in literally all of the videos he mentions that the game was coded that way due to time constraints and that later engines like oot even fixed some of the shit, that perception is entirely you bootlicking an imaginary nintendo

I mean, Nintendo could have done even the bare minimum for all stars like turning off the debug mode stuff. But instead you just got AI upscaled textures at 720p.

Kaze is based for giving us F3, which has genuinely been better than E3/SGF for years. I hope we hear more about that anonymous Zelda 64 hack from the end of F3 2023, there's been nothing on that ever since then

He called the PC port a fad or overhyped I think

      Anonymous

      And he's right
Decompilation only matters for romhacks / games that are already native to PC

      Anonymous

He's right, but mainly because it's easier for romhackers to continue making romhacks than it would be working on brand new tooling and also preparing phone ports for their turdworlder children audience.

      Anonymous

i mean it makes sense a guy who enjoys autistically fricking around with the most minute shit to make the game run ridiculously good native wouldn't really care for a port that just kinda works better by virtue of being on a more powerful system

      Anonymous

There was suprisingly little romhacks and games that came out of it. Mostly dumb little doodads like Mario in Blender.

I saw a roguelike when the PC port and decompilation was new... But nobody's done that yet. I want to see something fricking silly and insane like a MarioLib that lets you just add Mario 64 player controls to Godot.

      Anonymous

Probably because a lot of the mods early on were just graphics, compare that to how OOT pc port got crazy complex real fast without even needing to add mods and that's not even including the plans to put MM on Ship, people already forgot how annoying zelda games were on emulator while mario didn't have those problems

      Anonymous

He's mad because he wasted his life learning the ins and outs of N64 emulation to make his romhacks and now it's extremely easy to make a romhack without messing with that shit
