I remember during the "WOW IS SO DEAD FFXIV IS THE BESTEST MMO EVER!!!" shitposting psyop years ago, the ffxiv trannies would always say they didn't need mods or third party tools to play. Fast forward to today and they will literally send death threats to third party tool devs on discord and X formerly known as twitter if they don't update their tools 3 hours after a new patch. These homies can't play without it. My entire friends list was also barren until Dalamund and Mare was also updated to work 3-4 days after the most recent patch which also goes to show this game is now just Second Life and those same homies can't play without their mods that give them giant horse wieners and planet sized breasts.
To anyone who has played the game longer than this single expansion. The content is dire, the patch content is a disappointment, it factually has less content and longer times between content patches than any expansion previously. Island Sanctuary is a joke, Eureka Orthos is just a clone of PoTD with nothing unique, the raids are dull and largely a mechanical rehash of previous tiers, most new glams are recolours. The story is thoroughly uninspired for the MQ, Raids and AR. I don't expect an EW babby or shadowBlack person who has no point of reference to be able to really compare. There is no universe in which you can place Endwalker about Shadowbringers, Heavensward or Stormblood which had by far the best content cycle of all expansions.
>it factually has less content [...] than any expansion previously
you guys keep saying this but nobody proves it by comparing the amount of content with EW
>not one mention of the ultimates
yeah i thought so, the only people complaining about EW are shitters that don't do content. There's a reason losing casual slop like eureka/bozja triggers them so much.

Doesn't matter, it's there to be aspirational content that sets the standard everything else looks up to. It's like asking why pvp has a ranked mode when 99% of players just play casual. Or why your country has a downtown and central business district if you only leave your suburban house to visit walmart.
If you don't do the hard stuff, your job is to keep your head down and be glad that it exists to be a shining example.

Actually it's because the devs are lazy Black folk as this expansion has proven. You are factually incorrect however since feedback has been overall positive regarding Bozja. People actually care about it. Unlike Ultimate Raids.

I don't understand why they can't just give Bozja it's own "permanent equipment and skill" system, why is everything consumables? I have 0 fun in Bozja because it hurts me to use consumables so I just did the campaign and left.

Flexibility, balance, ease of use, and an upgrade to rewards is why it’s consumables.
It would be way more annoying if I had to go and “attune” my tank gear to one of the essence such as irregular, martialist or indomitable then just having the actions in my chest. It also lets you swap mid content rather than outside only. If you had some permanent essence shifter it would be stupid. As an added bonus, you can sell the essences you do not need.

You're arguing with the other extreme sect of cultists. The ultimate raiders. >most people even liked eureka when it came out
Good one anonymous
>citing Heavensward as an example of a lot of content
Only thing 3.0 has over 6.0 is more dungeons per patch, but that's no real difference in content. It had PotD & Diadem as its sole optional content, but the latter was a fricking underdeveloped trainwreck.
Which to be honest is a shame because I feel like it started off really strong. Post patch EW is like ARR tier. The Savages had a few good fights and the Ultimates were decent but I legit feel there is an unbalance in the content given at the moment, and there's nothing really good to work on during the expansion, and its been pretty dry on the casual end of things.
Guild Wars situation with the posters coming in to shit on 14 back when Secrets of the Obscure was coming out reminded me of how lopsided MMOs can be. That game has a wonderful open world, god tier mount system that makes people work for it, and people actively doing open world content, but legit the endgame is a fricking joke with strikes being extreme tier at best and the actual raids being discontinued after Path of Fire.
I think they might be able to salvage things in DT if Yoship actually takes a look at what works for other games and considers making a more balanced experience, I know plenty of people who just don't wanna do the criterion or deep dungeon content since it just scares them, and I know plenty of high end raiders who refuse to even do anything but raidlog anymore, if they found a good balance to incentivize both ends to have fun together it would probably be for the best.
>xivhomosexuals dont even play content, they just jerk off nonstop to their erp wife
The dude who made Mare should get hired by Squeenix because that troony single-handedly must have boosted their profit margins by 400% since all the erpBlack folk can't live without it.
you mean the wowBlack folk who joined when bald goblin tried the game cant live without mods
xivhomosexuals dont even play content, they just jerk off nonstop to their erp wife
It was a gradual decline.
In my experience, a lot of new players joined with the expectation of using mods. They were mostly ridiculed, or at best, ignored. After a few months, this population started to grow, and it became more and more normal to use mods. Long-term players slowly started to cave into this culture as it went from an abberation among newer players to "the norm", with those that were staunchly against it beginning to quit. As of about 6 months ago (when I last played), pretty much everyone I knew was either modding to at least a small degree, or had left the game.
The only people I know who still log in only do so solely for erp. I'm not even on the erp DC since I'm EU. They just go to venues or gpose with each other. I tried to get into /xivg/ and virtually everyone I met over there just wanted to typefrick. I have never seen a game community where coomerhomosexualry was actually the expected norm to the extent I did with this game. It literally fricking reeks of cum.
Don't look at PSO2, or what Ragnarok Online servers become after a few months. Even the City of Heroes revival's have become this by all accounts. It's like F-List and MUCK's fell out of favor due towards moderation, and Second Life become more and more strict so people had to go elsewhere for this stuff, and MMO's was the next best thing. I just wonder where these gays are going to go once those dry out/shut down and even Ganker eventually just ass blasts post beyond a selective length if not the OP giving an info dump post.
Yeah, legit most of these people pretty much where doing this stuff via SL or F-List, and then hopped over to FF14 after it became too expensive to keep up with new looks/designs and changes to RLV was going on, along with the entire change to Mature sim allowances, or if F-List case started banning anyone using characters/elements that in-universe where under 18 in any way/kind, and anything the mods viewed as underage in general. Once 14 drops the hammer fully on mods and can detect them both quickly, and punish you for using them near instantly, that's when they'll flock somewhere else, but where I'd love to see given shit like Twitter/X has all but killed the RP accounts, bluesky doesn't give people many way to find such content, and other sites/services are all going the same way shooting down the eRP shit.

>Once 14 drops the hammer fully on mods
I don't see this happening. A significant portion of the continuous playerbase who stay perma subbed use mods. Namely the "RP" community and I use "RP" loosely since what a lot of these people do barely constitutes as RP but you get what I mean. If Mare were to go kaput and people had to go back to erping in rags on their default, ugly models like in ancient times I think they'd all drop the game in a heartbeat.

