pyrokeks...I...
how does 1 lil fireboi generate so much seethe? >u can't aim >u can't snipe >u can't play as good as me despite having a better ratio and pwning my ass every time 1on1
Unironic skill issue. I picked up Pyro again recently and he's fricking unstoppable if you know how to time your air blasts and know when to go in for the kill
same here
I got 2600h in TF2 but only 50h on pyro
walking around spamming scorch shot just to annoy the shit out of people and get occasional kills on low HP players is funnier than it should be
He's the perfect class to play if you want to turn your brain off for a match and do moderately ok without your teammates expecting much from you.
But he has a low ceiling outside of "combos" which are rarely worth doing anymore which makes him kinda bland. If anything Spy and Heavy needed an update much more than Pyro. If they really wanted to "fix" pyro they would have turned his flamethrowers into short range lightning guns mechanically that required prolonged aim and focused more on the combo aspects of his kit, but people would have b***hed about it for sure.
>This makes soldier somehow not the noob class
This isn't quake, homosexual. His already stupid damage ramp up and explosion radius is even more moronic with beggars. He's the noob class
you fricking poser fricking Black person quake had like 10 different weapons and the rocket did a minimum of 1 damage, and 100 max based on the outer radius. in tf2, it deals 50% at the outer edge of splash radius and it deals more damage at close range. also 200hp
>>*direct hits u*
lol, no you're not. Don't even try to act like you're using the Direct Hit either, we both know Soldier mains can't use it because it's the one single Rocket Launcher that requires even the smallest amount of skill to use.
Pyro is the noob class if you're fine with staying a noob
Soldier is the noob class that gets promoted into pubstomper with enough skill and gamesense if you're playing TF2 you should be playing all the classes anyway
This. He was designed from the ground up for boomers coming from Quake that can't actually play FPS games anymore due to Parkinson's but still want to think they're hot shit. Notice how literally every Soldier player you encounter outright refuses to run a shotgun, it's because they're too shit at the game to aim it. Thanks Valve for sucking off the braindead idiot Soldier mains and making their class both braindead easy and hilariously overpowered while subsequently nerfing every other class into complete uselessness, gotta make those key sales, huh?

This. You can obliterate a lot of casual games without ever developing gamesense or using non-basic techniques. You can have no positioning, no awareness of the gamestate, poor aim, no air strafing, no rocket jumping, default network settings, no skill in surfing damage, etc, and yet still contribute to the team. When your missed shots still do 60 damage there's not a lot that can go wrong. A bad spy, scout, engie, and so on will just feed, but a noob soldier will always do some damage.

Flamethrower particles are bugged, wherein the oldest particles take priority in dealing damage, but this means it also deals the least damage out of all your existing particles. It's unironically more effective to waggle and flail wildly so there are less stale particles on your target, it's crazy how many Pyro 1v1s you can win be flailing like a moron. if fixed he would be dealing nearly 3x as much damage on average and I guarantee people would piss themselves crying.
They are the two most broken classes alongside medic made worse when homosexuals act like they don’t get special treatment and good kits unlike other classes who have broken/bugged main mechanics and get even more nerfs or classes that barely have viable and fun choices in kits because so much has been needed.
Gee, it's almost like since Compgays got Valve to nerf every weapon that isn't stock for every class that isn't Soldier, and now Soldier is far stronger than every other class in the game since all of his unlocks (aside from MAYYYBE the Liberty Launcher) are still really fricking good, whereas someone like Scout is forced to run all stock since all of his unlocks/sidegrades have been made completely unusable.
Demo is unironically stronger and yet nobody b***hes about him as much, it's silly. Also there are still plenty of great primary weapons even after the compgays got shit nerfed. Only Scout, Pyro, and Spy got the brunt of real bad nerfs, but those were also classes that had a billion weapon changes before MyM due to being hard classes to balance. Scout got it the worst arguably for primaries but if they overtune his shit he becomes THE best DM class in most situations outside of sentries locking him down.
Demo does more damage but you actually have to aim with pills and there is delay with stickies so it is more fair. Also he can die to one crit unlike soldier who has plot armor and can barely survive it.
Forgot to add that soldier would be less hated if he had the same health pool as demo and pyro. People who hate soldier hate him because he is too good at everything and lacks any weakness besides high ground and even then soldier can make his own.
I consider my best class to be Demo and he can pull off far more disgusting bullshit than Soldier.
Setting up traps a player couldn't account for or being an absolute team destroyer with uber far surpasses Soldier's health buffer. Soldier also has to give up his second slot to be a roamer or have team utility while stock demo can do it all with how powerful his kit is.
I disagree. Demo is good but he isn’t unfun to fight like soldier unless he gets a crit sticky but crits are balanced in such a way where explosive classes get them more and also benefit from them more. Also demo can have his traps ruined or mistime the det. I think you underestimate how amazing good health with good kits with good movement and easy weapons is. In theory soldier can survive a demo crit then kill him and escape plan away
Demo is stronger on paper because hes incredibly good at zoning and mid range bursting, but if you get close to a demo he becomes pretty useless. A good scout will wreck demos ass 80-90% of the time and with soldier its whoever gets the first hit so its somewhat on soldiers favour.
a noob demo will wait the whole round for someone to walk into his stickytrap in an unused corner of the map. a teammate will step through and he'll detonate the trap, then an enemy shows up. the noob demo accidentally switches to the bottle, swings it, then panic switches to the sticky launcher, drops a stickybomb on some random wall, then finally manages to switch to the grenade launcher. they miss all 4 pipes, injure themself with a roller, then accidentally gib themself with the stickybomb they fired.
a noob soldier holds w and mashes space and deals 300+ damage with their 4 rockets. (In case you forgot, this kills anything that isn't overhealed).
Funny description of a noob demo because that's true, but you're giving newbie soldiers too much credit.
I have little trouble with clearly noob sollys because rocket timing is easily exploited and you can out finesse shit rocket aim with a good few of the classes. A half decent pyro, demo, or scout can wipe the floor with a bad soldier. Garbage soldiers only gain an advantage in choke hallways in which you shouldn't engage them there anyway, especially if you're a scout.
Outside of random crits (which any class can get you with) soldier is not the unstoppable one sided force you make him out to be.
Liberty Launcher was nerfed, and only weapons soldier has that need nerfs are Cow Mangler, Whip, and Escape Plan. Everything else is perfectly fine and you simply have a skill issue.
The Escape Plan is weakness nullifier of Soldier. He's the second slowest class in the game, where most of his mobility comes from rocket jumping. This normally means Soldier is easy pickings when out of position and can't escape effectively. Escape Plan solves this issue for Soldier as now he can easily retreat from bad positioning.
>Cow Mangler, Whip, and Escape Plan
wat
they're all fine, cow mangler isn't even better than stock and the other two are utility melees.
if any items of him deserve a nerf it's the direct hit and backup, the later is absolutely busted and you can make arguments for the direct hit being OP in the right hands
Cow Mangler's charge shot does a little bit too much. Despite doing less damage to Sentries as the main downside, you disable them while also having an extremely spammable projectile that mini-crits and causes after burn.
The Whip too is pretty absurd. The range is more than the Eyelander's and hit people behind you.
Look at this shit
?si=8aHGjBwo-9n-sogx&t=125
And with its base damage it still oneshots all light classes with crits, and leaves Medics with 4 HP. Oh and that is ignoring the fact that you boost everyone single of of your teammates in your melee range by a significant amount. Heavy as an example becomes faster than regular speed Pyro with that speed boost. It's easily Soldier's best melee by a mile.
Escape Plan see above.

