Anon that took that pic here
I just beat the mermaids, I don't think Expert is too bad once you get used to controls and how tevi moves. I might go back to RR after this because I only did that on normal and BEX looks fun
It's the first boss of the game that actually is capable of killing you. Everything up to Lily is basically a tutorial, so the journo-tier morons were getting filtered there.
I see, if they get past this they will drop the game at the pyramid boss kek.
Maybe I was there too early because most of my attacks did like 1-3 damage.

She doesn't do anything the while fight until you trigger her burst phase. Took me a bit to realise the green exploding orbs are homing projectiles after they explode but the rest was easy going. Felt like a discount Sharo.
In general, all bosses so far (I'm only in ch2, mind you) seem to have a lot of attacks that are only aimed one direction which can be countered by simply getting behind them. Rabi-Ribi was about constantly filling the whole screen with shit during each attack with a little downtime in between. I really hope additional later bosses and/or difficulties rectify this.
It's weird because in Rabi-Ribi it was the complete opposite, with early bosses being extremely rough with few exceptions like Cicini and Kotori but then they become very easy with a few spikes here and there until Irisu and dlc.
Just finished chapter 4. So far I'd put Void Stranger and Pizza Tower above it, but that's more praise for them than a knock against Tevi. Game's great.
It's probably a lot of that yeah, its not even really a "weebshit is ok when nintendo does it" because people gushed nonstop about persona 5 and as far as relatively mainstream things go, it doesn't get much more "weebshit" than ATLUS
How about selling it for les than $20 like any reasonable amateur game that doesn't have a 200 million dollar budget? I’ve invested six years of my life into working on a game I am only willing to list for $10 max and the game is a fairly massive semi open world setting.
>the game is a fairly massive semi open world setting.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA WHY CAN'T PEOPLE REALIZE THAT THIS DOESNT MAKE A GAME GOOD, ITS THE OPPOSITE
Tevi is trash because (one of the 200 reasons) the map is so fricking big
This game looks like cheap haremshit ala touhou for stinky fat otakufricks who frick bodypillows and cum on figurines.
Why the frick do you expect normalgays to like it?
>Rabi-Ribi has an extreme commitment to nonlinearity and sequence breaking >including complete support for playthroughs that skip whatever key upgrades you want for unique challenge runs >players can compensate not having upgrades with their mastery of movement mechanics >TEVI completely ditches this design philosophy and railroads the player into a mandatory and linear upgrade order and gets rid of all movement tech
the game was still enjoyable but i was honestly really disappointed in that regression in design philosophy
After you beat the game once you get a free roam modifier for future runs that allows that gives you the hidden movement techs from rabi-ribi.
That said, it should've just been enabled from the start.
yeah im aware but i cant play it since the game forces you to play through a normal run of infernal bbq before you can do infernal bbq freeroam so im stuck playing the default mode for a second time now
How does the valkyrie questlines end? They were supposed to be finding that lazy angel. But all that happened was I met them at the station and blushwood
Anyone? I can't progress because a white block is in the way of progression, and these inputs deciding to suddenly stop working even though they were working 100% of the time earlier today. I restarted the game but that didn't fix anything.

Yeah, they added a new toggle. Go into the options and change strong attacks control.
This is just dumb
Spanner bash is one of the few things you'd want to do outside of combat
Both for breaking white blocks and descending long passages quickly (spanner is faster than quickdrop)
I posted about this in the last thread but it died before I got a response. I'm stuck in this room. Its one where a few waves of enemies spawn, but once I kill them, the event to let me out never triggers and the combat music keeps going. Has anyone made it past this point on speedrun infernal mode? I think the auto cutsceen skipper might be broken.
So after trying a couple things and nothing working, I loaded up my other save and realized that room isn't mandatory after looking at the map. I guess the solution for now is to just not go in it.
>Music
There are a couple good tracks, but definitely worse overall. >Gameplay
The combat is better, but you have less movement options. You're pretty much locked to the main path unlike RR which lets you wherever you want from the start. >Story
There's a lot of it. Dunno if its any good, I started skipping shit pretty early on. >Characters
See above. They aren't as cute as RR girls.
>Music
Mostly forgettable shit and there are some really good songs still. I heard one of the new composers is the Nobeta guy and that soundtrack sucks shit so it's no surprise >Gameplay
Far more technical combat but it's a pain in the ass to explore and being locked to story progression for major upgrades sucks >Story
Dogshit, completely >Characters
Not 100% female cast so it's worse
>Music
I'm in Chapter 5 but so far the only standout theme is Venom >Gameplay
Better, some binds could be better but Tevi can do a lot more than Erina >Story
worse because it affects the world design. You are railroaded to do it >Characters
I could care less about them. The pink mermaid and demon Sable's sister are cute but I can't even remember their names
>Music
It has some genuinly great tracks. And it's all good, but not quitea s good as RaRi >Gameplay
Combat is a lot better, movement is a bit worse. Difficulty is a lot easier. And bosses are a bit more action oriented versus RaRi's bullet hell focus. >Story
Done entierly through long boring exposition. Also, it's pretty much all "we are all the same" cringe. >Characters
Way more male characters than female. There are gay characters, a troony and femboy. The said annoying femboy also in your group and all the female characters in the game is constantly doting on him.
