I think "mobage story" in general is often looked at as something that's just gonna be extended indefinitely as long as the game keeps going.
Because it seems like most of the time, it is used that way.
They just want to work on smaller and more contained stories. Even i'd get sick of "Okay, this arcs ending, what asspull villain do we make to keep the ball going now?". Its been 7 years of it.

Oh a game like One Piece TC, or Dokkan, which quite literally haven't updated their story mode in years. Some games just outright give up on it.
It's kind of sad (but also good) that Dragalia finished its story months ago before EoS. And then the servers will be killed on Nov 30 in a few weeks. Kino final boss fight.
To be fair, Dragalia announced its EoS and then announced that it would give a story conclusion. It was clear things were rushed together, and there were still alot of loose ends in terms of the world building that they were saving for future events (the Syndicate, RIP Kamen rider Aldred, 12 Wrymclans, we never got Susano-o), but the devs get credit for caring enough to provide something.
They dont get credit for leaving in app purchases turned on for months and still releasing several paid only banners every week tho
Mileena’s new burst is pretty good, only thing to it is that you have to manually move her to the middle of the stage and start using it so that the trap it sets is immediately triggered. Another season of Asbel and TYDAL WAVU

Pretty clean ending. Was not expecting the scenes in the middle of the boss fight, and using Ix eMA gives you a special scene. Although Mileena’s didn’t unless I used it at the wrong time. The original Ix reuniting with Gefion was a great scene. Also what the heck were those save files after the credits? Just to record when you beat the story? Why 3 save slots than?
I don't think the save data has any function. They probably just wanted to mimic saving your clear data like a console game. Clicking the other 2 slots doesn't do anything.

How come Asteria main plot is still not finished btw?
There are a lot of possible story lines in the Asteria universe because they rotate the focus onto a different set of Tales characters for each arc, unlike Rays which made everything revolve around the same cast of OCs.
Asteria is on it's 6th arc and except for the 3rd and 4th each of them have been mostly standalone. Each arc (except the 3rd) has a conclusive end and the next arc goes off in a different direction to continue whereas Rays has been one continuous storyline so that makes it harder to drag out.
Also Asteria stopped giving a frick about consistent updates to it's story about 2-3 years ago, the current arc started near the beginning of 2021 and they're finally releasing the 4th chapter of it next month. Rays has taken a few breaks, but they still usually release a chapter almost every month.

By generic you mean the banners that are split between each Tales game? I mean you can pick any MA you want with that. I'd recommend a seasonal MA, just anyone you have at least some interest in, or if you want to go through the wikia and see who has an interesting battle style.
I wouldn't recommend sparking any 5*s since they give 5* tickets out frequently and let you buy a different selection of 5*s every elemental tower.

You can buy 3 and 4* weapons in the turtlez shop with your yellow pyramid currency.
Alternatively, you can use a rerun ticket and rerun Klarths event (Fighting of the spirits, theres afew events with that name but it has his picture next to the logo) or the Casino event for Mithos (it has Marcus's portrait by it). You can get some free pull tickets from each event to pull some of their stuff.
Or the Mithos raid. I had no clue they added a raid to the rerun list until just checking, although i dont know who the event shop is handled for it. I also didn't know they added the 1st idolmaster collab to the rerun list too.

How long does it normally take to rack up a tenfold in diamonds?
Depends, if you're a relatively new player, then it shouldn't take long. You have every story fight + hard more that gives you 4 dia a piece, its just gonna take you alot of time to sit down and get enough for a multi.
Now if you're a long time player, you'll just have the dailies for 10 dia a day, new events or reruns that give you 4 dia a fight (20 dia extra if its a new event from the event trophy), 20 dia every week from weeklies. How much you get from raids depend on how hard you go into it. If one was solely depending on dailies/weeklies/login bonus, it would take about 2 weeks and a day or 2 for a multi.
Next big source of dia is friendship/affinity levels for each character, getting level 2 is 4 dia, getting to 5 is 20 dia, and level 8 is 50 dia. Level 9 gives you a character trophy that gives 20 dia.
Then there's the monthly tower, if i remember right, it gives 350 dia total for hitting floor 50. Element tower doesnt give you dia, but Best Hero (which happens at least once a month) gives a max of 100 if you get the S Rank highscore.
I wont go super into detail with the tasks/missions tab, but a constant dia source is the "Get X amount of characters to level 50-55-60-65-70" task. Getting characters to just 70 gives you 25 dia a piece (sometimes 50 for certain milestones) but that is very EXP expensive to do.