You'll be dead anyway idiot, the escape plan is literally designed to be useable when you have so little health that the mini crits don't matter. Difference is, you now have the speed to maybe avoid the damage altogether. All the while having the benefit of getting from a to b faster regardless whether you're under fire or not.
It's literally free speed in the very instance when you'd normally be slow as frick.
>whereas someone like Scout is forced to run all stock since all of his unlocks/sidegrades have been made completely unusable.
KEK
I love reading Ganker TF2 threads, they're always filled with shitters >Primary
FaN knockback let's scout easily bully other classes and outright negates their effectiveness while still giving high dps, let's not forget FaN jumps for their insane mobility for FREE
Shortstop allows scout to no longer take the risk being at close range if he has dm so now scout can dominate fights even easier and sit at midrange
Soda Popper does more DPS than scattergun and it improves scout's mobility tremendously by giving him 5 extra jumps with the meter being effortless to fill up >Secondary
Bonk slow down nerf is irrelevant and still let's scout completely ignore enemy defenses and get to safe spot easily if for some reason he can't already do so with a mobility primary/melee
Crit Cola is still really good because it's guaranteed mini-crits on the class that has the best mobility in the game that shouldn't be getting hit anyway if the player has good dm
Mad Milk gives scout free hp regen and fire extinguishing while he still keeps his high DPS primary
Winger jump height is great for mobility and extra damage can be useful
Cleaver let's scout do lots of mid-range dmg for free even w/o sandman and then he can easily finish you off in a convenient location for him (also fills up soda popper even easier than it already is)
Pocket Pistol gives scout FREE HP REGEN and shoots FASTER than the stock pistol lmao >Melee
Basher DoT is effective and has extra utility for basher jumps at the cost of HP
Atomizer is a free mobility boost for it's jump, which let's scout ambush easier since primary is his focus
Wrap Assassin can deny crit heals and harass low hp classes before the scout finishes off with primary, can also easily be used to fill up soda popper
Actually through the long history of TF2 Soldier mains have been the biggest b***hes in the entire game, through all of comp they've dogpiled their spergging on the balance of the game entirely based on this concept that Soldier is the main class. You want written proof of their vile interaction in the community just look up discussion around team comp in TF2.
Not to mention the hundreds of autistic surf servers they host themselves.
Soldier is a class with a high skill ceiling and low skill barrier. This is great game design because it let's new player has something they can depend on while always being able to improve, but it also produces a lot of mid players who think they are way better at the game then they actually are because "muh skill ceiling".
Combine with israelitetubers like Dane just shilling for compgays to be able to dictate balance choices and you have a group of stupid entitled players who think they're better than everyone else.
I can understand seething over Sniper or Spy due to how they can kill you instantly and are unfun to fight, but I genuinely don't understand seething over literally any other class when there is obvious counterplay to them. Is all the b***hing solely from people who only play one fricking class and nothing else? I don't understand the "main" mentality at all, you can literally swap classes to counter a good player on the enemy team for just about any scenario. If you're getting stomped there's almost always a way to mitigate it unless teams are absolutely stacked in their favor.
Literally it's trannies who only play classes that are easily stomped by soldier, they refuse to play any other class because they only have cosmetics for pyro or spy or whatever kek.
Ambush classes don’t like working hard to flank without rocket jumps, doing a small bit of damage to soldier or not killing him since he is tanky, then watching helplessly as he flicks and one shots you or shoots the ground with a lucky crit or something. It’s not fun since a spy has to touch you to kill you, same reason sniper is no fun.
morons have seethed over Pyro since day 1 for one simple reason. >fight anyone but Pyro >get outplayed >score a lucky crit and kill them first >you feel good for "turning the situation around"
vs >fight Pyro >get outplayed >score a lucky crit and kill them first >still die to afterburn
If you die to afterburn you didn’t outplay pyro. Pyro used to be good at group disruptions since fire extinguishing was more rare, over the years more and more things countered it so it is only good for flares now. Also valve nerfed it alongside airblast so it is even more worthless.
This has to be bait. If you go scout and miss your shots or have bad movement, you die. If you're a heavy then spies and snipers will feast. Most of the other classes have meaningful, gameplay-changing shortcomings that you have to work around. Meanwhile, sniper can kill you from complete safety with no risk, and can also one-shot you with the jarate combo. Soldier has high health, high damage and splash. Some classes are simply stronger than others and it ruins the point of trying to improve when some fresh install can select rocket guy and kill half your team when they wouldn't achieve a fraction of that result with any other class.
Yes, classes have upsides and downsides no shit. That's why you can switch to adapt to the given situation instead of sucking your thumb and refusing to swap from your "main".
Sniper and Spy are incredibly annoying and need pre-emptive counterplay which makes them unfun to fight, the point is that you can counter any other class easily (even those two as well) by simply swapping to a counter class. It's Team Fortress not "my favorite character" Fortress so actually adapt instead of whining like a moron.
soldier's downside is that he sucks at medium to long range
also he can be easily shot down in the air because his movement arc is always very predictable
>the point is that you can counter any other class easily (even those two as well) by simply swapping to a counter class.
Unless Engineer exists on the enemy team, which case you need a Medic that builds up uber and specifically the right power class depending on what secondary the Engineer is using, because of course the class that makes Scout and Pyro non-functional classes should also counter his own counters with most basic of motor skills.
Also (in most cases) you can main your class without much issue because each class doesn't instantly win against the other. A Demo can still kill a Scout, a Spy can still kill Pyro, and Pyros can still kill Snipers.
Engi only has free reign on last in payload maps (which are shittily designed chokefests anyway), most of the time a demo or soldier can easily frick him up. The problem moreso comes from the wrangler which is actually broken, or the fact that once you take out engi's shit it's up to your team to push with you and often times your single digit IQ teammates won't do squat even if you communicate that the nest is down.
>I don't understand the "main" mentality at all, you can literally swap classes to counter a good player on the enemy team for just about any scenario.
if you do that you get called a "rage [insert class here]"
in RS1 flame thrower can actually burn down the entire bunker or clear trench choke point cause you dont need line of sight to kill the enemies
maybe they should do that
>the long range class that's supposed to be weak at close range >instakills at long ranges >instakills at medium ranges >instakills at close ranges >has unlocks that counter every single counter class >has a melee that essentially always crits >the entire comp scene was so centered around medics pocketing him that they had to make him unable to get any overheal while wearing the razorback >considered balanced by compgays and compgays alone
>>the entire comp scene was so centered around medics pocketing him that they had to make him unable to get any overheal while wearing the razorback
Pocketing a good sniper is so fricking funny, instant rage generator
You will never be a real class. You have no good primaries, you have no benefits, you have no viability. You are a homosexual Frenchie twisted by nerfs and gimmicks into a crude mockery of Valve's perfection.
