if you think they aren't milking this past the dlc you are nuts
This!
Ds3 and sekiro might have temporarily gotten peoples attention but elden ring put it center stage for months on end. Even my 45 year old brother in law who barely plays games picked up elden ring because of how big it was
>1.5 years since release
>still no DLC
So when do they start "milking" it?
nintendo and EA would've had 5 DLCs out by now
Fromsoftware owns the IP. Miyazaki said in an interview he will do no sequels unless a sequel can expand its lore way beyond the scope of the expansion(s) and surely not soon anyway
people need to realize how much this homie hates doing sequels
Yeah we will.. but you won't be alive to see it. Nothing personnel kiddo.
first time playthrough of this game was magical replaying it feels like a bit of a slog
Yup. The hype really got me through the needlesly recycled and padded shitty parts. But I can't say it has aged well on repeat plythroughs. Probably my least favourite From game.
just started it last night. so far, it's basically Demon's Souls that doesn't run like shit.
I went in blind and did Caelid after beating Godrick. I thought Limgrave is vast, Weeping Peninsula too, and Caelid is massive. So I guess just the Capital is left. I was stunned with how massive the map is once I discovered Liurnia and realised I just did 1/4th of the map, and that I can go anywhere I see in pic rel. The fact that the world map zooms out as you discover more areas is genius, it hides just how huge the game is.
Haha, the game has surprises for you, anon
wait till you see the underground
Elden Ring will always be overbloated Dark Souls 4 with horse and nothing more. Low IQ people think open world is revolutionary when all you do is doing same repetitive shit with shitty combat system that barely evolved over Demon's Souls and can't support a game that's 150 hours. One of the reasons why their next game will have a different combat system because there is only so much you can do with """"realistic""""" combat.
The Colosseum was just a massive arena. The Pyramid of Giza is just a massive pyramid. The Great Wall of China is just a massive wall. None of these things are revolutionary, they're just a bigger and better version of things that existed before them. Elden Ring is the same. Elden Ring to Dark Souls 3 is more massive than Dark Souls 3 is to Demon's Souls. The sheer scale of Elden Ring compared to the other souls game is mindblowing. Its nothing new, nothing revolutionary, but goddamn its big.
>Elden Ring is the same
>He thinks bigger is better
Picrel. Also bigger isn't better when people don't even replay it let alone finish it. Elden Ring is least replayable souls game due to it's size, no one wants to go 100 hours in order to get a spell for their build.
Open world is literally low IQ goyslop genre. Why do you think game sales skyrocket when series goes open world? Same happened to Zelda, same happened to Witcher, same happened to Elden Ring. Even happened with racing games. Forza Horizon was a spinoff back then, now it's the main series and Motorsport is spinoff. Also not like Dark Souls wasn't open world already, it's open world metroidvanialike rather than ubishitlike.
>why the frick are you complaining about opyional content?
>Dude it's okay if optional content(90% of the game) is shit! You can skip them and be severely underpowered for bosses instead!
mental illness
>pointing out the cattle is mental illness
LMAO.
You must feel so special right now, writing this, going against the grain unlike us cattles, wind on your face. Goddamn, you must feel so alive right now bro.
I don't need validation for it, I posted in this thread simply because of OP's pretentious praise made me angry when it's just a watered down souls for people who hates video games(open world fans or RPG fans). I don't even post on ER threads most of the time.
Seek help troony. Just because you need to be told where to go on rails due to you being low IQ doesn't mean all of us do.
>Just because you need to be told where to go
Elden Ring is the only game in the series with a map and objective markers. Nice projection moron.
a huge open world needs a map cause if you didn't have one you would've gotten completely lost in 10 minutes you actual moron kys
based. er is literally normie trash. ass creed tier
>Open world is literally low IQ goyslop genre.
this is cope. the biggest complaint about open world is how you cant figure out where you are "suppose" to go. Its people who cant set goals for themselves that get anxiety and upset over open worlds.
Then they turn around and cope by saying you are cattle/eat goyslop for enjoying something that encourages and rewards player agency, almost as if they have no agency themselves, hmmmmm.
The biggest complaint is that it completely fricks difficulty scaling, encourages the devs to copy paste shit everywhere, it makes the game have zero depth and nothing you do has consequence or even good rewards and it wastes your time when 95% of the game is subpar filler content.
Don't even try to pretend that the content of the open world is anywhere near the content of hte old games. It's copy pasted and brainless as frick. The majority of the time it's also literally a waste of your time unless you already know where everything else which allows you to fricking skip things so the game wastes less of your time
The game would be *massively* better if it wasn't open world.
Half of your post doesn't even make sense in the context of your own argument.
Nah I loved the open world and it doesn't frick up any scaling. It doesn't reuse enemies and bosses any more or less than Souls games do, except it's nowhere as sloppy as spamming idle Drakes, Taurus and Capra
>The biggest complaint is that it completely fricks difficulty scaling
No it doesn't, it's very focused woth you choosing to have a smoother ride either in Liurna or Caelid, except it later makes PVEshitters cry because they have to pick classes correct for builds to properly invest in Vigor when reaching Altus Plateu due to incremental scaling, which was very based and made classes important for the first time.
In the Souls games it's full of mediocre and undertuned Coverus Demon tier bosses in your linear path with stats that don't match the player level despite such linearity that aren't actually there in Elden Ring unless you purposefully come back several hours later to early game areas
>Elden Ring is least replayable souls game due to it's size
I'd say it's the least replayable because in the course of your initial playthrough you'll see the same things and fight the same bosses 3, 4, 5, or 12 times over. Just going throug hthe game once and being the least bit thorough will be like playing multiple playthroughs with how heavily it relies on reused content.