Basicly every character is written by an avid BL reader
>Music
I'm in the minority with this one, but I didn't find Rabi Ribi's OST to be all that great. It had only a small handful of tracks that I actually liked. I think TEVI's is vastly superior and has tons of tracks that I would listen to on my own time outside of the game, and it's very often where I'd think to myself how good the music sounds and just sit there for about a minute taking it in, which I rarely ever did for RR.
>Gameplay
I prefer RR's combat but I prefer TEVI's depth and versatility. I don't like having to use half of my entire keyboard just to fight a boss, but I think all the extra in-depth stuff works in TEVI's favor when it comes to actually exploring the world, because the "exploration" in RR was pretty bottom of the barrel. The only time I feel TEVI's combat isn't an overcomplicated nuisance is when I'm fighting basic enemies out in the world.
>Story
I don't find any of the stories particularly good or interesting, but I felt more intrigued with TEVI's worldbuilding so I'd probably give it to TEVI just on that alone. And at the very least, I can actually follow along with what's going on this time, whereas with RR I was scratching my head wondering what we (the player) are even doing at points.
>Characters
Actual characters or just waifus? I think TEVi's cast is a lot more fun and colorful, primarily due to the voice acting which RR lacked. They're still not very well written, but they're more enjoyable to engage with. No if we're talking strictly about waifus, then RR has TEVI beat, but only by virtue of it having an all female cast. It wins out in quantity.
tl;dr
Music is better in TEVI
Boss combat is better in RR and exploring/general combat is better in TEVI
TEVI has better worldbuilding and a more digestible story, so better than RR (still not very good though)
Characters are better in TEVI, but RR is better with waifus
Still love both games, beat BEX and am planning to beat BBQ
>Music
I liked a few selected tracks in Tevi but overall it's a pretty huge downgrade especially in boss fights.
>Gameplay
No idea why it's praised so much, it's pretty much just RR but the Sigils make it an rpg-lite. You eventually have too many moves that are just useless and lower your dps. The world design is completely closed off and railroaded the first time you play. The bosses are easy and have far les bullets, move slower, there's more room to dodge and less patterns to learn.
>Story
Absolutely fricking awful with many characters that were introduced never appearing again (most likely due to VA costs). For example you meet some demon with a terminal illness and later fight to get her cure but she just downright never appears again after you get the cure for her and sit never mentioned again. People are constantly interrupting your gameplay with awful dialogue. Characters that were introduced for 3 minutes out of nowhere die and it's somehow a big deal. Dialogue is SoL-tier anime trash going on about random topics like bl doujins, waffles xDDD and other lolso random xDDD stuff.
>Characters
Some characters are fine and okay-ish designed but overall they're annoying and forgettable and you never meet them again after 3 dialogue lines. Vena is probably the single most well designed character in the game and she doesn't even stick around as a follower. Everyone is just over designed and the art is ugly tho.
Music is good, but I have not found anything I'll remember fondly as I had with RR.
Mobility upgrades are too tightly coupled to story progression. Fine for the first playthrough, but tanks replayability. Not sure how much freeroam helps, as some items are placed right after/before bosses. Tewi herself has deeper combat mechanics.
Cast is great, even if too quirky/cliche. And the trap should have been flatter. But maybe it's just my bias towards haughty winged elves.
Story attempts to tie things up neater than RR, but would have benefitted from interconnections/branching and "show, not tell". You can get to the alcoholic village and characters will act like they already have a quest, or you can get to the plague village, get nothing, and once you get a quest get comments halfway through the section leading to the village on how large it is. Also pyramid was not properly explained again. I like the acting and small talk, but can see people just skipping all of it.
Gameplay is both better and worse. They added too many defensive mechanics, and the whole break system only helps to trivialize bosses, only a few boss like Malphage or Memloch make decent use of it. The improved sigil builds also mean that you could find yourself so op that boss will melt in a few minutes while in a constant break state.
The boss themselves are much easier and have been given lots of useless patterns you can easily avoid by going behind, which added to the previous point can make them feel extremely weak.
Exploring the map however feels much better thanks to more interesting base enemies and overall better placement. There's just a few duds here and there like one robot that leaves puddle of fire in small corridors if you kill them.
The game is rather linear but becomes RR tier on a larger scale when doing a free roam mode, sadly this is locked behind finishing the game, and the unlockable difficulty forces you to finish it in story mode before being usable in said mode.
Story is better than Rabi Ribi simply because there's actually something but it's still pretty bad.
Characters are as good as the story, so not very much. I didn't mind the character design themselves, i think there's more good looking one that terrible looking characters, and they have overall more depth than the one note cliche of RR. However as a coomer i will say that i preferred Rabi Ribi in this aspect.
It's still a great game, but personally it pales in comparison to RR for me because the boss fights are not nearly as good which was the main reason i loved this game, and the map is arguably too big. When i stopped playing Rabi Ribi i was utterly in admiration of the whole post game sequence, and the brilliant final that was Irisu. There is nothing of the sort to be seen here.
