Seelah's issue is she's meant to be a paladin but outside of when Ember tips her fedora she doesn't really act lawful at all.
I couldn't get past the fricking chore of the gameplay in this game, and dropped it right after my cruseade conquered that big fort/town and killed the dwarf with his succu c**t. I saw the shitty looking base building management shit and said frick this I'm not having fun. I might try again with the crusade management disbaled but im afraid if i do that i miss out on the genuine rpg shit, do i?
Base building is just spamming the same 4 buildings in the same configuration at every fort and eventually upgrading some locations because they are in prime real estate for a teleporter so you don't have to spend 3 days getting there from Drezen.
on your first playthrough you should turn the crusade off
getting the secret endings is complicated enough that you wont manage it on your first try
with the crusade off, you can't teleport back to drezen anymore, but you never have to perform a single homm3 task

I was gonna wait til the third dlc is available anyway. I want to play as a bunch of different classes and grind through the roguelike mode for a while first. I usually only play campaigns once even if there are multiple paths.
My main worry is that there's more dlc and in Kingmaker they had a dlc that had a new companion/class/race so I really don't want to start a new game and then that character gets cucked out of the new companion.
Don't listen to the wait gays because otherwise you'll be stuck waiting forever as small bug fixes continue but major shit will persist even after they're "done."
So far the only DLC we can confirm is a continuation of Through the Ashes (the dlc where you play as a bunch of losers trying to survive act 1) because that ends in a cliffhanger with a "to be continued". Some people think maybe something with the starstone because the devs occasionally do some steam post or whatever that's just talking about some lore thing and they mentioned that recently.
really loved kingmaker. however this sequel just did not hit the same. the core gameplay with the class design and combat was improved. the rest, and especially the quality of the writing, went very downhill
The only places you can frick up are town square and library. The allies you recruit from library for the final attack and trickster path are locked behind going to library before the tavern defense and some enemies including a "miniboss" that gives you some magic items are locked behind clearing parts of the town square before the defense.
