The dexcut will end next year

> Gen 7: Had all the Pokémon in every game until Let's Go which is gen 7 by technicality. Cannot receive Pokémon from previous mainline games only
> Gen 8: announces and formalizes the dexcut. First games able to receive Pokémon from Pokémon Home Bank's inferior more expensive successor. All gen games have transfer but incomplete restricted transfer because of incomplete rosters
> Gen 9: Continues the Dexcut trends of gen 8 for its debut games and DLC
However in order for gen 8 to be the objective worst gen 9 must end the dexcut. Gen 7 starting with full national dex and gen 9 ending with full national dex places gen 8 at the center of dexcut dragging its neigbors down with it thus truly being the worst generation ever. But through this darkness not only will the Pokémon come back permanently but the games will get better as well. Especially if Gen 10's scheduled released year of 2024 conflicts with the Switch 2's launch forcing gamefreak to delay to Gen 10 to 2025 to give them time to adjust to the new hardware.

We still have more games to come in G9. Whatever they are.

I misremembered the years because I'm old. What I meant was
2024: Gen 9 games that undo the dexcut
2025: Switch 2's launch that pushes back gen 10's launch
      2026: gen 10.

        >undo the dexcut
At best, we will get a game that includes the Pokemon not yet on Switch. This will likely be the norm going forward; all Pokemon might be available, but they'll be spread across multiple releases within that generation.

Not if you want to play pokémon too.
They only care for kids because brainwashing them right as kids means they get fiuxated on the shit as they grow like you and need to consume to get the hit of endorphins.
That must be why you're so desperate for this shit. You want to feel something beyond need.

At this point I'm just assuming every gen from now on will lack at least a few Pokemon if only because they can add them back the next gen and have that as a selling point, plus add less new Pokemon. Wifi spoiled people but in the early games it was effectively impossible to get every Pokemon too because most games didn't have all of them, trading wasn't nearly as easy and Gen 3 wasn't backwards compatible.
So it's not like they haven't done this before, Fire Red and Leaf Green was pretty much just to get the Kanto and Johto stuff back in after Ruby and Sapphire was mostly new Hoenn stuff.

With all SV DLC out it seems like we'll have about 95 percent of the total roster back assuming the leaks are accurate, which is probably the best we can hope for.

Congratulations, it only took you 4+ years.
      >So it's not like they haven't done this before
The very fact they announced this as a new policy means indeed that they haven't done this before, Joe.

Way to be a frickin butthole about it, no shit it wasn't official but in RS while they did technically have the data of all the Pokemon in practice they were impossible to get unless you hacked it. But if that's the general attitude of this board to immediately start off snarky and hostile you wienersuckers don't even deserve a game that has them all. have a nice day

Reminder you've had 10 years to know you won't be getting a Pokemon game that has stable performance either.

Let's be honest, you won't get any game in any franchise with a stable performance anymore. HD was a mistake, why couldn't we have stayed in the 00s forever

Dexit is franchise policy right now. The games with Dexit sold millions so why should Gamefreak bother? Putting in all the pokemon is too much work for something that won't affect sales.

      Policies can change.

You know, I actually feel bad for all the kids here who started with gen 5 and accidentally got nostalgia for the worst generation. Now they have to see all their favorites get torn down all the time by everyone else who played the good games first.

Shut the frick up shit taste haver. My first game was crystal.

The only way it could possibly slightly change is if they add the whole Dex by the end of the final DLC, because that's clearly a new incentive they have to make people buy it

They will just do the same thing as last time - release gen 10 for Switch 1, which will tank Switch 2 sales and make gen 10 a middling title (which is pretty good for pokemon).

    Also:
    >Especially if Gen 10's scheduled released year of 2024
Game Freak never released a new Gen pair in two years. Partly because when they tried initially, they failed so hard it took three years in the end to produce the new iteration, partly because three years gives merch the widest marketing window possible, while also not outstaying its welcome and ending generations with falling sales. They also never release a new pokémon game until at least the 2nd year after the system's launch, to continue to drive sales of the previous hardware while Nintendo works on migrating its own first party IP's to it and to allow Nintendo time to produce a hardware revision more suited to giving to children to play pokémon. Gen 10's launch will be in 2026. For a start, Nintendo ruled out a new console for this year and secondly, no fricking c**t involved in promoting the brand across its entire range of products is as moronic to ignore the legitimately disgusting amounts of money they can pull in with a new Gen launching referencing the 30-year real-world history of the series in conjunction with an entire year of 30th anniversary merch shilling.
