I sincerely believe a 9 years old kid should watch movies like the first Terminator or Robocop, or Total Recall. There is no reason why it should be 18+ content.

What's that? You don't want to? What's wrong, got something to hide?

this "you must be hiding something" mentality is going to happen again someday. all that needs to happen is something bad. 9/11 allowed politicians to pass the patriot act and it's never been rescinded. obama partially ran on rescinding it and he never did.

They want our data. I still won't upload a photo of mine online or make a personal social media account

Let's see. How will they justify such a system's mandatory access to the internet? Think about it. It's a system that's supposed to be able to analyze a person's face in order to determine if they're of sufficient age to access a product. All of the knowledge that a machine needs in order to make that judgment can be saved locally. They would need to make a damn good case for justifying the program having any access to the internet.
Oh. And before even getting into that, they'd need to argue against the entire progressive lobby about the morality of judging a person's inherent characteristics based on what they look like instead of what they identify as. Time to get cancelled, ESRB.

apparently it's for when a minor is playing a game where their information will be used online. they technically need a parent or guardian's consent in order for that to be legal and the way it is now isn't enough for them. sounds way too overreaching to me though, despite all their claims that no pictures would ever be copied or stored.

I mean I like doing a lot of stuff outside too, I'm out several times a week being social and I love kayaking and camping, but I like my computer games too. I guess I should get like a backup machine built and start hoarding pirate copies of single player games on my media server so I can go full offline someday if need be.

Honestly you sound better off than me, I’m still struggling with the idea that I’m eventually going to have to leave the Internet when I’m currently the typical Ganker soiboi tech consoomer and I’m only now starting to pick up outdoor hobbies
Helps that my wife is outdoorsy so I’ve been asking to go with her and do things, she just thinks I’m being a good husband and not that I hate the Antichrist so much that I’m willing to go outside to escape it
