rip, I miss the good old days. Not like the game has any features that would bar it from being player hostable, especially since you see like a maximum of 8 players at any time, or even less.
> Hitman bros
Peawiener going to save us all.
The rest can go die in fire.
Also hitman is less likely to die like that out of these — they don't have any mfg licenses, unlike racing games.
Well, yeah, that's what I meant by «Peawiener». That's the name of self-hosted server to play offline.

Actually nevermind, just checked the Steam, it STILL has random DLCs not included in any bundle. I thought they told they got rid of that bullshit.
Torrent it is then. >b-b-b-but you can just buy this one "bundlename" it has almost everything and if you want more you can just buy this one "dlcname" and this one "mega goy deluxe upgrade"
Unironically have a nice day in the most brutal way possible if you're like this.

That's just predatory practice. Like packs of ingame currency in f2p mobile shit. Say something you need (usually premium mode where you are able to progress without spending literal years grinding) costs 150 of ingame currency, but the currency itself is only sold in packs of 100 and 500.
Mostly. The official contracts db is unavailable, but there's loads of player submitted and even peawiener exclusive contracts you can play.
Otherwise progression, freelancer, escalations, sniper missions, and all elusive targets work in peawiener.
Absolution also had servers for Contracts but they shut them down after the square withdrawal, it's baffling to me that they would double down on the online shit after that but at least it's "easy" enough to emulate the server locally.
the funniest thing about nuhitman is how they clearly wanted hitman to be some kind of GAAS game but their content production is so fricking glacial paced that its more like a single player game that got a few extra post launch maps, and now its abandoned for James Bond.
Today I had my first taste of seeing the hitman servers go down for maintenance and going offline I realized that you can't do fricking shit if you're not connected to the servers. If those die, that's it, you're locked out of progression and stats.
>grim for payday 3.
They just barely launched their fricked up worse version of already ruined payday 2, and they have the fricking stones to drop a single heist 20 dollar dlc, and you already frickin know theyre abandoning it within 6 months. Indie devs will launch their stillborn games and support them for years, but the trillionaires at Starbreeze cant be bothered to fix their garbage game
Starbreeze cannot make a single good decision in their lifetime. I don't want to return to Payday 3 even after this shitty overpriced DLC dropped.
According to their quarterly, it was a financial success too, meeting development costs, but I doubt it'll stick longer
Ive done a virtual roadtrip in this game some time ago. Really sat there driving around and visiting any place of personal interest for like 10 hours while drinking booze. All this game is good for to be honest. Do it once for good memories and uninstall
> modders will fix it
If servers will go down, they wouldn't be able to reverse-engineer anything, since no packets being exchanged. And if they didn't do it by now, I doubt three months will be enough.
Man i really liked this game
Frick ubisoft and their always online games.
This is the fate of more or less all modern racing games. I don't know what kind of licensing deal they have with car manufacturers, but it have to be pretty bad.
You can't buy any Forza older than Horizon 5 or Motorsport 8 digitally.
You can still buy Forza Horizon 4 and Motorsport 7 digitally, it usually takes some time after the new one is released before the older entry is delisted. Also, unlike the Crew, all older Forza games still work just fine because they weren't designed as online-only shitfests.
It's one thing not being able to buy the game.
It's another thing altogether if the game literally does not work because the devs killed the servers. It should be illegal.
you can even still buy and play Horizon 3 from key sites. Main reason why they had to retire it was car licensing. Unlike The Crew, you can play all forza games completely offline believe or not.
>because it's an always online game, even us who aren't paypiggies will never get to even play the game ever!
dangerously based, if I ever make a game I'll make it an always online one
lol