Why would they ever crack down on mods if their sole existence brings in thousands of paying customers. People really overestimate corpo integrity.
I only ever started with mods because of square's failures in the first place. first the launcher refused to save my password, so I replaced it. then I got tired of dealing with east coast ping, so I turned on plug-ins and installed noclippy. then I stopped caring altogether because this game is so stuck in the past with so many stupid quality of life issues. no visual mods yet but it's going to happen someday when I get sick of seeing sausage fingers, blocky feet, and shitty hair.
to be fair, when your game's being run by trannies the only choice left is to move ship, like whenever I see videos of wow devs, they constantly have rainbow flags and tr00ns in them, shit's embarrassing
>this game is now just second life
pretty much yeah and i fricking hate it. as if the community wasnt bad enough. before there was still hope to run into some cool people but now ive completely given up on any social aspect of the game because its just filled to the brim with furries, homosexuals, trannies, and mareBlack folk. i want to quit but i know i wont be able to resist playing through the new expansion and doing savage, although its weird to think about how it'll be the first time i go through an expansion completely alone
The only people who needed mods and addons are the wow community who can't function without DBM telling them what to do. They came into FF and hit a wall of why can't I do this trial and caused this.
>people have been using addons in FF14 for years >no one ever really bats an eye about it >suddenly a massive influx of WoW refugees start playing the game during EW >cry that there's no good mods or that they're too hard to install >cry that they have to learn the raids instead of having some sort of mod to tell them everything to do >find out that there is a (fairly obsucre at the time) raid helper add on >immediately start using it and telling others in party they group with that they need to be using it too >ex-wow streamers playing FF14 start using it as well >SquareEnix says knock it off or all mods are gone >the wow refugees flip a lid and start sending death threats
Stop being a disingenuous homosexual. The only people crying about mods in the game are Wow refugees that are too stupid to learn the game. All the actual FF14 players that have been using mods for years know the risks that come with it, and the time it takes for mods to be updated after a major patch.
Meanwhile the native ffxivians will send death threats to coomer mod developers because they can't figure out how to attach their new horse wiener in penumbra after it got updated.
Tangentially related, but because of people like you, I've never once considered someone receiving "literally death threats" as anything remotely serious
I know many XIV morons can't play without their mods ready, but why do you have to be such a gay with how you talk about it man
Nobody takes death threats seriously. But death threats were sent. And the act of sending death threats shows just how absolutely mind broken with seethe and rage someone must be. That's the FFXIV modding community for you.
Reminder that raidgay defenders are lying more than even yoshida himself, trying to force everyone into believing Yoshida said anything about homogenizing rotations for casuals. >Yoshida: " "That's a difficult question," begins Yoshi-P. "We have skill rotations varying between 60 and 120 seconds for the most intense phases and that's how it works currently. But the reason it's like this today is that we've received, in the past, feedback from all over the world saying that the timing of fights were difficult, it was difficult to align skills between classes, we were asked to unify everything, and precisely because we received these requests to homogenize this, we homogenized it. Although hardcore players make up the majority of those who complain about how FF14's combat has become homogenized over the years, there is a significant portion of players, who we can consider as intermediates, who may not dedicate themselves to the more difficult encounters as diligently, but who do want to challenge themselves to overcome the game's most difficult fights and engage more frequently with the combat system than others who really stick more to the non-combat options offered by the MMO. "
It's literally the raidgays begging for homogenization because casuals don't even touch the raids or care about combat content as said by Yoshida himself.
Raidtrannies and especially wannabe raidtrannies are truly a blight on this game.
I'll make a tldr for you since you can't read either >We homogenized the classes despite hardcore players complaining about homogenization because midcore players begged for homogenization unlike casuals who don't engage with raids
If you are complaining about casuals ruining your jobs, you probably are a raidtroony that still progs top or P12s to this day.
>this shit again
It doesn't matter whether it was casuals, midcore, or hardcore players outside of JP, because their feedback is quite literally put in the shredder before it ever reaches the dev team. It's JP player feedback that caused this mess and I can guarantee you that there is at least a moderate consensus among all levels of play in JP that homogenisation was a good thing.
>Although hardcore players make up the majority of those who complain about how FF14's combat has become homogenized over the years, there is a significant portion of players, who we can consider as intermediates, who may not dedicate themselves to the more difficult encounters as diligently, but who do want to challenge themselves to overcome the game's most difficult fights and engage more frequently with the combat system than others who really stick more to the non-combat options offered by the MMO. >combat has become homogenized over the years, there is a significant portion of players, who we can consider as intermediates, who may not dedicate themselves to the more difficult encounters as diligently, >mediocre players
Hold up. Is Yoshida saying MIDCORE players are why the game is getting easier? The same people who insist they have no content?
And that's the fundamental problem with the game. It's so fricking archaic and set in its ways that they can't MAKE it work. Or they won't try to. Imagine dungeons which aren't dogshit and provide an ever changing challenge. And I MEAN challenge? That would be great. Change it up every month or so. Keep shit fresh. But nah they won't. There is a lack of midcore content in this game and the lack of a Eureka/Bozja certainly didn't help with that.
They just want more people doing harder content, but honestly I believe that they are full of bullshit and just want to make balancing job easier for themselves.
>EW Jobs is the worst so far >Yoshi still had to come out and apologize for not getting the balance right anyway
Frick Balance, making Jobs fun should be the priority
They've been doing this shit since the end of Stormblood. Are they frick doing it to make it easier for people. They're doing it to make it easier on themselves.
Which is also hilarious because EW had the worst job balancing in XIV history during 6.2 and 6.3. It's one thing to exclude MNK or PLD, but they had to do an emergency nerf because a third of the jobs were getting filtered even at top level. EW has the most potency buffs of any expansion, and this is because they made job balancing "easier" on themselves with homogenization. Just what the frick happened to CBU3? >inb4 FFXVI
That was mediocre as well.
And back then for Gordias it was "MNK doesn't bring raidbuffs so don't apply unless you got gear drops and even then still don't apply we only want trick and litany". The devs didn't really have an idea of splitting savage and normal on their first attempt, but no excuse for poor testing three expansions later.
I have no idea what the frick midcore even means anymore. bozja is midcore but also savage is midcore?? where did people even get this idea that bozja wasn't normal content? the only hard parts were DRS and duels which were completely optional. who even are midcore players?
It means I want content comparable to the CE's from Bozja.

