Is it? I got bored during the first game and only made it a couple missions in. Made it to the mission where the subway station is blown up and everything's on fire and I got so bored I had to quit. Found the movement and combat to be lacking, and I wasn't a fan of the "go over the entire map with a fine toothed comb over and over to find the one thing you need to progress" level design.
Playstation games are shit. Polygons suck.
Hasn't aged well, mechanics suck, graphics are rough, even with up scalers.

The subway station level is really boring but it gets better after that. If you don't want to play 1 again I suggest playing 2, it's my favorite in the series.
Also movement is not that bad, you just need to get used to various combinations of straffing+d-pad and movement becomes very responsive.
Majestic games. Totally amazing if you're not a moron. Feels like a mix of tomb raider and mgs gameplay wise and the campy b movie plot is perfect. Also tasers
I was just thinking that. These games are so good, are sold well enough back then but they're pretty much forgotten now. Doesn't help that they didn't know what to do once PS1 was over, like with Crash Bandicoot.
Syphon Filter 2 is there in top20 ps1 games ever imo and 3 is okay too and the minigames are fun for a while. Played thru these again not so long ago except I didn't touch the first one yet.

>They do
No they don't >why do you people insist on talking about new shit
It was just as much an invitation to talk about the platforming elements of siphon filter and other tps of the era you fricking sperg
This is my first time seeing the NTSC box art for 3. What the frick is that? Looks like Sylvester Stallone crossed with Donald Trump taking a shit.
The games are amazing though, each one built and improved on the previous (even though 2 is my favourite)
The headshot meter. The 1v1 splitscreen. The tazing people until they caught fire. The SOUL.
No
t.Syphon
heh
>filtered
>Syphoned
>I don't like action games
Okay!
shooters on consoles are just a terrible idea
He's right though, Syphon a shit.
This. It's Sony slop.
Which one do I start with?
They have numbers anon, is not hard to figure out.
But are they good?
I like them
Better than Metal Gear & Golden Eye.

>he couldnt find the cache of explosives
>I got so bored I had to quit
That says far more about your attention span and dismal IQ than it does about the game.
Isnt the subway station the second level in the game? Brain fried moron.
it is, I just played it and had a wicked fun time.
That anon is a rat brain moron
I never played the third one.

Imagine not having memories playing Syphon Filter with your friends. Core memories.
I know right. Eating onion and grilled cheese sandwiches while deathmatching away in the maze - priceless.
For me it was foster freezes double bacon cheese burger deluxe, fries and a coke
>onion and grilled cheese sandwiches
make me one bro
No wonder you turned out to be an onions boy
I really liked the bgm in the cathedral lab missions in the first game.

>up scalers
Ah, there's your problem.
most underrated ps1 series. i dont remember much about the third game though, so im not sure if it was as good
I’ve only played 1 and I loved it but the sequels must’ve been just as good if they kept coming back to back even on the PS2.
I like that the whole trilogy has the same consistent look and feel. 1 is the best, 2 is nearly as good, and 3 is a little behind but still good
>grading a Greatest Hits edition
Why would you do this?
Greed
it is in fact the original release with a greatest hits label over the wrapper

I was filtered on the junkyard mission. Which one is it?

Frick Chance all my homies hate Chance, the biggest Dickhead in video games before Eric Sparrow in THUG.
>He's completely covered in high-impact kevlar armor - even grenades

Frick I remember this, it filtered me for a hot minute
>tps with platforming
Why don't they do this anymore?
They do, but why do you people insist on talking about new shit
This is /vr/

I remember the castle levels in the first game being really cool. Also the stealth mission at the museum.

Dat Lian Xing
One thing I liked in the Omega Strain, is the create-your-own-agent aspect.
I can definitely fap to Jungle Aramov. Goddamn. I don't remember that in the game.
these are atrocious
the taser in 1 is one of the funnest video game weapons of all time
?si=g1EVdAVQ0CbCVhCP
>tfw you get sniped with a high voltage 90s taser by special forces from the roof of a 3 story building.
Dark mirror on the PSP was fricking kino
Love this series. BUT I do have a soft spot for 3rd person action games where you play as an agent or spy.
Based. Same reason I enjoy that shitty Action Man game on PS1 that nobody ever talks about. Hidden gem.
Yup, same with One and and Bruce Willis games.
I remember spending hours playing the demo of the first game. Never played any of them after that.
Same. Frying enemies on the rooftops with the tazer until they combust was fun.
