Secondly Hydaelyn is always shown with head-wings which this image lacks.
Next there is a Solar/Sun/Fire motif about its head, as well as seemingly galaxies being spun off from behind her.
Amano key art for each of the expansions has always been important to the plot and characters, and this coming out right as they announce Dawntrail has me believing that its connected.
So here are my top theories of whom this is in no particular order.
1. Cosmos. The overarching Final Fantasy deity that they have shown through the fighting games of which FF14 has also been included with a character crossover.
2. Altana. The Dawn Goddess. She was the deity of the FF11 world Vana'diel, which FF14 gets a lot of its world DNA from.
3. Hydaelyn. Now in yellow! Kind of a boring answer IMO.
4. Krile. What? Tin foil hat time! With Zodiark and Hydaelyn gone, whats left holding the shards apart? Might they naturally start to converge and try to reunite? So perhaps one who was basically possessed by Hydaelyn and so loves the world, may need to seek a new form to hold the convergence at bay.
5. Its someone new! Yay! New unheard of character that makes life complicated! (See also Meteion)
6. Its no one. Its just pretty art that represents the world they built and has no bearing on the story itself.
I'm sure we'll find out (or not) eventually! What's your thoughts on the image?
JESUS, put a fricking hat on.
Oh I was just wearing that for a P8S shitpost lol
Hey trannies and homosexuals.
It is me again. Just dropping by to remind you that the trailer for your next expansion was nothing but a Brazilian ladyboy's wet fart, with horrendous music to boot.
Since that diversity slop is more than a year away, may I suggest you migrate to a better game that is also receiving a better expansion as soon as later his month?
That game is Guild Wars 2. Flee this sinking ship while there is still time!

Doesn’t this one literally have troony stuff worse than dragonflight thrown into it?
it has lesbos, not trannies
but enough about body type 14
Yes, it's even more obnoxious about it than wow.
yep. you are literally forced to call a troony brave.
Don't forget to beat up those bigots, GW2 is very progressive.
Prrrrrobably not? If Etheirys has a will, it's inscrutable and indifferent to the happenings on and around it. Etheirys didn't help the Ancients with the Final Days, despite their (ostensible) millennia of devotion to improving it, and would have been annihilated in the same. Kinda why Zodiark got summoned, y'know?
Having some greater power would be contrary to Endwalker's existentialist underpinnings, and it's a piece of artwork for the game's 10th Anniversary, in which Hydaelyn played a pivotal role; and as mentioned Amano's artstyle isn't 100% consistent, so that's totally no reason to think it's not Hydaelyn.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I can't see it as anything other than Hydaelyn given the context.
Well, we do know that Etheirys existed before the Ancients did (taken from comments made by a researcher at Elpis who stated that primordial Etheirys was an "untamed wilderness" prior to the establishment of the Ancients' civilization), so whether they evolved naturally from the planet's creation and their society developed over time accordingly, or whether they were like the Ancients from FFVII and were outright extraetheirysal that colonized the planet but originated from some other world, is a very good question.
Also, it was my understanding that Etheirys had no specific will or consciousness, it just was (this is why the Ancients gave it a will themselves in the form of Zodiark and then Hydaelyn as part of the plan to stop the Final Days, it had none itself originally - the Underworld/Lifestream/Aetherial Sea/whatever it is called just existed in a state of natural inertia prior to that with no consciousness or free will of its own (the Ancients were actually aethiests before they summoned Zodiark).
So hence I doubt we're going to see any "original will of the planet" show up now that Zodiark and Hydaelyn are gone.

Literally just pop lucid dream and spam heals. Dungeons have a minimum ilvl requirement. Even if you're at the minimum, you should be able to just spam heals and get through big pulls.
homosexuals like you are why dungeons take 30 minutes, because the DPS have to literally do twice as many rotations.
shitty wowfugee thanks
a healer's job isn't to "spam heals" they need to dsp as well
this is why I dps
tanking is boring
healing just sucks
truth
homie, if the tank is constantly dying then you should be spamming heals
>runs out of mp
>homie, if the tank is constantly dying then you should be spamming heals
That's not how healing in FFXIV works. Maybe below level 50. But after 70 or so, if you're out of oGCDs, the tank is going to die. Simply spamming hard-cast heals is not enough to keep them alive, especially after they run of mitigation cooldowns. There is no infinite well of heals to offset the damage of a wall-pull. Which is why it is critical that DPS be doing their job, as well. For trash pulls, DPS are the ones with the most power to make it easy or hard.
>wall pull
These don't exist in endwalker since every dungeon maxes you out at 2 packs.
A healer's job is to first keep the tank and party alive, and second, to DPS.
The reason you DPS is to move the dungeon along faster. It's everyone's job to move the dungeon along faster.
But if the tank is dead and/or has to single pull, then the dungeon is going slower. Neglecting heals for your shitty 140 potency Stone I is moronic.
You know what does more damage than 140 potency? A 100 potency AoE attack spread across several targets to do 600+ potency total, and that's only for a wimpy 6-mob pull.
>Neglecting heals for your shitty 140 potency Stone I is moronic.
homie, MAYBE 1 out of every 5 dungeons I do will show DPS doing more damage than me (SGE) on trash pulls. If a DPS is out damaging me on trash, I take it as a sign that they're extremely good at their job because it's so rare.
Hey dipshit, that's completely false.
DPS is what you do when there isn't healing to be done.
You're expected to dps instead of standing idle, but your damage is entirely irrelevant if people are dying.
spoken like someone that has never played a healer in FFXIV
cute potato