Bro the red chocobo is harder than ANYTHING in alliance raids. The fact that the CE's have numerous instant kill mechanics that will one shot everyone but tanks (who instead nearly die) already puts it a step above AR's. I still see entire groups get wiped by them. AR's are snoozefests.
Now CE's are hardly uber difficult savage tier but they're a huge step up from roulette sleepwalking.
game fell of hard and i very much doubt that their engine allows them to do anything exciting
7.0 being like a year away is a mood killer too
its kind of over
I said this would happen. Endwalker is a veritable disappointment and shows how stale the game has become. Do Black folk really think Dawntrail will be any different? Of course it won't be lmao.
All I do now is fish and when I'm done fishing I do anything else. What else is there to do in this game? /beesknees at some homosexual in-game club and call it socialising?
endwalker was a good spot to just stop playing
all the plot lines were wrapped up
no reason to come back for the story and keep playing
post expansion quests were shit anyway
why do people care so much about their houses anyway? The vast majority of you don't even use them as intended i.e for decorating it with stuff. You literally only want it because its rare and limited which is as soulless a reason as it gets to want something.
meh the mmo playerbase as a whole is one drought and a meme infested shit blizzcon away from having eyeballs towards other games in 2024. Does that mean 7.0 is gonna be good? frick no, but people will probably flock to it and my server will have a moronic que time and 30 minute log out.
Have any of the treasure map items been even good this expansion? Last expansion we had a shitload of god tier outfits, now square gives us actual garbage and puts the good stuff on the store.
Happiness set is probably the only one I liked, but not enough to actively go for it or buy it from the MB.
Map glamour was overall weak this expansion.
I cleared the 3 latest Ultimates on-patch (except TEA) with a decent, not uberprogamer static without ever using mods or plug-ins, not even ACT.
There’s literally no reason for using this kind of crutch in this game.
All of those fights teach you to rely on your own learned habits or ques to get shit done, at that point anyone relying on plugins or mods for it are gonna be too slow to do it right. Imagine if someone relied on a cactbot callout to do Wave Cannon 2 mit correctly, they would probably botch it constantly.
All they need to do to make xiv optional dungeons good is copy lotro skirmishes, i.e. a shit ton of randomness >random bosses >random minibosses >different trash mob composition each time >random (and very incentivised) optional objectives
>the story and world have gone to absolute dogshit >'ok, Myths of the Realm and Pandemonium make up for it, and the island sanctuary and variant dungeon' >variant dungeons end up being dogshit >island ends up being loathsome garbage >they kill the Twelve >Panda boils down to "DUDE ANCIENTER ALIENS"
>the story and world have gone to absolute dogshit >implying the story was ever good to anyone that read a fricking book before
if you think the story has any redeemable qualities at any point in time youre underage, moronic, or both.
the fact that the entire game was made to fit the dogshit story is laughably pathetic.
It's the only new actual content we got this expansion. And we only got two. Over the course of an entire expansion. Two. With no fricking reason to re-run them after you clear them both once due to the lack of rewards.
There's plenty to complain about because it could be so much better and instead it feels like they did the bare minimum. With Rokkon they could have taken the complaints on board from Sil'dihn but as ever they don't listen.
>It's the only new actual content we got this expansion
Bro, your mammet sweatshop?
In all seriousness, I can't believe they wasted an entire expansion on this fricking Island, and it's going to mean frick all after spending so much time on it.
An expansion of the Firmament Restoration leading towards players getting a new housing district kicks the shit out of this crud.
What's so good about it? Personally my issue with the content is that nothing of value comes out of it. Be it end game gear, rare cosmetics or pricey knickknacks similarly to what bunny chests were in Eureka. I don't feel compelled to do something if I am not rewarded accordingly
Variant is fun. Add packs are randomized and you get different ones. Bosses also change their patterns, this is something I wish Expert did, oh well. In groups you can do dumb shit like tank on a BLM. The locations are also very pretty. It's great and I didn't mind going through them repeatedly.
Criterion is more Savage, which I enjoy progging. Rewards suck but the fights themselves are a reward enough for me, I don't need shiny pixel to feel it was worth the time (But I won't complain if we get something nice next patch) Both mounts are also less interesting than the variant ones.

Not at all. Enjoy never getting the characters you want until they're on a rerun years from now and you'll have to cough up real money anyways to make them useful.
Non-shill opinion yes and no. Genshin has a very heinous fomo problem and the dailies/weeklies are very cynically designed time wasters to bump up engagement. The actual game of exploring the world is good, music is fantastic. Doing something like exploring dragonspine and then seeing Liyue right afterwards is extremely kino. However the instant you start doing shit like artifact grinding is when you should stop. There’s also way too much dialogue and you can’t skip through text quickly.
Ironically, genshin should be set up to be like ffxiv, where you could play the game slow as frick, but it isn’t. It incentivizes rushing the actual good part of the game.
I still find it funny that ffxivgays hailed asmon playing the game as some win as if he had dropped wow in favor of it. It was painfully obvious he didn't like the game and only stalled for so long just to lead everyone on and avoid the drama that would come from publically admitting he thought it was shit during the games sterile and manufactured shilling phase.
the only people i've noticed who keep going on about asmon gold are the people who came over from wow, before blizzards bullshit causing people to leave nobody who play xiv really gave two shits
Nothing which is why he has no idea what the guy is talking about, why he's sat with a confused look on his face and why his only talking point is to keep referring to WoW when it has no application to anything being said.
Still won't stop him from milking "drama" and making react videos, I'm glad the community is FINALLY coming to realise he'll never play the game again and stop thinking this Goblin would be good for the game again.
Look what he's done for WoW, that player base is so fricking moronic and Mazed, let them stay in their lane.
why are all MMOs so completely riddled with aids?
would it kill someone to make an mmo with reasonable progression time? why is it just an accepted thing that playing an mmo means signing your life away to a boring pointless gear treadmill?
Guild Wars 2 unironically has what you want then, outside of certain stat combo gear sets that maybe might be used that new expansions have, the gear you have at level 80 as long as you have Ascended tier and have the right stats, will never really need a bis change ever again. Legendary takes that type and lets you freely change the stats so its a multi use tool if things change.
Again however that progress leads to people doing the why and bother shuffle, the raids offer easier ascended gear, but why continually do the raids, and strikes etc unless you're just farming gold.
I think in general MMOs are just a time sink genre and if you want less investment, look for a different one, even with games offering horizontal progression, it still leads to some grind.
Main reason why some other MMO players hate XIV is because there's no gear grind.
XIV has no gear treadmill though and it takes maybe 1-2 days after hitting max level to be fully geared for raid.
Or 30 seconds if you have a friend that can spare 2-3 million gil (even poorest poorgays can do that).
See? I could tell. You post on Ganker, you play an aids riddled coomer game and posted a suggestive anime catgirl. 90% chance you were a sweaty erptard. I fricking love being right.
Ironically, it's also much harder to gear up a second job in XIV compared to other mmos. Well, harder isn't the right word, but the game isn't friendly about you getting BiS on multiple jobs, which is why the mega autist raiders all use ults to gear up faster with more variety.
Getting patch bis and getting raid ready gear are 2 completely different things bro bur I agree that farming bis is horrible until the weekly limit lock gets removed
But what if I run out of pots doe
You buy the maid attire and visit my house for 5 minutes to get a stack of potions
>Or 30 seconds if you have a friend that can spare 2-3 million gil (even poorest poorgays can do that).
Why does everyone keep saying this.
I have reached Yanxia and only have 1 million, and I have bought absolutely nothing so far, saved every single gil. Dungeon gear can't be sold at all, any gear I have received that can be sold on the market only goes for pennies.
Where the frick do combat-only players make all that money?
Buy mats that are used for crafting raiding stuff like pots with the tomestones you get for free by running any content. Especially good during prog times.
No shit anonymous l, you’re not anywhere close to level 90 stuff that sells a lot but you sometimes get random stuff that you can sell for hundreds of thousands from your retailers.
endgame tomestone mats
unreal rewards and merc runs if you raid
drops from eureka, bozja, deep dungeons
selling treasure map materials or ex trial materials
even roulettes in need add up
I can gear up multiple jobs in two months in XI than XIV would allow me, simply because XIV engages in weekly limits on your active gear acquisition from the sole two sources (tomestones & raid drops). It's fricking dumb in XIV when it tries to hammer home the "You can play every job on the one character!" even more than XI ever did.
When the biggest Japslop mmo boomer that played shit like FFXI and worships YoshiP starts saying the game is shit and the patches are mid, things are dire