Yeah, racers are pretty much an MMO genre with occasional bots now. Another reason to not bother with modern ones at all.
I have a portable drive with the all the racing games i am interested with up to 7th gen, until the last ones that could have been installed and played locally without internet connection. That's it, i am done with modern releases. If they want to rent me shit instead of selling it, fine, but i prefer the storefront to say that directly.
>occasional bots
throw your thing down flip it and reverse it. its 99% bots, youre almost always racing "drivatars". aint no way 6 other players join a race at the same exact second as you, connect instantaneously and never disconnect
I feel like of you can't actually experience the media directly it's still lost media
If theres a book with summaries and reviews still out there but there's no way to actually read the book I'd say it's lost
This sucks. The first game was easily the best of the 3 and actually made use of the crew mechanic the best. It was just kind of lacking in post-launch support. If The Crew 1 had Crew 2's post launch support it would be more highly regarded.
frick you Black folkoft I'm not buying Motorfest, 2 was already bad enough okay maybe I will if the next game will be like the first one instead of [totally-not-horizon#2138]
That sounds like something the state would be to blame for, more and more things are going to be doing stuff like that because euros are mentally ill and worship their leaders for anything that can be twisted to be seen as "consumer protection"
Well they keep putting games onto a central server that they shutdown and make it unplayable even if it has single player, so yeah
EA at least trying to not be as shitty as they used to be so that's a plus I suppose.
they cant even put in effort to have the game be offline? Lmao just "nah you cant play this game ever again anymore btw" we're at that point when thats just ok now how can you even go any lower than that?
It's the GAAS promised land. Always online so can't be pirated, filled to the brim with FOMO to force the hand of the indecisive, and once sales have waned you shut it down to funnel everyone into the new and shiny sequel.
>they cant even put in effort to have the game be offline?
100% of this game is soloable and the ""MMO"" multiplayer is limited to 8 players in one instance lol
MMO just means you grind a lot
why i dont buy ubishit or live games anymore. as a service games have the ability to die lol and never be playable at least capcom released megaman offline
I actually feel a bit bad for ubisoft. They experiment a decent amount with videogames but no one cares or even knows about anything they make besides AC+FC so it flops, so AC+FC ends up being all they are known for. They also catch flak every time a shit open world game gets released just because they made the first game everyone else copied more than 15 years ago.
Maybe you're baiting but I'm sure you'll miss your gachaslop or your VNs if they were GaaS Always-Online garbage such as this game.
Doesn't matter which game it is, the fact that they can steal your games even if you purchased it, is a thing nobody should experience. This is an ownership-rights problem.
the only thing i know about the crew is that it was ubislop that was being pushed around at conventions like pax east when they were actually fun to go to like 10 years ago. the fact that this franchise somehow seems to still be around despite me never actually seeing gameplay of them whatsoever or ever having heard of anyone playing this game on here is astounding to me. as far as i'm concerned it might as well have never existed
Nah, they are not. Because there are no way to play this game, no matter where did you get it —bought or pirated. I was, obviously, never cracked, being always online.
Are there any game devs or someone who's somewhere near that area
How is this not possible for us to have our own server for The Crew? I wanna free roam alone, I don't give a frick about anything multiplayer
The Crew was a good game until that graphic update. Okay, even after that it was still tolerable, but anyway, the game was good. Fricking Ubisoft. Can't even refund
Well that's some bullshit. It's not a great game but still.
My rally car is still parked at the bottom of Pikes peak waiting for me to do the hill climb. Maybe I should play one last time

Moldman right as per usual.
You still have Fuel (2009) for massive game world driving games, you just can't purchase it anymore
he called it being shut down 2021-2022 IIRC
rip, I miss the good old days. Not like the game has any features that would bar it from being player hostable, especially since you see like a maximum of 8 players at any time, or even less.

Well, yeah, that's what I meant by «Peawiener». That's the name of self-hosted server to play offline.

yes.
>your mostly single player game will be unplayable due to servers
swear to God vidya is going to turn me into the fricking unabomber
this is why you always pirate
can't pirate online only GAASslop
Worst thing is, there is no crack.
Yeah, racers are pretty much an MMO genre with occasional bots now. Another reason to not bother with modern ones at all.

Games will become like streaming movies, eh?
Anyways
You can't steal what you can't own.
streaming films you can pirate. some games will never be playable again because of server-side code that is lost after the game shuts down.
best game to cruise around it. the crew 2 sucks, boats and planes really dumbed the map down. the newest crew map is so tiny it's not fun.
Name one reason why pirating this game is immoral
immoral? no
impossible? yes, its always online
I have my torrent client running for more than a decade now with little to no breaks.
>Gentlemen, I see that it is now time for me to kill myself.
oh no, anyways
>Will you be happy?
Only if they remove The Crew 2 as well, what an awful fricking series.
was this game ever cracked and pirated? or is this gonna be lost media
It wasn't, AFAIK.
thats a shame
ah true my bad
hopefully one day people find a way to crack it
>hopefully one day people find a way to crack it
possible but extremely unlikely, wasn't a popular game to begin with
its over
Well it won't be "lost media", since there's footage of it existing, longplays, lets plays, reviews, all that.
I feel like of you can't actually experience the media directly it's still lost media
If theres a book with summaries and reviews still out there but there's no way to actually read the book I'd say it's lost
the only way it's getting cracked is a server emulator
Better get a move on I guess.
yeah I'll just reverse engineer the server backend and be back before dinner :^)
I backtraced their servers' IP, it's 127.0.0.1
Go wild, bróther
based af. Let us know when it is done. I will buy you a coffee.
This sucks. The first game was easily the best of the 3 and actually made use of the crew mechanic the best. It was just kind of lacking in post-launch support. If The Crew 1 had Crew 2's post launch support it would be more highly regarded.
it was given away and bundle like crazy some years ago
Was only a matter of time.
They really weren't joking around when they said you will own nothing. I haven't reached the being happy stage yet.
Maybe you don't eat enough bugs?
frick you Black folkoft I'm not buying Motorfest, 2 was already bad enough
okay maybe I will if the next game will be like the first one instead of [totally-not-horizon#2138]
Is ubishit now officially worse than EA?
Eh, are they? I don't think they're quite there yet.
they're literally taking away your games on uplay if you don't log in in 6 months or some shit
I think that's only EU or UK
That sounds like something the state would be to blame for, more and more things are going to be doing stuff like that because euros are mentally ill and worship their leaders for anything that can be twisted to be seen as "consumer protection"
They're both praying for someone to buy them out so obviously they are competing in failing.
Well they keep putting games onto a central server that they shutdown and make it unplayable even if it has single player, so yeah
EA at least trying to not be as shitty as they used to be so that's a plus I suppose.
>laughs in soapbox
You have to be mentally moronic to ever "buy" a Ubisoft game again.
>buying always online games
>buying ubisoft games
it was given away for free twice
they cant even put in effort to have the game be offline? Lmao just "nah you cant play this game ever again anymore btw" we're at that point when thats just ok now how can you even go any lower than that?
It's the GAAS promised land. Always online so can't be pirated, filled to the brim with FOMO to force the hand of the indecisive, and once sales have waned you shut it down to funnel everyone into the new and shiny sequel.