I'm at chapter 6 so I didn't finish the game yet. > Music
Boss music is worse, level music is better > Gameplay
Combat is greatly improved, but the linearity sucks. > Story
Evil corruption does corruption with tons of villains of the chapter. Too much talking which makes thing hard to understand, there isn't flow between events nearly at all despite the linearity. It's also Shadow the Hedgehog level of edgy at times. > Characters
Huge downgrade. Half of the cast is male with barely any interactions between each other because the game sucks it's own dick on how edgy it is, but it's really a generic fantasy.
Overall it's a fun game, mostly because of much improved combat, fun platforming and more variety in terms of bosses. I fully recommend this game, but it's just like Tevi herself - bunny ears are fake and so is the illusion of Rabi-Ribi 2.
The Mountain Dew Black person was way worse than Memelock. Memelock was just obnoxious to hit, Mountain Dew Black person had its annoying fricking blastbombs land right on top of me constantly or nonsensically detonate when I was trying to launch them as well as being obnoxious to hit
It's so clear the creator of this is super fixated on the story, like they think it's the hottest shit ever. Free-roam mode not being the default? It's because you need to see the STORY. I've heard that's the reason she got GemaYue to make a game for her, entirely as a method of delivery.
But then the story itself is complete shit. Maybe that's being too harsh, but only because it doesn't exist enough to deserve adjectives at all. 80-90% of the time playing the game is the party just dicking off following the last thing that happened, and when that's resolved they'll move onto something else and it'll never be relevant again. You don't even hear if the flower ended up curing the demon's sister!
That remaining 10-20% isn't great either. It's you grabbing astral gears for your dad, who never asked you to and you're doing it because you think they're maybe slightly useful you guess. But in the ending they were a critical part of his grand keikaku and nothing would have happened without it. What the hell was his original plan?
And there are other weird things like how the golden hand boss has a mind-control chip, which is the only mind-control chip owned by anyone other than the flute guy? And the flute itself is the counter to the legendary artifact the evil Queen owns, but you defeat her without it being brought up. It ends up being used to rescue you from out-of-reality banishment, but then the banishment itself was totally arbitrary and it's not like it was foreshadowed or even mentioned that the flute could do that anyway. It was a mind-control flute, totally different.
It's a truly bizarre thing that someone thought this was interesting in any way.
Flower cured her but she's still going be stuck in her current form. I think if the creator wanted pure delivery a VN would make more sense.
>Flower cured her but she's still going be stuck in her current form.
I don't think there's a mention of it anywhere, not even from Sable's sister. Partly because you went to Ulvosa to help out Fray, who got complications from demonification. I kinda wish Sable would also talk with his sister about him meeting mermaids and about snow...

It's not too harsh to all the story complete shit, I'd do it to the writer's face if it didn't make them feel awful
The story tries really hard to make this deep, emotional set of events with characters getting killed off and having these complex emotions that go into their decisions but it's all framed in the most lame way possible and no one can really be expected to care about any of the events that happen
Most plot threads are totally dropped because they're inconvenient to resolve, asspulls are all over the place, several fights happen only due to a lack of talking things out when the characters LOVE talking, and the setting is not established well enough to warrant how much time is spent saying nothing of value about it
It's really impressive how fricking pathetic this writing is, Rabi-Ribi had a better story because it just said "go hit people and frick the white hair girl" and you did exactly that with some off the wall psycho bunny drama sprinkled in near the end, all the dialogue in that game took 10-15 minutes to read by the end while Tevi is taking 10-15 minutes per chapter to say nothing
It did, but it was mostly an excuse plot and served to provide a basis for the gameplay. Which is to say, like all good metroidvanias, the plot was not in your face and in the way.
So what? Who cares if it's "more"? Rabi-Ribi devoted almost none of its resources to writing because the writing wasn't even remotely important. It focused on other things instead. Tevi tries to focus a lot more on story, and that would be fine if the story was actually good and integrated well, but it isn't. It's a huge waste of time with by-the-numbers plot beats and reveals. It's not interesting. Putting so many resources into voice acting everything and having these long story sections was pointless because they added nothing of value to the game.
Rabi-ribi didn't have a story..
Yes it did, it was just very brief and not that complicated. Which is fine.
I actually agree with that, genuinely preferred it over RabiRibi's.
Having a boss take my ass dry for hours at a time because 'oopsies I'm so clumsy I keep accidentally attacking you' made my blood boil.
Tevi's dialogue wasted my time but at least that's the only price I paid for it.
I don't think I'd ever bother with vanilla fusion in this day and age. The non-linear romhack that opens things up and remains mostly the same is a far better experience.
that's fine for a replay but fusion's still worth playing in its original form, whereas for tevi there is a lot more of an argument you could make to just immediately unlock free roam from the start
The non-linear romhack can be played entirely linearly exactly like the original fusion if you so desire. It just removes the door lockdown and adds some extra connectivity. I'm pretty sure you could run a vanilla fusion TAS on the non-linear hack and it'd still work.
Any songs by Dance with the Dead I think, The Plagued Forest replaces Venom on streamer mode for instance. I don't really see the point of including licensed music when they compose original tracks for the stages anyway, but they're some of the best in the game nonetheless.