>debuffs
this moron can't heal Tam-Tara lmao
what dungeon has debuffs during pulls? just heal? it's not hard dummy
The very first pull of the Baelsar's Wall dungeon several of the enemies can double stack dot damage attacks randomly on the entire team, not just the one with aggro, that tanks often underestimate and don't mitigate for properly. With the lmited healer kit at that level it basically becomes, "I can save the dumb tank but chances are a dps is gonna die."
The biggest problem with the first pull in that dungeon is the dumbfrick tanks not dragging the melee trash onto the archers so it ends up feeling more messy than it actually is. DPS getting DoTs isn't a problem since an oGCD off global AoE heal you were probably gonna use anyway can take of it since they're not taking autos on top, you shouldn't waste time cleansing them.
>Baelsar's Wall
I already have Raw Intuition at that point, who cares?
This isn't an argument whatsoever. Just use Medica 2, Indomitability, Aspected Helios (or celestial Opposition or Collective Unconscious), or whatever the oGCD Sage AoE heal is. If the dot damage does more than one AoE heal's worth, you spent so long on that pull that something bigger has gone wrong.
Dungeons are not hard to heal in big pulls, especially not ones undertaken at their respective expansion's level cap.
it is impossible for a healer in FFXIV who knows what he is doing to let a tank die. no matter how big the pull, it is ALWAYS the healers fault if ANYONE dies. ffxiv is literally baby mode easy.
Taking damage as dps is optional. Use second wind if you don’t want to die after you screw up, it’s a ogcd and I’m not dropping a glare to heal you.
>enter a single large mob pull as a Scholar with a Warrior tank

Hmm yes I will waste a GCD clearing this poison that only deals 1/100th max hp per tick instead of actually healing with a real spell
honestly this shit makes me glad in Bard leveling that I get a button to press to take the edge off, because most ARR dungeon runners don't have to bother with Esuna due to the low risk of those debuffs
>no, healers shouldn't need to heal all the time, they should just be a 1 button dps that throws a heal every 10 seconds
I dont get it
Unless they change their fight design philosophy in 7.0 then not much will change with healing tbh

If it's not doom, you don't have to esuna it.
even if it's a doom, there's a good chance it can be cleared by simply healing to full health

