The absolute worst, cheap shit, piece of shit controller in the history of video games. These things break so easy. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING!?!?!??!?
The absolute worst, cheap shit, piece of shit controller in the history of video games. These things break so easy. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING!?!?!??!?
it feels cheap, but it was a big upgrade over the PS3 controller. And now the PS5 one is way better. So who cares
DS3 shits all over DualShit 4
They both felt like cheap shit. 1 and 2 were superior.
that's some fricking crazy crack you're smoking can I have some?
This
No
I've still got my DS4 from when the PS4 first came out
never experienced stick drift because i'm not a filthy animal that can't keep my stuff clean
ive had mine for 10 years now, maybe stop being an emotional ape that lashes out over pixels
all of the newer models are absolutely weak as frick, had one that broke in like just 2 month
dunno if that's just typical Snoy cheapskateness, or they want people to buy the shittier feeling DS5 for playing on PC
The fricking Ouya had better feeling controllers quality wise than DS4.
This is my preferred pc controller. Been using my launch one and it works perfectly
>PS completely dominates the console market
>PC games still use unchangeable xbox button pics for in-game prompts
YIIK and a lot of other games has PS button prompts now
It was a shit controller for gays.
The screws are the only thing fricked up on my DS4 after 9 years of gayman
>DS4
>Feels cheap
>Cheap buttons, cheap materials, cheap everything
>DS5
>still cheap
all snoys can afford
>he doesn't know how to dissect a DualShock 4 to replace button pads or solder in a new analog stick mechanism
Owning official $noy controllers is suffering, but in the Age of Information, not investing a small amount of time and money to learn a new skill like this is a choice.
The real problem with DS4s are that they're the most destructive to open up, since they use thin clips on the sides that are extremely liable to breaking. If this happens, the controller will screw back together just fine, but the side(s) with broken clips will constantly "click" whenever held.
>happened to my Alpine Green DS4 when I needed to clean it
>and of course this variant is expensive to replace, even with a crappy used one on eBay
broke some of the clips in mine when swapping internals so I could get free new controllers and never had this clicking problem before. Is your controller one of the older versions or something?
PS4 is pretty meritless shit outside of Bloodborne but I can't relate. I've had 2 controllers since it released and they still work fine, don't treat them well either
i bought one somewhere around ps4 release for pc use, it's still going strong. other than usb connector that probably needs replacing at this point, i've really no idea what's your problem
i can agree that even an x360 controller felt way more robust though. had ds3/ds4/x360, loved x360 for this solid feel, ds3 and DS4 both felt like a soft mushy joke compared to it.
sold x360 at some point because i wasn't using it. i think i appreciated it, but didn't exactly liked it
>usb connector that probably needs replacing
>i've really no idea what's your problem
This is my problem, actually my biggest problem with this cheap crap. I get that micro-usb was pretty much the standard, but for some reason my xbox controller doesn't have as much problems. Also the sticks on the DS4 are such garbage. Way too much useless shit on the DS4 as well. How many times have you used the speaker and the touch pad? If they kept it simple and improved the build quality I wouldn't be making this thread, but nope Snoy NEEDS gimmicks.
there's one Norwegian guy that sells drop-in replacement interfaces for USB-C
https://www.tindie.com/products/mariusheier/usb-c-for-ps4-controller/
same guy was also working on better sticks, but I think the interest waned
Funnily enough, I just saw this. I might do sony's job and mod my controller like the other anon mentioned. Hall effect sticks, new shell, and this usb-c board. Might even replace the rest of the sticks on my controllers with hall effect as well. Frick planned obsolescence.
wasn't the first time they tried a redesign and scrapped it
look how many times they tried before even starting
>starts stick drifting after 2-3 months of use
Piece of shit.
See
Dualshock 3's are even easier to operate on than 4's.
>[insert controller here]
>starts sticking drifting after [weeks or months of use]
A tale as old as time.
Bs my 2009 controller that came with the console still works like new, ds4 had drift after 4 years
genuinely how?
mine is almost 15 years old and hasn't ever presented any signs of wear like modern controllers do
maybe don't stick it in your ass next time, champ.
>light-bar changes color depending on the game and what you do in them
Holy soul, I loved the PS4 because of this feature.
Yeah I sure love seeing a light in my peripheral constantly as I play a game. Most needless stupid dumbshit feature ever made.
Man I’m not singling you out specifically but why do Playstation players drool over this type of shit?