I've been so spoiled by how generous Dragalia was (usually 1 tenfold and some extra rolls - maybe even two tenfolds - per raid/facility event), so this is like a slap in the face.
Dragalia was about the same. Rays also gives you tickets and guarantee tickets often, event shops usually get 5-10 tickets, and even random seasonal MA tickets are more accessible. Ray Festival periods are still good, ridiculous when it has a voting going on. Dragalia used to be more generous when it started but of course they started reducing and removing rewards as time went on, but none of it ever came with a guarantee

The devs clearly regret having a backlog. The obvious solution is to reduce the number of characters in the fes and just implement them all at once, in which case there likely won't be any more voting for characters.

The ones that got the most lukewarm reactions were Black Clover and Tiger & Bunny. I saw a lot of people didn't know Guilty Gear either, but when it started people thought it was cool. The 3rd imas collab wasn't well received too, but I think most people had issues with Ankira/Ankimo rather than the series itself.

Alright I’ve been logging in for a couple years and have finally started playing now that the story is finished. So, considering that I don’t have enough stamina to grind events atm, what should I prioritize getting from the event shop?
Also, what is the best build for my waifu Mint?
probably the gacha tickets, but if none of the characters here are anyone you like, i would take the time to play the entire story so that you have a stamina bar.
If you're planning to use Zaveid, you kind of need that weapon since it immediately resets his position from in-air to ground because his physicals make him jump all over the place.
I usually go for gacha tickets first, since they could potentially get an event MA and boost my farming speed a bunch.
Then weapons, since they can boost it too if I don't already have that character geared up pretty well.
Though this time I've just been beelining straight for that seasonal ticket, a bit over halfway there.

Though that'll also give you a bunch of extra AP from all the refills, so I like to work on that when there's an event I want to grind extra.

For Mint, if I remember right she wants the weapons from the Arche/Mint event from rerun tickets.
So you can unlock that when you're gonna be grinding an event anyway.

Event weapons are difficult to obtain, a single copy is required to use the arte. Alisha and Zaveid's event artes are great to have.
Mint's event arte Nurse is great as well.

Luminaria is pretty different from the usual Tales formula, so I don't think a lot of its fans play the other mobile games. Rays likes to mine obscure content though, so it's possible. And lately Asteria gets dragged into doing content for a lot of the same characters as Rays, so I guess it's not impossible on that front either.

hopefully they realize that the jp fanbase is only big enough to support 2 games. the en fandom is big enough to support 1 localized game, but asteria just wouldn't go over well and they already fricked over rays by screwing up in every way they possibly could.

Asteria and Rays can't last forever. I enjoy both of them and want them to continue, but they're clearly winding down. The obvious plan was that Crestoria and Luminaria were meant to replace them. Not to mention that Bamco was constantly saying how they wanted Tales to go worldwide with Arise, they would want a mobage that's alive in the west.
I think Bamco would be desperate to make a new mobage. At the same time I think they are aware that after 2 flops that people would be weary about another one. I think they have a new mobage in production, but they'll probably wait until the new console game is announced to take the pressure off.
Rays is doing pretty well, they've actually planned quite far into the future. Games that are about to die don't introduce new gameplay mechanics. It has at least another year of life in it.
Asteria... is interesting because it's been going like this for a while now. It shows all the signs of dying, but it's kept limping along for years and years. The profits are so low, but the profit margins HAVE to be even lower since there's absolutely no effort put into the game.
I'm sure they want a global server of some sort, but they're stuck unless they want to throw away one of these games for the sake of something new and untested.
That's why I chose the words 'winding down' rather than saying they're dying. I also think they'll keep both of them alive until a new mobage establishes itself.
Right now they feel like they're being prolonged because they don't have anything else. If the others had survived, I think Asteria would have EoS'd by now and Rays would probably have coasted along without getting as desperate as they have now.

Yep, all rainbow characters take a lot less affection points to max. They probably wanted people to max out Ix and Mileena to unlock their skill quests without any painful grind, so they just left it for all rainbow units.

Damn, my ticket luck hit the jackpot. Got Amelia's and Xelloss' MA from tickets. Then the free single pull got me Zelgadis' MA. The free multi gave me Xells 5* and 5* dupes of the first batch of Slayers. Its like the game knew i had no desire for this collab, my ticket luck is always hot garbage.
Part 2 should probably start in 6-7 days? The login MA ticket for Mint, Leon, etc should be available by that point.

