>Titlt 'n' Tumble = gyro games >Tower of Babel localisation >somehow getting Natsume to allow Harvest Moon internationally.
Actually a decent update. I assume Blaster Master on GB is also good comparatively, both to the console and the series.
>Drill Dozer's gimmick was a rumble feature in the game pak >mfw they could give it HD rumble and make you feel the full force of busting through the rubble
This seems likely. Apparently Nintendo is sitting on a PAL rom with multi language support since they weren't able to release it there at the time, so now could be a good time to get it.
Now if they really want to go all the way, on the game selection menu they could actually mimic the lenticular design of the US boxart by using gyro motion
It's a lineup that should've happened already. But a win is a win I suppose, I don't expect the next update to be worth shit, but I'd love to be wrong.
I hate how much I like the Switch's OS and front-end for emulation as well as the OLED's screen. It's a thousand times nicer than retroarch and everything loads quick as frick. The downside is you need to pay and deal with Nintendo's moronation. >Can't remap per-console, need to remap your entire Switch >Dripfeeding >Shit online >Can't change GBC/A color pallet
It's both fricking great at what it does right and absolutely fricking awful at everything else.
Basically Nintendo took forever to finally get the core emulation down pat for their 2D consoles (N64 is just a lost cause at this point), so they're probably gonna take another forever just to discover basic additional features and QoL. Nintendo dropped the ball badly on remapping with the Switch in particular.
>They went out of their way to give Tower of Babel a localization >Still refuse to put Murasame castle on NSO despite it getting a localization on virtual console.
Why tho?
Just as baffling as still not including shit like Mario Party 3, Smash 64, Mario RPG, DK 94 and 64 or Zero Mission yet.... They have to be coming but those felt like such obv early additions to me
SMRPG has appeared on previous Virtual Console iterations, and SE has been playing ball with Nintendo more than they ever have since the SNES era. In my opinion, and in light of Square Enix being such tremendous frickups for a while now I do NOT say this lightly: I'm giving SE more benefit of the doubt on this one.
I have nothing to indicate SE being the problem here. Meanwhile Nintendo has been shown to make numerous bizarre library decisions for NSO (such as having SMB2/SMB3 for the third fricking time and SMW/SMW2 for the second). I'm working off of the palpable evidence I have. Again, it's extremely hard for me to ever assume that Square Enix would be less likely to be at fault for an issue nowadays.

Look, slapping Natsume and Marvelous until they kiss and make up is one thing, but SE's bullshit is another and I don't know if Nintendo has the chops for it otherwise. Plus SE really doesn't give a shit about SMRPG, if they ever want to do anything with it, it'd be a safer bet to assume they'd do a remake of it with NIntendo than re-release it on a service that's not theirs.
Meanwhile the snoy is sharting herself in rage because they haven't added jack shit for classic games for his $120 premium sub in the last 6 months lmao.
It's the principle of it, I already have all these game's ROMs, but if they're going to charge for this shit, they should at least put in the effort to make it worth paying for.
Harvest Moon 64 and Back to Nature (PSX game) are basically the same game, with BTN being slightly more polished. The GBA game is it's own entry, and is considered the best in the series by a lot of people.
Not defending Nintendo's shitty premium, but there's jack shit for good handheld options if you want to play them on the go/on the couch. >Phones with input controls are laughable, clip on/attachable controllers have latency issues and phones in general are just shit for gaming unless you have a separate phone just for that purpose. As much as people meme on Nintendo's N64 emulation Mupen64 on Android is absolute garbage as well >Chinkshit is designed to break, support from them sucks ass and too many of them still only use low quality 480p screens and rely on fan support and tinkering which not everyone wants to do >The Deck, while good value isn't available worldwide from Valve yet. Your average normalgay also wants the thinking done for them, none of them want to install emulators on the Deck, source ROMs or deal with Linux issues >Other handheld PCs are significantly pricier than the Switch or Deck with no guarantee for long term support. At least with Valve and Nintendo you know you're getting decent customer support if something fricks up.
I know you can say >duhhh PC
But sometimes it's nice to sit on the couch instead of my desk, chuck something on the TV and play my Switch and Nintendo's shitty service has a fair chunk of games I like to emulate anyway. The Switch OLED mimics a CRT's true blacks too.
>Chinkshit
Depends totally on the chinkshit
Miyoo Mini+ is still going strong for me, though there's an annoying, very soft buzzing from the speaker I have yet to figure out the root cause of. That is my ONLY problem with it, the system itself has top-tier buttons and a great screen with a great aspect ratio for retro shit
No shit anyone can play for free with roms but companies that expand their old libraries on modern consoles is a good thing so it won't die completely and be locked in roms and old hardware. It is best for it to be as widespread as possible.
It's really not a bad service at this point. Maybe they'll get more israeli in the future, but the $20 version is...20 fricking dollars a year, in today's monopoly money. And the $50 version comes with a bunch of free shit attached that easily pays for itself. Like I said, I wont surprised if they israelite out later and stop giving out all the free stuff, but for now it's a great deal.
>eshop giving you back 5-10% of all your digital purchases
You're not getting a deal here, nothing is paying for itself. Especially nintendo games that never go on sale for anything substantial. You're buying games for full price or near full price that you could be getting for $0.5-2 or free on pc.