Honestly I think the DS4 is the best PS controller ever even if PS4 itself didn’t have the best library
battery life is a bigger issue.
my ps4 is my streaming machine now, and the battery drains in about 4 hours, while it is just idleing. i blame the stupid front light
My first DS4 lasted 6 years, but after that I had to replace it yearly (on the 4th one now), did they start making them shittier as time went on?
>buying snoy products
>2024
moron
Clean your shit bro and don't chimpout when gaming and break your shit. Literally you either have big hands are a fat frick
Oh shit a DS4 thread. Perfect. So I have one that stopped working through the USB port. It won’t charge and my PC recognizes it as bad. Bought a new battery and nothing. Monday I got a new USB port and cable and still doesn’t work. Any ideas on what I should do or just cut my losses and get an Xbox controller?
Does the controller work with a PS4? Maybe there is driver frickery at hand.
wrong, it's the best controller.
coming from the ps3 it was lightning.
i blame the ergonomic disaster called dualsense on cali sony.
Sticks on DS4 felt much less chintzy than sticks on DS3, it’s hard to go back to PS3 because of its controller
I’ve been using my Xbox one controller for 10 years now. Do you people play with your feet or something? How are you breaking controllers in a couple of months?
Don't throw it around I guess. Mine is fine. Shit console though that will lock you out of your account and prevent password change without personal details.
Thumbsticks are also a shit medioum that prevent easy, accurate aim or enjoyable navigation.
There are games beside shooters you know
Ok fatass
>can't turn off the light
>can't turn off vibration
>can't turn off TouchPad
>battery runs out in an hour or two
>can't connect it to PC
>can only be charged by the console
>designed to break easily unlike its predecessors
Fricking Sony I swear to god
sorry guys, posted the wrong pic
I've had mine for almost 10 years now, was with me through all Souls, Niohs, Hollow Knights with all pantheons, Sifu, Furi and whole bunch of other touch shit, been abused, smashed, thrown, squeezed until it creaks
And after all that if anything she works only better lol.
The only badly designed part of DS4 is the cable port, since it doesnt have housing to prevent the cable from rattling and wearing out the port. But other than that I wouldnt trade DS4 for any other controller, especially not the dpad since very few controllers have proper button separation like this
I recently got paddles for my DS4 as well, hope she likes them (◕‿◕)
picrel
Nice balls homie
Its literally ass enhancement for my girl, silly anon
Sixaxis was worst, so light
Works with my PC machine, so as DualSense. I'm satisfied but tbf I have the updated version of both of them.
>wah wah wah my switch analogs drift
>never had issues with mine since release
>wah wah wah my ds4 analogs drift
>never had issues with mine and i had it for a decade
I'm almost sure anyone having these kinds of issues is a fricking ape.
Dualshock 2 forever. I don't care if they're over 100 dollars new now, I will always have a Dualshock 2, the newer ones are shitty and have too much extra gimmicky bullshit. Rumble is already more of that than necessary. Look at her Ganker, isn't she beautiful?
You are fricking mentally ill Im a retro gamer and Dualshock 2 is the biggest cheapest piece of shit controller in the history of videogames you FRICK.
Its an insult comparing that CRAP to the Dualshock 1 or Dualsense.
Dualshock 2 is almost Polystation tier.
(The Playstation 2 is the best console of that gen)
>controller
>ever breaking
Zoomer moment.
ZOOMER
ZOOM ZOOOOOOOOOOOOM
Except they're actually the best, most comfortable and feature rich controllers of all time?
t. Modified my boys with hall effect sticks and doubled battery capacity
>hall effect sticks
where'd you get them? I was waiting on the guy who made usb-c ports to finish making them but that hasn't happened yet
Aliexpress
You can get 10 sticks for like 3 bucks
God bless the chinese
xbox controllers are the worst controllers for PC.
if you want battery life get a switch pro
if you want trackpad and symmetrical sticks get a PS pad
if you're fricking moronic get a xbox controller and proceed to spout bullshit on the internet about how the other 2 doesn't support X game (they do)
It's ironic how they'll pull the MUH JUST WORKS card on a fricking PC gaming matter. Switch/Playstation controller support really shouldn't be a hurdle with Steam or most emulators either, so I'm led to believe that the only people braying on about MUH JUST WORKS are an incredibly niche subset of contrarian PC gamers who somehow play few/none of their games on Steam or other programs that otherwise support non-Xbox controllers easily.
worse, those are people who should be playing o consoles since they have zero technical knowledge.
i can guarantee you those people don't even know what file extensions are.
It's alarming, really.
Nah, the DS4 okay. I have a Power A controller and let me tell you now *that* is a real piece of shit.
