Unique combo of tailwind+punishing intimidate with competitive is the reason he's using it probably, maybe he brought it because 3 of his Pokemon are weak to Landorus?

What happened? When I used it a year ago everyone was running Indeedee with Imprison and Armarouge as a strategy against it and to bring out Psychic Surge.
Rillaboom returning via Pokemon Home for Regulation D meant that it was easier to clear terrain, and since Farigiraf's priority blocking is tied to itself rather than terrain its more consistent
Indeedee's still good but now its seeing more play on offense squads since the Indigo Disk DLC gave it a lot of new Expanding Force partners, especially Iron Crown
That won't stop any Indeedee users from using Imprison. It's purpose is to bring Psychic field and use Expanding Force. While at it it can stop Trick Room teams unfolding their strategy by using Imprison and never use Trick Room on its own.
No matter if the DLC has gotten more offensive or not.
Indeedee's partner will often carry something to deal with dark types.
I have literally never seen Indeedee with imprison but there was a gap where I didn't play for a while. Indeedee+Armarogue coin flips don't work at open team sheet events, people can see and react to your stupid bullshit.

Poison and rock are both really strong and useful attacking types and it's got a fairly minmaxed stat spread.