It's a bad service when you used to own many of those games and nintendo didn't allow you to transfer them or tie them to an account and instead is forcing you to rent them via paid online. Zero guilt emulating all that for free to get a better experience. Especially now with the deck and I can play them all properly portably to boot.

shitty how? You get a year subscription for 20 dollars and 6 bucks for a month. Companies like MS and Sony cost a lot more these days and Nintendo continues to rake in cash and support due to their cheap service.
The $20 base sub pretty much pays for itself thanks to the Gold Coin system on the eshop giving you back 5-10% of all your digital purchases.
I did that last month and only spent a dollar on a month subscription. People are underestimating how well done their services are compared to other companies that charge subscriptions for their service.
Sometimes the do promotions on top of that, this past Holiday they had a program where they would count up all the Gold Coins you got throughout November to January and give them to you again in February if you were an NSO.
Was caught off guard when I pretty much got $20 for free in February because I didn't actually know about it beforehand, used it to pay the majority of the Xenoblade 3 expansion pass.
>cant you just play these games for free whenever you want?
If you're a switch owner, you're going to pay for NSO to play online. If you're getting all these emulators attached anyway you might as well use them.
Another awful update with a bunch of crap nobody asked for. Anyone who's play Stardew Valley is going to hate Harvest Moon. It's incredibly dated and one of the most poorly designed games I've ever played.
Yeah, once the next 6-8 months or so pass and they get the good GB games out the way it'll be back to the bottom of the barrel just like S/NES since they'll have nothing left they're willing to pay top dollar for, or that's already elsewhere, let alone on their console.
Why the frick would you rather pay $10 per old ass game instead of just having them all attached to the online service you're already going to have to pay for anyway?
>Better than losing access to them after a week of being offline.
Yeah but the price though. I've played tons of NES/SNES/gameboy games on NSO over the last few years and I basically paid nothing for them, because I was already going to pay the 20 bucks to play splatoon and mario maker online. I'm gonna go ahead and say I'd rather pay 0 dollars instead of hundreds of dollars to play these games.
This and Kirby and the Amazing Mirror. That shit should have been a day one drop to showcase the linking. Now my friends and I probably have to wait until July or August to play that.
Literally no one is paying for the emulation. Everyone buys the $20 to play online and the $50 for the DLC they give out. But if it's there you might as well use it.
>what kind of moron even fricking uses the nso for emulation
The majority of the switch user base who already pays the 20 dollars to play online games and might as well use it for the convenience since it's there.
Most complaints towards NSO don't seem to quite grasp that it's intended as a, "you're already paying for online game access, here's emulators too" thing, and not a, "you are paying for emulator access" thing. I can only see the lattermost approach being anybody's train of thought if they weren't interested in anything online to play.
>"you're already paying for online game access, here's emulators too" thing
Okay, then make all those games available in the shop and tie them to my account so I can download them freely and don't lose access to them every generation.
I don't see how Nintendo is under any obligation to sell you a game forever. Even physical games don't last forever. That goes beyond being pro consumer to being bad business.
Nintendo is literally, and I have that word completely seriously, the only media company that doesn't want people engaging with their old content even for money. Disney will sell you Song of the South even in 2023 for fricks sakes.

This used to be true but they've been porting their old games pretty rapidly. NSO launched in 2018 and since that they've launched 5 of their own consoles on it. Excluding the switch and virtual boy, they have had 10 consoles. So they stuck half their consoles on there in less than 5 years. That's definitely not a bad rate.

Remember when we got Monthly Games on NSO instead of whenever the frick Nintendo felt like it?
Good Times
I’m surprised they gave us more right after the Mario Advance Wars Games