Don’t remember his name, just that he deleted his character
>Only Arthars and Zepla are capable of retaining their integrity and criticizing the game
the second SE starts waving invites to try new shit out in front of their faces they will say the game was good and there was never any problem
Arthars has said repeatedly that he was bored out of his mind at fanfest and that Xenos literally fell asleep during the keynote. He explained that he isn't dooming too hard because historically the first keynote never reveals much, but if the second is just more of the same shit as ShB/EW then it's going to be scary
Zepla is just is sour graping the fact that she's too fricking moronic to do TOP, her DSR body drag with her throwing people out left and right because they couldn't carry her useless ass across the finish line until she solid low greyed the fight was proof she just couldn't do hard content. I think Arthars has legit criticism but lets be real about Zepla, shes just bitter.
Bro its ok for XIV to not put in effort soken was diagnosed with cancer sweetie, Yoshida even cried on stage, if they don't want to give us raids like dun scaith or launch monastery then RESPECT. THEIR. WISHES. CHUD.
The good news is that most shadowbabs are starting to wake up from their prolonged honeymoon phase. They were always the biggest wienersuckers who would sperg if anyone criticised this stale MMO.
>Criterion (not even criterion savage) requires more ilvl than the savage tier released in the same patch >Even if it required the same or lower ilvl, it would not give you gear to help you transition into 8 man savage
Nice midcore content Yoshida.
Min ilvl to queue up for Another Mount Rokkon is 640. Anabaseios' min ilvl is 630 for the first fight.
You can clear criterion in crafted gear
Yes, and? Criterion's min ilvl should match the gear of the latest dungeon, and should give gear that allows you to attempt savage (but is worse than crafted gear). That is if they want it to be midcore content.
>savage min ilevel is a lie and always has been
Doesn't matter, what matters is the game's requirements. And even if we make it 640, it matches Rokkon's when it should be lower (if it's intended to be midcore).
They never marketed criterion as "midcore" content
They marketed it as savage dungeons, savage for 4 people
Maybe. Doesn't stop people here from saying "why do people ask for more midcore content? We just got a criterion dungeon!"
And in my opinion it should have been that bridge between normal content and savage content. But that's just my opinion.
THEY LITERALLY DID YOU LYING Black person
The promise was always that criterion dungeons would be "around the difficulty level of extreme trials".
Nah gotta keep the revisionism train going so we can pretend that there isn't a fricking mountain of random bullshit yoshitter lied about, fricking hell
highly doubt i'll have the time to filter through all the relevant live letters before thread autosages but i'll catch you when i find it
I think it was around when they discussed the internal changes of the previously announced "criterion dungeons" into variant, criterion, criterion savage and the reward structure.

Check the pre-release LL. Theres one from October and another in November. I know one of those is also where Yoshida said PVP Series rewards would be available for purchase with the crystals after the series ended, yet we still haven't seen any of that.

How the frick did it turn into Savage and Savage+?

Laziness. Crit savage has no unique mechanics, it's just criterion with more limitations placed on you. Or more accurately, criterion has no unique mechanics, it's just savage with less limitations.
They cut out the extreme tier to test the waters, then when the playerbase ate the slop up they just kept the low effort design plan running.

I'm sorry but I have watched copious amount of anime so my Japanese is excellent and I didn't hear EKUSTRIIMU so I'll assume you made it up.

He didn't say TOP would be easier, that's a mistranslation. What he DID say is much more hilarious. >We did not make [TOP] to be harder than DSR, it may be easier for some and harder for others but the goal wasn't to increase the challenge from DSR

>extremely tight p4 dps check on patch
If you had the worst comp setup, sure, which prog groups didn't. Main issue was not realizing you could hold your second 2min in ph2 to then do two bursts in ph3, which allows holding some gauge/CDs along with LB3 for ph4 which greatly alleviates the DPS check.

I liked P1, as SGE. My static melted during P4 consistency and I never bothered to look for another but personally I thought what I experienced was fine. It was my first ult, so no point of reference on others, but I've been playing since SB and cleared every savage tier since Sigmascape. Was dreading P5, and also part of why I didn't look for a new group.

well of course you liked p1, you didn't have to flex and you can toxicon/eprog in panto

Some of those patterns cost me toxxikons, and using e.prog during pantyraider was what I was trying to not do. Zoe+physis+e.prog+panhaima was what I would use at very start of it then pop a karachole and ixochole during the last two sets. Was really bad without full toxxikons, but yeah not needing to flex was great 🙂
I remember this as well. It's specifically why I was excited for it in the first place. The disappointment quickly set in after the initial excitement wore off however and I realised that yet again these Black person asiatic devs were talking out their ass.
Huh? Maybe at the very early stage they said that but at the liveleter before the first criterion they said thats the difficulty will be on par with the 1-3 floors of the savage

And even that ended up being a lie when the mechanics of the very first boss of the very first dungeon included shit from end of tier savage fights.

I wouldn't call it a lie honestly because its very subjective but looking at the "world first race", people cleared the base criterion very fast
By the time criterion is released you will have 8 lockouts of normal mode and 8 weeks of tomestones in your pocket and prices of the crafted wont be that high anymore, minilvl for criterion is not a problem
Why are so many of you homosexuals think people care about what these streamers say? I legitimately never heard of these people for years until you homosexuals started to post them here.
Some of them have been around since at least HW days. don't know why people suddenly care about them when they've been consistently mocked until Asmomgone started to play.
Why does this dead troony game no one plays get multiple daily threads on Ganker that reach bumb limit.
Talk about good MMO's like GW2 or WoW Dragonflight ffs.
>Why does this dead troony game no one plays get multiple daily threads on Ganker that reach bumb limit.
ERPers need something to talk about while they afk and they don't know anything besides this game since it's all they do all day.
GW2 only has a good living world and mounts, the raids, fractals and strikes dry up quick. If you could somehow mix Guild Wars 2's open world setup with 14s endgame, you'd have a killer mmo.
plot twist: the first group turned it into the second by making it a critical norm to play the right way. devs responded by making it impossible to play the wrong way.
Don’t tell that anon the truth, they don’t want to know that the “fun” got optimized out by older players.
This. And damn them to the depths of mordor for that. Was so fun experimenting and exploring, but then day by day year by year I'd hear how I was "wasting time" and "the true content is when you're max level and this is how you go about it."
is this genre cursed?
i was looking forward to blue balls protocol, and that flopped in a spectacular way. so bad that you don't even hear about it anymore
then there's ashes of cremation, which looks like generic unity assets put together with 0 soul
and then you have riot's mmo. stuck in dev hell, ghostcrawler jumped ship, and the leads are nothing but troons
frick, i might just go back to lineage or some shit
MMOs take a lot of money to run and need to run constantly
So not a single dev can avoid turning into the biggest greediest israelite over one, even if they started alright
This leaves most MMOs in development hell as publishers and investors play musical chairs, the ones that do release are gutted into soulless whale farms by the usual suspects
Your only hope for an mmo is one that is outside the whims of Streamers and their window licking audience.
Which is why the two largest mmo's are old, not because they're long established, there are older mmo's or because they have bad graphics, there are far better looking mmo's.
It's because in both games, there is a strong community and playerbase outside content creators and streamers and will always remain no matter what the former does.
The problem newer mmo's face, what New World and Lost Ark both went through is that had in their opinion, had to appeal to Streamers in order to garner an audience which worked for about a month in each game's case, which is the time of the marketing budget and as soon as that stopped the Streamers left and their audience left leaving the game population of those two mmo's decimated.
It's not a story unique to New World and Lost Ark but they are examples.
It's why FFXIV will still be around for years to come because the game, the playerbase exists beyond Streamers, it doesn't require them, WoW far more dependant on content creators as was seen two years ago when the WoWugee crisis happened, but the game wouldn't die if all their video creators and streamers stopped covering the game.
FFXIV and WoW are both established.
That is the challenge for a new mmo, to build a playerbase and feeling of community that is not at the whim of Streamers. I don't know who they will do it as it's what every single multiplayer game releasing seems to do not just mmo's. Which they all benefit and then suffer greatly when that audience is there and then gone because of the Streamer and audience FOMO. (fear of missing out they go play the new game)
Funny how that works out for something like Blue Protocol. Ban all the americans because of the deal with Amazon, so streamers already grew adverse to it, and then triple down on doing the absolute bare minimum possible (aka next to nothing but monetization) resulting in a game that is already dead in the water.
>and then you have riot's mmo. stuck in dev hell, ghostcrawler jumped ship, and the leads are nothing but troons
What? I've heard nothing about this. Can someone give me a rundown since I had a flimsy hope and prayer on this MMO being actually worth something when it finally comes out in 2033.
>be in London in time for fanfest tomorrow
Jesus Christ there's a lot more drugged up zombies walking around than 10 years ago, or am I remembering it wrong?
XVI straight up didn't sell as well as they wanted, but they were quick to realize that PS5 exclusivity was the problem and the game made back its development budget. Meanwhile XIV is simply not making as much profit as normal because COVID is "over", so people aren't shacking up to play the game for months on end anymore.
The lockdown profit wasn't normal though, it was a huge spike they knew couldn't last because people would either be forced back to work or run out of money
I mean fair enough for that phrasing sure, but with shareholders and execs, any decline would be considered a problem at all instead of seeing the bigger picture.
It's true, but YoshiP will keep his head because his superiors know his strength is MMOs and not real games. His team is never escaping the MMO mines after 16 tho.
not really. they had a bad earnings report because they are still eating the losses from Forspoken and First Soldier. XVI was a bright spot but not as bright as it could have been and not enough to overcome everything else. CEO wants to reorient into safer AAA shots instead of all the AA and mobile crap that's been flopping the last couple of years.