that sounds like your fault honestly
Yeah this happens. Frick that beef bowl mother fricker. If a healer gives you lip, go wall to wall immediately, if they can't keep up it's on them
If you're so fricking immature that you can't stop showboating when the healer says it's not working for them, then you're the problem. That's what being on a team is about. You should be asking before-hand how the healer wants their pulls. 99% will say to wall it. If the healer says they're having a hard time keeping up, don't sperg out like a homosexual. Just slow it down. It's not a big deal. Your ego is not that important.
Why are bronze games so fricking sweaty? I thought only shitters would be playing in bronze but it feels like everyone is a Gold+ player.
because the only people who play pvp are soulless, alt account homosexuals
They didn't reset everyone's rank back to fresh?
They did. New season just started.
Well that sucks why don't they refresh everyone back to start from the bottom? Don't boosters just get a free ride?
Because Yoshida is a fricking moron who doesn't think ahead, that's why. His solution to rank being dead after season 2 wasn't to revert the changes that killed ranked, but instead add an incentive with augment hellhound weapons. Rank still died in 6.4, it just lasted for four weeks instead of the usual two. It's very much a rich-get-richer structure.
We're going to have season 10 last for 5 or so months, since it will go from 6.58 to 7.0, and I already know it's going to be dead for at least four months. I also know Yoshida will ignore this completely and instead add another incentive instead of fixing ranked in any way.
I feel like Yoshi doesn't care about pvp and just puts it there.
He doesn't care about most of the game and it has always shown.
Endwalker was the worst expansion in the series and it fricking shows.
Truest words on Ganker.
>His solution to rank being dead after season 2 wasn't to revert the changes that killed ranked, but instead add an incentive with augment hellhound weapons
I don’t even remember the specific patch changes but I’m going to assume this was deranking. Because the “incentive” literally makes ranked even more dead. People reach their milestone whether or be crystal or diamond, and immediately stop playing. Then the poor fricks stuck in bronze-gold get tired of getting assblasted by alts, and ex-diamonds from other season give up because from bronze all the way to plat there is no fricking reward.
The ranking system in this game is the dumbest I have ever seen
Yeah it's complete garbage. Yoshida catering to the very tiny top 100 whiners who b***hed that they weren't winning games because of low-credit players on their team made it harder to wintrade or whatever. Meanwhile the only two seasons without derank are also the only two with high credit floors for top 100, proving that it did keep everyone from low to high ranks engaged.
Aether went from like 3.3k credit floor (maybe more I just remember thinking I was safe at 3k and getting passed in like two weeks) to fricking 300. Shit did kill the mode.
It’s an insult they even added the fricking glowshit. Because unfortunately I do want one. I never want to play ranked again. Let me spend my literal hundreds of wolf collars that I earned from competing in crystal in non-dead seasons. Why should I have to play shitty dead ranked for something I already accomplished
>Let me spend my literal hundreds of wolf collars that I earned from competing in crystal in non-dead seasons.
This is most likely what they'll do, but it won't happen until 7.1. Right now they're barely touching pvp and rank in meaningful way until after all CCRC are finished, so the only big hope ranked has on the horizon is the final season of EW, and if it's a bust they're not going to have an emergency patch to fix things between 6.58 and 7.0. Either it saves everything or it's a dud.
>caring about PVP
why do you do this to yourself?
the cheaters alone are reason enough for me to not give a frick
scripted polymorph and other CC are not fun
that's 1 of the multitude of problems with PVP
It's fun in its own way. If you remember all those tacked-on multiplayer modes from 7th gen, there's probably one you had a softspot for. XIV pvp is like that for me after the changes in 6.1.
Season 1 was a good first attempt, I stated before I will never play ranked again and am cucked out of weapon I should rightfully have since I played during the most popular season
i always hated the stuns and that you need everyone to attack one guy to KO anyone.
There should be fewer CCs and those that have them should be weaker jobs, not some of the strongest.
They only reset rank by 5 tiers. Do Crystal goes to Diamond 5, Dismond 5 goes to Gold 1, etc. It would be much better if everyone always started fresh, because so long as you make it into crystal you never have to try to get back in.
Its alts of people already in diamond and crystal, they make them to boos their main and throw games for people they hate. Revival has an official int list as well, so if you just happen to piss one of these randoms off, you'll never make it to diamond until their alts are in crystal.
Because diamond and crystal is dead these players constantly make new accounts that they can then use to wintrade with their mains. The bronze-gold bracket is fricking moronic and more imbalanced than casual

Of course, making a furry comic admitting you were ill before even going is peak moron.
This is way better than I expected, as soon as he confirmed it was COVID 100% he went back home, I thought he would say "frick it" and attend the second day feeling like shit and even meeting Yoshi P. or something.

