>takes a frame, shuffles a couple pixels, puts it in between the real frames
>LOOK GUYS WE DOUBLED THE FRAME RATE
>takes a 720p frame, stretches it and fills in the blanks
>LOOK GUYS WE DOUBLED THE RESOLUTION
Why is this allowed?

because morons buy it up and it allows devs to stop caring about optimizations
okay post your fricking mensa score you fricking moron. you're just some 14 year old kid parroting some fricking stupid ass shit. "optimization". are you fricking kidding me. you could blame that on any new thing ever made. there's new tech available and people take advantage of it. has been happening since fricking 1000000 bce. some homosexual said like "ugh" then it improved things. then little frickers like you went like no i don't want to say "ugh" then they died the frick out. literally went extinct.
you and i both know DLSS shouldnt be replacing optimization, but devs just see it as a quick way to get 10 frames for free.
and by optimization I mean stuff like
>calling a function pointlessly too many times
>enemies have overly complex animations when they are far away from the player
>environment is being fully rendered despite the player being inside a building and not being able to see it
>it's not optimizederoonny
your pc still couldn't run it if it was
literal nonsense
you just don't know how to do your job even if it was
should have bought a ps5
appropriately he isn't buying any video games with his PS5
five bucks say they use it like a few times before it collects dust.
But the DeLonghi actually has games unlike PS5
turkish man pick your path
Daily reminder the 40 series was the first gpu that was largely designed by agi that was tasked with designing a gpu to compute more agi tasks.
This wasnt even made for you morons and you will be lucky if anything in the future is too now.
So I can double my fps by just waiting for 1 frame longer? If it is that easy why doesn't every game and card allow this?
because it looks like shit and detail gets lost when you just try to guess what a frame looks like
might aswell play in 720p if you can't pull real frames, better than relying on CopeTech
You think you can do better?
It'd be cheaper to just pay developers to slow down on their graphics development so my card looks better without having to resort to artificially generating frames.
No it's cheaper to have agi design a card for agi tasks as that is the future for gpus.
No one has been able to tell me why any of this is bad as long as it looks good.
I bet you're also the type of person complaining about how shit raytracing looks despite the fact that the old way of doing lighting was "fake" as well.
>looks good
Nobody plays video games on a frame by frame basis.
And here comes the cope.
I'm not coping any more than you are. Rasterization, ambient occlusion, even anti-aliasing is all one giant cope after another and you just accept it because it looks good enough. Frick, normal maps are the single biggest fakeouts in 3D history but we all decided to just accept it because it looks good enough and for decades gave developers a massive overhead to expand the scale of their games.
DLSS is just another tool in that toolbox. Keep crying, boomer. Frames are all fake as frick and they always have been.
DLSS looks like shit and nothing you say will convince me otherwise.
imagine thinking you can see 1 single frame in motion. wait until you see what dark souls attack animations do at the apex of their hit frames.
>shitterman
that doesn't count it doesn't vount it doesn't FRICKING COUNT
Yes it does.
you stupid ass mother fricker the oost directly above you and the first reply both answer your question, goddamn its staring you righ in the fricking face and you still just
>oh golly goshers i just don't understand why its bad why won't anyone tell little widdle meeeee??
Because your dumbass is blind
no one needs to tell you why
>using upscaling wrong
a classic blunder. if you're using dlss, you crank your resolution. i have an old 1080p monitor, so i downscale from 1440p, which means dlss qualitt is rendering internally at 960p and upscaling to 1440p. this makes the game look better than 1080.
Just turn it off, it's still the fastest card ever made by a pretty large margin. It's not like you're going to get any better performance anywhere else.
DLSS & frame gen aren't bad when you use them as intended (4k resolution & 60 fps minimum)
Anything less is inferior quality & terrible input lag.
