Has anyone encountered a moron that doesn't know what a Visual Novel is? Besides OP being moronic, most people see the words "visual novel" and think "By Golly Gosh, this a novel with visual elements" and not "video gaem"

You are incredibly wrong to make that statement then. Personally I love the ending but there's a 50/50 chance you'll end up hating muvluv. Frankly the second game is REALLY good. The third game is just an extended ending and hardly feels like a story in its own right. If they had edited some stuff out and added it to unlimited no one would have noticed. I get why they did it the way they did it but it really does start to heat up where unlimited left off.
>>hasn't even finished it >the former
there is nothing worth reading in the rest of your ESL post if you dont know the difference between the former and the latter.

What's the problem? It's fiction. Time machines are fictional. No story ever written is going to have a plausible theory of time travel because it's not real.

Its called suspension of disbelief. A good writer will try to make their fiction seem as believable as possible and I would use the tv show DarK as a good example of how to write a compelling and plausible theory for time travel.

No, you don't have to try to make it plausible because it isn't. I'm not saying Steins;Gate is fiction therefore its time travel doesn't need to be plausible. I'm saying time travel itself as a physical concept is implausible given our current understanding. No fiction writer will be able to write plausible time travel because it's not plausible.

Black person, S;G and Dark are literally the only two good time travel fiction. I like both very much. If you like one but not he other - you're just a moronic pseud. Well, there's also Groundhog Day and BttF. Both are great.

S;G does have plot holes if you don't account for S;0 addressing them and even then because S;0 is all but unfinished it leaves them open to interpretation (which I actually like).
Shit like how the video D-mail was sent across multiple timelines within the same worldline for example. Reading Steiner isn't Okabe's special ability. It's basically dejavu and everybody has it. She is a channer who can't help themselves but roast a chuni moron. Also her attraction is explained multiple times, with him resembling her father with the obsession with the time travel and not being really smart (except Okabe is actually kind and caring unlike her father). If you couldn't see Okabe using his chuni to care for his friends, without being confronting and making things awkward, the writing went over your head. >somehow Okabe the chuuni just happens to stumble upon a fricking time machine but no one else ever stumbles upon the time machine in the same way despite the fact microwaves are an extremely common appliance

Wasn't the fact the microwave had a direct connection to CERN's black hole generator (that Suzuha set up in the building when she traveled to the past) the reason that it could do what it could?
Anonymous
No, Daru is the one who connected it to CERN's black hole generator through Kurisu's theory (based on reading SERN's mail using Suzuha's IBM5100) to make the time leap machine.
Microwave phone (the one that sends mail though time), doesn't require black hole, only requires microwave merged with phone and CRT.
There was Suzuha's intervention though, as she made sure Okabe's lab was above the CRT store, although that didn't really affect the timeline too much as the lab still resided on top of CRT store even in the timeline where Suzuha shouldn't exist in the past.
Dark is absolute pseud shit dude. The way they broke out of the loop is completely arbitrary, and there was no reason for any of the characters to retain knowledge, let alone them not purposefully breaking the loop by saying things to themselves that they don’t remember hearing. The plot is swiss cheese if you have half a brain. And the dialogue sucked
>plot holes
Every time someone tries this with Steins;Gate they either don't understand what happened in the story or they don't understand what a plot hole actually is.

Objectively a lie. To say that the story isn't that good because you didn't find it that interesting is fair, but the plot hole thing is complete bullshit.