>both her and the dio dude use their fight ending attack when they still have a full healthbar left >no rematch with the bomb catgirl >no erina and ribbon casino fight >entire zones in the towns that are just closed off
the rabi ribi dlc fights just felt like nice extra additions, but tevi feels like its genuinely missing a lot of content
what's the point of all these fricking triple A voice actors when the story is actually shit enough to be entirely skipped
also doesn't help that cause of the way these obnoxious as frick 20000 cutscenes are that the game is a fricking linear metroidvania now
actually can't believe this is worse than the whatever plot of rabiribi, at least that game's story didn't get in the way of its gameplay

. Clearly whoever was in charge had access to a ton of money to waste on their shitty story no one cares about. Tevi has like 20x the budget it should have for whatever reason. Maybe the producer got some of that Saudi oil money they like to throw at random shit from time to time.
Saying a game is bad while 100% completing it is not shitposting either
If I didn't beat the game, you would cry all the same, if I beat the game, you're still crying
This game is garbage
No, I would expect someone who hates something to stop playing it long before 100% completion. Why would someone spend their leisure time continuing to do something they dislike?
Giving something an honest try is and deciding you don't like it is one thing. 100% completion and declaring it shit is just shitposting.
Don't worry anon, you'll get the hang of shitposting eventually. No one expects mastery of an art on a first attempt!

NTA, but I'm more willing to trust the opinion of someone who 100%'s a game than someone who stops playing after 2 hours, mainly because they put in the time to experience and understand the game from start to finish, which makes their praises and criticisms more valid and their opinions hold more weight since they're based off of a lot more experience. A stronger foundation, if you will.

TEVI expert is Rabi-Ribi hard at the start, then it becomes Rabi-Ribi Casual after a few chapters
Just go with expert and change it to expert++ when you can from your bed
I'm playing on hard and it's somewhat easier than Rabi Ribi's hard. Partially because there's more space to dodge crap, but also there's less bullets flying around.
I started on hard but hard felt like normal so I changed it to hard+ and now its in that sweet spot where I have to actually learn the attack patterns and slowly get better while the bosses beat my ass. I could probably bump it up to expert but if this game has an irisu tier boss I'll probably get filtered
Anyone else have this "problem" while playing on hard?
It say normal under my map icon.
But I started the game on hard, never changed it, it say hard on my save file and in my note book.
But I can't help but wonder if it's still somehow normal, because it say so under the map, and the game feels to easy for hard as well.
Try reading my post again.
I didn't change it. It still say hard on save file, and it still say hard in note book, but it has said normal under the map from the start.
I'm on chapter 7 right now and the chievos that I'm getting says 3.6%, are people really that slow or just not doing them? I'm even a normie who works all day
Hollow Knight is better, but only because its world has a lot of side quests and NPCs to incentivize exploring, whereas Tevi puts more focus on the main story.
I can't mentally stick Hollow Knight in the same bucket as Rabi-ribi/TEVI. They play entirely different and scratch different itches. Hollow Knight feels more like a darksoulsvania than a metroidvania and Rabi-ribi is more like a touhouvania. They're both extreme outliers in the genre.
>getting rewarded for exploring in a metroidvania is... le BAD!
You deserve every bad trend in videogames. I didn't have to grind for a single second during my playthrough.
>to afford all the upgrades in the shop you must defeat 6 ribillion trash enemies
vs >to afford all the upgrades in the shop you must get all the movement upgrades and bomb every single tile in the game
I would be fine with TEVI's way of getting money if good chunk of it weren't hidden behind blowing up random ass unmarked walls and floors.
>to afford all the upgrades in the shop you must defeat 6 ribillion trash enemies
The fact that you are trying to sell this as a positive makes me think you are a profound moron OR you are baiting. Either way this is my last (you). Frick off.

I didn't do anything but grossly oversimplified what it takes to buy all the upgrades.
I swear, waifushit is the only reason these games are so highly rated. Like all waifu games. Even Nepshit, objectively abysmal video games, have extremely positive ratings on Steam.
Look at how many times I got hit. And I still beat it first try....
It's been like that for all the bosses.
I get hit constantly, but still survive and kil them in first or second try.
I have not used any items other than the single cookie I get from entering town either.
That's kind of the point.
I almost always play on normal because I am shit at video games.
Rabi Ribi destroyed me on Normal. Took me 3+ hours to beat Irisu.
I decided to try Tevi on hard to give myself an extra challenge, but it's way way easier than RaRi.
I would. But then the stages themselves would be to hard.
And also, I think the boss paterns are very difficult, as you can see by the amount of times they hit me. It's just that Tevi has to much defence.
I guess I can restrict myself to not using any healing at all.
Except you can do all of hard mode on no hit for the achievements, then do the harder difficulties without being able to tank anything

Pretty sure you can still reliably tank expert, it just gets really slow and requires you to learn enough dodging to stop being meaningful.
Still, RR is easier on paper because you have access to unrestricted healing and amulet auto-refilling. TEVI is just too overtuned with projectile shield and stagger phase duration for more melee-focused fights.