The YoRHa raids are a pseudo-sequel to Nier: Automata. One of the endings of that game has the minds of its characters being uploaded into the sphere that then launches off into the cosmos in search of new worlds. One of the fears expressed by other characters is that the central conflict of Automata will simply be repeated on whatever world the sphere arrives at. Well, the sphere landed on the First and that's exactly what happened. In a way, not understanding what is going on is appropriate because the WoL and the dwarves are only seeing a tiny fraction of a larger story that's been going on long before they came to Norvrandt and will continue long after the raid is finished.
But you're right, the raid series is mostly it's own self-contained story that doesn't really matter to the wider setting or narrative. If you wanted to ignore something in FF14's lore, Dark Apocalypse is a good choice.
I ignore nothing! Not only do I have no idea whatsoever what could suddenly end up story-relevant, I love the fact that's true; you can legitimately read Hildibrand solely for worldbuilding notes, and find things that actually become relevant. Sometimes that means content you don't like has useful information, so I don't throw it away out of hand. (In fact, that's why I do Hildibrand; I don't find the comedy funny at all, but you learn things that'll become really important down the line.)
That might be because I come from a roleplaying background, though; outside of concessions to allow for the fact we're all playing the same story, I find it's really important that everyone is on the same page about the common setting they're in. You can't just go 'I reject an entire expansion because I don't like it' unless you want to throw up a big unworkable wall between you and everyone else. That doesn't mean every character knows everything, but you as the players should generally be on the same page regarding out-of-character knowledge.
My character's allowed to be fairly rejecting of the Ascians' whole deal--she's a primal researcher, to her they primarily exist as a dangerous cult that's also essentially the in-universe equivalent of nuclear arms dealers, she's not aware of Amaurot and the like. But when I'm RPing with others, we both recognize that yes, they do exist as the story depicts and our characters only have certain sides of that story.
The sphere is a seed of destruction from Drakengard, not the ark from the end of Automata.
Yeah, but there's a difference between 'I would personally have written this differently' and 'I disagree that this happened at all'. When we're talking about roleplaying they have to be entirely separated, while other sorts of fan creator might come from a different direction and be able to merge them more.
Yeah, the Lufaine were retconned into being a big thing in Angry Jack's Rage-A-Thon Ft. Frank Sinatra, they were literally nothing of note before then. Cid of the Lufaine was in Dissidia as a wink-nudge reference to FFI (specifically the remakes of FFI, the original version didn't mention Cid at all), not as a hint to some greater alien society responsible for everything bad in the series.
Especially considering that it's anniversary art, I feel like it's pretty obviously Natsuko Ishikawa.
I'm kind of hoping this is a future character who's going to be relevant to the second story arc somehow.
Perhaps an actual god instead of a fabricated one...? We know the origin of the Sundered races, but not the Ancients and the star proper.
Looking closely at the new map, there's an extremely large crack that goes across the ocean just north of Tulliyollal, indicating I think a geographic feature reminiscent of that next to the Ridoranna Lighthouse but on a colossal scale, one that looks to divide the continents and bar passage like an inverse Panama Isthmus. Meta-wise I'm assuming this is our barrier to keep us out of North Tural for 7.0, but now I'm wondering if there is a Gulg connection lurking and some dropped Tartarus plot-threads are going to be repurposed for 7.0 like how the original 2.0 Eureka hints after the CT raid series were reused for 8UE Ironworks, the Isle of Val, and then Eureka Orthos.

How fricked am I?
You can do pretty much 90% of the trial MSQ solo. You only really need to party up for Trials
It doesn't matter since you never grind mobs in this game, the main story is mostly cutscenes and instances. You can't really get fricked by this game, only filtered by getting bored and quitting before the story gets good.
Also they reworked summoner this expansion and turned it from the jankiest job into the simplest most streamlined one.
Was Krile their assigned tard wrangler at the Studium?
Lmao just gauge how much the healer can heal by increasing the amount of mobs you pull until you notice he starts struggling

nice
the enjoyment of healing in any MMO is tied directly to how well other people play the jobs. FFXIV is even worse, because DPS also needs to do their jobs so packs die before you run out cooldowns.
Also, there is a lot of awkward changes in how content is handled between 50 and 90. Every expansion is different due to the healers not having their full kits until 90. So, pulling an ARR dungeon the same way you pull a Endwalker dungeon requires more skill and knowledge of the game on everyone's part (ie: knowing which jobs have their AOEs or which can DPS consistently while moving).
There is no one 'correct' way to tank all dungeons in the game. You have to adapt based on the dungeon and your group composition. A good tank knows that. But the healer will get blamed for any failure regardless of who's fault it is.
sucks at healing
how its literally easiest role in the game literally just press heal and spam attack spell.
I want to return after the graphics upgrade and play 6.0 updates and 7.0 ^ - ^, this time i wont prepare before the expansion

I hope the final Island Sanctuary thing is the Scions hanging out with WoL on his island
It's a work in progress.
heh
I hope they do another Restoration project next expansion. I hope it's NOT Garlemald though, I'd rather go and build a new settlement on the First or something.
Ala Mhigan restoration with hanging gardens housing coming right up.
>New Restoration content
>mfw it's actually WoL helping the Loporitts finish the residential area at Bestway Burrows
I think they've set up things for making a Garlemald restoration, so if it does happen I can't see it being anything but Garlemald restoration
The kino idea is to merge restoration, exploratory content, sanctuary, and relics into one huge side area
And that area should not be garlemald. It should be eorzea. Eorzea in the doomed timeline that dealt with the eighth calamity. Let’s us repay the favor for them saving us (and the world), lets us revisit old zones like thanalan with a twist, can have fun shit like a Limsa raid (or frick it make the delubrum equivalent sashtasha or some shit) the possibilities for nostalgia baiting is kino.
Have Rowena and Gerolt’s great great great great grandkid forge us a paradox weapon that we bring back and forth to gerolt for wacky hijinks. Let us make the chrystarium on the source, whatever you want it’s bound it to be kino. And it’s perfect side content since it’s an alt timeline that doesn’t fricking matter we just go there because we are cool hero dudes that save people for fun
Squeenix has balanced tank to the point where they can keep themselves up, no more healing needed, you just sit there and wait for the immortal tank to do the job for the 4 of us.
