I started playing the first time Monday and I e meen killing cows for 10 hours. I'm in love. The music fricking slaps no one told me the music was good.
I've heard this game has te best house-building mechanic in any rpg ever. Enough to make me play if true, but is oldschool RS on Android the same as PC?
your house just has a bunch of furniture that can improve your quality of life when doing stuff from a functional perspective. you can heal up/set up teleporters/travel networks/house pets. Theres a whole lot of achievement cosmetics you can hang in the house and a build your own dungeon thing, but those parts are largely ignored by most players
It has nowhere near the sheer utility that PoHs in sandbox crafting MMOs can give you, but it allows for a lot of player expression, acts as a compelling money sink to help prevent burnout, and features some (now) very novel old-school style roleplaying and social interaction features.
For example, here's some rooms you can set up in your POH that have functionally no use except for showing off and schmoozing to the e-friends you will never have again >throne room, complete with trap door leading directly to... >custom-made dungeon, with monsters and treasure placed by you >living rooms, dining rooms, gardens, kitchens, and bedrooms you can decorate >game rooms for players to compete in risk-free challenges with eachother >quest halls and menageries to show off the rare loot you found and the pets you earned
Back when Runescape was populated by real people, your POH could be a fun social hangout and a way to flex on your friends and acquaintances. And because it was all instanced content, players didn't have to frick around with virtual real estate israelitery.
It’s mainly because of the ridiculous amount of qol it gives you. Unlimited teleports, healing pools, etc. There’s no point in playing the game SOLELY for the house building mechanic.
Is it good? I saw a few videos in my recommended since pigman died, and it looked at least interesting, but the fact that it's a Minecraft mod basically kinda turns me off.
>wacky story driven quests that are quite fun >pvp where you can lose your shit or take stuff from your opponents >good crafting system (to put it simply and not get into details) >whole economy system (even before grand exchange), that paired with all the crafting you can do, makes a lot of "fun" ways to make money, you can basically run business in Runescape >don't know about this aspect now cuz I haven't played it in years, but it used to have a very "interesting" community >a lot of fun content to do >many playstyles >a lot of cool unique items to collect >hell if you are poor venezuelan you can basically make real life money in Runescape
You can probably say a lot more good things about this game and probably a lot of bad things (bots, a bunch of dead content ect). I'm not sure how good it is now but as a kid I had a lot of fun playing it.
Oh and the most important thing for a rs player is major autism and love for seeing growing numbers aka grind. That said, it's not for everyone I guess.
Its a fun game to sink hours into while doing other things. Some things are fun to do with full attention but a lot of the grinds can be done while watching a show or doing other things. Not to mention constant updates.
probably has the WORST player to player interaction in any multiplayer game ever made, you either never interact with anyone for months on end or get fricked/robbed by a complete stranger standing in the same spot for 10 hours on end
the combat is dogshit too
This is a childish opinion. Even Achaea is better than Runescape.
On paper the best one was EverQuest Next, but it never took off because of the success of what is obviously the best MMORPG in practice. Sunk cost fallacy leading to collective illusions cost us a high resolution voxel MMORPG with destructible terrain. EverQuest Next was not just the best MMORPG you never played, it was also a whole new paradigm, even more than WoW and DAoC were.
I just picked up Project Gorgon on the steam sale and it's pretty awesome. But I'll always love RuneScape. 99 wc was my childhood dream and it feels so awesome to have the cape for it now
I tried to play this a few months ago.
Made an account, did the cook's quest, mined some ore and talked to another guy while I mined, then made some bars and logged out.
Went to log in the next day and was permanently banned for botting. No idea why they think I was botting. Asked for help on the reddit and everyone just said "haha u shouldn't have botted then moron" and tons comments about how I'm trying to gaslight them into thinking jagex bot detection system is broken.
Immediately uninstalled and never looked back.
What a fricking bizarre experience to say the least.
Certainly not Rune Scape. People played that because it was a flash game and they could play while in class. It's a pretty shit game and the devs were always too English about everything. Then it became a self-sustaining meme. Lets stop pretending it was ever good though.

Housing is pretty shit in osrs ngl. However utility wise your house does provide you with so much more than just the house part in a mmorpg.
see

Yes the android app for RuneScape is the same as PC. You can log in to RuneScape from either your phone or computer it's the same thing
Yes but no. They offer the same client, but on PC you have RuneLite which offers a shitload of very useful features.
its pic related
that or wynncraft theyre both amazing mmorpgs

its runescape with better combat and better market
also you do the farming in first person which is better than doing it in a top down, its really fun
What's the big draw for Runescape compared to other MMOs
>wacky story driven quests that are quite fun

>good crafting system (to put it simply and not get into details)
>whole economy system (even before grand exchange), that paired with all the crafting you can do, makes a lot of "fun" ways to make money, you can basically run business in Runescape

>does this very small room really need good music?
yes
>does this very small room really need good music?
>yes
I always thought “SOVL”gays were morons
HOWEVER you are making a pretty damn good argument.
fun fact most of the old school music was composed by a guy who's now been revealed to have been raping his niece
How do we know she wasn't raping him?
Behold, the most sane weeb pedo.
