it's guaranteed to elicit a reaction from some american blacks and most oversensitive white people, and the attention over it has ironically just made it more potent and humourous
I played through quake recently and I gotta ask, why is the final boss so shit?
I was expecting something interesting like Chthon at the end of Episode 1 but no, you just kill her by telefrag and then get some epilogue text.
I actually like that part though, killing a boss by telefragging as the intended option was actually pretty neat as a concept. Could've been made better if Shub-Niggurath was actively firing shit at you while you waited for the teleporters to align correctly, and have it only blow up parts of her at a time, so you have to do it more than once.
>Could've been made better if Shub-Niggurath was actively firing shit at you while you waited for the teleporters to align correctly
That would have been more interesting, I like when bosses have phases where the difficulty is upped each time you do some certain amount of damage to the boss.
I feel like Shub-Niggurath would have appeared more like an actual threat if that was how the fight went.
>why is the final boss so shit?
"Let's make the game themed around dak fantasy with RPG elements"
"oh shit the engine doesn't allow for this"
"oh frick we're behind schedule just make it an fps and scrap the RPG elements"
"wrap up the creative boss fights and just do whatever we gotta deliver this shit soon"
Kind of funny that modders were able to take the scrapped RPG shit and add it back in. It was pretty easy too, I don't know why they fricked it up, unless they wanted it to be turn based.
The only weapon that felt OK in that thing was the rocket launcher. Everything else was a significant downgrade in terms of not only aesthetic, but also how it felt to shoot each. Nothing had as much PUNCH as the Super Nailgun.

It was a rape metaphor.
That or a reference to Bad Taste.
one count of first degree being a shit boss.

Why is the n word so inherently funny
it's guaranteed to elicit a reaction from some american blacks and most oversensitive white people, and the attention over it has ironically just made it more potent and humourous
Because a simple word shouldn't have so much power, yet it does.
the most powerful word in the English Language.
the world's elites shudder at the thought that someone, somewhere, right now, is saying "Black person"
Racism is inherently funny and becomes even funnier the more people get upset about it
Because it's taboo. If in another universe the most offensive in the English language was "sneed" I'd be spamming it there too.
Because it makes people mad. If everyone wanted to stop the word from being used they would stop getting mad at it.
>The charges, Ranger?
Not planting that fat dumptruck donk down directly onto my face.
Being vulnerable to bullets.
She's not.
>t. hasn't played the game
commanding an interdimensional assault - war - against earth
putting 5 fricking shamblers on e4m4
standing too close to a teleportal
why didn't the monsters disable or block off the teleporter?
does this guy look like a thinker? personally, i'd say he's more of a doer
It's human technology and it's not clear at what extent monsters know about it. They can use it sometimes but the details are not explained anywhere.

More interesting to press a couple buttons whilst dodging explosive projectiles than to wait for some orb to align just right for an instant kill.

Being in your specific location at your specific time.
Why is it so much worse than original Quake? Especially the weapons feel like a joke
>Especially the weapons feel like a joke
Weapons are the one thing Q2 did better than 1.
Yeah sure try the nailgun vs the smg
Chaingun

>supershotgun
>chaingun
>railgun
>hyperblaster
>RL/GR
All equal or better than their Q1 counterparts (if applicable).
It's the better singleplayer game tho, Quake 1 is just brown dullness

its a different game with unfortunately the same name, that's all
