Why does "male human fighter" get idealized on this board as some Aragorn-looking paragon of masculinity, normalcy, and Western fantasy?
As someone who has wandered into a few dozen text-only 5e pickup games over the course of the past few years via r/lfg and r/pbp, I can confidently assert that a significant number of players play the "male human fighter" as an edgy, generic isekai MC, only without the isekai. Some brooding, angsty, twinkish teenager with a secret sword art developed despite having grown up in some backwater village, which was destroyed by [insert savage species here]. Mostly passive in the noncombat roleplay, except to occasionally say edgy things, and always itching for an actual fight.
Be careful what you wish for when you want to see more "male human fighters." You might get a "just your average Japanese high school student"-tier edgelord.

one of my favorite characters was a fighter I played that worshipped broseidon God of the brocean. I wrote an entire damn religion, and my guy was dumb as shit. He was a big dumb mean fratboy and his God loved him and he loved his God. The rest of the party loved it so much, they all joined or rerolled a character for it.
we would roll up to an encounter, get fricked up, and pound natty light style beer we carried around with us. We lopped off the head of an ancient dragon, and did a keg stand next to his corpse in honor of our God.

I know exactly what you mean, but in my experience these aren't the HFYgays you see pretending to be grogs on here, they genuinely enjoy their isekai and there isn't much more to it than that. Bit cringy but they're not going out of their way to be homosexuals like the fightergays on this board.
