A DFGT. I thought it would have better compatibility with PS2 stuff, but earlier games (that aren't GT3) seem to be really hit or miss about it.
At least TXR3 and D2 work well with it.

    >boring highway game when ludo touge Genki games exist
I don't get it, what so fun about highways? For me the best Genki racing game is Kaido 3 and C1 Grand Prix is a close second. They've only really nailed the driving mechanics in those two games in my opinion.

      Anonymous

      >I don't get it, what so fun about highways
its not just highways, its the c1 loop which is a pretty cool circuit itself, and then if you want pure speed you have the long wangan bay road. racing against opponents on busy roads at high speeds, thats the fun part (also looking for wanderers or just crusin)

Indeed, but the OP-post says the best game is Zero, therefore OP is, as usual, a homosexual.
I confess I forgot about the Viper though.
It also actually has a Charger as a fricking traffic car, but as far as I am aware you can mod it into a playable car, albeit I haven't tried that yet.
What? Yes, I've actually played that game.

        >game is literally an early 2000s Japan Shuto Expressway simulator
        >complaining that the car selection is 99% Japanese
        You are a moron.

No U. If TXR3 could give us DeTomaso Pantera, why couldn't Zero? After all, Im not saying that 99% of cars should be US, I say that they could make the remaining 1% a bit more interesting. Euros got themselves a BMW, Porsche and Peugeot after all.
Also, see the point above and tell me why they've put a Charger into the traffic, if it is an absolutely accurate 2000s Japan Shuto Expressway simulator.

        >mutt car can't even turn

        Basically

muscle cars are cool but they can only race on a straight line. they're american cars for american streets.

        - they do not even need to turn. Which, actually, fits TXR rather well. Game is about highway racing and the turns are few, so several muscles could've been right at home.
Not to mention that with the right hands, everything could go sideways, if you really want to. I've saw baja muscles and drifitng hot-rods, so beat it.

Overall, TXR Zero is definitely not the best, and when OP comes like this right away calling me a homosexual, I say homosexual is OP.

Myth. American cars often outperform European exotics that cost significantly more. Euro racing leagues had to ban NASCAR-spec cars from competing in the 60s because they kept dominating so hard, and euro privateers frequently imported American cars to race in European championships. One French team ran a Hemi Cuda for years, winning everything it entered until regulations were changed that outlawed it. The reason most European racing championships had displacement-based classes was specifically to filter American cars out so Euro cars had a chance of winning something.
And this isn't even mentioning the utter dominance of the Viper and Corvette in Europe from 1999-2005, and how the Corvette still to this day is a top performer in GT racing.

i like most wanted too but i can see it's a worse game than underground 2. even if you ignore the weird ass physics and the dumbing down of the tuning system, after the halfway point the game just becomes a mindless tedium of committing domestic terrorism, restarting the console when a rhino you couldn't see appears over a hill, doing some races, racing the generic one-note caricature character, and then rinse and repeat until you race razor and get the BMW back.

im never not going to be autistic about the localization of these games, like i just wonder why they felt the need to localize ANY of it. im surprised they didnt just translate all the text on the signs and say the game takes place in New York or something. they don't try to hide the fact that its in japan at all yet they also give everybody american names and put american plates on all the cars. the fact that it doesnt affect the actual gameplay at all just makes the fact that they even bothered more confusing.
