The claws size of the hunters

The hunters enemies in resident evil 1 in their artwork(left side of the image) and their in-game models have giant claws of at least 8 inches long. BUT in the animation when the first hunter appears opening doors(right side) the claws of his hand looks small like only 2 inches long. What happened?

They didn't feel like modeling it.

If I have to guess they probably modelled the claws accurately at first but realized it looked goofy when the hunter pulled on the little handle with the tip of it's giant claws. The hunter just opening the door like a normal person in a hurry still looks goofy in the final product though

is it just me or did the remake nerf their sideswipe claw attack? it's a huge risk to try to skirt by them in the original game, in the remake it's less risky.

Every enemy is easier to dodge in the remake. Hell the Hunters have this weird habit of even hopping back to let you pass. Of course the zombies are also trivial once you realize they literally can't hurt you if you make them miss their grab

They may be monsters but they're not buttholes.

If you read the kepper diary in resident evil 1, you will notice hunters are very sadistic.

Hunters spend more time showing off than they do being dangerous in the remake. They're like angsty teens!
      >KREEEEEE LOOK AT ME I'M DANGEROUS
while everyone just walks past them without paying them attention

Actually i felt like the hunters of the remake to be more agressive and dangerous than the ones of the original.

Trying to compensate for modern input lag?

It was a gamecube game anon, there was no more input lag than on the PS1. That said the game is a little less responsive since they focused on having more realistic animations.

    >What happened?

Capcom at the time didn't have the skills for 3D renders, it's the entire reason why they made an AITD clone rather than a D clone in the first place

The devs actually hated the song and didn't want it in the game, but Capcom had a marketing deal with the artist.

All of Fumitaka Fuchigami's songs are removed from the Japanese versions of Director's Cut and Dual Shock right? So his stuff was just in the very first JP version of the game?

Source? That ending song really adds so much to the game I thought, really makes you feel like you've come through to the other side from a terrible nightmare.

            >Also, in the Japanese version, there’s a Japanese song, “Yume de Owarasenai.” The producer, Fujiwara, was the one who put that in, but the rest of us on the team were really fighting it. It didn’t make sense to have a Japanese song in a game with an American feel to it.

Personally I love it and think it's a fun song that suits the cheesiness of the game, but it was just a marketing thing ultimately. They really wanted an authentic American horror movie feel, it's the whole reason they chose to go with English voice acting (as bad as it turned out) in the first place after all.

I'm glad they switched it out as soon as they were able, Still Dawn is catchy as hell.

I find it interesting you are more concerned about its claws and not its goblin looking face. It reminds me of a fantasy creature. It looks like a reptilian/orc hybrid in the artwork. It actually looks better and spookier in game.

wow, hunters used to look more like snakes in the early concepts. Now they look more like lizards.

Was there a reason the Saturn version did a skin swap on them making them those brown giant bug thingies or was it just an easy lazy way for them to pretend like it was a great addition to the Saturn game that those PS1lets don't get to have?

only those in the tunnel are changed, the ones in the mansion are the OG hunters

and it's not just a skin swap, they have a different attack pattern that makes them more dangerous + new sounds + the 3D model is different

Unlike Hunters who only do the decapitation move from a distance, Ticks do it up close
