Tanks belong on bases.
I don't care what scale, I don't care what game. It goes on a base.
Do you want that loving paintjob you spent hours on RAWDOGGING the goddamn table? God no.
Tanks belong on bases. Simple as.

And how am I gonna pick up my tanks and go vroom vroom and bang bang with them if they have stupid plate attached at the bottom?
You go to
instead.
Toys are too cheap
I will not put it on a base. unless the unit has a risk of falling over from being top heavy it will not go on a base.
>b-but the paintjob
not an issue with varnish.
This anon has the truth of it. moronic OP has not heard of varnish.
You can only be based if you're based.
You're so not based
literally based
the concept of every miniature in the game being on a base except for a single type is silly
Then how will people see you painted the underside?
You did paint the underside, didn't you?
haha... yeah...
I am used to fixing games workshop's failure.
Memes aside that looks like more trouble than it's worth.
you cut it and glue it on the bottom. how difficult is that?
If you do it properly, measuring and cutting takes time. To do it properly, you'd also need to recreate the ridges. Easier to 3D print that shit.
Unless you do it properly, it's pointless.
its just to seal the bottom man, dont overthink shit
>overpays for subpar product
>spends hours fixing the mistakes of manufacturer instead of doing a proper reclamation
This is why capitalism fails.
Please tell me you don't actually pay extra for GF9 styrene, and you're just using the pic as an example.
This advert brought to you by the Base Warehouse (TM), because EVERYTHING needs to have an expensive piece of plastic glued to it! Only $15 for three!
Bases are used to stop models from falling over. Do your tanks fall over a lot anon?
I did not spent time painting the underside of my tanks only to seal it to a base.
How can I see that loving undercarriage paintjob I assume all people have if it's on a base?
Fricking Mirrors?
The scratches give it character.
Vehicles already have a base. It's called the wheels (or the treads on a tank). So what if they get roughened up by the table? Scars are a sign of pride, of honor, it is battle-worn and won those battles, winning the right to dirty treads and scratched wheels.
Another point.
Don't you love your little tanky bois as much as the rest of your army?
And as such, shouldn't they be given the same basing as your army to tie them in?
Basing can have a big effect on the look of a paintjob and you're just not doing that for some units because of gravity?
But if the tank has a base, how do flip it and leave it on the table to show it's destroyed, while still blocking movement nad line of sight? You arnt one of those GW freaks who thinks a model should be removed when killed anon? Also, isnt it jarring if the expertly painted mars desert flocked model is being used on a battlefield of green grass, grey rock plains or white sand? It would look like the model is driving around with it's own puddle. If so, I pity you and your lack of realism.
Just put a bit of cotton wool on it.
I don't paint the underneath. Don't paint bottom of threads, dont fill the dorn hole. Simple as.
Yes, but the bases should be square, so you can easily determine what armour value you're shooting at.
