SMT is an easy one
Final Fantasy Type-0 for me >Original PSP version only came out in Japan >Has an english fan translation but a lot fo the game revolves around online so even if you play it you won't get the full experience >Gets a western release and remaster >It's shit >Nobody ever mentions it
The atmosphere, setting and gameplay are all great, the game deserves so much better
everyone who 'likes' p1 and p2 are all larpers who never heard of it till 3, 4 or 5. the reason nobody talks about 1 and 2 is that they're okayish RPG's with worse fusion mechanics than regular SMT.
Eternal Punishment got an international release the first time around, long before the Innocent Sin PSP port.
The PS1 got a translation of P2:EP (the second part) but not an official version of P2:IS, which got a very good fan translation in the early 2000s.
Meanwhile the PSP got an official translation of Innocent Sin but not Eternal Punishment, which later got a fan patch that inserted the original script and fan translated the new content. Likely didn't bother with Eternal Punishment as the original was up on the PSN.
Persona 2 is shit. The gameplay is fricking terrible and a major step back in regards to 1. The only thing of note people like about it is the story.
The best SMT spin off is still Digital Devil Saga.

The fact that your party is just hanging out in every location you go to (including most dungeons) with continually updating dialogue does a frick ton to make them feel like real people, it also makes Sumaru feel more realized than any setting Atlus has done before or since.

No you're forgetting one important detail. They put UP the PSN version of Eternal Punishment as a "we're sorry" to not localizing the PSP version.
