It's absolute garbage. 10 fricking years and they are still using the same shitty netcode from Tekken 7, after Strive and SF6 set a new standard. For this reason alone T8 deserves to fail horribly, how fricking hard is it to get decent netcode, which is integral to your games success, at this point in time? The most basic b***h of tasks and Bamco couldn't manage it, pathetic.
The online is trash, you're not even trying to defend it because you know that it is, in fact, objectively shit. All they had to do for this game to succeed was improve the online from Tekken 7, and they couldn't even manage that. I'm not even going to get into the fact that they've raped whiff punishing and the heat system is an abomination, because even with that, Tekken is still Tekken, but not improving the netcode is unforgiveable. How can they be that lazy, that incompetent? It boggles the mind.
Netcode still isn't proper or good rollback that many other games released in the past 3 years have, but it is a slight improvement from 7 and I can crossplay while avoiding wifiBlack folk and 3 bars pretending to be 4 bars. Was fun but better fricking fix that heat shit, chip damage and garbage backdash.

It's not an improvement from 7 at all, it is the exact same netcode with the exact same problems.

What is the worst aspect of heat and chip damage as someone whos only watched 8
Heat being a dumb "free offense and mixup" is the biggest issue. For a specific character example, Lili's heatsmash, it covers half the stage, has tracking, pushes you 50 feet away, and is + on block to give her a moronic backturn mixup. What is the counterplay to this? It doesn't exist, it gives the person using Heat a free move to get in and force ANOTHER mixup even if its blocked. This is typical of Heat in general in this game, it's just free offense and mixups the player did nothing to earn.
As for chip damage, here's a fun example of what chip in Tekken 8 can look like sometimes: https://twitter.com/Glaciating/status/1715832665331454158

I never got into the beta, but these issues are fixable, right? Iirc the arcade release of Tekken 7 was also a mess balance wise. Maybe there’s a bit pf a learning curve for the dev team with the mechanical changes.

This is a sidestep game why are you backdashing.

Even sidestepping doesn't do shit with how much they've buffed whiff recovery, you can straight step a move and make it whiff and they will recover in time to block any significant punishment, if not altogether. I guess this is part of their "offense good, defense bad" philosophy but it is absolute shit that you can't seriously punish most whiffs now.

The only recovery that I felt was oppressively buffed is blocking a Rage Art into launch punish. I don’t know if it is a netcode thing or if they changed something but you had to mash df2 at lightning speeds to hit the punish.

Recovery in general is buffed, except random stuff they hated in T7 now being raped, such as generic d+4 being launch punishable now so pros don't spam it so much.

>"costumes" barely look different from Tekken 7 >same intros from Tekken 7 >even more of a 2D fighter than Tekken 7 >character faces don't emote at all >ugly graphics/bad lighting
It's the same game, but somehow dumber. Tekken sucks.
>Online is decent, but far away from SF, Strive and such >Almost too similar to T7 >I'm feeling mixed toward the heat system. I don't really like it. >Looks cool, and characters are very nice. Very cool costumes. >The online lobby smells like a kneejerk reaction of SF's battle hub >Some improvement toward the movements >Characters and combos feels easier to execute
Shit roster. Ain't playing until interesting characters are shown. So fricking stick of Asuka, devil jin, two bears, Leo, sateen, and none of the newcomers are interesting. Why give Kuma heihachis moves if you're going to introduce a female heihachi anyways, and why are we getting another cqc character when we have dragunov?
is this achievable natty?
for a manlet
if you are a manlet and not asian, yes.
just don't have white genes
Sorry i am only interested in what the FGC rep, Maximillian Dood, has to say on the topic
Beta was fun, looked amazing too.
Is the online actually decent now or is Harada still making shit up

you dont have to cry this hard and blame netcode just because you suck at a video game

It was mostly pretty good for me, but I heard a lot of complaints from PC players
.t console player
PC versions of fighting games weirdly should have less delay cause it was a problem with T7 on PS4 due to unreal
It's weird, I guess the piss five is good for something
Lay off the trenboline Kaz

(You)
Negan and Noctis arent in 8 so its already a better game but the DLC will probably be awful again regardless

At least try to pretend like you played it Gankerro.

Overall a bit mixed, especially for 70 bucks.

>Motions
>Type A
>Type B
IT'S OVER
>steamdb reports peak is half of what sf6 was
I thought all of Pakistan was going to play this game. They should just cancel it.
Well, it's a closed beta.
>CLOSED beta
cmon morono kun
feeling like this
>B-buff the backdash!
>Muh core players
They level the playing field, and the first thing they do is b***h and moan
So autistic
More fun than 7 but the netcode is so disappointing