All the “validation” you get is two-faced and half-hearted. Behind your back people mock you. Pyros are disgusted and ashamed of you, your “teammates” laugh at your ghoulish appearance behind closed doors.
Medics are utterly repulsed by you. Thousands of hours of gameplay have allowed medics to sniff out frauds with incredible efficiency. Even spies who “pass” look uncanny and unnatural to a medic. Your hitbox structure is a dead giveaway. And even if you manage to get a Gibus medic heal you, he’ll turn tail and crit you the second he gets a whiff of your broken, imbalanced Dead Ringer.
You will never be happy. You wrench out a fake smile every single morning and tell yourself it’s going to be ok, but deep inside you feel the depression creeping up like a weed, ready to crush you under the unbearable weight.
Eventually it’ll be too much to bear - you’ll go to the marketplace, sell your unusuals, put it at a cheap price, and uninstall TF2. Your team will find you, heartbroken but relieved that they no longer have to live with the unbearable shame and disappointment. They’ll taunt you with a Soldier's Requiem marked with your username, and every passerby for the rest of eternity will know a spy main is buried there. Your items will decay and go back to the marketplace, and all that will remain of your legacy is a class that is unmistakably shit.
This is your fate. This is what you chose. There is no turning back.
>When it's not a thread crying about Sniper it is a thread whining that Pyro (class favored by fur homosexuals and trannies) should be buffed
really joggins the ol noggins
you joke but when an eceleb removed sniper from his server then asked the players about the experience, the consensus was that sniper does not affect game balance in any way (win loss rate), but not having him around made the game way more enjoyable and made players braver.
sniper did not affect match balance but it affected player enjoyment. matches had the same win and lose rates as specific roles on specific maps whether snipers were banned or not, but players reported that they felt more free to traverse around the map and felt braver and pushed more.
You seem to have misunderstood what was stated. I'll write it out in 3rd grade English:
If the ONLY people that play with those rules WANT those rules, they will like those rules! If you hate sniper, you'll like not having him! If you like sniper, you're not going to play a game without him, are you?
Sniper needs a rework rather than a removal. Whether that'd be changing how charging works, removing rifles in favor of bows, or something else entirely, it doesn't matter. I just don't think long range picks should be taken out of the game when it's the most reliable way to deal with a stomping demo or heavy.
nah, you just get cycled by three dudes >that one soldier flying around at high speeds nuking people with a shovel and then bouncing off of walls to escape without a single shot landing on him >that one sniper who literally clears the entire server out because you can't play against him(funny when he gets kicked by his own team for not allowing them to play) >that one sc**t who is constantly in our backlines, dabbing on everyone because they forget he exists the next time they spawn, chasing him is a fruitless endeavor as he actually knows how to play his class
honorable mention of jetpack pyro but only because moron teammates are deaf blind and unable to aim
Black box or conch?
Or dispenser or run to respawn?
Also the fact you even get to run to spawn which other classes have to slog to is partially the point in that soldier has too many options and that weapon invalidates the meme soldiers say of “movement costs health”
I honestly forgot about those items, I guess escape plan is alright then.
Scouts are the rarest class to see good players of, god scouts are also crippled by the hardest class counter in the game (sentries) and awful chokepoint map design since most TF2 payload maps especially have no great flanks for him. A great scout can be a DM nightmare but he's so rare because the skill needed to be that is incredibly high and the randomness of TF2 matches fricks over scout the hardest. And every scout crutch got annihilated by nerfs at some point, crit-a-cola, sandman, and BFB to name a few, so the truly skilled stock or soda popper sc**ts are the only ones remaining.
if you combine the crit-a-cola and the baby their downsides stack so hard they pretty much cancel each other out since you're only really dealing with the minicrits from the cola
that's also why I use the cane
>Pull whip out >Every teammate in a five mile radius avoids you like you have the plague >Sit there whipping the musk cloud they leave behind seething >"But muh longer melee range!!!"
Vs >Damage yourself to around 60-50 health >Run into position >Get healed by a Medic, Dispenser, health pack, etc >Put it away and play the game
If you're whipping the pickaxe out while being shot out you have some sort of debilitating brain aneurysm you need checked out.
>If you're whipping the pickaxe out while being shot out you
are extremely based and praying to the crit gods to give deliverance unto the fricker in front of you before his teammates kill you
>soldier is fine >demo is fine but buff the caber >scout needs his alt primaries and sandman/trash melees reworked otherwise fine as-is >medic should have vaccinator kneecapped but fine beyond that >engi is fine outside of his wrangler >heavy definitely needs some help, anything really to add some extra flavor to his gameplay, a 4th slot for food items might help so shotgun isn't left gathering dust >pyro has an identity crisis, he could have been reworked into a more close ranged accuracy based dot-applying ambusher with a flamethrower rework focused on combos but as-is he's just an okay slightly underwhelming class but mostly inoffensive >spy is completely fricked, he's the worst class in the game by a landslide, both unfun to fight and everyone knows his tricks. probably needs a complete gameplay rework through new items or general buffs to aid him in his sneaky stuff, kunai is annoying but almost necessary for how shit he is without it. Innate +20/25 health on stabs and a speed boost might be a good start, basically give him stuff the other knives give him innately within reason and rework the knives' actual benefits. >sniper is a clusterfrick much like spy but in the opposite direction, he's super powerful and annoying to "fight", but nobody can agree on how to change this butthole. honestly the best way to deal with him is to see how he'd do when you buff and make changes to the other classes first, also sniper hatred comes from both a design and cheater problem so if the later never gets dealt with then changing the design is utterly pointless anyway
Those are my hot takes, take em or leave em. MyM was a mistake, crits are fine, bring sprays back to official servers, and behead all ecelebs, taconigs and compgays.
>Medic should also have the needleguns buffed and give healing like the crusader's crossbow >Crits are shit and unfun to receive, leave them on melee at best
The rest is factually correct
he's balanced around the fact that precise aim and advanced movement mechanics like rocket/sticky jumping are not required to play effectively. if he had good damage output as well, nobody would play anything else on casual.
He used to have good damage with combos and they have actually downgraded his raw flamethrower damage too since the old days in addition to his dot (even though it was already needed because of healing item influx) and airblast got nerfed too. It’s easier to name core mechanics for pyro that have never been nerfed like afterburn immunity.
>they have actually downgraded his raw flamethrower damage too since the old days
Did you even play pre-jungle inferno pyro? Dude had basically no dps outside backburner crits. Combo pyro didn't exist back then to mix things up, it existed because you literally didn't deal enough damage to kill otherwise and you were just an airblast bot. Say what you will about current flames but they're significantly better than what they were like before.
Literally a lie, look at the dps comparison video on israelitetube. Also pre jungle inferno afterburn was at Lea consistent. No longer is that the case
>look at the dps comparison video on israelitetube
Post it. >Also pre jungle inferno afterburn was at Lea consistent.
Consistently shit, it's always been super easy to get rid of outside literally launch TF2 but at that point you didn't have airblast.

