What? 4-6 and 8 are piss-easy, and 11 is definitely harder than 2 and arguably 10. So its easily in the harder half. Its basically another take on MM&B-esque difficulty except not terribly designed.
It's the easiest and worst one in the classic series, i would rather play Mega Man 2 as unfinished as it was over it.
and the soundtrack is just absolute 2010's YouTube intros garbage made by a woman.
I preferred the DLC soundtrack myself, but the big let-down is only 1 Wily theme. Like c'mon, we've been past that since 7.
Bosses still don't do anything to you. Enemies are still placed in spots where you just plink away at them and occasionally dodge. Stages are still boring, poorly designed, and unbearably slow, but not hard.
Zero breaks an already easy, if slow game, so I don't use him. I am speaking purely from the perspective of an X player. Speaking of which, X6 has X at his worst.

X4 X is a terrible to play. That is truly the most boring X experience. Even the bosses make fun of X for being so moronic.

X4 X's armors aren't so shit that you're stuck with unarmored X if you want to have any sort of offensive capability, unlike X6.

X4 would be the worst if not for X7. It's only good for the memes. There is no X game I enjoy less.
>2022 >still not a single good Battle Network clone >the closest we have is a shitty roguelite
I don't understand. this combination of turn-based strategy and action combat is god tier. why the frick is it so niche while menu diving/spreadsheet simulators are wildly successful?
I'm more bewildered that crapcom hasn't just made some gacha/tcg BN game focused on PvP. Just port it to everything under the sun, keep adding more chips and styles, and you have easy money.
It's just Block Man's level, which you have to do again when you get the full game. Depending on how you look at it, that might be a turn-off since it, as well as a lot of the stages in the game, are some of the longest in the series
9 has intentional difficulty spikes and segments that are purposely designed to trip other the player, almost to the point of not fitting in with the rest of the series. No, buying 9 E-tanks in the shop is not beating the game.
2 > 4 > 9
2 is by far the easiest, especially on normal difficulty.
4 is a bit difficult if you try to brute force it, but it's a good point to learn the game.
9 can be easy when you make use of the menu shop and buy all the extra lives and tanks.
In fact, all the Mega Man games with item shops are piss easy.
2 or 11. 2 is where everything really started, 11 is the newest game and the most beginner friendly and has a gorillion tools in the forms of challenges and time trials to help you learn how to mega meme properly.
[...] >The game really wants you to use the double gear system and the game becomes significantly easier.
Speed gear becomes increasingly useless the better you get at the game imo, with power gear becoming more and more mandatory to do anything. 11 is kinda of like a lighter version of an X game. You eventually find yourself flying around at light speed vomiting massive projectiles everywhere.
Thanks, but the OP said 11 is the hardest? And I also heard the checkpoints are very punishing? But I can see how what you said will help.
Thanks bros. I'm usually not very interested in brutally difficult games (Which I heard the MegaMan games usually are). But I find a lot of the characters very hot so I wanna try at least beating a few of these games before enjoying myself with the fanart.

Then just download the NES roms and play them. Just play them in order if you really want to learn.

Wouldn't say MM11 is hard, its just that the levels are way too long and leave too much room for error like Crash 4. The game really wants you to use the double gear system and the game becomes significantly easier.

If you're not a homosexual you'll start from the beginning, these games are very short anyway, you can beat them in 4~ hours on your first playthrough.

11 is easy unless you wanna 100% that shit, in that case is hell on earth, for me it's mega man 3 is not that hard but it burns me out with the proto man fights and then the extra stages against the doc robot, thank god they made gamma so absurdly easy
I LOVE seeing the original submitted designs. >the dorky Sparkman doodle got rewarded with a cool redesign and one of the best themes in the game
Kid must've been so proud. Also that Geminiman art was so spot-on they barely changed it in the official redesign.
3 is my least like Mega Man because of obnoxious enemy placement, enemies that seem to take more hits than the other games and brain dead ai for the bosses that do nothing more than shoot and run directly into you at a speed that is near impossible to dodge. Made playing through 4, 5 and 6 more enjoyable because they are way easier.
>Reminder that if you don't use the mechanics the game was designed for you didn't beat the game
Imagine being this moronic, bet you are one of those reddit homosexuals that go with pacifist runs in other games

