I was in a player owned house during a party one time doing PvP. The guy I was fighting had a DDP+ and I forgot I was wearing a ring of life. So I got teleported out of the house while nearly fatally poisoned. I panicked and logged out immediately. The next day I got a friend from school to log on with the Lunar spell book at the school's computer lab to cast cure poison on me if I was still alive. Turns out I was and fortunately had enough time left to get cured. Then I complained on the forums and I think they made ring of life cure status later.

I've done a lot of barrowing and picked up over a hundred pieces, it's not so bad once you have it down to a system.
I got really lucky when I was a noob, this was before the grand exchange update. I was doing barrows runs at a really low level, enough that other people barrowing would comment on it. but I had well over 90 magic so it was doable, and the first piece I got doing this jank method was a veracs helm, which happened to be something like 20-30m at the time. was by far the most money I ever had at the time.

One time my brother walked down to Falador near the Falador farm and A level 3 player just died to a thief, and that player had lots of money and rune items, I think around a milion coins which was a lot to us so of curse we picked that up.
Frick, I'd love to play OSRS if the community was how it used to be. I miss the days of playing castle wars where everyone wasn't in end-game bis gear. Chilling while high alching on the castle wars wall, edgeville wildy ditch, etc. Running double nats making 1m+ gp an hour which was baller money back then. The autismo community that still plays has ruined the game by focusing on efficiency rather than fun.

You really had all sorts of people in these early MMOs and more so with runescape with how easy it was to access it as long as you had a computer with an internet connection.

I remember scaprsclayer alongside that boomhunters f2p clan, it was pretty fun until it was revealed that scaprslayer was used as a luring clan to gather up f2p noobs from pvp worlds mostly in their 90 combat levels and then once the trust is build they would lead all the members into demonic ruins and an opposite clan which was mostly 120+s would show up and slaughter everybody which had superior coordination and numbers

I've been muted for "scamming" when me and a friend were pretending to trade a santa hat back and forth. We each had one and thought it'd be funny to only wear one at a time, so we'd "trade" it to each other when it was the other guy's turn to wear his (which never left his inventory). At one point I ran off saying "lol scammed" or something when I pretend-refused to pretend-trade him. This was in varrock square on a f2p world and I ended up getting reported.

RS god lore was so much better when it was just Good Blue Guy vs Bad Red Guy with mysterious Green Guy there somewhere and the other races had their own relatively unknown gods. game completely jumped the shark when it entered the sixth age and le morally grey writing
runescape had an interesting way of introducing lore to players simply by seeing the weird items that other hight level players used.
for the most part the lore was pretty impenetrable to lower tier players because the only real way to learn more was doing high level quests
The way Runescape originally handled gods and its lore was so much more fascinating and mysterious

I've done a lot of barrowing and picked up over a hundred pieces, it's not so bad once you have it down to a system.
I got really lucky when I was a noob, this was before the grand exchange update. I was doing barrows runs at a really low level, enough that other people barrowing would comment on it. but I had well over 90 magic so it was doable, and the first piece I got doing this jank method was a veracs helm, which happened to be something like 20-30m at the time. was by far the most money I ever had at the time.

As a kid and ESL I got scammed, with the old trade system, I just offered warhammer to randoms though trade.
one guy offer significate amount of coins and I Instantly clicked agree lots of time, he changed the amount to same number but with less zeros, it was something like that, he might have at first cancel the trade and sent trade request again and I then change the amount.
One time my brother walked down to Falador near the Falador farm and A level 3 player just died to a thief, and that player had lots of money and rune items, I think around a milion coins which was a lot to us so of curse we picked that up.
Frick, I'd love to play OSRS if the community was how it used to be. I miss the days of playing castle wars where everyone wasn't in end-game bis gear. Chilling while high alching on the castle wars wall, edgeville wildy ditch, etc. Running double nats making 1m+ gp an hour which was baller money back then. The autismo community that still plays has ruined the game by focusing on efficiency rather than fun.
That and the game is like at least 50% bots now, lmao.
It's the unfortunate thing for Runescape and any game like it where it has been around for so long that the only way for people to enjoy it anymore is to minmax everything and have no time to really sit down and enjoy themselves.
The old community and comfiness of it was really a product of its time and we'll never quite get something like it again.
