Don't know why anyone would want that, the arcade experience was shit. Sensory overload while you were either gouged for your quarters or waiting to be gouged for your quarters.

      >Sensory overload

That was the coolest thing about arcade gaming.
And being able to experience it at home without constant need to feed a machine your quarters just doubles that cool.

So what did you expect? Arcade companies pumping millions into R&D, and then offering you their work for free? You are a fricking idiot.

Yes, R&D is a gaggle of idea guys gone capitalistic

That has nothing to do with evidence free claims of 1cc-ing everything on the arcade floor. Was implied and you know it.

Why yes, I have had actual arcade machines at home since the mid 80's, how could you tell?

It's not its fault it can't into flicking pennies.

This isn't quite right. It feels too "uniform". In real life, there would be lulls and asymmetries to the overall sound.

    >>The Arcade Experience at home
My arcade experience was being a teenager playing SF2 on a badly abused cabinet in a smokey arcade and trading smokes and booze for heavy petting and blowjobs from the trashy girls from the trailer park by the arcade. Would have been cool to get that experience in the comfort of my home.

With chewed bubblegum, squashed popcorn, dried moldy milkshake residue everywhere.

Not a lot of PR0_G4M3Rz in 1982. Coupla pinball wizards though.

I bumped into one, once. Kid was blind, deaf, and dumb. I swear he played by sense of smell. He blasted through my Addam's Family high score like it was nothing and I just handed my crown to him.

This is the retro board. It is called "Japanimation", chump.

I remember when I was in college at the beginning of the 90s people were fussing that "Japanimation" was racist because they were interpreting it as "Jap-animation" instead of "Japan-imation"

Yes. SEGA gambled with the Dreamcast retail price. And lost.

        Anonymous

They just had to sell 19 games per console, that's a surefire success! What don't you get? Oh and they had to do it within a year. Easy.

          Anonymous

4 to 5 Dreamcast games would have offset the loss per sold console. Plebstation managed to do that. But sega didnt. Guess who is still around and who isnt?

All the good arcades around me that didn't cater to booger eaters and was some bar hybrid died out. We had some choice Japanese imports too but you die if you just cater to the niche group.

Ridge racer on PS1 sold itself on being the arcade experience at home and while blatantly not on the flipside it was dangerously close for early 3D.
