The best VN is one that started out as a joke but gained a small following due to its absurd premise and was eventually made into a proper game with a great sequel, and a third installment in the works.
It retains the original's absurd premise, though, and remains pretty lighthearted and silly for the majority of the story, which filtered a lot of people and they never got to experience a true masterpiece.

I've only just started scenario 4. Seeing the festival through to the end, ending with scenario 3 was something alright.

I agree thus far. He's not some 16 y/o twerp who's afraid of making any decisions. Flawed in a decent way aswell, like how scenario 2, the protag steps out of the outhouse because these villagers are just delusional and then he immediately gets torn apart.
Among other things, I really liked the MC in this game. Not completely stupid but not superhuman levels of genius competency, he can still get outsmarted. VN and japanese MCs in general tend to fall within one of the two categories.

Witch on the Holy Night is amazing and released on steam a few months ago. They even patched the translation recently

The localization was fine after they patched it a couple months ago, there's not that many errors.
it's fine if you do not have any other knowledge but it's not even close to as poetic as the original japanese, if you are not in a rush to play mahoyo there is no reason to use the official translation
I've been saying this for myself for years for numerous other projects like White Album 2 but the fan translations end up being just as autistic and rote honestly. You could wait for decades for any actual translation from fan projects and it still ends up ass.
Then there's situations like Rewrite where both the fan translation and the official are ass and already out

Chapter 1 is one of the best in the entire thing. Chapter 3, 5, and 6 are better but if you don't enjoy it by the end of 1 drop it.