It literally wasn't. Health packs, jarate, mad milk, airblasts, medibeam, dispensers, all of those have always gotten rid of it easily. Even passive healing like medic or conch countered it.

Black person I am waging at work which is why my replies are so short. If you give a frick about being honest you will look for yourself, you won’t convince me since I have seen the evidence.
It wasn’t “good” since early in the game but it wasn’t “bad” until vax and it wasn’t unusable since the afterburn nerf.
Why does Ganker b***h about Splash on rockets, which is on a slow moving projectile, but are perfectly fine with Sentries?
One deals like 30-50 damage when you’re slightly off with a projectile, and the otherone literally has aimbot.
Sentries don’t take damage fall off and have an audible warning before an encounter. Also they can’t one shot or shoot on their own and are slow turning.
>Sentries don’t take damage fall off
They don’t take damage ramp-up either, which is more important since 90% of Sentries you fight are at base or ramp up range. Plus the max fall-off range is little under 1100, which is how fast rockets are and gives you more than enough time to dodge them (which you can’t with hitscan) >have an audible warning before an encounter.
The sound is fainter the spy decloaking and you never can tell where a Sentry really is before it does fricking half your health. And this also applies to every class. >Also they can’t one shot
Soldier can only do this with the Direct Hit and only up close against light classes. A level 2 Sentry can deal 148 damage per second. >are slow turning.
Rarely comes up. Those video of someone destroying a Sentry by circling it almost never happen. It infact is sometimes a benefit for mini sentries, as you can put one facing a corner in a room, and by the time Sentry starts shooting it’s be too late.
"literal aimbot" doesn't work so well with projectiles since they rely on prediction instead of being instant like hitscan
Um yeah that’s kind of the point. Projectiles are harder to hit than hitscan by default.
I am whining about soldier and can dodge so checks out.

He’s the second slowest class in the game, so just keep your distance. His splash radius is 146~ HU which can be covered in less than half a second by 100% speed. Even if you don’t cover all that distance, Splash damage deals half the damage you’d take from a direct. If you’re close enough to where you can’t dodge it, he will likely take self damage too.
Soldier whining is 200% a skill issue. Maybe if you have only fricking 10 HP, don’t fricking approach a class with fricking explosives?

If all this shit doesn’t take skill, why are you still getting constantly fragged by Soldier?
Rocket Jumping isn’t exactly a number like Splash Radius, which we already established you need to be like at low health to die from constantly.
Aside from the fact that rocket jumping requires both ondemand trig and a lot more button presses than W + M1, if it’s so skill less, why are you constantly being fragged by noobs?
The more we comtinue this, the dumber and worse off you look. If I were you, I’d stfu already, stop blaming my deaths on 24 damage splash, and develop gamesense.

You answered your own question.

It’s a rhetorical.

Only if you managed to make a point. If your attempt at a rhetorical has a clear answer that disproves the point then it fails at being a rhetorical.
You're trying to make the argument that something not taking skill should mean it's not effective, but if anything that means its more likely to be effective.
>Complaining about Sniper
Fine. Dying to him is entirely up to his skill level and you have virtually no control that interaction. >Complaining about Pyro, Soldier, and fricking Medic of all classes.
Actual skill issue. Thanks for certifying that Soldier whiners are bad at the game.
>reading comprehension
The anon literally said bad players complain about pyro. Medic is also the best class in the game with the vacc being legit broken.

Anonymous
Yeah, and that’s true, along with whining about Soldier and especially whining about Medics. If you whine about those 3 classes, you simply are bad.

>Yeah, and that’s true
But you were trying to make out it was "soldier whiners" who complain about pyro, if anything it's soldier players who would make the complaint. > and especially whining about Medics
If you can't grasp how powerful medic is you are the one that is bad at the game.

Medic is useless in combat and relies on his teammates. There isn’t even anything “cheap” about him besides the Vaccinator. Everything else “cheap” about him is external and complaining about something.
And again, why aren’t you complaining about Engineer if Medic being good support is worth whining about?
Anonymous
Medic has the best melee in the game and it's not even related to random crits. One wrong step and you just contributed 25% to the enemies uber. The worst part is it can happen multiple times.

