Because 8 was about dealing with Kazuya and Jin while also cleaning up Azazel.
The 'big reveal' wasn't supposed to be her being Heihachi's daughter, it was that she had a Devil Gene.
Not great for plot but at least they gave her the development now instead of just inteoducing her as an instant major player in 9.
And yeah the armor looks way better on her, hopefully in 9 she uses that more than her jacket.
I don't like it when she goes edgy and her devil form looks butt ugly but otherwise she's alright. Gameplay-wise I enjoy fighting Reina players because they're all just unga bunga and I get easy wins.

Every King player has their rank inflated by like 5 ranks if you watch how they play outside of throws. I've faced several in purple ranks who genuinely can't block a single low and only ever dealt damage through heat smash and throws.
Joke's on you, I actually poke more often than I throw and it catches people all the time, especially if I tick throw. Though there's a surprising amount of people ready for the backturn 1+2 unblockable lariat.

I've been scared to push some of my characters past 2ne red rank because I don't want to over rank every other character I wanna learn to play with.
I found reaching Red ranks far easier in this than 7, but there also isn't a super insane punishment for losing to someone the same rank or no reward for wrecking someone way above your rank, and I LOVE that getting demoted only slides you down slightly with a chance to get promoted back by next match.
A red rank being the most attained rank is absolutely insane.
I still remember the days of tag2 when someone being a Genbu made you think they were an unbeatable god, and you'd only see someone red+ once a month or so.

Ranked is fricking weird. I usually get like 400 points when fighting someone the same rank as me when I was a Ganryu, but I once got 700 points by beating someone in orange ranks.
You get a bonus for beating someone's highest ranked character on top of if the character hasn't ranked down from their current rank.
Basically Highest character of someone try harding will give more points than if a pro just decided to give you a free win with some autoboosted character

I usually stop at where "ranking" gets annoying and just play quick match for the rest of the game's lifespan. I'm at red and I don't think I've had "solid" matches yet. I either get paired with yellow players, the rare smurf, or really really disgusting red scrub flowcharters. I should try rank again but climbing is too slow and gets kinda boring where quick play i don't have to worry about winning or losing and just about learning.
kinda hard to learn though when other than the smurfs, I get really really bad almost CPU tier matches.

IIRC the only characters from prior games that missed Tag 2 were Gon, GunJack & Tetsujin. This is barring technicalities like Jaycee/Julia, Jack 1-5, King I, Kuma I & Roger Sr. It's an impressive roster, and sadly probably a contributor to it losing money.

Electrics shouldn't have to be frame-perfect. Execution gating has no value. There's no balancing aspect worth taking seriously when every pro can execute them at a 100% rate at will. There is no acceptable reason for me having to buy a custom controller just for faster inputs as well as having to grind hundreds of hours to develop highly precise muscle memory while fricking up my arm all over with arthritis. Pushing a stick one way, returning it to neutral, and pushing it another way takes way fricking longer than pressing a couple buttons on a keyboard or soibox, never mind having to perfectly time a button press which is also trivial with le correct hecking hardware. I've been scared to push some of my characters past 2ne red rank because I don't want to over rank every other character I wanna learn to play with.
I found reaching Red ranks far easier in this than 7, but there also isn't a super insane punishment for losing to someone the same rank or no reward for wrecking someone way above your rank, and I LOVE that getting demoted only slides you down slightly with a chance to get promoted back by next match.

Ranked is fricking weird. I usually get like 400 points when fighting someone the same rank as me when I was a Ganryu, but I once got 700 points by beating someone in orange ranks.
You get a bonus for beating someone's highest ranked character on top of if the character hasn't ranked down from their current rank.
Basically Highest character of someone try harding will give more points than if a pro just decided to give you a free win with some autoboosted character

I usually stop at where "ranking" gets annoying and just play quick match for the rest of the game's lifespan. I'm at red and I don't think I've had "solid" matches yet. I either get paired with yellow players, the rare smurf, or really really disgusting red scrub flowcharters. I should try rank again but climbing is too slow and gets kinda boring where quick play i don't have to worry about winning or losing and just about learning.

Electrics shouldn't have to be frame-perfect. Execution gating has no value. There's no balancing aspect worth taking seriously when every pro can execute them at a 100% rate at will. There is no acceptable reason for me having to buy a custom controller just for faster inputs as well as having to grind hundreds of hours to develop highly precise muscle memory while fricking up my arm all over with arthritis. Pushing a stick one way, returning it to neutral, and pushing it another way takes way fricking longer than pressing a couple buttons on a keyboard or soibox, never mind having to perfectly time a button press which is also trivial with le correct hecking hardware. Only the insect mind of a jap boomer can justify this.
