Games like Gauntlet Legends are actually playable since they're so dark you can't see shit.
I think its because most people were using shitty TVs with RF connectors so the knowledge was just not common enough. And then if you got a better quality TV that had s-video you were just happy with the upgrade to a non shit TV instead of fussing about cables

You should get a better s-video cable. That one has some nasty crosshatch patterning. I recommend Insurrection Industries s-video cable.

You mean composite video anon. VGA is actually better than S-video but pretty much only for computer monitors (the blue plug).
My bad, but it does split the signal to get better lights and darks.