Just so you know, every NES Megaman gives at least partial credit of its music to a woman, and four of them were composed by women outright. MM11's music isn't the best, but that isn't why.
>Turn on Newcomer mode >Immune to pitfalls >Take 95% reduced damage >Completely slaughter the game >Still unlock everything
I play my games on super easy mode and there's nothing you buttholes can do about it.
Nah, I remember when the BN devs literally said during an interview that the series was for moronic kids that lacked the motor skills to play the other games lmao. Its Classic>X>ZX>>>Zero>>>>BN>>>>>>>>>>>>>>SF
>shitty soulless graphics
The graphics are really good and unlike the SNES games they managed to keep the scale from the NES games in tact which is a pretty huge deal. Most of the level design is really well done, the weapons are some of the best ever, the weapon swapping mechanic is the best it has ever been, and a bunch of other QoL stuff. If not for shop garbage and a lackluster Wily fortress it would be a 10/10, but it's still pretty good. There's not a lot of 2D platformers any more outside of metroidvania trash, so this was a pretty big deal imo.
Why do people who don't like 11 never criticize it beyond OST and stage length, which isn't true if you know how to use your weapons, which also happen to be the best in the series?
Mega Man fans aren't known for having nuanced reasons for disliking something and tend to be very superficial and nostalgia-drunk.
I think 11 stage length is pretty much perfect, megaman stages always felt a bit too short.
I agree. Sometimes throughout the series it seems like weapon ammo is a vestigial mechanic for how infrequently you come close to running out. 11's stage-length makes it an actual factor (also because the loadout is actually useful and fun to use/experiment with + Power-Gear taking more ammo). The sparse of checkpoints also add some much-needed tension in a first-playthrough of Normal and Hard.
I was watching an old friend stream some obscure indie rpg the otherday. When I asked him what it was, he legit said to me, without any hint of irony in his voice, that it was "the darksouls of metroidvanias"
I left the stream immediatly.

I bet you think the gameboy games are hard
It is not one of the easiest m8
I have played these games countless times, 11 is in the top 5 of difficulty
I couldn't get past like the first level. and I've beaten other MM games
There are over 130 of the bloody things. Don't pretend like you can tell them apart.
There's several hundred Pokemon that kids younger than 12 have no trouble keeping straight, Anon. Don't try to pass the buck for your own ignorance.

God, I fricking hate that tank.
>she didn't play on Hardcore difficulty
The Dark Souls II of Mega Man
X6 is not hard or in any way challenging. It's just the slowest in the X series so you can't tell the difference.
X6 Xtreme is definitely quite hard. Normal is a joke.
Bosses still don't do anything to you. Enemies are still placed in spots where you just plink away at them and occasionally dodge. Stages are still boring, poorly designed, and unbearably slow, but not hard.
Maybe don't pick zero and break the game like a pussy then.

The demo a good representation of this game? Does progress transfer?

Good to know, thanks anon
9 and 10 are the hardest. moronicly hard. 11 was pretty easy though. Only marginally harder than 8, which is the easiest.
9 is the easiest, just admit your bad at video games.
I don’t get this, 9 and 10 are fairly standard.
9 has intentional difficulty spikes and segments that are purposely designed to trip other the player, almost to the point of not fitting in with the rest of the series. No, buying 9 E-tanks in the shop is not beating the game.
I've never played Megaman seriously until the end. What Megaman game should I start with?
Whatever one you didn't finish.
Think for yourself.
That was a long time ago on like a handheld or something. I didn't remember which one.
2, 4 or 9 are good entry points.
Thanks. Can you rank the ones you've chosen by difficulty?
2 > 4 > 9
2 is by far the easiest, especially on normal difficulty.
4 is a bit difficult if you try to brute force it, but it's a good point to learn the game.

Don't play 2 on normal.
>Don't play 2 on normal.
Let this lady play on normal if she wants to ease herself into the series. It's about getting into it, not going in dry.
I'm not a lady. What makes you think that?
Thanks bro

No I'm not. Thanks. The short length will help a lot.
You need an optional weapon in MM1 to beat the game and you find it in elecman stage but you need gutsman´s weapon to get it, be mindful of that.
Well that sucks. Does the game tell you in anyway?
No its kind of a frick you moment, MM1 is a bit clunky like that but dont worry it doesnt happen again in the entire series.
Okay thanks. Is playing the legacy collection on Steam a good option?
Some people say it has some input lag but I play that game on the switch and didnt notice any.
Alright thanks. I think I'll buy it for the next Steam sale.

Pretty much. Its how to spot the dumbdumbs.
I consider this game the hardest but maybe that’s because I don’t use the double gears. I also think the recoil in it is BS and very frustrating
used to be a huge megaman fan and didn't really like this game
