What makes you think these are the best Zelda games?
I played this a lot as a kid in elementary school. Actually, when this was released on the Switch my friend from elementary school found me on Facebook.
Oracles and Links Awakening were good but there's just something about MC that is really nice about it's appearance and music that gives the impression of a magical journey into the unknown small world that lies ahead!
why TP? world is the worst of every 3d zelda and the dungeons are as well. OoT, skyward sword, and wind waker all have better dungeons. and this is all without getting into the abysmal sky temple dungeon in TP...
Aesthetics have a lot to do with it, it's by far my favorite Zelda world to just take the atmosphere in. But for what it does right, it does a great job with presentation in regards to both its action setpieces and its dungeons, and I really love some of its concepts that Zelda games since haven't really followed up on such as 3D lantern caves and the hidden sword skills. It's flawed, but I adore the shit out of its good qualities. >the abysmal sky temple dungeon
City In The Sky is one of my absolute favorites and I want more 2 hour long dungeons where you just wander around figuring out where to go next. I straight up want MORE dungeons like that one.
its not even about wondering where to go its just a fricking chore to navigate and its not fun. the boss is literally hold up for X seconds then aim ur hook shot. click. hold up for X seconds. aim ur hook shot again. click. hold up for X seconds.... nice! now do it all again 2 more times! if you have any fond memory of that dungeon that guarantees you haven't played it in the past 5 years. granted this ranting does remind me of some of the cooler bosses the game has to offer. the double hookshot, as cool as it is on paper, was awfully executed
I know I just said TP's my favorite Zelda but it has next to no mechanically great bosses, they're mostly bark with little, sometime no (second phase of Morpheel?) bite. Zant and Ganondorf are okay, and Blizzeta is at least awake I guess. The rest just look really cool.
>if you have any fond memory of that dungeon that guarantees you haven't played it in the past 5 years
I've beaten TP multiple times and the only weak link I'd readily identify is Palace of Twilight, and even then it's not hopeless - the Sol sphere parts are okay and it's one of 2 dungeons (Temple of Time being the other) that doesn't just hand you the boss key, it's actually possible to miss it. But by and large, it's a combat gauntlet with all the complexity of a WW dungeon, it's pretty meh. I can say something nice about pretty much all the other dungeons.
You're a moron if you think that Ages or even Seasons is better than Link's Awakening.
You are also a moron since you don't realize how much oversight companies that work with them get.
I don't think I can name one that actually benefited that greatly from any petty change Nintendo enforced. They do little nit picking, like Miyamoto telling Retro to put 3rd person in a first person shooter game for instance. If anything they make them worse so they don't have to compete with it in the future.
The ranking objectively goes >1. Ocarina of Time >2. Link's Awakening >3. Majora's Mask >4. A Link to the Past >5. Adventure of Link >6. The Wind Waker >7. Oracle of Ages / Seasons >8. A Link Between Worlds >9. Twilight Princess >10. Skyward Sword >11. Breath of the Wild >12. The Legend of Zelda >13. Tears of the Kingdom
Cool. I've beaten OoT 15 times, TP 8 and MM like 5 or 6. I've beaten WW twice, and both playthroughs were 15 years apart. I remembered the frick why on that second playthrough, game's a dull headache to sit through from start to finish. I could even stand to replay SS immediately once before shelving it. Frick WW.
It's a third rate OoT clone with more water. Weak dungeons, dreadful sidequests and plenty of questionable main story beats. The Triforce quest is the game trying (and failing) to be what it should've been at the outset - Zelda 1 on an open sea.
I feel like console and hand held Zelda games shouldn't be compared to each other. It might even just be unfair to compare older 2d zelda games to 3d ones beceause of how far tech has come and how much devs can do now.