>the Twelve have always been utterly useless and absent, their only point of relevance in the setting being that certain characters believe in them and have religious customs based on their worship >any and all tales of their actions date back not to any known period of history but to some prehistoric mythic age >an age that by ShB we know doesn't truly exist, the world of the Ancients came before, and then civilisation was fragmented across the Shards with the people's memories of the past nearly completely wiped, and then it was business as usual (the first astral era and on are not really PREhistory when the general populace has awareness of history being divided into astral and umbral eras, and up until the death of the final Paragons there were technically living souls who had lived through it all) >phantom Amaurot and Elpis give us enough of a glimpse of Ancient culture to tell us that they had a concept of divinity (Athena wanted to become one) but didn't worship the Twelve >okay so the Twelve aren't real, or they're completely useless creations of the Ancients, that's fine >new Alliance series tells us they are real, actually (made by Hydaelyn) >okay cool, now what? >lol they want to die
I was a Eureka hater until 6.0. I forced myself to go through it for the glam but it ended up being some of my favorite content. If that shit gave exp I would have probably kept playing the game, at least for a while.
Will I like Eureka if I enjoy levelling in Vanilla wow?
One of the things I don't like in FFXIV is how the overworld is basically an interactive loading screen. You are never in any danger and you never have to think about what you are doing.
>Will I like Eureka if I enjoy levelling in Vanilla wow?
No. Eureka levelling quickly turns into "Go in once a week to clear my challenge log since it's the only thing to give expanymore".
Eureka might seem overwhelming at first, loading you with information but don't worry we all felt that at first, just take it easy, do read and if you struggle get stuck just ask people in shout chat/ piss chat, Eureka is always populated.
I think you will like it
The only downside is your job kit being lvl 70
No, wow is even easier
>Will I like Eureka if I enjoy levelling in Vanilla wow?
No. Eureka levelling quickly turns into "Go in once a week to clear my challenge log since it's the only thing to give expanymore".
I think I'll give Eureka a try when I come back to the game, at least to get a relic for my RDM. Thanks guys.
How the frick do I really properly approach Eureka and Bozja at this point? I want something more than just roulette runs but they're nigh-unapproachable without discord/FC groups and guides on hand.
I'm just asking, any time frame on the release? I know it's limited edition, like the DragonQuest and FFXV collab/ crossover rather than the MonsterHunter crossover.
Island Sanctuary is the worst content they've ever added to this game. I don't count relic weapons being just a tomestone grind since that isn't even content.
Watched the vid. It was alright. I've seen people on /vg/ complain about these topics during the past years. As a story skipper, the guy will never be able to enjoy mid core content (which the game still lacks at least in post EW, let's be honest) so it only makes sense for him to get bored of the hard content. He did complain about fights reusing the same mechanics over and over which is a problem fight designers will eventually bump into. I think the safest bet would be slowly trying new things so to not make a fight a complete shitshow but I guess that's not enough for some people. Finally a good point he made was that dumbing down the game won't make casual player play hard content but is that really the reason why the rotations are being simplified? I also think more jobs should have peculiar actions that might make fights more interesting (ex PLD's cover). At the end of the day he isn't happy about the state of the hardcore content and he think this will be the downfall of the game when new players will become veterans which is kind of in contrast with his point that dumbing down the game won't make casuals play hard content
This was xeems point as well, jobs were simplified to make balance easier
In return, boss mechanics get harder and more interesting though if you want to be reductive you can still say it’s all STAND AND LET THING RESOLVE (lol)
>guy who doesn't play the game reacted to the guy who stopped playing in ShB
Now that's a chain of interesting and important opinions I really care about. MoistShitical should react to assmong's reaction too! And don't forget to ask that one pajeet as well I'm sure he has something to say too!
These content creators really have a lot to answer for, not talking just this game but if they're putting out these videos that are poorly researched, especially Asmon guys like him know their audience is very young and purposely misleading them for his own gain. Then he complains why the younger/ always online generation are so dumb these days.
I can't be the only one who sees these largest Streamers/ Youtubers who have such a huge influence completely washing their hands of all responsibility in the accuracy of what they pump out.
How is that better than mainstream news outlets guys like him laugh at? They're one and the same.
>Is that a lot of content?
Up to Stormblood, yeah that's quite a bit. Free Trial limits mean no PvP, Retainers or Market Board, but you generally get a good taste of what the game is all about by Stormblood. >Is it solo friendly?
You can do most of the main content by yourself now with AI partners, though trial boss fights still require other players. It's the big thing they just finished wrapping up, trials may be on the way in the future too. >Do I have to play the Playstation games to understand what the frick is going on?
Every single numbered entry in this franchise is standalone, you can ignore any other games. 14, however, IS filled with plenty of franchise references and homages, including recreating plot beats, characters, bosses and other stuff, so knowing the series gets more out of it for you, but you don't actually need to. About the most confusing things might be the Ivalice raids because they pretty strongly presume you know the gist of Tactics' plot.
>Is that a lot of content?
Base game + 2 expansions, playing normally and just the story is like 3 games in one. And if you want to do a lot of the optional content... well, let's just say I finished the free trial and started paying the sub around 2k hours in, but that's if you are a massive autist. > Is it solo friendly?
The most solo friendly MMO you will get, a lot of the MSQ can be done solo minus the 8-man trials and the 3 24-man Alliance raids that were made mandatory a while ago, and even those could be changed to be solo'd in the future if the devs decide it's a good idea like they did with mandatory dungeons. >Do I have to play the Playstation games to understand what the frick is going on?
No, each FF game is unique and you don't need to play any other game.

