribly too and looks strange.
Vidya has regressed so much it's unreal (lmao).
Take a look at the graphics of the games made at the start of UE4...then take a look at the games made near the end of that engines lifecycle. Things will only get better
Who's "they"?
Qui? QUI?
>play "racing" game
>in modern day 500hp sports car
>it takes like 20 seconds to reach 200 even if you floor it
>my 300hp Cadillac goes from 0 to 90 in 3 seconds if I accidentally fart near the pedal
>smash the breaks
>car just casually slows down like I'm holding the clutch and lightly taps the break
>homie what? fricking break
>"spins out for no reason"
>??????????
Why do I need to learn a new set of rules just because its a videogame, especially when the developers brag about some gay physics engine, and their fricking realism?
Call it fantasy racing or "mario kart clone" if the cars aren't gonna work like in real life.
And you gays care about graphics.
>be moron
>have moronic thoughts that are moronic
>wail away at keyboard until it BRAKES
>be (You)
frick off moron
hope you're not talking about DR/WRC, because all three of those games have absolutely bullshit OP braking, brakes slow the car down to the point where it feels like magic
>racing game
>visual fidelity focus is on the cars
>shit pants over random decorations you'll only see as a blur looking unimpressive when you still frame it