Im yet to beat rabi ribi on BEX, the fricking arbitrary difficulty increase with each item collected is turning me off so hard.
Does new bunny game also has such bullshit?
im an achievement prostitute and beat the hard difficulty on alternative before i realized there is BEX now i want both cheevo for BEX and standard mode but yea i think i should play the game in yet another playthrough
Unless you go out of your way to collect literally everything as soon as possible, I think Alternative should be even harder than standard. I remember accidentally switching to alternative on my first playthrough way back when you couldn't switch back anymore after 3 bosses and the game absolutely destroyed me because my damage output was way too low compared to what the game expected me to have at that point. On the bright side, it really made me dodge all of the attacks the game threw at me so replaying it until hitting impossible was a complete breeze on standard. Standard even lowers the difficulty when you disable some of your unneeded items and badges. I don't think I would have beaten impossible Irisu on Alternative.
for me its complete 180, sure first bosses before game opens filter the shit out of me because you need to play properly, stunlock etc. but after that if you are on alternative every boss turns into a joke. you can mash buttons like a moron and as long as you dodge obvious attack patterns you are good to go
im awful at the hammer+pixie spam attacks, maybe its keyboard thing and i simply cant do it as fast as some japs on videos so standard seems unplayable
As far as I remember alternative difficulty was something like "grab ALL of the upgrades in current segment or be pretty underpowered". That's mostly how I remember final bunch of bosses on hard standard vs alternative. I have missed a decent number of potions and on alternative the fights were lasting forever while standard was pretty comfy.
>current segment
What current segment? Bro, your hidden techs?
You can literally grab almost every single item in the whole world before having to fight a boss.
Obviously I mean snorting all the available upgrades you can get without using hidden tech since you get wienerblocked by some item requirements quite often.
>The artstyle looks like western troony shit
Literally a japanese game focused on skimpy clothed women including pixies so normies scream pedo game and never touch it.
You are mindbroken
I just bought TEVI, how's the difficulty compared to Rabi-Ribi. I've played through Rabi-Ribi multiple times on hard, the next difficulty was too hard. I started Tevi on hard and in the beginning it seems pretty easy, though there's not much advanced stuff yet. Should I bump the difficulty up?
Also, is there a way to fix the uneven frame pacing and motion stutter hopefully without a lot of input lag and tearing. Currently best bet to remove the tearing to turn on vsync and cap below variable refresh rate limit with Rivatuner, which gives perfect frametimes but walking in straight line is still stuttery due to the engine or something.
It's much easier than Rabi Ribi, only a few bosses even come close to RR fights.
The last stretch i could see it being hard (the patterns are great) but nothing that food and a broken sigil build can't power through.
Okay what the frick, the game executable suddenly disappeared and the game closed, and trying to update on Steam says DISK WRITE ERROR. Windows Defender log doesn't say anything and CrystalDiskInfo says the SSD is perfect.
*blocks your path*
Anon that took that pic here
I just beat the mermaids, I don't think Expert is too bad once you get used to controls and how tevi moves. I might go back to RR after this because I only did that on normal and BEX looks fun
People had problems with her? Took me 2 tries on expert.
First boss you can not just face tank
I see, if they get past this they will drop the game at the pyramid boss kek.
Maybe I was there too early because most of my attacks did like 1-3 damage.
>Maybe I was there too early because most of my attacks did like 1-3 damage.
Probably. I spent 2 hours on lily but beat the pyramid group in 2 tries
It's the first boss of the game that actually is capable of killing you. Everything up to Lily is basically a tutorial, so the journo-tier morons were getting filtered there.
I had more problem with the pyramid boss but she was the second one I found.
The bosses only really pick up in Chapter 6. The first one that really handed my ass to me was Memloch.
>$30
Are they insane?
>more fun and more content than most 69.99 + tip games
Are you?
>Sidescroller pixelart metroidvania
No, it's even funnier it shares the name of some bullshit social app on the apple store.
Enjoy your AAA GaaSlop I guess.
Weird how my normie friends won't give this a second look because of its aesthetic, but Xenoblade is perfectly fine.
Does weebshit just suddenly become acceptable when it has AAA budget?
Pretty much. Xenogears also gets the nintendo bonus to it's marketing.
weebshit becomes acceptable when it's Nintendo.
Same with $60 2d platformers - it's ok when Nintendo does it, but when somebody else wants to sell one for $30 you get
It's not even a Nintendo thing. Most people have an extreme aversion to 2D sprites and see them as "cheap" and unappealing.
You didn't develop Rabi-Ribi first, so why should I trust you as a developer? Make a good game first and I'll buy your second one at any price.
>the game is a fairly massive semi open world setting.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA WHY CAN'T PEOPLE REALIZE THAT THIS DOESNT MAKE A GAME GOOD, ITS THE OPPOSITE
Tevi is trash because (one of the 200 reasons) the map is so fricking big
>thing I don't like is objectively le bad
kys, big maps are great, the only issue with Tevi's map is that it's not open enough
It's not that good tbh, kinda boring even.
The gameplay of Tevi is just not that interesting looking.
