They really ought to let us change the ball a pokemon is in, this way you can use a ball that is effective for the situation or mon and then change the ball out later
well all things considered the net ball is a pretty cool and unique ball anyway imo

I used to be a regular ball catcher, but since then I have been enlightened and now every pokemon will be caught in a matching ball.
It can be color wise, type wise or team wise (I had a nurse Joy team and used heal balls) but there should be some thought. I now refrain from using pokemon if I can't uget them in a nice ball, or go out of my way to trade (like luxury balls in gen 3).
Matching colors for some, theme for some (like heavy ball snorlax), beast balls for all ultra beasts, necrozma and cosmog line, love balls for favorite female and female-like pokemon like Mawile, etc.
if half of them worked as intended I'd be inclined to use the variants. As it stands though, once I get to the point in the game where I get access to quick balls, it's them turn 1, then try to use the ones that work as intended based on criteria: Caves- Dusk or Heavy, depending on the encounter. Net for bugs and water mons, timers for long grindy legendary fights, Lure if I'm fishing, etc.
depends on color scheme of the mon really
though love and heal balls are my go to if theres a mon that doesn't have a color scheme that matches any paticular ball, they are cute
Pokeballs only with two exceptions: the occasional use of Master Balls, as well as using fun balltism picks whenever I join a hacked shiny raid in SwSh.
For support pokemon like Prankster mons and Comfey I like to use heal balls, heavy balls for tanks like Corviknight, and beast Balls for my main damage dealers.
The fact that Beast Balls have such a low catch rate makes them really cool to use. Electric Pokemon look great with it. I caught Zacian on Sw with my Beast Ball in game, that was a motherfricker.
I also love Luxury and Premiere balls, they're quite flexible too.
Dark red lines were the first to go. Shit balls.
Blue lines, and then green, were next. Won't miss them much.
That leaves us with the only good balls: Net, Gigaton, and Strange.
If I could - Nets for the pirate Pokémon, Gigatons for the landlubbers (squad always in a 5:1 OR 1:5 ratio, Pirates:Landlubbers) with Stranges for Pokémon that will sit in storage/breed only.
I am a pokeball purist because I think they look the best. I find great balls to look weirdly conflictive, and ultra balls are okay, but feel a little bland. The only other balls I actually like are luxury balls and cherish balls. Shame the latter is basically unobtainable in mass quantities lmao. Also wish luxury balls weren't so late game, by the time you get access to them, you've already gotten most of your team planned out.
If I could I would have them all in Cherish Balls because I like the design but the devs are bent on having it "Event Onry"
Poke balls only
They're the only ball you get from npc trading, eggs and such
Plus they're iconic
This but I also use premier balls
Ah a fellow Poke Ball only Chad
>find shiny
>accidentally throw the wrong ball
>insta catches
>find out its a marked shiny
JUST

I wish....hopefully I'll develop Stockholm syndrome for this one eventually....nickit in a net ball isn't that bad, r-right?
Idk a fox cought in a net ball seems cool if you are into the hunter motif
That's not a bad perspective honestly. I'm mostly glad the colors match pretty well, but it's wonky having theivul come out of a watery net

Only exeption is starters.
Also this

Friend Balls only. I make sure I only use Pokemon that have their friendship maxxed out.

All shinies in luxury balls where possible. Otherwise, this is what I think of balltism.
All normal pokemon in normal pokeballs, legendaries in premiums, shiny gets a color coded ball
Net ball for a cool ball for a water type
Love ball for female or pink Pokemon
luxury balls for awesome Pokemon like Legendaries or anything shiny
Quick ie just for Deck filling
Forgot to add heal ball to my list as an alternative for the love ball depending on if I like for the Pokemon in question

Strange Ball have strange aesthetics that lured me in.

I usually color match.
My entire team has to be Pokeballs. Except maybe a special Pokemon in an Ultra/Master/Premier ball.
Nothing specific, but I like the team I'm using to all have different balls.
I just use cool balls
Net Balls, Dusk Balls and obviously, the best of them, Heavy Balls.
I like Level Balls too but they're so stupidly rare
I still have to push Up+B and when the ball is thrown and release it when the Pokemon enters the ball.
Gay Pokémon in Love Balls

Luxury Ball for everyone
All my pokemon have to have the supreme drip which is the Luxury ball.
