The statues are different in hells tileset but it won't accept a save from the final so I can't see what the map looks like

I feel like having different endings only be on totally different modes isn't really what that first anon wanted. Cave Story was linear but still had exploration and choices, while Kero Blaster lacked most of that exploration and just had secrets. At least, that's what I remember maybe my memories of Kero Blaster are totally warped

There was a dude making one a frickton of years ago. It was called The Underside, and if I'm not mistaken the project started just a few years after CS' release. Bit of a shame he dropped it, but it was probably for the best since the market nowadays is oversaturated with platformers/metroidvanias. Wouldn't really stand out.
