Why would you rename a studio if you're going to close it down anyway?
Get their stuff.
Get their IPs.
Get their data and knowledge.
israelite things.
take 2 can't stop winning
Is Randy out of a job?
No, Randy is now a take 2 executive worth about half a billion dollars in shares, and will maintain his creative role and control of gearbox.
Please mean layoffs please mean layoffs pleeeease.
Duke Nukem by rockstar games let's fricking GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
take two are basically the worst publisher out there, fighting activision for most soulless, greedy shitheads, feel bad for gearbox a little but it's not like they make good games anymore
WB Games says hi.
WB had a few decent titles they mostly left alone. They also got the idea relatively quickly when shadow of war players started kicking them in the balls.
They've been trash lately, but they've still got awhile to go before they're on take-two's level.
Yeah. Thank god I no longer care about Borderlands 2 anymore otherwise it would suck having it locked behind the Rockstar Social Club launcher.
Not to mention them constantly taking down mods for games like classic GTA.
All I care about Remnant there, so no changes is good since last game was good. I wan't to plow Tina's tiny dicky but don't need shitty cuckford humor for that
frick Rockstar
frick T2 especially
Still feels like too much money even if it's for the Borderlands franchise. The later games didn't do that well and that upcoming movie is looking to do just as bad.
>The later games didn't do that well
moron alert
ok randy. you're a very special person now please let do some talking. ok kiddo
not an argument cult member
>Take 2 gets Homeworld
FRICK
They will fricking destroy any semblance of SOUL that company had left
Reminder that Embracer bought out Gearbox for 1.3 billion dollars only 3 years ago.
honestly only losing half of that is an accomplishment.
Randy won.
I'd say they got fricked but they don't have Gearbox any more so really Embracer won in the end.
>Buy for 1.3 billion dollars in cash
>Sell for 460 million dollars in shares
Smart
This is probably going to keep happening. Turns out buying up all the IPs hoping to cash in on it didn't work now that it takes 7+ years to release a game and they all flop.
Definitely. Embracer was acquiring all this stuff when borrowing money was effectively free. Now interest rates are through the roof and their deal with Saudi Arabia collapsed. Now it's a fire sale for any IP worth a damn.
Maybe this is a good thing, though. If this causes a downward spiral then perhaps at the end of it all the original devs and producers could buy up their old IPs for pennies on the dollar and we could see a change to a smaller more reasonable industry. Spending a billion for a single publishing brand would work only if they could go back to releasing 20 games a year with an operating budget of 6 million per game while making sales figures of 250-350k per title. But even then it would take years and you'd have to never flop before you recouped your losses.
What were these idiots thinking? This is the crap that got Linux Tech Tips in trouble. Thinking they could spend 10 million on a lab without realizing they'd have to drop 50 videos a week to even break even.
Swedes are born to be awful fricking businessmen. Must be the lack of sunlight up there stunting the development of their IQs.
I wonder if this will affect homeworld 3
I'm surprised that game didn't get released as of now
Insane to think an /agdg/ game is now owned by Take Two
but what does it mean in non-hebrew?
when do i get nuke nukem?
is randytard out on the street?
I remember seeing the take two logo back when I was playing borderlands
weren't they already publishing those games anyway or something?
Reminder, Sony spent $3.7 Billion on Bungie
And they'll never recoup that. Ever.
Rip in rest risk of rain mods