This game looks like cheap haremshit ala touhou for stinky fat otakufricks who frick bodypillows and cum on figurines.
Why the frick do you expect normalgays to like it?
Should I play Rabi-Ribi before this?
It's gameplay is largely an expansion on rabi-ribi's mechanics.
Do what you want but it's absolutely not necessary
It has cuter girls so yes.
>Rabi-Ribi has an extreme commitment to nonlinearity and sequence breaking
>including complete support for playthroughs that skip whatever key upgrades you want for unique challenge runs
>players can compensate not having upgrades with their mastery of movement mechanics
>TEVI completely ditches this design philosophy and railroads the player into a mandatory and linear upgrade order and gets rid of all movement tech
the game was still enjoyable but i was honestly really disappointed in that regression in design philosophy
After you beat the game once you get a free roam modifier for future runs that allows that gives you the hidden movement techs from rabi-ribi.
That said, it should've just been enabled from the start.
yeah im aware but i cant play it since the game forces you to play through a normal run of infernal bbq before you can do infernal bbq freeroam so im stuck playing the default mode for a second time now
Yeah, what the frick is up with that choice? Is there something that will unlock on infernal run?
How does the valkyrie questlines end? They were supposed to be finding that lazy angel. But all that happened was I met them at the station and blushwood
Why aren't these working for me? Whenever I press down/up + space, it just makes me dash instead. Did the update mess something up?
Anyone? I can't progress because a white block is in the way of progression, and these inputs deciding to suddenly stop working even though they were working 100% of the time earlier today. I restarted the game but that didn't fix anything.
Yeah, they added a new toggle. Go into the options and change strong attacks control.
Holy shit, thank you. I was losing my mind
This is just dumb
Spanner bash is one of the few things you'd want to do outside of combat
Both for breaking white blocks and descending long passages quickly (spanner is faster than quickdrop)
Is there any mod to fix this? This area isn't drawn adequately.
>
>Yes it did, it was just very brief and not that complicated. Which is fine.
>>>

You can't fix perfection
I posted about this in the last thread but it died before I got a response. I'm stuck in this room. Its one where a few waves of enemies spawn, but once I kill them, the event to let me out never triggers and the combat music keeps going. Has anyone made it past this point on speedrun infernal mode? I think the auto cutsceen skipper might be broken.
Definitely sounds like a bug yes.
So after trying a couple things and nothing working, I loaded up my other save and realized that room isn't mandatory after looking at the map. I guess the solution for now is to just not go in it.
>How does it rank alongside other indies from this year?
Easily the best one released this year besides Void Stranger
How do you break the white blocks?
How does it compare to rabi ribi?
Music - gameplay - Story - Characters
Upgrade from the ice cave.
>Music
Mostly forgettable shit and there are some really good songs still. I heard one of the new composers is the Nobeta guy and that soundtrack sucks shit so it's no surprise
>Gameplay
Far more technical combat but it's a pain in the ass to explore and being locked to story progression for major upgrades sucks
>Story
Dogshit, completely
>Characters
Not 100% female cast so it's worse
>Music
I'm in Chapter 5 but so far the only standout theme is Venom
>Gameplay
Better, some binds could be better but Tevi can do a lot more than Erina
>Story
worse because it affects the world design. You are railroaded to do it
>Characters
I could care less about them. The pink mermaid and demon Sable's sister are cute but I can't even remember their names
>Music
It has some genuinly great tracks. And it's all good, but not quitea s good as RaRi
>Gameplay
>Music
Way worse
>Gameplay
Way worse
>Story
lol
>Characters
lol
Music is worse
> Music
Boss music is worse, level music is better
> Gameplay
Well, I mean, it's not Rabi-ribi 2. That's Love Bunny, which is still in development by GemaYue.
The Mountain Dew Black person was way worse than Memelock. Memelock was just obnoxious to hit, Mountain Dew Black person had its annoying fricking blastbombs land right on top of me constantly or nonsensically detonate when I was trying to launch them as well as being obnoxious to hit
Which one was that?
The boss of Ulvosa
Eidolon I'm guessing.
Rabi-ribi didn't have a story..
And that's a good thing.
It did, but it was mostly an excuse plot and served to provide a basis for the gameplay. Which is to say, like all good metroidvanias, the plot was not in your face and in the way.
I've played the game for 1 hour and NPCs can't shut the frick up with their inane moronation. I want to kill every NPC in the game.
It's still more than "bunnies xD"
The problem is that rabi-ribi's bnuuyxD excuse plot actually made sense.
>Walks up
>Motorboats you
This is peak storytelling and you know it.
>western nose
Which makes it worse
The Metroid Fusion of Rabi-Ribi- oh wait, even Fusion had one cheeky dev sequence break which even has an Easter Egg
Haven't finished it yet but I grabbed the soundtrack and god damn, is Replica one of the streamer mode tracks? It fully kicks ass.
I think so, most of the streamer mode songs are weaker than their licensed counterparts but Replica is great.
