Her friendship is written almost the exact same way as her romance: if you're just trying to be her friend then you're stuck dealing with a clingy stalker and the game won't let you get rid of her, but if you're romancing her then it's weirdly distant and keeps resetting itself by making Liara an amnesiac who barely treats you any differently. It's stuck in this weird half friendzone all the time and it's unsatisfying from both sides.
