I wouldn't. They get an MMO that's been updated for years where they can have unique experiences with other fans and we get a shitty gimped version that isn't faithful to the artstyle or gameplay of the original with no multiplayer elements and that only covers the first expansion. Doesn't seem like there's much too be grateful for to me.
EH, Offline looks fun as frick, models aside, everything else looks really frickiung welldone, traditional combat system, dq11 crafting, side stories for the allies
>that only covers the first expansion.
well for now, first expac is coming early 2023 for the nips, eventually it'll reach parity
Its actually really weird that Squeenix isnt bringing DQX offline to the West considering that DQ XI introduced a bunch of new people to the franchise.
Hopefully they'll bring it over, it's coming to ps/switch/steam so i think odds are pretty good
>traditional combat system, dq11 crafting, side stories for the allies
I'd love all that stuff in another game, but not from DQX I want to experience the real DQX or the closest possible thing to it. It's like if I wanted to play FFVII for the first time, but they only sold me FFVII Remake. Even if it's a good game, I want the real authentic experience first. If we end up getting both eventually then it's a win win, but that's not looking likely.
Square wants people to only want Final Fantasy outside of Japan and try their damndest to sabotage Dragon Quest in other countries. Remember they originally planned to keep the 3DS ports of 7 and 8 Japan only until the Enix side found out or how they advertised the shit out of the PS4 version of XI but nary a peep for the Switch version outside Japan (and didn't release the 3DS version of that anywhere outside Japan either).
>series gets game that's never translated >everyone claims its the best of the series >inevitable fan translation gets released >turns out its not actually that great and probably wasnt localized for a reason >50 GOTO 10
Sasuga
>turns out its not actually that great and probably wasnt localized for a reason
Says fricking who? If the Japanese say it's the best then it's probably the best.

Only way to play is through a vpn, right?
Seems like the Switch version didn't have a region lock for some time but they closed it down. MMO with ATB combat seems like a fun idea.
I'm only up to 4.1 but I'm enjoying it a lot. My only problem with it is that it's like XIV where there's a million things to unlock throughout the game like features and classes.
There's not really any player dungeons, matchmaking is mostly for 8-12 man instances like Astoltia Defense Force, Panigalm and the superbosses, though ADF is how you would get weapons starting at Lv90 and the other two are more for 120+.
>I dont know moon runes
Not an excuse. I had a friend dedicated enough to the franchise that he installed a translator for it and has put in over 1k hours. I dont think he plays it as a game anymore, its more like a community thing for him.
Feels like I'm being baited.
DQ5 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 10
I wish they'd bring it over here.
Really tempted to play it with the translation tools
We should play together
If all we ever get of this game is the ugly chibi offline version I'm gonna be fricking pissed.
I for one would be grateful

Just play the online version with translator tools

This, why the frick that version only?
I'll still probably play it, I've played dragon quest ix, but I'm fricking pissed about it

they haven't said if there would be localization for it. It's got a steam page but it's jap only. They even region locked it.

this is the three DQM games for the 3ds we never got, but they're actually as good as people said they were
it makes me want to kill myself
Why
those red chicks are GOAT

this game looks equally fun and extremely annoying to play
is offline not coming to the west?
It's not coming atm, but it's not not coming too
that's gay why even show it on non jp streams then
don be a homosexual anon, V and VIII are miles better than X
>Reddit Quest 5 and 8 are the only two games those homosexuals knows
typical redditor with a shit taste

depends on your location for vpn
also has a lengthy free trial, requires a monthly fee much like ff14
Honestly, really tempted to give it a try, the tools look pretty decent
gameplay with most recent patch and tools
So for the U.S you DON'T need a VPN? Really tempted to try the game out.
>this is the game that convinced SE that Yoshida Naoki would save the OTHER Square Enix MMO
Thats not the trilogy of Loto our lord and savior
DQ3 was on NES Gameboy color and has translations for SNES and it's getting a remake on switch.
It's pissing me off.
It looks amazing.
I thought the point of DQX Offline was so that they could release a condensed version for the world to play.
Learn the Jap language and You can certainly play to Your hearts content.
I already play it though because of the English patch. I'm just hoping Champion isn't a meme like Pirate.
How was your experience bro
I'm only up to 4.1 but I'm enjoying it a lot. My only problem with it is that it's like XIV where there's a million things to unlock throughout the game like features and classes.
How's the patch treating you? What about the dungeon finder if there is one

makes me feel fine. I'm not a gay who plays mmos