MMO just means you grind a lot
This shit should unironically be illegal. I hope the EU or someone else creates some regulations to combat this.
FUEL bros we won
Are you all underage? How is this new? Just because WOW is somehow still around doesn't mean this is the first time an MMO has shut down.
it doesn't NEED to be an MMO
there are no raid bosses that require 30 skilled cars racing in relay to beat
>MMO has an expiration date
You dont say?
>>MMO has an expiration date
>You dont say?
I do say.
They keep stealing your money
>go 10000 years into future
>game playable now
It's that easy
>game shuts down after 10001 years
Nothing personel, gamer
>cracked offline version exists
But you lose
Meanwhile this is still in the game, LMAO.
You will get banned soon. :^)
55 hours of play time without even a warning, let alone a ban :^)
I liked The Crew for a playthrough and it introduced me to this song.
>who gives a frick if it's always online, do you even use computer without internet?
why i dont buy ubishit or live games anymore. as a service games have the ability to die lol and never be playable at least capcom released megaman offline
Thats sucks balls man, I really liked this game.
Sucks mostly for the dudes who made it a part of their personality.
I actually feel a bit bad for ubisoft. They also catch flak every time a shit open world game gets released just because they made the first game everyone else copied more than 15 years ago.
i wonder if this hurts their sales for the other the crews, would people be dumb enough to still buy their stuff after this?
yes
the only crew with good damage models gone
oh noooooo
I can't play a game I never intended to play!
How will I ever get through my life if this game is gone forever?
AHHHHH
Maybe you're baiting but I'm sure you'll miss your gachaslop or your VNs if they were GaaS Always-Online garbage such as this game.

boy i sure do love store fronts
the day they shut down Guild Wars 1 forever will be one of the saddest days in my life.
good chance no-one's playing it anyway, but guarantee that you'll still be able to play pirated versions on privately hosted servers if you wanted to
the only thing i know about the crew is that it was ubislop that was being pushed around at conventions like pax east when they were actually fun to go to like 10 years ago. the fact that this franchise somehow seems to still be around despite me never actually seeing gameplay of them whatsoever or ever having heard of anyone playing this game on here is astounding to me. as far as i'm concerned it might as well have never existed
piratechads are laughing at us paysissies.... I'm so tired of servicing their huge blunderbuss wiener.......

End of an era.
So many good memories I'm gonna miss it bros 🙁
it's a comfy cruise & chill game
the most fun I had was unofficial freedrive races with some nerds
Indeed It was. It's the first and the best of the series. I played the crew 2 but it always felt off even the graphics were a downgrade.
>comfy cruise & chill
Any other games for this feel?
Forza Horizon is GAAS gay shit as well.
I can recall FUEL and Test Drive Unlimited.
Honestly Forza Horizon 4 is one of the best for that. European countryside is cozy af.
If you want old school
>NFS 2 SE
>NFS 3 Hot Pursuit
>Sega rally revo
>Dirt 2
Non of them are open world but tracks are some of the most memorable out there
I'm glad I never paid for it and played it exactly once years ago when Ubisoft let people have it for free.
Always online is a scam.
One Last ride
Well that's some bullshit. It's not a great game but still.
My rally car is still parked at the bottom of Pikes peak waiting for me to do the hill climb. Maybe I should play one last time
Im sure they will release all server apps for public use then, right? Right?
They better do just that!
>read the news about servers shutting down