I do complain about Engineer, but not for skill-related reasons that was the original topic. Engineer causes a lot of problems from a game design perspective. Also Medic was way way more powerful than Engie is.
To add to this, everything people b***h about other classes do, Engineer also does >Omg I can’t entire sniper sight lines without Uber or some shit
You can’t do that with Sentry range either, which Sentries can’t miss and have a DPS of 140 hitscan + Rockets. >omg Sniper is always at max damage fall off range
At least with Sniper can be affected by ramp-up aa well when you flank him, and only has 125 HP. Sentries reep the benefits of damage ramp-up without the drawback of taking damage ramp-up themselves, and have 216 HP too. They also ignore crits, random or granted. >Omg Soldier/Demo/Pyro/Heavy doesn’t require aiming!
Sentries literally have aimbot. Even the wrangler that has manual control has aim assist for some fricking reason. >Omg I can’t play Spy when there’s Pyro on the other team!
Spy can still sneak around with invis and has a gun that outranges flamethrower. Scout/Pyro/Demoknight literally can’t do shit against a Sentry besides switch to Demoman and hope a Medic pockets him, AND hope Engineer isn’t running the shit circuit because shutting down 2.5 classes isn’t fricking enough he needs to shut down 4 whole classes. >Omg Medic just keeps pocketing this guy healing him!
Not only are Engineers pocketing their Sentries too, which they can do from afar, their healing rates are better too. The Quick-Fix’s max heal rate is 100.8/s, the Wrench heals at 127.5/s, Jag at 119/s, and rescue ranger at 96/s. Dispencers heal way slower at least, but can heal multiple teammates too. It’s also not much slower than in-combat healing by stock either.
Wow! That changes everything! Sentries do the same fricking thing every entity fricking does!
That totally changes how Engineer Sentries can kill a Heavy faster (1.06 seconds with ramp-up+rockets, and not including damage Engineer can do with his shotgun or Wrangler too) than Demoman (2.035 seconds if both players are standing on 3 stickies), Sniper (2.6 seconds to charge a shot that's deal 300 damage), and Brass Beast (1.96 without accounting rev time).
Making noise that sounds like any old computer background noise 100% offsets the 216 health that can be healed near instantly and ignores damage ramp-up when you're attacking it.
Like who cares that the Sentry will also knock you around like a ragdoll even while ubered, making it harder to take down even with actual fricking invincibility? Sentries make noise people!
sentries are critically weak to peeking with accurate single shot weapons like the rocket launcher or all of demo's guns or a sniper rifle or even the huntsman
I barely ever play anymore because they kept surgically removing fun from everything but their pet classes. JI was such a shitshow and added so many shit or niche weapons to a class that desperately needed something more reliable or usable. Biggest dagger in the back is that pyro got more nerfs than buffs when he already sucked from his weapons getting gutted. But valve saw that and thought “how dare airblast and afterburn be consistent”
That's what I always wonder when video games have really shitty weapons or abilities.
Why not at least give them a small buff that doesn't automatically make it super-viable, but redeems it a small bit?
What is going on in the brain of a game designer when they just blatantly remain ignorant?
For modern games devs probably just see it as a job and don’t care but for old games some guns are probably balanced for easy, multiplayer, or the gun is more of a proof of concept or just for the sake of variety.
Mannmelter is the saddest weapon in the game. Used only by pyros who want to extinguish teammates and farm Phlog it has no purpose other than that pairing and even then those tards just run Scorch Shot anyways.
The weapon is shit but many years later I still remember playing on a saxton hale map and hitting him all across the map with the manmelter for the kill.
I'm a simple man.
I play medic. I like keeping all my teammates alive, using xbow and amputator for them sweet AoE heals and assist steals.
And I refuse to use uber in pubs because my Black person teammates refuse to commit to a fight even though I've yelled "I AM FULLY CHARGED!!!" and I keep spamming z-3 behind them.
Other than that, I'm pretty content with myself and the way I play.
god i hate how the year in the mexican meme username keeps getting newer with every passing year, i don't even think they're randomly installing tf2 anymore. in another decade it'll be skibid.morales.2021 and it'll be too late to go back 🙁
>am soldier >pyro rolls up >don't shoot >holding fire >still don't pull the trigger >nearly at melee range >shoot >instant reflect, die on the spot
how, how, how you cheating piece of shit
>The same community that nerfed all of Scouts unlocks meaning the only toolkit you can use without getting raped is his fricking Stock weapons and maybe a different melee
TF2 is the shooter equivalent of Mario Party and community servers died because you were too high on your own farts to figure it out. All you needed was one glance at the community ban lists (miles long! almost every unlock!) and Valve's history of official comp support.
Most comp players wanted Valve to just copy their class limits and banlists but Valve didn't want to do that, so its always funny to me how much people b***h about compgays it was Valve being stubborn wanting to have their cake and eat it too when they started nerfing shit.
I can't believe 6s gays are scared of a 240 melee only fat man getting to the mid fight in a meta where he'll get instantly countered by the full time two scouts.
Heavy@mid hysteria is proof that compgays actually have no idea how the game works outside of the 6s meta.
>the close range class >great at close range >weak at other ranges
Scout fills the niche you people seem to think Pyro does.
Pyro is just a badly designed braindead class with a few niche specialties like spy checking.
>What are the chances of an [anything] rework
0%, this game is never getting weapons or classes changed in any way ever again
the sole dev exists just to fix minor bugs (not major ones) and curate workshop/fanmade content and copypaste it into the game
>reflect a rocket >it turns into a mini crit >can't OHK the guy who shot it >reflect a roller grenade >it changes team but doesn't reset the timer >it kills you with 180 fricking non-crit damage because the calc is broken
Literally all I do in TF2 is play pyro with default flamethrower + jetpack + speedy hammer and zoom around scorching people. Sometimes I topscore sometimes I look like a moron. It’s very map dependent. I love burning snipers to death.
When I top score as Soldier I often feel like shit because maybe I fricked up a few rocket jumps or missed an airshot I know I should have been ready to hit. I know I could have been playing better, I know my jumps could have been better and I could have hit more direct rockets.
When I top score as Pyro I often feel like laughing my ass off because all I did was flank and w+m1 people, even more so the amount of seethe I get sometimes from Scorch + Phlog spawn camping.
>the cow mangler's y coordinate spawn point is 8 instead of the usual 12 that the rocket launcher has and 0 that the original has >fall damage can be prevented by any class by doing a: jumpbug, a tick perfect input of uncrouching and then jumping at the same time as you nearly hit the floor; wallbug, your bounding box confusing you for being on a surface inside of a slanted/diagonal wall; edgebug, a tick perfect sequence of your bounding box hitting the edge of any given ledge, this cancels all of your falling momentum but keeps all of your horizontal momentum >only jumpgays know how to use them well enough in any setting >compgays ban these out of fear due to the disturbance of their stale meta gameplay
cow manger is allowed in comp
jumpbug is allowed since it's just a reverse ctap and requires tight timing and you being at a certain speed and height for it to even work
wallbugs are allowed and there's common spots on comp maps that good comp players are aware of since soldiers, scouts, pyros, and demos will try to hide there to ambush
the only banned wallbugs are ones that allow players to literally see through walls and see things in areas of the map they shouldn't be able to (if this doesn't work both sides, process is an easy example of one that's allowed because of this), or a wallbug that let's a player shoot and damage others through walls
edgebugs have always been allowed and is a key thing to learn for every class (especially medic) which is encouraged in comp since you need to be good at air strafing, surfing damage, and edgebugging to negate fall damage.
there are also many rollouts on comp maps that intentionally use edgebugs and being able to consistently edgebug is expected
>t. Flarelet
If flare gun was a good long range weapon then dealing with heavy+medics by pelting flares at them would be considered a good tactic.
>have to puff and sting to do a whopping 90 fricking damage
>scout gets that in one meatshot along with being immensely harder to kill
>or scout just one shots you outright with a crit o cola
pyrokeks...I...
Learn to play
>close range class is actually a medium range class
Pyro can deal 86 to 173 damage per second, which is higher than Sticky Bomb Launcher's best possible DPS.
tomislav is better
you will never get anywhere near max dps because the flame hitreg is bugged and valve are incompetent clowns who are too lazy to fix it
That's quite the large range.
Ever since Pyros figured out you could airblast > flaregun again I've been having some trouble with them
Particularly the ones that are good at reflecting
how does 1 lil fireboi generate so much seethe?
>u can't aim
>u can't snipe
>u can't play as good as me despite having a better ratio and pwning my ass every time 1on1
Unironic skill issue.
Pyro was literally, unironically designed as the noob class for people with shit internet
what were you expecting
Soldier is the noob class
Soldier is based on classic quake gameplay, what are you smoking
>This makes soldier somehow not the noob class
This isn't quake, homosexual. His already stupid damage ramp up and explosion radius is even more moronic with beggars. He's the noob class
Oh well, I guess you'll just have to keep crying about it
you fricking poser fricking Black person quake had like 10 different weapons and the rocket did a minimum of 1 damage, and 100 max based on the outer radius. in tf2, it deals 50% at the outer edge of splash radius and it deals more damage at close range. also 200hp