Because they want to be able to repackage them and sell them to you again forever. They're not willing to give you access to them permanently as a result, but they also know everyone can easily emulate all of it, thus NSO. It's why you'll never see GCN and Wii games on NSO, because nintendo would rather try to tweak them a bit and resell those games for full price or bundle a few and use limited production fomo.
>I don't see how Nintendo is under any obligation to sell you a game forever
But that's what they're doing. Trying to sell me the same games over and over again forever.
No, they're not separate. It's also been going on 20 years of the "tied to your console generation" bit courtesy of the Wii's virtual console, so even if it's more pro-consumer to literally have those games permanently, I don't think it's a reasonable expectation.
Square Enix is a bunch of fricking buttholes. They're probably fighting with Nintendo trying to resell it for $15 instead of sticking it on NSO. It will probably be on there eventually but damn if Square aint gonna be dragged kicking and screaming there.
Perhaps the inclusion of Geno in a possible SMRPG2 would require it’s own legal team
A bit off topic I just hate that Square is so hellbent about holding onto Geno and SMRPG but they don't even do anything with him. What's the point of holding onto the rights of a character you have zero intention of ever using again? Square crossed over with Mario in three sports games they developed and didn't even bother to bring him back.
i would legitimately pay the 50 dollar per year expansion pass if they made the rewind toggle-able, and they added per game controller configuration for N64 games
Personally I'm just waiting for them to add gamecube, and for n64+gamecube to be *at least* 1080p on the next console.
Also I really hope in the future they make a feature for DS/3DS/Wii U where you can connect the console wirelessly to the dock to play with two screens. It would be utterly moronic to not do that.
>What the frick is Nintendo doing, there should be at least 50 games there
Why? Everyone bought into it anyway. It feels more like they tacked it on out of worry that people wouldn't buy into the paid online by itself. When they realized everyone did they just laughed and turned game releases into a trickle.
I assume tilt uses the gyro?
Yes it does.
Is WarioWare available?
Ho shit that means Warioware Twisted is on the table. I'm fukkin excited now.

Man that would be cool

GBA and PSX are basically the same game. N64 is completely different. The do use the same characters with different personalities and relations though
GBA ver (and to extend Switch ver) doesn't have a greenhouse tho. That is my fav feature in BTN.
Still no Super Mario Land and no Dr. Mario for the GB.

Where the frick is Pokémon TCG?
>tilt and tumble
>harvest moon
...I'm OK with this BUT
>no GBA games
If these mother frickers don't throw Gen 3 up there
This and Kirby and the Amazing Mirror. That shit should have been a day one drop to showcase the linking. Now my friends and I probably have to wait until July or August to play that.
In a good timeline
whatever seems redundant just ignore it
Didn't they recently added the Super Mario Advanced games?
>paying for roms
Literally no one is paying for the emulation. Everyone buys the $20 to play online and the $50 for the DLC they give out. But if it's there you might as well use it.
if they figure out some way to use the IR camera on the right joycon as a solar sensor for boktai then das it mayne
renting actually, unlike virtual console where you keep the digital rom, once NSO goes out it's bye bye for the roms
First time Kirby Tilt and Tumble has been re-release, I wonder how emulator fans will say how to play that and Warioware Twisted
I just want Diddy Kong Racing and Smash Bros on N64...
Please....that's ALL I NEED
Soon hopefully
what kind of moron even fricking uses the nso for emulation
>what kind of moron even fricking uses the nso for emulation
Disney will sell you Song of the South even in 2023 for fricks sakes.
disney vault m8
Warioware Tilted would be nice
Don't talk shit about Harvest Moon. That game is great.
So that tower game was previously untranslated?
I like nso, been playing mario advance 2, thinking of playing 4 after it.
Hoping the N64 game for this month is excitebike 64 or 1080 Snowboarding
tiltntumble is cool since it's easier to play on switch than getting a gyro setup on emulator
So wheres Mario RPG?
Square Enix is a bunch of fricking buttholes. They're probably fighting with Nintendo trying to resell it for $15 instead of sticking it on NSO. It will probably be on there eventually but damn if Square aint gonna be dragged kicking and screaming there.
Square is so israeli and Autistic Holy Shit, does Sony wiener taste that good?
The controller config is the main reason I can't play Kirby 64. On the Switch it feels so terrible
The nightmare continues another year, im holding off on oot until I snag one myself
Cripes, is it that bi-monthly time to laugh at Paid Online supporters/shills again?
Please let this be a sign that I can start hoping for HM64
Huge fricking win LETS FRICKING GOOOOOOO
Skip month, all right!
>Tilt N Tumble
First time I'm going to use NSO since I played through Kirby's Dream Course
Are the N64 Switch controllers always sold out? Do you guys recommend the other controllers?
Best Ending
>No Wario Land 2
>No Goemon N64
feels bad man
>Wario Land
Nintendo must really be blind to the success of Pizza Tower
>despite millions of games for them, GB/GBC/GBA games are lacklustre
What the frick is Nintendo doing, there should be at least 50 games there
>VC have ton of crap for 2-5bux
>People handpick best ones and forget rest.
See issue? Now they can sell collections for 60 bux.
I didn't say anywhere that they should be sold separately
Dont be such a moron, Nintendo still need license to put on switch online.
Likes of castlevania, FF and megaman have collections.
>What the frick is Nintendo doing, there should be at least 50 games there
Why? Everyone bought into it anyway. It feels more like they tacked it on out of worry that people wouldn't buy into the paid online by itself. When they realized everyone did they just laughed and turned game releases into a trickle.
