I don't even like multiplayer games that much but i can admit TF2 is easily one of the best FPS ever made, looks good, sounds good and plays very well.

unironically, tf2 is still a one-of-a-kind fps experience. other studios have tackled class based shooters as well but tf2 still holds up after 16 years. it’s flawed, yeah, but it’s one of the only games i can consistently come back to and have fun playing.
also, anyone who expects major updates for a game valve spent a combined 25 years of on-off dev time on are not realizing how quickly dev support is dropped for most other games. we’re lucky we got what we did. i would honestly prefer valve saying they’re finally abandoning the game so the community can take over.
It's one of the only "jump into a server and just start shooting people games" left with an active population. I'd prefer if Quake or UT were still alive but the only players left are sweats and I like being able to hop into the middle of a match, score some kills and improve my skills just a tiny bit, and leave after I've gotten my dopamine rush, which is fricking impossible with modern matchmaking and engagement bullshit.