Save it for your therapist
Get good, israelite.
Pyro is the noob class if you're fine with staying a noob
Soldier is the noob class that gets promoted into pubstomper with enough skill and gamesense
if you're playing TF2 you should be playing all the classes anyway
>*direct hits u*
Nothing personnel troony
>>*direct hits u*
lol, no you're not. Don't even try to act like you're using the Direct Hit either, we both know Soldier mains can't use it because it's the one single Rocket Launcher that requires even the smallest amount of skill to use.
Holy cope, I can taste the tears of the salty pyro or scout main through these posts
Lmao spoken like a true sn*per. Why doncha go hide in the backline and left click the horizon while the real men duke it out?
DH is unironically easier to use than stock
>Direct Whiff
Where did the soldier main touch you anon?
he didn't, he missed
>every Soldier player you encounter outright refuses to run a shotgun
I use one.
>Anime troony thinks I won't use my strange festive shotgun that I unboxed back in 2014 won't blast his head right open
A bad spy, scout, engie, and so on will just feed, but a noob soldier will always do some damage.
play on a map that isn't a narrow hallway
they hated him because he told them the truth
>Soldier is the noob class because uhhhh...he was designed for veteran players
Absolute state of Soldier whiners.
But enough about Pyro, Heavy, and Engineer
Nah, there isn't any noob class except Heavy.
>class that requires good game sense is for noobs
Uh
You are right but also wrong at the same time
I like to use him because I don't have to aim.
Ambush people around corners and go for people who are already injured. Come on moron it's not that complicated
Play shotgun pyro with the panic attack. Pyro's good against noobs if you're one yourself.
soldier main melty
Flamethrower particles are bugged, wherein the oldest particles take priority in dealing damage, but this means it also deals the least damage out of all your existing particles. It's unironically more effective to waggle and flail wildly so there are less stale particles on your target, it's crazy how many Pyro 1v1s you can win be flailing like a moron. if fixed he would be dealing nearly 3x as much damage on average and I guarantee people would piss themselves crying.
This already got fixed.
In jungle inferno
I feel like Soldiers have been causing Sniper levels of seething lately on this board.
>Escape Plan
>needs nerf
???
The Escape Plan is weakness nullifier of Soldier. He's the second slowest class in the game, where most of his mobility comes from rocket jumping. This normally means Soldier is easy pickings when out of position and can't escape effectively. Escape Plan solves this issue for Soldier as now he can easily retreat from bad positioning.
Fresh install take. The Escape Plan is busted as shit.
>t. 1k hours on soldier alone
>The Escape Plan is busted as shit.
>>t. 1k hours on soldier alone
I have 5k hours so I don't want to hear lip about how experienced you are. There's nothing busted about escape plan.
This has to be bait
>runs to health pack
>it was already taken
>needs to find another or wait for it to respawn, invalidating the point of faster movement speed
>or find a medic who will stop healing their pocket for 2 seconds
>all of this takes the same amount of time as dying, spawning, and respawning, even slower if you have a level 3 teleport up already
Black box or conch?
Or dispenser or run to respawn?
Also the fact you even get to run to spawn which other classes have to slog to is partially the point in that soldier has too many options and that weapon invalidates the meme soldiers say of “movement costs health”
>doesnt explain himself
>>umm lol ur baiting
Why are you so autistic you can't just explain your point of view? Black person what is so broken about being able to return to base faster? It requires your health to be low in order to be effective and you take crits, it's balanced, I don't know what you want to hear
>what is so broken about being able to return to base faster?
nta but this is what gives you away. try harder next time.
>pull out escape plan
>immediately die to some stray pistol shot
real OP there, the only time it helps is certain health zones otherwise it's barely an improvement from fricking dying and walking back
You'll be dead anyway idiot, the escape plan is literally designed to be useable when you have so little health that the mini crits don't matter.
KEK
I love reading Ganker TF2 threads, they're always filled with shitters
>Primary
FaN knockback let's scout easily bully other classes and outright negates their effectiveness while still giving high dps, let's not forget FaN jumps for their insane mobility for FREE
Shortstop allows scout to no longer take the risk being at close range if he has dm so now scout can dominate fights even easier and sit at midrange
Soda Popper does more DPS than scattergun and it improves scout's mobility tremendously by giving him 5 extra jumps with the meter being effortless to fill up
>Secondary
Bonk slow down nerf is irrelevant and still let's scout completely ignore enemy defenses and get to safe spot easily if for some reason he can't already do so with a mobility primary/melee
Crit Cola is still really good because it's guaranteed mini-crits on the class that has the best mobility in the game that shouldn't be getting hit anyway if the player has good dm
Mad Milk gives scout free hp regen and fire extinguishing while he still keeps his high DPS primary
Winger jump height is great for mobility and extra damage can be useful
Cleaver let's scout do lots of mid-range dmg for free even w/o sandman and then he can easily finish you off in a convenient location for him (also fills up soda popper even easier than it already is)
Pocket Pistol gives scout FREE HP REGEN and shoots FASTER than the stock pistol lmao
>Melee
What the frick did i just read
what is the best class to play while high on narcotics?
soldier, your performance won't change
>still seething
Engineer 2fort
It would be funny if you played demo
I like to perch with my cloak and dagger while I sip a red wine waiting for a good opportunity.
you get better with demo the more fricked up you are. I pubstomp when 10 beers deep
cloak and dagger spy on turbine
demoman
It’s not fun since a spy has to touch you to kill you, same reason sniper is no fun.
morons have seethed over Pyro since day 1 for one simple reason.
>fight anyone but Pyro
>get outplayed
>score a lucky crit and kill them first
>you feel good for "turning the situation around"
vs
>fight Pyro
>get outplayed
>score a lucky crit and kill them first
>still die to afterburn
I'm glad that you morons are starting to consolidate your seething of multiple classes into single posts at least
It's Team Fortress not "my favorite character" Fortress so actually adapt instead of whining like a moron.
>pick soldier
>no downsides
checkmate little fraglet
soldier's downside is that he sucks at medium to long range
also he can be easily shot down in the air because his movement arc is always very predictable
ok now i know you're baiting.
>the point is that you can counter any other class easily (even those two as well) by simply swapping to a counter class.
The problem moreso comes from the wrangler which is actually broken, or the fact that once you take out engi's shit it's up to your team to push with you and often times your single digit IQ teammates won't do squat even if you communicate that the nest is down.
there are several snowball weapons with no counterplay where you get punished for your teammates mistakes
>fight pyro
>win
>die anyway
>DoT is exclusive to pyro
dot after death is nearly exclusive, yes. Nobody complains about the scout club or tribalman's shiv
>I don't understand the "main" mentality at all, you can literally swap classes to counter a good player on the enemy team for just about any scenario.
if you do that you get called a "rage [insert class here]"
pyro (no hermana) sex
>still makes players seethe more than any other class
Shotgun. Embrace your inner fifteen year old American who lied to enlist and was given a shotgun and pointed in the direction of the Bouch trench.
in RS1 flame thrower can actually burn down the entire bunker or clear trench choke point cause you dont need line of sight to kill the enemies
maybe they should do that
>the long range class that's supposed to be weak at close range
>instakills at long ranges
>instakills at medium ranges
>instakills at close ranges
>has unlocks that counter every single counter class
>has a melee that essentially always crits
>the entire comp scene was so centered around medics pocketing him that they had to make him unable to get any overheal while wearing the razorback
>considered balanced by compgays and compgays alone
>>the entire comp scene was so centered around medics pocketing him that they had to make him unable to get any overheal while wearing the razorback
Pocketing a good sniper is so fricking funny, instant rage generator
Vaccinator for best results. Make sure you spam "Nice shot Kamerade!".
stop playing on crit servers baby
"My favorite class is spy." -Gaben Ewell
You can tell the day valve nerfed the spy was when Gabe stopped giving a shit about the game.
sex with pyro
>When it's not a thread crying about Sniper it is a thread whining that Pyro (class favored by fur homosexuals and trannies) should be buffed
really joggins the ol noggins
Spy buff when?
>soldier
>medium range class
>second strongest close range class
>second strongest long range class
you joke but when an eceleb removed sniper from his server then asked the players about the experience, the consensus was that sniper does not affect game balance in any way (win loss rate), but not having him around made the game way more enjoyable and made players braver.
>hey guys we're gonna ban sniper
>HELL YEAH WE HATE HIM
>*game doesn't change at all*
>b-but we uh we umm we liked it better and that's data
>game doesn't change at all
wrong
sniper did not affect match balance but it affected player enjoyment. matches had the same win and lose rates as specific roles on specific maps whether snipers were banned or not, but players reported that they felt more free to traverse around the map and felt braver and pushed more.
I just don't think long range picks should be taken out of the game when it's the most reliable way to deal with a stomping demo or heavy.
ive played this game in 2007 and everyone that complained about snipers was a noob
still holds true today
accurate