https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/615863
Nah, it's just as I've read other stories and matured, the characters don't appeal to me anymore and the story doesn't really have any cool twists when I think back on it compared to other stuff.
I really liked S;G 0 but it was weird as frick you had to watch the final episode of the (otherwise trashfire) anime adaption to get the ending since it isn't in the actual fricking VN.
Who did you hear that from lmao. Chaos;Child is way better than S;G, and I'd even say C;H is on par with S;G despite its narrative flaws.
Only reason why S;G is popular is because it has a widespread appeal, other SciAdv games are good if not better.
>murder mystery with mind control, “science” fiction with superpowers from magic swords, comically shallow villains and “we were all old, what a twist!” >best
No
You didn't read Chaos;Head beforehand lmao. Chaos series is "delusional" science fiction based on schizophrenia, not really science science like C;H or R;N, so the writing went over your head if you didn't expect the schizphrenic delusion of mind control and magic swords.
Expecting shit doesn’t make it good. I did read Chaos;Head. The mind control and swords aren’t the schizo delusions. They’re the “scientific” basis and results of “delusions” actually being real. It’s an incredibly stupid way to look at schizo conspiracy shit. “All of this stuff is in your mind…except it actually exists, because you’re the strongest psychic on the planet :)”
Anonymous
My point was that science wasn't the most compelling part about the game. Game explicitly says so by calling it a "delusional" science adventure. If you played chaos series wanting that big bang theory bazinga science reference moment, instead of enjoying big dumb swords as it is, then that's kind of on you.
Anonymous
Then it should spend less time pretending it’s scientific by explaining the idiotic mechanics and bases for its swords and magic powers. Namedroppong le dirac sea is more bazinga than S;G because it’s total nonsense that only flies as a reference. You’re completely ignoring the other issues with it too. And you act like it’s a schizo forward work, but it’s much less so than head, to its detriment, regardless of if you know ahead of time or not

S;G newbies are so fricking annoying.
S;G is not even the best in it's own series, Chaos;Head Noah is better.
And Muv-Luv is still a better sci-fi narrative, which deals with way more important themes than "dealing with time is dangerous!!" while also still applying the concept of time travel to it's story better.

Nah, it's just as I've read other stories and matured, the characters don't appeal to me anymore and the story doesn't really have any cool twists when I think back on it compared to other stuff.
>cool twists
You have not matured
damn dude gottem
>it's the I Think I've Grown Up But Actually I Still Act Like A Child poster
Grim.
>the story doesn't really have any cool twists
Well that's a lie.
>tfw the timeleap device works exactly like the nomai masks
I really liked S;G 0 but it was weird as frick you had to watch the final episode of the (otherwise trashfire) anime adaption to get the ending since it isn't in the actual fricking VN.
The anime is no more of a trashfire than the vn. Both are a mess with a few redeeming moments
is A;C any good? How's the translation of it?
from what i hear, none of the other science adventure vns are all that good. a couple are ok.
Who did you hear that from lmao. Chaos;Child is way better than S;G, and I'd even say C;H is on par with S;G despite its narrative flaws.
Only reason why S;G is popular is because it has a widespread appeal, other SciAdv games are good if not better.
>murder mystery with mind control, “science” fiction with superpowers from magic swords, comically shallow villains and “we were all old, what a twist!”
>best
No
You didn't read Chaos;Head beforehand lmao.
My point was that science wasn't the most compelling part about the game. Game explicitly says so by calling it a "delusional" science adventure. If you played chaos series wanting that big bang theory bazinga science reference moment, instead of enjoying big dumb swords as it is, then that's kind of on you.
And you act like it’s a schizo forward work, but it’s much less so than head, to its detriment, regardless of if you know ahead of time or not
>the game is bad because it explained it's concepts
I've heard mixed things so I'm not sure. The price of the game is pretty high unfortunately.
13 Sentinels is better.
>The best video game storyline
I think you need to read more visual novel or even better, read more books.
I read visual novels you ass. S;G is still the best one.
>S;G is still the best one
>translation: i have read the science chuni series, spike chunslop and katawa shouju so im pretty much an expert on the visual novel genre
Sure thing shitposter, here's your reply.
>The best video game storyline
That's Ghost Trick. And it has gameplay compared to your chuuni schlock. Kys
complete ripoff of sao storyline and themes wise. why play such drivel anon?
I can't tell if you're joking or moronic.
Haven't played it but I'm sure it's shit, anime is gay
overrated
Chaos;Head was better. That's all.
Not at all. None of the other Science Adventure game have been able to match S;G in story.