WoW embraced addons, and it was for the game and the player's benefit. There's no reason to not -- every game that embraced third-party modding & addons, from every genre -- MMORPG, FPS, RPG, racing, strategy -- has had unbounded success and continued fan support. Arguably being able to mod your game, or alter UI elements and make it do new things entirely, is a force multiplier for games.
So, why are FFXIV devs so "like this" with their game? It has to be a Japanese misunderstanding, fundamentally, of what's happening, right? They think it's cheating -- when it isn't. I know it's because they can't support addons for consoletards which is 90+% of the JP market
No I'm not. I didn't say that. If you read that and that's what you came away with, you're insecure as frick. Hiding your reply. I don't like you. You produce nothing worth reading.
in what way? the potencies aren't definite but it made sense to give CNJ/WHM a water spell which provides low-level AoE and provides some utility at all levels.
I've built up and scrapped at least 20 reworks to different jobs (mostly healers) over the years. Eventually I just accepted that it will never get better and SE just refuses to use what they have.
So are you imagining these as spells or abilities? Cast 1 (singletarget low power spell) to upgrade the next cast to 2 (AoE high power spell, with a debuffing effect at high levels?)
Alright wrap the thread up guys, the homosexual attention prostitutes from /xivg/ finally found the thread and are posting their generic copy pasted "OC's" for attention.
Well, microsoft and SE are now openly collaborating with the upcoming xbox release. So yoshida's dream blizzard crossovers are getting closer and closer to reality already.
Good evening everyone I wish eternal pain and suffering to whoever thought LNC would be fun to play whenever my DRG gets synced down to low level content.

Painfully accurate, just look at this thread for example.
it was gshade, some dude's "personal version" of reshade that accumulated a large community around it. then some 16 year old thought it was filled with bloat, created a way to take most of gshade's shit and put it on regular reshade, and the creator of gshade flipped out, put in malware that prevented alteration and tried to detect for if anything would swipe or interfere with it, and took a personal crusade against the guy who pissed him off.
Remember gshade? It happened once and can happen again. darkarchon is an unhinged schizophrenic who absolutely despises the majority of people who use Mare. I give him one more breakdown over modding drama before he forcefully injects a virus into the code just to "punish" people.
>waiting to happen
It's already happened, several times. Pretty sure mare doesn't support public channels for this reason. (might be wrong on that, been a while since I've talked to any modbeasts)
no. hasn't happened. and "public channels are actually a thing, since there are syncshells that share their password online on a website, meaning anyone can join. The most people can do is do an animation that requires IVCS without IVCS to force crash people's games. Not sure if that's still possible, probably is. Keep in mind that there are ways to figure out who's crashing, so if you do shit like this in a public syncshell they'll just boot your ass off the syncshell
I've been thinking this for a while. I play completely vanilla so I don't know how it's implemented exactly, but making a system that allows you to distribute your mods to others sounds like you could very easily delete all their gear and shit for fun
your gear, character data and everything is stored on the server to the account, so you can't afflict anyone maliciously in that sort of way. but Mare does let you straight up download all of someone's Penumbra mods they have going -- including any paid mods they idiotically are running with Mare active, and any weird fricking shit that could potentially get slipped into mods. you have to get someone's Mare code to actually see and get their upload but it's one walking breach of service that is waiting for an incident, especially with how many morons openly post their Mare codes in their adventurer plates.
Don't listen to what other people say, they're just trying to frick with you. Other people will be able to see it. Don't use mods outside of private instances or you'll get reported and banned.
Why do the people that want a hardcore grinding and raiding MMO play FF? Over the years it's NOT been than and if anything, moving away from that. Meanwhile THE hardcore grinding and raiding and dungeon crawling MMO Wildstar literally died from not having enough players.
I just want an MMO that plays like an MMO that warrants the subscription fee. Not a town-afk simulator with 4-8 player content that I can get in any b2p/f2p game.
I mean, there were some, and they died, like Wildstar. Either the "hardcore MMOgays" need to find a game to keep alive or do something. This is like how Dark Souls is where a few thousand griefers claim to keep them game alive and not the tens to hundreds of thousands of casual players that are the content for their griefing.
The issue is that it's financially idiotic for a company to do that.
You only need to sell people on a subscription fee for the first couple years of the game's life while you cultivate a fanatical playerbase. After that you just have to do the bare minimum to keep them stringing along.
>After that you just have to do the bare minimum to keep them stringing along.
The problem I have with this is I don't feel the passion from the devs at all ever since Stormblood. The only dev that seems to actively hate the playerbase with passion is the current Ultimate planner.
I just want an MMO that plays like an MMO that warrants the subscription fee. Not a town-afk simulator with 4-8 player content that I can get in any b2p/f2p game.
Where did I say I wanted a grind simulator? I just want an MMO where the MMO portion is represented. Only time you see 30+ players at once in ARR is during S-Rank punching bags, and people who afk in Eureka style content until someone else spawns the FATE which is scaled content and could otherwise be solo'd.
xiv is too big to fail at this point
dawntrail and the next xpac needs to be shit so the game starts actually declining
what you see, the whole regurgitated reaction train is a product of "shitting on this is popular now", why? cause the only mmo making new nowadays is xiv, with the fanfest incoming, patch release and dawntrail hype
wow is so fricking dead contentwise, shitting on it isn't even profitable
>Raids too easy now and lack creativity >Cross job skill good >Attribute allocation good >Maiden of Vigilance jumping good. >Newbs need hard jobs. >Hasn't played in four years. >Story worthless >I NEED to log in every day for hours.
What a bitter fruit trying to get on the EW suck train.
i don't need a youtuber to tell me that cheating is a huge problem in this dead game
i don't need a youtuber to tell me that playing with 200 ms artificial ping is good
i don't need a youtuber to tell me 4 hours of content every 4 months for 14 dolaridoos is a good deal
Worse, ecelebs who don't even play the game have opinion on game and parts of the game they have no experience of.
It's become that bottom barrel, that's the scraps which people who hate this game are clinging to.
>eceleb says FFXIV good

