exp share is an expected feature in pretty much every JRPG nowadays to the point where its seen as a genuine negative if its NOT in. i'm curious why pokemon fans are so insistent in being able to turn it off?
Becouse most Pokemon fans are pokemon fans not JRPG fans
mostly because it existed in the past so it feels like a feature that's been stripped.
My guess is that the franchise is easy and there's no ingame hardmode so whenever they make it inconvenient to make it have self imposed rules it looks bad within the hardcore community.
Things like Nuzlocke runs are a meme that helps generate replayability, taking off exp share and stuff fits along that same long term replayability and difficulty control theme.
It lowers the already low challenge level of the game significantly, to the point an already very simple rock-paper-scissor core gameplay becomes brainless. It's also conterintuitive because it allows the player to train pokemon which have never even seen a single battle, and it ruins the very concept and flow of the game. You become less attached to the mons that you use, because you didn't have to battle with them and see them grow from weaklings into powerhouses.
oh my god, it lowers the challenge of the pokemans?! this will not stand
>It lowers the already low challenge level of a game aimed at moron children since its inception
Oh no. Anyway.
>lowers the already low challenge
Don't you mean reduce the time cost? There's nothing difficul about having to spend time
>braindead grinding
>challenge
Are you moronic?
>He can't beat Pokemon without being overleveled
Are you?
You’re both drooling helmet wearing morons, no need to fight about it
You have to be fricking moronic to think this shit is in any way challenging, overleveling or not.
And you have to be an idiot to not understand that there's a difference between easy and trivial.
If pure grinding can trivialize a game's difficulty, then the game was probably not worth playing for the difficulty aspect in the first place.
>playing a pokemon game for difficulty
anon there's a good chance you are severely autistic
>remove it
>players will level only one or two pokémons.
>will use only them the entire game without caring about the other ones.
Exp. share is needed so you morons learn how to take proper care of your Poké friends
>poke friends
>implying they're my friends and not my labour and sexual slaves
because i wanna make the game shittier >:(
Because Pokemon isn't designed around it. Using it will quickly have your teams levels rise above your opponents for one, not to mention stacking certain EVs on pokemon you don't want on them. If GF were to raise the enemy level, reduce the exp obtained, and rework the EV system into something that isn't moronic then it wouldn't be so bad. That all being said, there is no reason to force this thing on at all times to begin with if someone doesn't want to use it.
exp share has always been on for the last 3 gens
the only people complaining havent played pokemon for the last decade
You can turn it off in gens 6 and 7. It was only in gen 8 when it was forced on.
>EV trannies
no one gives a frick about that moron
The most "hardcore" (LOL) Pokemon fans unironically suffer from the 'tism. If a new Pokemon game isn't similar to the ones they played as kids, then IT'S SHIT and you should feel bad for liking it. Makes sense though, considering aspies can't stand change, even when it's for the better.
Forgot to (You) you, anon.
>exp share is an expected feature in pretty much every JRPG
For party members actively participating in the combat, yes. Benched members either get reduced EXP or nothing at all.
It should be optional. Simple as.
Older games gave you the option to use it. Newer games force you to use it. How do you not see the problem with the removal of options?
>""""Supposedly""""
>game gets released
>gets rave reviews
>sells 20 million copies
>b-b-but HOW?!!
>sales fallacy
>cybercuck 2077
>sales = good
I guess Call of Duty is the best FPS of all time
dumbass missing the point
>Own all of the legacy consoles
>Be early adopter of the Switch
>Nintendo asks for full retail for games you already own
>Nintendo charges you a dubious premium to play online
>Nintendo releases garbage Joycon and doesn’t acknowledge issues with Pro Controllers
>No reverse compatibility on the Switch
It’s almost like they want me to pirate their games.
@NintendoofAmerica
OMG Plz get this evil man!!
It’s insane how those people have maintained such a high level of brand loyalty when it’s obvious that Nintendo does not value or reward them for it.
>The most "hardcore" (LOL) Pokemon fans unironically suffer from the 'tism
You’re not wrong. One of my biggest gripes with ROMhacks is when they remove options for the sake of difficulty. For example, removing the ability to swap between Pokémon after knocking out an opponent’s for every battle in the game is a pointless change because you already have the ability to select “No” if you want. What is the point of a challenge if you can’t trust yourself to stick with it?
I'm moronic but if you can't turn this off, doesn't that just make it the base exp?
I personally like exp share but why the FRICK don’t they make it optional?
Not only should it be optional, you should still be given the original Exp Share as a hold item to use (still splitting experience 50/50) AND you should have the option to set the full-party version to give 1/6 experience to each Pokemon.
>2021
>people still crying over something so little
based
don't care, I'll still lie about buying the game as I play it on an emulator
Don't care, still playing PokeMMO
>That will be $60 + paid online + tip
hello nintendo
This.
>naruto avatar
>adult with children
naaaaah
>Like something as a kid
>Stop loving it as an adult
>If you're an adult you have to put pictures of skiidoos or something
homie, I know fellows that are dbz fan dyhards and are familly daddies, get with the times
His arguments are still stupid though. You could just make it optional, it looks like absolute cope from his part.
reminder to always gatekeep
You're going to try and stop people from playing Pokemon because they don't like mashing through random encounters to level up Pokemon other than their starter?
Pokemon games are pretty short as far as RPGs go
>Pokegays actually using authoritarian shill tactics to try and defend the decision to not implement a toggle.
Imagine being this whipped.
>It's fine when I'M the casual: the thread