TURN OFF AUTO RUN when doing the New Years daily fight. The monster spawns don’t chase you, and auto run goes right by them, you won’t get their currency drops.
I noticed something was off but the quest is oddly enough repeatable anyway and they only drop affection boosting items I think.
Yeah I panicked thinking it was a once a day fight. Trying to give 60 gift cards to someone at level 8, doesn’t even show any progression on their meter, pretty worthless.
Looks like they might give like 1 point like those visitation sparkler gifts when you visit another player's shack.
It is literally just one point affection. Don't bother trying to find all of them. You get more mileage out of one brown box
If anyone is wondering if the NY special banners are worth it, they're not. You can only do the 1st step with diamond anyway, and you have a very basic looking 10% MA rate. Each pool is large, but the only gMAs in the pool are from recent additions or characters that have literally nothing (Richard crying in the corner), it does have select eMAs, FCs, d/oMAs. You can do the 1st step if you feel like living on the edge. But you're better off spending 10 diamond on the other new daily random gMA banner.
I saw the rates. Trying to focus on one specific character is already a nightmare to begin with.
It was more for if anyone browsing was a relatively new player. Not a bad idea to fill up the roster, but this banner aint it. The least they could have done was let people use dias for 3 steps before going pay-only.
Nope, nada. If they ever decide to make Lambda playable, i can see Rich getting something maybe. Didn't help that Asbel's eMA was tied to an event that wasn't directly focused on Graces' ending, that would have been a better opportunity for him and Lambda.
Did them anyways because I have loads of dia and nothing to spent them on. Got seasonals for Elraine and Hisui and dMA for Kanonno G. All new so not bad at all.

ngl they really fricked over people that pulled for Lina/Xel/Naga for the raid. I had whales with maxed out Lina eMAs, and they only get about a 30-40% point boost. While a Leon with 1 single copy of his collab 5* and MA would already hit 35-40%. Took forever to find a Mint helper at 100%, barely any hard spenders on my list bothered to pull.
I legit didn't use Lina helpers when Mithos/Van/Mint/Leon at 45-60% did enough. I noticed it's still impossible to normally max out the score since this is my second raid event, so I was forced to dip into the diamonds to refill AP.
Its always impossible if you dont dump a huge load into the banner. I did the Vesperia eMA raid all the way to 3 million after using 4k+ on the banner, and together with a whale friend, my bonus was sitting at +400%. Still had to use some AP refreshes from watching character skits.
Getting to 1-1.5 mill is doable for most people who dont pull but have a good bonus friend. Don't ever worry about going past that unless its for a group of characters you saved alot of dias for and like. Out of all the years of playing, iv probably hit the 3 mill point a handful of times only. If you hit a bonus of atleast 250-300% with a friend, than you can hit the 3 mill with dia investment and get it back from the dia rewards. Personally I usually don't find a point in it unless the last reward is a collab character MA ticket, which was already in the grind event shop for this specific Slayers collab.
No prob. Always focus on buying every ticket in the tower shop before anything else for building up the roster, than the SG shards, than the cheapest "3* to 4* weapon" upgrade selectors.

Wrong, if you have the time, it's usually worth it to hit 3mil because you'll break even or better from daiya rewards even with refreshes. You will need refreshes, though, and it's quite tedious to grind that many raid completions.
If your bonus is poor, it isn't worth it. And at a mediocre bonus, you would barely make any dia profit from your dia refreshes. You would make the most profit from it if you have alot of unwatched character skits for free refreshes. The only real thing your getting is a gMA/5* selector ticket and some more ticket pulls on the feature banner if you care about whose on it; they already give gMA tickets often and its the same selector you can trade for with MA dupe currency. Now, if that MA ticket was for anything higher than a gMA, than yes you would jump on that shit asap no matter how many refreshes.
Low bonus with a high bonus friend maths out to a profit usually. there's a raid point calculator somewhere to help you make sure. It's not a huge profit but it's not a net loss at all.
Are those "ver.1" and "ver.2" tickets from the survival tower are just randomly selected 5*s kind of like those generic yellow summon tickets?
Each ticket has its own pool, its a guaranteed random 5* pull for each one.

Your other units have to be roughly on par and stunlock him, and the new 5*s for Van and Leon easily do the trick. Or just burst him down when he's at 50% hp with a strong helper after you unload your own MAs in row. My own Leon kept dying in like 3 hits anyway, so Van and Mithos had to do most of the work.
Point per ap wise, 25 AP is not much different from 80 AP.
Better do the stage that can be cleared with 5/5/5 bonus.
The rest of the stages can be cleared with Ix, spamming Shredding Talons to Guardian Phoenix repetitvely.
You probably want to sacrifice some of your bonus to slot in a character you have strongly built. Or do some arte enhancement on your current teams melee units to break and stunlock Mithos faster.

Thanks, but I think you mean Hajime Kanzaka and Rui Araizumi, since those are the LN writer and illustrator respectively and their names are always credited for the copyright of Slayers. I just found it curious that the Rays event script used the novel setting but incorporated some parts of the anime too although it's technically a separate timeline. I'll have to hunt around on Japanese social media to see if anyone has mentioned it.