have a nice day, who cares what some Youtuber says anyways? Just play what you enjoy and anyways FFXIV is doing extremely well because...
I'm glad it's fine to shit on the WOWtuber grifters again. I don't even care about WoW, I mean, FF XIV itself is heavily inspired by it, and I'm have like a billion hours in WCIII so Warcraft has a special place in my heart. I hate both the WOWtubers and the XIVtubers.
Every zone has its own music.
Every map has its own monsters and drops, with something good to obtain.
There are no spawn zones, monsters spawn and roam freely. No "mobs run back home if they chase you too far".
It's not a time wasting maze, it's an organic multi level dungeon that's 100% content, no quests.
I mean, MMOs have dungeons because RPGs had dungeons. There's nothing intrinsically MMO-like about the existence of dungeons.
If we're looking at MMOs more holistically as 'simulated virtual worlds' then it doesn't make much sense for dungeons to exist at all, because there's not really anything like an RPG dungeon in our world.
>If we're looking at MMOs more holistically as 'simulated virtual worlds' then it doesn't make much sense for dungeons to exist at all, because there's not really anything like an RPG dungeon in our world.
There also isn't magic, dragons and trolls in our world you goddamn moron. What kind of post is this?
They were a part of the world for you to explore. Couldn't spam them even if you wanted to, since they weren't instanced and other players might've cleared it out before you arrived
Back then dungeons themselves were areas you came and went from instead of one-and-done theme park rides. Imagine any dungeon from a classic RPG game where you could be stuck there wandering around until you found the exit, or were looking for drops inside from specific mobs or a boss enemy that only spawns there, etc, and then imagine other players could run around in there at the same time instead of "only" your party. Hell, loot drama was partly a thing because there'd be people ready to poach a boss or rare fight.
Great question. Now if only MMO devs would stop and ask themselves this and similar questions maybe we'd get something decent instead of endlessly recycling shit mechanics and ideas from thirty years ago.
I do wish the older MMOs (hell even modern ones) involved more of the third dimension when it came to area design. Most you'd get at best is like you see there where the second/third/etc floor is its own zone.
Some RO maps actually have a lot going on with elevation, you just don't see it much because of the way the camera works. Unfortunately, RO's engine cannot handle the Z axis so you cannot have truly multi layered maps.
Purely aesthetic. Mind you, this game was designed to run smoothly on old 90s computers but still manages to be beautiful regardless.
There are only a few types of tiles in this game. >normal walkable tiles >water tiles, in which certain skills can be used, such as Water Ball and Aqua Benedicta >non-walkable tiles, which could be walls or even the dark areas of the map >snipable tiles, which are not walkable but you can shoot across them
Elevation in this game, depending on the map, is treated as a snipable tile. Meaning you can shoot down or up over a ledge. You can see a lot of this on the early Payon Forest and Sograt Desert maps, WoE maps and such.
2 is enough honestly.
My entire static was exhausted from non-stop raiding after clearing TOP. We didn’t even bother with the third savage tier. I think it would be better if the second Ultimate released in x.5 instead.
>I think it would be better if the second Ultimate released in x.5 instead.
Would be nice, since that's typically the point where the jobs are fine-tuned the most to be within 3% of each other, especially after recent Ults started having actual DPS checks for once.
How about x.5 being a mini ultimate that adapts like a trial series or something
only 15 minutes instead of 20, end game savage tier difficulty instead of ultimate level, have the rewards be the same as regular ultimate tho
Could be good, less work while still keeping engagement and good way to get people into ultimate
Whatever they do, having hard content to do during the pre-expansion break would be cool, so we wouldn’t have to stress about clearing before the next patch drops.
That's exactly why DSR was originally set to release in 5.5, but because of the chink coof they will NEVER put an ultimate in X.51 EVER. You WILL burn yourself out by X.3.
they're intense to design and done by a low percentage of the playerbase. they might be the most important content in the game to hardcore players but they are not the dev team's priority. maybe if they got more resources it could happen, but yoshi-p runs a tight ship, that's why he's so successful.
also 3 ults would probably make raiders burn out lol. dsr to abyssos to top was bleak
The only thing I really feel like ffxiv is doing badly that wasnt there since 2.0 is classes becoming too homogenous. There was never a tonne of diversity between them but there was at least distinctions in how they played, where as now it feels like a roles are just different coats of paint more or less. I can live with it though because basically ever other element of the game is fantastic still.
Story size I liked SB just a bit more than EW. I actually really liked the void arc, and dawntrail looks to be the exact reduced stakes / new adventure I was hoping for.
Fights, music, art is all still absolute top tier.
So I'm coping pretty good I'd say.
Alright lads, I'm off to play some Cyberpunk it's pissing down with rain here in merry ole England and I want to have a fresh mind for the morning of Fanfest, for the next two-three days dedicated to Fanfest and FFXIV.
So you lads in London.
I am eternally disappointed that we didn't get a single (female) Goddess to grow to a gigantic size during this raid. Even just one instance to spurn the asiatics into drawing FOTM giantess art would have been nice. What a complete and total disappointment this Alliance Raid has been.
How are you liking the revamped systems? Melee builds are ridiculously fun to play now (especially katana), same with Sandevistan builds. Fully Body is fun too, you can pop enemies heads like grapes.
anons, can you suggest a super hot biofem streamer I can donobomb to say my name as I jerk off to while watching her playing with her female character, fantasizing that I'm banging them both?
They should rotate between unreals every month, alternating between ex trials and savage raids each time. There's legitimately no reason for it to take as long as it does other than >lol patch cycle, it takes 0 effort to put one out. It's just changing numbers.
You'll still have to find 23 other people willing to do it. It would be great if they added mechanics instead of unnerfing it. Probably both ides would be great. Max level cap + new mechanics
partying because according to him ff16 lost and yoshitpiss on suicidewatch and probably paid some hobo to dress up as ignis or noctis and have sex with him
Poor Barry
how we're gonna go on with those final fantasy threads without him?
partying because according to him ff16 lost and yoshitpiss on suicidewatch and probably paid some hobo to dress up as ignis or noctis and have sex with him
>What's your favorite Soken song?
He has been posting with that formula for a while. Can't say if he's stupid or just wants the mods to do the nth cleanup of xiv spam
>What's your favorite Soken song?
He has been posting with that formula for a while. Can't say if he's stupid or just wants the mods to do the nth cleanup of xiv spam
No, this was around when people were getting banned for streaming with dps meters visible. There was a huge disingenuous shitstorm about "uhhh is a calculator a 3rd party tool then? is discord a 3rd party tool?" so he brought this up to tell people to stop being moronic because they know exactly what it means and if they keep being Black folk then a banwave would happen (it got worse and a banwave never actually happened so as usual yoshida lied)
and matchmaking is a hooker
one and done, no thoughts, no conversation to be had, you do your shit, shoot your load all over the dungeon and you're out
Yes. Yoshi-P himself said that they make dungeons linear snoozefest because players would just optimise the fastest path and shit on players who do anything else. The irony is that it is all a self-made problem
parsing trannies on suicide watch
I remember during the "WOW IS SO DEAD FFXIV IS THE BESTEST MMO EVER!!!" shitposting psyop years ago, the ffxiv trannies would always say they didn't need mods or third party tools to play. Fast forward to today and they will literally send death threats to third party tool devs on discord and X formerly known as twitter if they don't update their tools 3 hours after a new patch. These homies can't play without it. My entire friends list was also barren until Dalamund and Mare was also updated to work 3-4 days after the most recent patch which also goes to show this game is now just Second Life and those same homies can't play without their mods that give them giant horse wieners and planet sized breasts.
wasn't that a year ago?
It was before Endwalker launched. So over 2 years ago now. Which makes it funnier since EW is the shittiest expansion.
>EW is the shittiest expansion.
According to whom exactly?