>Low IQ people think open world is revolutionary
Low IQ contrarians think ER is bad just because it's an open world game.
Open world is not the only reason ER is good. The main reason is that it is the culmination of the soulsborne combat and formula.
>DUDE OPEN WORL BAD
>DUDE REPETITIVE
why the frick are you complaining about opyional content?
you can literally play the main game and ignore all the optional area and it would feel just like any other souls game.
I would understand if the main part of the game was repetitive or bad, but legacy dungeons and bosses are better than anything From has made in the past. All the optional content is just cherry on the tip for people who want more and want to experient with the combat.
>legacy dungeons and bosses are better than anything From has made in the past
nope.
Nah, they are. Seethe and mald
Elden Ring combat and build system is so much betterthan the Souls trilogy
Literally wait for the next From Software new IP
Armored Core 6 made me feel like that too though
It was a mediocre and filled with copy pasted content.
we will get that "once-in-a-lifetime kino" again when they release the same exact game for the 7th time. Souls games are fun but I wish pseuds would stop pretending they're some 2deep4u masterpiece
The way Ganker praises dark souls 4 so highly shows how underage the majority of this board is.
Im just trying to understand this game. I installed this for the third time. The first maidenless guy can kill me, big horse guy kills me, the dragon kills me (where im right now) and i have no chance of fighting these clowns. im serverly underpowered, the world is empty and no story. is this game only hyped because it’s pointlessly difficulty? i mean what’s the purpose of this game?
if you want more of a purpose to what you're doing go to stormveil. the boss there will kick your ass but getting past him and into the castle is your goal. so your current objective is just to get strong enough to beat him. don't bother with the horse guy and dragon yet, don't be ashamed of running away from stuff that's too strong. just kill weaker shit to get stronger. upgrade your weapon and level up. maybe just play any other souls game tbh because imo they're all better and they're not open world so they're not so aimless.
You're supposed to explore and get stronger, put points into vigor, use the smithing table an deventually the smith at the roundtable to improve your weapon, play around with different weapons and ashes of war, visit the place where the first merchant and smithing table are at night so you can get a bell to summon spirits if you're still having trouble, also there's nothing wrong with avoiding fights if you feel too weak
its totally understandable to really struggle if its your first time playing ER but keep in mind a lot of people can first try those bosses without leveling up or upgrading their stuff just because they got the dodging down.
also dont attack random npcs who arent hostile or you might regret it later.
>because they got the dodging down.
*because they memorized the boss moveset and when to press O
Amazing combat system btw
once you get the feeling for when the i-frames are you should be able to dodge stuff on reflex, not memorization.
>once-in-a-lifetime
Bro its just Dark Souls lmao, you fricking child
We're getting a big DLC expansion though. You better believe it'll be fricking huge with how long its taking to come out.
I went the bandit build first, and got walled on Margit, so I went and explored limgrave and liurnia for 40 hours and I'm glad I did it. Getting into the underground place at like level 18 was something else.
It's a completely creatively bankrupt game with zero new ideas, except a few like horse combat and open world which actively suck. Everything 'good' in it is just straight up lifted from old games.
It's not acceptable and the only reason they get away with it is they have a pokemon-tier fanbase where they will constantly make excuses for being treated like shit and being given subpar products.
Bloodborne is better.
people are still opining over this goyslop? it's easily the worst game I've installed this year (and that's including Wanted: Dead) and just uninstalled after 30 minutes because of how utterly boring it was.
My first playthrough was completely ruined by atrociously mis-statted equipment completely breaking progression. If you think ER at launch was the epitome of the medium, you're out of your mind.
Demon's Souls, DS1, DS2 and DS3 wipe their asses with this game as it was on release, in that order.
Dark Souls 1 bricked consoles on release, moron
I didn't play DS1 on release thoughever
It's easily Miyazaki magnum opus I would.say
Gaol Crucible Knight gave me a nosebleed as a shieldless Vigor 9 caster
Go ahead laugh at me
It is the best game ever made and im gonna replay it for the 130th time tomorrow.
Was it really Kino? I cleared the first two areas and quickly got tired of most loot being things I wouldn't use during my playthrough. It's impressive that every "dungeon" has unique loot but the vast majority will go unused due to respec limitations. Not to mention they took the bizarre decision of making a bunch of shit missable if you get too far ahead in the plot.

That's how Souls games are.
If you don't want to miss stuff pay attention
Souls games are corridor sims. Keeping that design philosophy with huge open worlds is silly.
>>tfw we will never get this once-in-a-lifetime kind of kino ever again
good, because it was the second worst fromsoft souls game
empty open world with recycled bosses and copypasted catacombs everywhere, malenia is a flanderized artificial difficulty caricature of what people initially enjoyed about demon's souls and dark, just bamco marketing department taking over this soulless formula because le prepare to die maymay, now mogged by koreans with lies of p scaling back to tight level design, enemy variety and fresh combat mechanics
I'm honestly surprised nothing about dlc has been leaked.
I loved Elden Ring but it has less replayability than the DS games
DeS == DS1 ptde > DS1 remaster > DS2 sotfs > DS2 > DS3 > Elden Ring
there's no way to really describe this game without using asinine but all-encompassing words like KINO
>ubisoft tower
>once-in-a-lifetime kino
good one
frenzied flame bros RISE UP
>final boss is a complete version of the main theme
Literally the only time i ever felt chills in a fromsoftware game. Wish i could fight Radagon for the first time again.