Does the food voting quest just mean I have to get 2k points in that fight once per day to get all the rewards?
I cant check the game right now, but just get the max from setting all restrictions every day. Each day their will be different multipliers, eventually it will get higher than 200% from the restrictions you set, you don't need to pull for anything on the banner to do the quests.
You should be able to get up to the select ticket as long as you do all the quests, but the last few rewards are impossible without some bonus. It's just gifts and dias though so it's not much of a loss if you don't get them.
Van's kind of busted in this mode.
All I do is just spam Shugohoujin with the occasional Slayers 5* skill.
The first few days are easy. There will be more harder restrictions as the days go by, some like cant use anything that isnt magic/physcial, only 1 party member, no enemy break/stagger, etc.

Yeah, luckily I have FC Dhaos with Tidal wave spam. You could probably take any anima tidal wave spammer and win all conditions, leave your other 3 party members to be meatshields.
I thought only Rita, Shirley, and FC Dhaos had that.
Yeah, even without the anima bonus, they’re still reliable enough as long as you don’t let them get hit. Other big AoE spells work fine too, like Bloody Howling. There’s no penalty for letting characters die and you can restart the fight from the pause menu.
God I missed Festivals, man. These are like the perfect events for taking a break. Barely any grinding because the event shop doesn’t have too much in it unless you missed old event weapons, and those 20% MA tickets are like therapy after bad luck pulls.
...What were the limitations for today? I just did this and killed everything.
20 second time limit, no healing allowed, enemy immune to statues and reduced stagger time, double damage taken, reduced CC speed. Also not a limitation, but the robots in the fight reduce CC by 10 on hit.
Huh, guess I lucked out by starting with Klarth and AI Van getting in a Shugo first then controlling him.
They're throwing out the annoying groups of enemies now. These robots love to do laser spins that reach almost the whole map, so having a spell caster hiding deep in the back was good.
Im just waiting for them to pull out the 5 werewolves that gangbangs the nearest target, and the silver kraken that cant be broken and immediately starts casting a one hit kill tidal wave.

I know that's one I won't be able to beat with all bonus multipliers then.
It’s not as hard as it sounds, can be a little rng but it’s all about being prepared for it.
The strat is to have an MA ready to use and watch it’s casting meter. When you see that meter getting close to the end, pop an MA. Now the rng kicks in, you might be able to combo it right after, or keep it in a block lock and still combo it to death (it only takes 1 damage off any attack but has low enough health to compensate), or it runs off and tries to cast again, in which case you pray you have another MA ready or just quick restart. Recommended character would be Ix, because you just turn on his overray button before the fight and he starts with a filled MA meter, or any Spirit Gear user you have unlocked. Fill the meter up in the free story missions and then go for the festival challenge.
Well, I'll see how it goes since Ix is like lvl60 and not really built...
The voting part of the event is yellow anima only which is a first since because of the combination of characters, it's been rainbow anima but it's just rebirth this time
Yeah makes it a bit tad harder, but as always, my Ix and Mileena are ready rip and tear.

Anyone else's select a helper list bug out every once in awhile? Its been happening since the update after the collab. My friend lock is ON, but that friend doesn't show up first on the list, gotta scroll all the way to the right to see him, and it doesn't show the repeat symbol. My list also shows up disorganized. It always organizes it as Friends>people you follow>people that follow you>randoms, but now its all over the place.
If you go on a quest without a helper (ie. the daily raysfes challenge), the 'last used' symbol disappears since you didn't use anyone in the last quest.
My locked list has always been in random order since the locks were first implemented. I don't know why it does that, but I didn't really care since they're still locked in.
Ah, and since you can’t bring a friend to the festival challenge, I’m seeing it more often. I’m also doing some skill quests now that my stamina isnt totally reserved for the festival grind fight. Thanks anon

Most limits were from yesterday too, on top of MA/SG damage reduced, disable invincibility frames from certain artes, double damage and enemy health.

For today? I just brought a bunch of melee units since no spells allowed.
If you feel like you're going to have trouble, dont be afraid to start cooking some 12 hour dishes for stat boosts in advance, the fandom wikia lists all the dishes and buffs, just alittle back and forth to reroll what dish will come out before you start the cooking process. If you can afford the point loss, you can turn on one of the good handicaps for a boost too. RNG can also play into it so dont be afraid to constantly restart the fight, enemy aggro changes, what they do or if they gather up, you can even reroll for crits, etc.
Thanks. That's actually what I did for the fight with the 20 second time limit as the last bonus. I had to cut that bonus off but everything else has been going great.
Ix can solo today's challenge. His special Overray mode, Shredding Talons, and surf MA works well in this game mode, provided there's no restrictions for those.
Yeah you can turtle it hard and just spam the invincibility frames on Ix. I took Cress and Dhaos to speed it up. I like using Cress' Black Clover collab 5* and spinning him like a beyblade.
