Give me a solid, marketable Ash team as if you were in charge of making an iconic team for him to just have for any future appearances including live action
Pikachu
Charizard
Poliwhirl
Ivysaur
Heracross
Lapras
Tried to avoid all kanto, lapras can be swapped out for a fotm
Lucario, gengar and espeon were considered but they can be given to his sidekicks

I don't watch the ashnime and haven't since I was a kid. I just thought this would be a fun thread idea.
Don't mind him it's just that /vp/ has never recovered from the wet fart that was Journey's finale.
Nobody cares Gaywad
Infernape because he has his epic DBZ style blaze power up.
>Charizard (Both Mega)
>H-Decidueye
>Greninja
>Gengar
>Gliscor
>Pikachu

I'll stick with the champion team, it's one of my least favorite seasons, but for some reason that team screams Ash everywhere.
Regarding Ash, the design of the latest movies is perfect.
Well since I don't think Ash will return, this will be his video game champion team canonically.
sovlless aside from Gengar
Pikachu
Ash Greninja
Charizard
Sceptile
Krookodile
Haulucha
Pikachu
Charizard
Bulbasaur
Squirtle
Gengar
Snorlax
You know...
* Pikachu
* Charizard
* Bulbasaur
* Squirtle
* Gengar
* Dragonite
The other pokemon (Bayleaf, Infernape, Greninja, Rowlet) represent specific moments.
This is the team that best encapsulates the essence of Ash, an essence that was lost until he was reduced to a bland self-insert character with no personality trait beyond "I'm a good boy, I like pokemon."
This works as well. Two members from his last team and the rest debuted in the first series.
I like it but dragonite and charizard are a tad bit redundant
Drop Dragonite for Pidgeot
It would probably be the Kanto starters, Snorlax, and either Gengar or Lucario.
Lolcario was basiaclly Greninja but with not nearly as much buildup.
Lucario was just a seasonal ace that was dropped quickly when the main storyline ended.
I get the signifcance of Poliwhril but he never owned one which would just be a weird inclusion. My 6 would be picrel.
Pikachu/Charizard - obvious reasons
Pidgeot - Ties into the end of series with it returning and a pretty memorable Pokemon
Sceptile - Grass type of choice, "cool", strong bond.
Oshawott - Ash would frequently have NFE with him and it finishes the grass/fire/water trio. Lots of personality
Heracross - No type overlap and it really feels like an Ash Pokemon to round things out.
Didn't pick any Kukui Pokemon or any that are "away" like Squirtle, Goodra and Lapras.
>he never owned one which would just be a weird inclusion
I originally wanted to include more pokemon he never owned but felt like he shoud have but I they just didn't fit on the team. I think Farfetch'd, Fearow, Passimian, Blaze Tauros and Piloswine also fit.
From my OP team I'd swap lapras for gengar. I think gengar is very Ash
pikachu
charizard
lucario
greninja
rowlet
last is an open slot
I feel like this is a good balance of iconic mons with both strong/cool and cute mons and not just some maximum powerhouse ash team
What if Ash's main Mega Evolved Pokémon was Mega Heracross since Mega Lucario is Korrina's main Pokémon? .
I hope that if Korrina returns in another game or remake they give her a team consisting of Lucario, Gallade, Blaziken, Heracross, Lopunny, and Medicham. Varying the Mega in each encounter, even with a Swampert as a surprise against the player.
Pikachu
Charizard
Ivysaur
Cramorant
Annihilape
Snorlax
> "tried to avoid all kanto"'
> All gen 1 except Heracross
> Poliwhirl
Tajiri betrayed us and the manga sucks.
The right answer is he should have a different team using his reserves in every future appearance.
Pikachu
Infernape
Charizard
Sceptile
Pidgeot
Greninja
>pikachu
>charizard
>lucario
>greninja
>donphan/snorlax/bulbasaur/some weird unevolved pick
>lycanroc
>Pikachu
>Charizard
>Sceptile
>Greninja
>Lucario
>Rotating Team Member (Snorlax, Gengar, Muk, Tauros, Lapras, Infernape, etc. etc.)
Balanced mix of generations (1, 3, 4, 6), a fully evolved starter of each type, no overlapping types, all popular Pokémon worthy of being on a champion-level team.
Lets change the subject, hypothetically what team Ash would have gotten if he went to Paldea?
>tried to avoid all kanto
>literally just one non-KANTOOOOO pokemon in the lineup