I used to remember hating Sc**ts so much but now I only have foggy memories of them. Did all the good scout players leave or something?
nah, you just get cycled by three dudes
>that one soldier flying around at high speeds nuking people with a shovel and then bouncing off of walls to escape without a single shot landing on him
>that one sniper who literally clears the entire server out because you can't play against him(funny when he gets kicked by his own team for not allowing them to play)
>that one sc**t who is constantly in our backlines, dabbing on everyone because they forget he exists the next time they spawn, chasing him is a fruitless endeavor as he actually knows how to play his class
honorable mention of jetpack pyro but only because moron teammates are deaf blind and unable to aim
I honestly forgot about those items, I guess escape plan is alright then.
I've seen pyros with the jetpack pull off some of the most moronic plays ever, but I've also seen them pull of some of the most "moronic" plays ever.
Hard to git gud at scout and the best ones probably just play comp because you usually go stock anyway.
>Pull whip out
>Every teammate in a five mile radius avoids you like you have the plague
>Sit there whipping the musk cloud they leave behind seething
>"But muh longer melee range!!!"
Vs
>Damage yourself to around 60-50 health
>Run into position
>Get healed by a Medic, Dispenser, health pack, etc
>Put it away and play the game
If you're whipping the pickaxe out while being shot out you have some sort of debilitating brain aneurysm you need checked out.
>If you're whipping the pickaxe out while being shot out you
are extremely based and praying to the crit gods to give deliverance unto the fricker in front of you before his teammates kill you
Hey, I've had it work out before. But like any desperation play it's not something you would call the most optimal.
>soldier is fine
>demo is fine but buff the caber
>scout needs his alt primaries and sandman/trash melees reworked otherwise fine as-is
>medic should have vaccinator kneecapped but fine beyond that
>engi is fine outside of his wrangler
>heavy definitely needs some help, anything really to add some extra flavor to his gameplay, a 4th slot for food items might help so shotgun isn't left gathering dust
>pyro has an identity crisis, he could have been reworked into a more close ranged accuracy based dot-applying ambusher with a flamethrower rework focused on combos but as-is he's just an okay slightly underwhelming class but mostly inoffensive
>spy is completely fricked, he's the worst class in the game by a landslide, both unfun to fight and everyone knows his tricks. probably needs a complete gameplay rework through new items or general buffs to aid him in his sneaky stuff, kunai is annoying but almost necessary for how shit he is without it.
>Medic should also have the needleguns buffed and give healing like the crusader's crossbow
>Crits are shit and unfun to receive, leave them on melee at best
The rest is factually correct
WHERE'S MY FRICKING STRANGE FRAG
After the strange dragon's fury.
It's a bit absurd just how many strange weapons are still missing.
he's balanced around the fact that precise aim and advanced movement mechanics like rocket/sticky jumping are not required to play effectively. if he had good damage output as well, nobody would play anything else on casual.
Phone posting while waging just look it up if you want to argue in good faith
Afterburn was good (usable outside combos) until around when vax was added and critical mass was reached with fire counter measures
>Phone posting while waging just look it up if you want to argue in good faith
If you're not posting it in the first place I'd hardly say you're arguing in good faith in the first place.
>Afterburn was good (usable outside combos)
It literally wasn't. Health packs, jarate, mad milk, airblasts, medibeam, dispensers, all of those have always gotten rid of it easily. Even passive healing like medic or conch countered it.
Black person I am waging at work which is why my replies are so short. If you give a frick about being honest you will look for yourself, you won’t convince me since I have seen the evidence.
It wasn’t “good” since early in the game but it wasn’t “bad” until vax and it wasn’t unusable since the afterburn nerf.
Skill issue
>see a gibus engineer holding m1 on his sentry
>run up to him and swing
>-40
>turns around and crits me with the wrench
Why does Ganker b***h about Splash on rockets, which is on a slow moving projectile, but are perfectly fine with Sentries?
One deals like 30-50 damage when you’re slightly off with a projectile, and the otherone literally has aimbot.
Sentries don't shoot the fricking floor
Correct, the sentry shoots at you with unavoidable hitscan that pins you to a fricking wall if you don’t die in less than a second.
just leave, it's not like it can follow you
Sentries don’t take damage fall off and have an audible warning before an encounter. Also they can’t one shot or shoot on their own and are slow turning.
>Sentries don’t take damage fall off
They don’t take damage ramp-up either, which is more important since 90% of Sentries you fight are at base or ramp up range. Plus the max fall-off range is little under 1100, which is how fast rockets are and gives you more than enough time to dodge them (which you can’t with hitscan)
>have an audible warning before an encounter.
Um yeah that’s kind of the point. Projectiles are harder to hit than hitscan by default.
Irrelevant
Deaf
Crits or mini crits
Bad at game
Soldier down players are morons
Maybe if you could actually dodge you’d being whining about Soldier then.
I am whining about soldier and can dodge so checks out.
If you’re whining about Soldier, you can’t dodge.
If you can dodge, you have no reason to whine about Soldier.
>dodging a close range rocket with stock splash
Pretty sure it's actually impossible to move out of the way in time. Best chance is that the soldier tries to go for a direct hit instead of just shooting the floor.
Maybe if you have only fricking 10 HP, don’t fricking approach a class with fricking explosives?
>rocket jumping doesn't exist
Rocket Jumping damages you unless you’re using the one that deals literally 0 damage, requires you to use up 1 rocket in your clip, harder to do indoors, needs a wall to be done effectively, and requires you to telegraph yourself rocket jumping in a predictable arch.
If you’re gonna whine about air strafes and shit, at that point you’re just admit Soldier is a skilled class and you simply suck at the game.
rocket jumping and air strafing at a practical level don't require skill thoughever
Question
If all this shit doesn’t take skill, why are you still getting constantly fragged by Soldier?
Rocket Jumping isn’t exactly a number like Splash Radius, which we already established you need to be like at low health to die from constantly.
Aside from the fact that rocket jumping requires both ondemand trig and a lot more button presses than W + M1, if it’s so skill less, why are you constantly being fragged by noobs?
The more we comtinue this, the dumber and worse off you look. If I were you, I’d stfu already, stop blaming my deaths on 24 damage splash, and develop gamesense.
>If all this shit doesn’t take skill, why are you still getting constantly fragged by Soldier?
You answered your own question.
It’s a rhetorical.
Only if you managed to make a point. If your attempt at a rhetorical has a clear answer that disproves the point then it fails at being a rhetorical.
You're trying to make the argument that something not taking skill should mean it's not effective, but if anything that means its more likely to be effective.
"literal aimbot" doesn't work so well with projectiles since they rely on prediction instead of being instant like hitscan
Engineers don't pretend they're a skilful class.
In that case why doesn’t Ganker b***h more about Pyro, Sniper, Heavy, Engineer, Medic, Scout, and Demo?
Bad players complain about pyro, reasonable people complain about the dark triad of soldier, sniper, and medic.
Medic has the best melee in the game and it's not even related to random crits. One wrong step and you just contributed 25% to the enemies uber. The worst part is it can happen multiple times.
I do complain about Engineer, but not for skill-related reasons that was the original topic. Engineer causes a lot of problems from a game design perspective. Also Medic was way way more powerful than Engie is.
To add to this, everything people b***h about other classes do, Engineer also does
>Omg I can’t entire sniper sight lines without Uber or some shit
It’s also not much slower than in-combat healing by stock either.
>so mad he forgot words
Sentries make noise you dumbass
Airblast + Axetinguisher combo: Neutered
Airblast + Flaregun combo: Neutered
Airblast + Reserve Shooter combo: Destroyed
Why does Valve hate fun so much?
I barely ever play anymore because they kept surgically removing fun from everything but their pet classes. JI was such a shitshow and added so many shit or niche weapons to a class that desperately needed something more reliable or usable. Biggest dagger in the back is that pyro got more nerfs than buffs when he already sucked from his weapons getting gutted. But valve saw that and thought “how dare airblast and afterburn be consistent”
thread reminder that if you still think that pyro is bad in current year + 8 then you are just a shitter.
the axtinguisher didn't certainly deserve so many nerfs but the degreaser and RS were fricking AIDS to play against, stop lying
>but the degreaser and RS were fricking AIDS to play against
Not really LMFAO maybe you're the shitter here?
shut up, homosexual
why is it so hard to flame sentries around corners now
It was always jank but yeah it feels even harder now
i hate it
use the phong. it still uses the old particles
soldier and demo aren't op you're just a moron who plays bad maps like dustbowl and goldrush where they don't have to aim
Pyro being the underdog in any given situation is why it's so fun to play.
lol
lmao
would a tiny buff to these weapons really have hurt?
Yeah, can't let players have any fun.
Weapons working as intended isn't allowed
Instantly kill anyone the second they enter your Sniper sight line and that's fine, but reflect a rocket and teamfortress.tv loses their minds.
Other than that, I'm pretty content with myself and the way I play.
i'd definitely get into a close range encounter with a cute pyro if you catch my drift :^)
You like being maimed by fireaxes? That's some fricked up shit my Black person.
it's hot when he does it + who in the name of frick uses the stock fire axe in 2007 + 84