Link's Awakening is one of the worst Zelda games and the most overrated one.
i tried oracle of seasons and got bored. the switching is annoying. i dropped the game around the time i had to explore that weird otherworld with creatures
I can still see myself as a child struggling on that fricking graveyard section where you gotta hover over the pits with Moosh
Fricking loved those games, goddamn
I should really play them again
>16 dungeons >3 "final" bosses >a plethora of secrets and cool optional items like bombchus and biggoron sword >a handful of fun side stories >a colorful and whimsical saturday morning cartoon-esque world and vibe, which was a nice contrast from the grimdrab of ALttP/OoT >annoying but endearing witch minigame >unique animal friends that arent just a fricking horse >has swords and shit but never feels strictly "medieval", its a very unique world >time/season mechanic that changes the world both aesthetically and in terms of gameplay >cool ring system
yep i'm thinking the oracles are peak LUDOKINO
my only gripe i ever had with them was how closed everything is, the game is practically on rails which i dont love but whatever, its still KINOOO
god the ring system was so cool.
sure there were some pretty boring rings, and some really situational ones, but having what amounted to a quick selection of various enchantments and whatnot was such a cool system and felt like it fit well in the world
It's a shame Fujibayashi couldn't translate to 3D. Itsuno should've been the one to direct the post-Twilight iterations. Then again, I'm glad he didn't. Honestly? Frick The Legend of Zelda at this point.
I'd rather have one (1) Dragon's Dogma than ten Breath of the Wilds. Nintendo has no want or care for core mechanics and relies entirely on gimmicks for sales.
I love oracles and all but minish cap has a special place in my heart!
What makes you think these are the best Zelda games?
I played this a lot as a kid in elementary school. Actually, when this was released on the Switch my friend from elementary school found me on Facebook.
It's like the best if not the most unique handheld zelda game out there.
Based! I've always said these three are the best Zelda games and I don't care who mocks me. They're all amazing games and I love them to bits.
Oracles and Links Awakening were good but there's just something about MC that is really nice about it's appearance and music that gives the impression of a magical journey into the unknown small world that lies ahead!
Genuinely one of the best artstyles ever used in gaming. The game is pure fun, too, so I don't get how anyone can hate it. It truly feels magical.
I guess people don't like the kinstones or the shrinking mechanics in the game?
Problem is that it's FAR too short.
Only gripe I have about the game is the figurine collection quest.
>spend forever looking for a home for Farore
>it doesn't exist
if either of these were considered the best in the series, the japs at nintendo would still be butthurt about it to this day
Yeah, probably. Twilight Princess is my personal favorite but biases aside, Zelda probably peaked with the Oracles duology.

You say that but companies that work under Nintendo always put out better quality than on their own, like Factor 5, Rare, Retro.
MercurySteam did much better under Nintendo's guidance than Konami's.
Links awakening is a good game but the ending man holy shit.....
The ranking objectively goes
>1. Ocarina of Time
>2. Link's Awakening
>3. Majora's Mask
>4. A Link to the Past
>5. Adventure of Link

>13. Tears of the Kingdom
>7, 8 and 9 are all top shelf Zelda
>ranked below fricking Wind Waker
I can even respect AoL at #5, that's pretty damn based of you. But come on now.
I beat Wind Waker 4 times on three different platforms it deserves it's spot, it's only lower since the triforce shard stuff sucks dick
Cool. I've beaten OoT 15 times, TP 8 and MM like 5 or 6. I've beaten WW twice, and both playthroughs were 15 years apart. Wind Waker is a fine game.
It's a third rate OoT clone with more water. Weak dungeons, dreadful sidequests and plenty of questionable main story beats. The Triforce quest is the game trying (and failing) to be what it should've been at the outset - Zelda 1 on an open sea.
It's still enjoyable.
I feel like console and hand held Zelda games shouldn't be compared to each other. It might even just be unfair to compare older 2d zelda games to 3d ones beceause of how far tech has come and how much devs can do now.
>Zelda 1 at the bottom
>but Zelda 2 at top 5
You get a pass
this time.
Link's Awakening is one of the worst Zelda games and the most overrated one.
definitely overrated but calling it the worst is crazy, its a lovely game
>0. Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition
They have their merits but they have too much that kill the pacing for me.
true
I have nostalgia for alundra 2
i tried oracle of seasons and got bored. the switching is annoying. i dropped the game around the time i had to explore that weird otherworld with creatures
To each their own. I have a near fetish for season mechanics.
I'm currently playing ages and I'm stuck in jabu jabus belly
There should have been a third oracles game but that never happened!
I can still see myself as a child struggling on that fricking graveyard section where you gotta hover over the pits with Moosh
Fricking loved those games, goddamn
I should really play them again
Ages > Seasons
And by a lot
I've always loved Oracle of Seasons.
I hope Seasons/Ages eventually get a remake/remaster someday, but with an art style better than LA's remake/remaster.
>16 dungeons

Maple is the best Zelda npc and I will hear no counterarguments on this matter. She is just the best.
It's a shame Fujibayashi couldn't translate to 3D. Itsuno should've been the one to direct the post-Twilight iterations. Then again, I'm glad he didn't. Honestly? Frick The Legend of Zelda at this point.

Best *2D Zelda games, but yes.
[TRIGGER WARNING] OPEN AT YOUR OWN RISK! You have been warned.
So I guess I'm the only one who didn't hate the dancing games?
These lads were absolutely brutal. At least the Subrosians were easy to follow. The Gorons had no mercy.
I'm on the 5th dungeon in Seasons right now I just took a break because my eyes started to hurt.
I'll be playing ages afterwards though.
They're pretty fricking good. I think I've even come to like them more than OoT and MM which is saying a lot since they were all my childhood games
what two zelda games are those?
all the handheld zeldas are really bad and can easily be skipped. there's nothing redeeming about any of them.
