I have abandoned indie when I realized that it's just about wanting to be like old and classic AAA games, not about actually aiming to be a genuine art piece of their own. Undertale, deltarune, omori, pizza tower, a hat in time and so much more, all suffer from this. I know that not all indie games are like that (like lucas pope for example) but it's the exception to the rule.