god i hate how the year in the mexican meme username keeps getting newer with every passing year, i don't even think they're randomly installing tf2 anymore. in another decade it'll be skibid.morales.2021 and it'll be too late to go back 🙁
>the year in the mexican meme username keeps getting newer with every passing year
I noticed this recently and I fricking hate it
I don't understand.
>am soldier
>pyro rolls up
>don't shoot
>holding fire
>still don't pull the trigger
>nearly at melee range
>shoot
>instant reflect, die on the spot
how, how, how you cheating piece of shit
You got read like a book.
TF2 could've made it big as an E-Sport, if only Valve listened to the competitive community.
TF2's comp scene has all of the preds of Smash but none of the willingness to adapt to changes in meta.
I'd die quicker than overwatch's comp scene.
>The same community that nerfed all of Scouts unlocks meaning the only toolkit you can use without getting raped is his fricking Stock weapons and maybe a different melee
Scout's alternate primaries are shit, but almost all of his secondaries are worth using still at least.
TF2 is the shooter equivalent of Mario Party and community servers died because you were too high on your own farts to figure it out. All you needed was one glance at the community ban lists (miles long! almost every unlock!) and Valve's history of official comp support.
>TF2 is the shooter equivalent of Mario Party
why do you hate tf2?
Most comp players wanted Valve to just copy their class limits and banlists but Valve didn't want to do that, so its always funny to me how much people b***h about compgays it was Valve being stubborn wanting to have their cake and eat it too when they started nerfing shit.
comp players should be hardware banned
Post this backpack to scare compgays.
Sad part is that not only is the BASED jumper a weapon that makes your rockets weaker, but it’s still banned in 6v6 anyways.
Sad this already mediocre (but fun) option got nerfed, it's genuinely not worth using at all now
AIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEE
SAVE ME COMPMAN
I can't believe 6s gays are scared of a 240 melee only fat man getting to the mid fight in a meta where he'll get instantly countered by the full time two scouts.
Heavy@mid hysteria is proof that compgays actually have no idea how the game works outside of the 6s meta.
It has never been a good idea in the history of ever to let top players dictate the meta and make changes to the game
>the close range class
>great at close range
>weak at other ranges
Scout fills the niche you people seem to think Pyro does.
Pyro is just a badly designed braindead class with a few niche specialties like spy checking.
Why does splash damage exist anyways?
Did you know rockets are a real thing?
To help shitters and punish corner camping.
What are the chances of a Spy rework
>getting a real update at all
0.0000000001%
>What are the chances of an [anything] rework
0%, this game is never getting weapons or classes changed in any way ever again
the sole dev exists just to fix minor bugs (not major ones) and curate workshop/fanmade content and copypaste it into the game
>curate
Hahahaha
Use the dragons fury + scorch
been raping casual for days now
>reflect a rocket
>it turns into a mini crit
>can't OHK the guy who shot it
>reflect a roller grenade
>it changes team but doesn't reset the timer
>it kills you with 180 fricking non-crit damage because the calc is broken
Post your Pyro RIGHT NOW
you got it boss
don't tell me what to do, b***h.
yo, bonedomefriend
>the cow mangler's y coordinate spawn point is 8 instead of the usual 12 that the rocket launcher has and 0 that the original has
>fall damage can be prevented by any class by doing a: jumpbug, a tick perfect input of uncrouching and then jumping at the same time as you nearly hit the floor; wallbug, your bounding box confusing you for being on a surface inside of a slanted/diagonal wall; edgebug, a tick perfect sequence of your bounding box hitting the edge of any given ledge, this cancels all of your falling momentum but keeps all of your horizontal momentum
>only jumpgays know how to use them well enough in any setting
>compgays ban these out of fear due to the disturbance of their stale meta gameplay
cow manger is allowed in comp
jumpbug is allowed since it's just a reverse ctap and requires tight timing and you being at a certain speed and height for it to even work
wallbugs are allowed and there's common spots on comp maps that good comp players are aware of since soldiers, scouts, pyros, and demos will try to hide there to ambush
the only banned wallbugs are ones that allow players to literally see through walls and see things in areas of the map they shouldn't be able to (if this doesn't work both sides, process is an easy example of one that's allowed because of this), or a wallbug that let's a player shoot and damage others through walls
edgebugs have always been allowed and is a key thing to learn for every class (especially medic) which is encouraged in comp since you need to be good at air strafing, surfing damage, and edgebugging to negate fall damage.
there are also many rollouts on comp maps that intentionally use edgebugs and being able to consistently edgebug is expected
I never noticed til now that they synced the compasses. This webm is too based.
Shotgun is pyros primary
reserve shooter+degreaser is super fun honestly
do you think they're going to make a Vscript section of the workshop like they did maps