What songs do they have that would get copyright strikes? What the frick?
is the only one I know
Any songs by Dance with the Dead I think, The Plagued Forest replaces Venom on streamer mode for instance. I don't really see the point of including licensed music when they compose original tracks for the stages anyway, but they're some of the best in the game nonetheless.
it's funny how the challenge quest in the pyramid is way worse than the other ones. those infinite respawn bats are peak aids
DLC or update for a rematch with the head b***h when?
>both her and the dio dude use their fight ending attack when they still have a full healthbar left
>no rematch with the bomb catgirl
>no erina and ribbon casino fight
>entire zones in the towns that are just closed off
the rabi ribi dlc fights just felt like nice extra additions, but tevi feels like its genuinely missing a lot of content
cute snowmen
what's the point of all these fricking triple A voice actors when the story is actually shit enough to be entirely skipped
also doesn't help that cause of the way these obnoxious as frick 20000 cutscenes are that the game is a fricking linear metroidvania now
actually can't believe this is worse than the whatever plot of rabiribi, at least that game's story didn't get in the way of its gameplay
Basically this
. Clearly whoever was in charge had access to a ton of money to waste on their shitty story no one cares about. Tevi has like 20x the budget it should have for whatever reason. Maybe the producer got some of that Saudi oil money they like to throw at random shit from time to time.
This, honestly. Tevi is completely riding on Rabi Ribi's hype but the writer acts like her story and worldbuilding is the best shit ever.
AAAAAAAAAAAA HOW DO I GET THIS ROOM
I HAVE LOOKED UP A MAP AND IT DIDN'T HELP
IT'S MY LAST ONE TO 100%
PLEASE
I HAVE LOOKED AT A CHINESE GUIDE
IT IS TO THE RIGHT
BUT THERE IS NOTHING
I HAVE BOMBED ALL CONCEIVABLE TILES IN ALL ADJACENT ROOMS
use the blocks that were here originally
Thank you.
Now that's done, I can finally try Infernal BBQ.
This
Put a bomb on top of the 3 block pillar that was there.
breddy gud/10. Has some horseshit like plot cutscenes teleporting you against your will because frick you, but otherwise I like it a lot.
This looks like porn, why is it not porn?
?
Yeah ima need sauce on that chief
Sauce. Now.
You know there really isn't much TEVI art on pixiv. You could just look.
https://www.pixiv.net/en/artworks/112152488
I commissioned that a while back, luckily I added to keep the hat on before confirming her human status. Oh well.
It's just Rabi-Rabi but tighter all around, bretty gud but not GOTY material of any kind for me
Finally got wall jump but frick me, it fels harder to do than in rabi ribi, I keep jetpacking midway the jumps
Stop pressing up.
Ok, but why is there a violin near the top of the mountain?
Vena mode when?
The worst game I played this year, if Love Bunny isn't good, then Rabi-Ribi was just a one hit wonder
ironic shitposting is still shitposting
Saying a game is bad is not shitposting
Saying a game is bad while also posting a personal picture of your 100% completion however, is shitposting.
Because I enjoy going for all achievements in games I buy, it doesn't mean I enjoy the game
Saying you can't find a game bad just because you did a 100% run of it is moronic
ignore the shitposter dude
Don't reply to yourself schizo
NTA, but I'm more willing to trust the opinion of someone who 100%'s a game than someone who stops playing after 2 hours, mainly because they put in the time to experience and understand the game from start to finish, which makes their praises and criticisms more valid and their opinions hold more weight since they're based off of a lot more experience. A stronger foundation, if you will.
there's someone with 60 hours and a negative review on steam and their review was just there to farm clowns, you can't trust shitposters
How do the difficulty levels compare to Rabi? Should I just default to Expert for a similar experience?
TEVI expert is Rabi-Ribi hard at the start, then it becomes Rabi-Ribi Casual after a few chapters
Just go with expert and change it to expert++ when you can from your bed
expert is harder than hard difficulty in rbrb
Expert feels like Rabi-ribi's hard to me.
You changed it by accident the first time you slept in the bed.
Try reading my post again.
I didn't change it. It still say hard on save file, and it still say hard in note book, but it has said normal under the map from the start.
Let me reiterate then for your moronic ass: you are on normal difficulty.
What's the deal with the + difficulties? Is it just more damage but still the same patterns?
Yeah, + is just more numbers.
I like the store music
I'm on chapter 7 right now and the chievos that I'm getting says 3.6%, are people really that slow or just not doing them? I'm even a normie who works all day
Slow.
I only on chapter 5, been playing about 13 hours.
This is the kind of game that I can only get myself to play for a few hours a day.
Even on normal difficulty, the game took me around 20 hours to beat, it’s not something you’re going to digest in one sitting.
The game seems good but worse than Hollow Knight. Am I wrong or correct?
I hate Hollow Knight with a passion, and I would say you're correct
You are moronic.
They're both extreme outliers in the genre.
>chibishit
Aaand I'm out
tf, where the pants at?
Rabi-Ribi > La-Mulana > literal shit > Hollow Knight > TEVI
La-Mulana isn't even a metroidvania, it's a cryptic puzzle resource management simulator
Actually, La-Mulana is an Archaeological Ruin Exploration Action Game
>rabiribi but worse in every way
What a shame
Am I wasting my time trying to find a pixel that will let me reach?
yes
Yes, bombs are per grid. If they never leave their current square, the explosion will always come from the squares Center.
