Anyway, 3.5 psionics are generally inferior to Vancian casting. So your group must have been moronic if that's what set them off and not Complete Divine or whatever.
CPH was AD&D 2E; came out around the same time as the Dark Sun line.
Most people angry about psionics in 3e ignored the psionics-magic equivalency rule.

It depends on how the game I'm playing handles each, and what each one can do. And no, I don't play D&D, because it isn't a game.
I love psionics a ton. My favorite psionic class has gotta be Complete Psionic's ardent. Get themed power lists.

Notice all of the good things about third were either ignored or condemned. Psionics being one of them.

But one that went ignored was complete Arcana and Divine.

A fun thing about Warmages was that they could cast any spell the Warmage class had access to. This yielded some humorous exploits such as getting access to every cleric spell.

Psionics are boring and gay. It's just dudes thinking hard and then some bullshit happening out of nowhere.
Psionics should be used for space-fantasy. Psionics shouldn't ever be mixed with magic unless you're mixing medieval fantasy with space-fantasy. I don't know why this is so hard for people to grasp.
I don't think I've ever hated an idea more than the idea of making psionics a distinct concept separate from arcane as if psychic powers are an exclusive sci-fi sort of idea or, even more pathetic, trying to justify why forcibly controlling or altering someone's mind or perception is somehow different because of the way you do it. Telepathy is telepathy and that doesn't change whether you're a homosexual wizard or a cystral waving autist psion.

No. I generally hate any kind of setting that has more than one source of magic too, e.g. D&D's arcane vs divine magic, and even the distiinction between wizards and sorcerers. Especially if two different magic systems have similar spell effects.