...can't you just stand on the lower platform and toss it in?
>Go to shop
>Left dude has 15 new badges every time
>You cannot farm money from regular enemies
Take me back...
>take me back to a worse system
>get consistent money from killing enemies, or get random crafting materials from killing enemies
Gee wiz, I do wonder which one is worse.
>getting rewarded for exploring in a metroidvania is... le BAD!
You deserve every bad trend in videogames. I didn't have to grind for a single second during my playthrough.
>to afford all the upgrades in the shop you must defeat 6 ribillion trash enemies
vs
>to afford all the upgrades in the shop you must get all the movement upgrades and bomb every single tile in the game
>Buying badges
>When you find badges lying around
>When you yourself can make badges
Why are there money in cracked stones?
I swear, waifushit is the only reason these games are so highly rated. Like all waifu games. Even Nepshit, objectively abysmal video games, have extremely positive ratings on Steam.
Rabi-Ribi is a genuinely good game, you wouldn't know since you probably play trash games
>you probably play trash games
Obviously, I played Rabi-Ribi for a few hours and it was trash, so I play trash games.
Filtered, the devs have your money so I don't care about shilling it now
Yeah, the game sure got filtered by being shit. I'll give it a pity finish some day to get it out of my backlog.
Ty for the money
No problem, just know your game is trash and that I will pirate all your future games just to call them shit and make you assmad in these threads.
Ty for the money!
Cool, did you pirate Last Command?
No, I'm playing a better Troonvania than Rabi-Ribi now.
>easy game you can just mash in
Hehe, I knew it
>mash
You can hold down the attack button, moron. I bet you mash your genitals to bunnygirls.
>auto gameplay
Hehe, YWNBAGamer
Understandable, you seem to be a bit of a mongoloid so I can imagine you don't even know how to pirate shit.
I did download Last Command off of rutracker, but all the torrent contained was a zip file with pictures of your parents fricking.
literally filtered
Jeg skjems over deg.
huh?
The heck is that?
>Lingering hit-box
>Immediate overhead
>Slides out of your melee range
I’ll never forgive Gema for this
Tevibros no...
hatesex with bun
I wish that was me
I guess I'm going to let this one sit in the backlog until it's 70% off then.
I played a good chunk of the demo and it was good.
Look at how many times I got hit. And I still beat it first try....
It's been like that for all the bosses.
I get hit constantly, but still survive and kil them in first or second try.
I have not used any items other than the single cookie I get from entering town either.
Forgot pic.
>hard
might as well play on easy
That's kind of the point.
I almost always play on normal because I am shit at video games.
Rabi Ribi destroyed me on Normal. Took me 3+ hours to beat Irisu.
I decided to try Tevi on hard to give myself an extra challenge, but it's way way easier than RaRi.
Use your bed to change the difficulty.
I would. But then the stages themselves would be to hard.
And also, I think the boss paterns are very difficult, as you can see by the amount of times they hit me. It's just that Tevi has to much defence.
I guess I can restrict myself to not using any healing at all.
You can facetank Hard once you get healing bombs and green magic in RR, Irisu and shmup sections being the exception.
I don't understand how the compass works
Look at this and tell me this is a good game, you can just tank every boss to death while barely dodging things
It's a good game.
total shitposter death
>achievement for talking to random town npcs
yep, I'm never 100%ing this
>fake bnuuy game shilled by fake women
not surprising
Ribbon is lewd!
Chapter 6 spoilers - what the point of Sable's sacrifice when he gets healed not even 5 minutes later? It just feels like needless drama.
>he doesn't know
Congratulations, you figured out why the writing is shit in this game.
He should have gotten replaced with Fray
That would have had way more impact and been more heartwrenching than the you are already dead in chapter 8
Now that's a good idea.
Oh, it's out?
This could have all been resolved if that loser had dicked both of those moronic queens instead of cucking one
Im yet to beat rabi ribi on BEX, the fricking arbitrary difficulty increase with each item collected is turning me off so hard.
Does new bunny game also has such bullshit?
Have you considered playing BEX on Alternative instead of the original difficulty, anon?
im an achievement prostitute and beat the hard difficulty on alternative before i realized there is BEX now i want both cheevo for BEX and standard mode but yea i think i should play the game in yet another playthrough
you picked the WRONG fricking game to be an achievement prostitute for
its a perfect game to be an achievement prostitute for
everyone can 100% bullshit like hollow knight or ori
Did the RR manga ever continue? Last I remember it ended on magical girl almost getting her shit slapped by Erina
Look you can't just throw this sexy bunny girl on the front page like that.
Is there any pron of amaretta yet?
The artstyle looks like western troony shit, is it any good?
>The artstyle looks like western troony shit
Literally a japanese game focused on skimpy clothed women including pixies so normies scream pedo game and never touch it.
You are mindbroken
He's not wrong. It's the RWBY artist. Normalhomosexuals can't tell the difference between anime and fake anime.
Is there a guide for the misty maze yet? I'm missing the square to the right of the bunny room