I been playing from 2.0 and liked the expansion just wish we had something like bozja but it isn’t too bad as people like to say it is.
>it factually has less content [...] than any expansion previously
you guys keep saying this but nobody proves it by comparing the amount of content with EW
>not one mention of the ultimates
yeah i thought so, the only people complaining about EW are shitters that don't do content. There's a reason losing casual slop like eureka/bozja triggers them so much.
>you don't get to complain about content because you aren't willing to spend 200 hours wiping on one raid with 7 people you hate
Content which less than 1% of people want to invest a considerable amount of time in or can't due to not being NEETs/college kids with an open schedule. You're clearly missing the point.
>NEETs/college kids with an open schedule
But those are the target audience of MMOs
Why are you complaining about a game that isn't meant for you
>But those are the target audience of MMOs
Lol. No it isn't. Certainly not FFXIV. Stop embarrassing yourself.
NTA, but they WERE the target audience for MMOs, that isn't the case anymore
Doesn't matter, it's there to be aspirational content that sets the standard everything else looks up to. It's like asking why pvp has a ranked mode when 99% of players just play casual. Or why your country has a downtown and central business district if you only leave your suburban house to visit walmart.
If you don't do the hard stuff, your job is to keep your head down and be glad that it exists to be a shining example.
Nobody cares though lol. Just add in content that people want to fricking do. The majority always wins and we want another Bozja :3
>Bozja
lol, lmao even, you expedition trannies are completely delusional, the reason there is no Bozja is because the vast majority of the playerbase hates it.
>the reason there is no Bozja is because the vast majority of the playerbase hates it.
Actually it's because the devs are lazy Black folk as this expansion has proven. You are factually incorrect however since feedback has been overall positive regarding Bozja. People actually care about it. Unlike Ultimate Raids.
:3
>feedback has been overall positive regarding Bozja
>except the part where JP hated bozja so much that they cut story short and kicked matsuno out
>except the part where westoids hated bozja so much that they cried nonstop about how shit it is.
stop rewriting history homosexual. Bozja was hates by large enough group of people for devs to get rid of it.
I bet you cried like a redditor too because it made you grind DR or POTD for last relic step
Not reading all of that. Black person asiatics and forum Black folk are a fraction of the overall population. Fact is most people did enjoy it and still go back to do Bozja. Unlike Ultimate Raids which nobody cares about. Your glowy weapon is worthless. Sorry not sorry!
>:3
Omega weapon is the only good ultimate weapon, hope they keep up this design trend, me like the shiny giant particle effects
Ultimate gays should've been kicked out back in ShB when they b***hed about second ultimate being cancelled.
but you are still wrong about bozja like a moronic cat that you are.
Why do nips struggle so much to draw forks? I'm sure even they have seen one in real life before.
>because the vast majority of the playerbase hates it
I don't understand why they can't just give Bozja it's own "permanent equipment and skill" system, why is everything consumables? I have 0 fun in Bozja because it hurts me to use consumables so I just did the campaign and left.
Flexibility, balance, ease of use, and an upgrade to rewards is why it’s consumables.
It would be way more annoying if I had to go and “attune” my tank gear to one of the essence such as irregular, martialist or indomitable then just having the actions in my chest. It also lets you swap mid content rather than outside only. If you had some permanent essence shifter it would be stupid. As an added bonus, you can sell the essences you do not need.
None of that sounds like a positive to me so I'll just continue never touching Bozja again. I want the cosmetics but I'm not dealing with the mechanics.
>not having to go to some clunky respec NPC every time you want to change lost actions/essence is a negative
Please stay away from bozja
you already have to do that doe
You have to go to your chest which is available in all the content. No way they would let people respec in something like DR
>not having to go to some clunky NPC
But that's already Bozja gameplay
>One fight composed of reused bosses with added mechanics is great content (the mechanics are a convoluted version of the "don't stand in the spot" that you have seen a thousand times, but if one person fails everyone dies and it happens every 15 seconds).
>eureka/bozja, original and expansive content that actually changes the way you play and makes the game feel like an MMO is slop
>You didn't do the shit raids that only 2% of the playerbase bother with so you clearly don't play the game enough
>Oh you did the raids? No wonder you're bored you fricking poopsocker, unsubscribe and take a break
You can't win in a discussion about this game, even when directly comparing Stormblood's content feast to Endslopper.
what feast? isn't it just eureka and some extra dungeons nobody cares about
Eureka (4 maps)
Baldesion Arsenal raid
An actual relic weapon grind
More dungeons
Doman Restoration
Manderville Quests
Rival Wings
Squadrons
Gold Saucer
Same amount of trials and raids
Same amount of ultimates
Same amount of deep dungeons
You're arguing with the other extreme sect of cultists. The ultimate raiders. They are so mindbroken by this game that they will do anything to justify their wasted time for glowy weapons which nobody gives a shit about, so they will instead cope and put themselves on a pedestal to feel better about themselves.
>most people even liked eureka when it came out
Good one anonymous
>citing Heavensward as an example of a lot of content
Only thing 3.0 has over 6.0 is more dungeons per patch, but that's no real difference in content. It had PotD & Diadem as its sole optional content, but the latter was a fricking underdeveloped trainwreck.
The only people who need mods are narcissistic homosexuals and 3rd world monkeys.
Pacing issues, forced emotional scenes, sacrificing the main lore.
Frick you buddy I like my crutch telling me if the other melee's Feint is on CD
Frick you friend lrn2play
Get out of your safety bubble. A lot of people quit after Endwalker by the numbers.
Because it's the end of a major storyline
I think they might be able to salvage things in DT if Yoship actually takes a look at what works for other games and considers making a more balanced experience, I know plenty of people who just don't wanna do the criterion or deep dungeon content since it just scares them, and I know plenty of high end raiders who refuse to even do anything but raidlog anymore, if they found a good balance to incentivize both ends to have fun together it would probably be for the best.
you mean the wowBlack folk who joined when bald goblin tried the game cant live without mods
xivhomosexuals dont even play content, they just jerk off nonstop to their erp wife
>xivhomosexuals dont even play content, they just jerk off nonstop to their erp wife
The dude who made Mare should get hired by Squeenix because that troony single-handedly must have boosted their profit margins by 400% since all the erpBlack folk can't live without it.
I played Second Life a lot and everyone I knew from that game gradually hopped over to FFXIV when Mare and the modbeast scene really going rolling.
If Mare were to go kaput and people had to go back to erping in rags on their default, ugly models like in ancient times I think they'd all drop the game in a heartbeat.
they should regardless but until something moronic enough happens to embarrass SE(and even then probably if it only happens in japan) then nothing will
Why would they ever crack down on mods if their sole existence brings in thousands of paying customers.
To be fair, planet sized breasts should just be a basic feature of every game.
to be fair, when your game's being run by trannies the only choice left is to move ship, like whenever I see videos of wow devs, they constantly have rainbow flags and tr00ns in them, shit's embarrassing
Why are XIV threads so bad?
>this game is now just second life
pretty much yeah and i fricking hate it. as if the community wasnt bad enough. before there was still hope to run into some cool people but now ive completely given up on any social aspect of the game because its just filled to the brim with furries, homosexuals, trannies, and mareBlack folk. i want to quit but i know i wont be able to resist playing through the new expansion and doing savage, although its weird to think about how it'll be the first time i go through an expansion completely alone
The only people who needed mods and addons are the wow community who can't function without DBM telling them what to do. They came into FF and hit a wall of why can't I do this trial and caused this.
>people have been using addons in FF14 for years
>no one ever really bats an eye about it
>suddenly a massive influx of WoW refugees start playing the game during EW
>cry that there's no good mods or that they're too hard to install
>cry that they have to learn the raids instead of having some sort of mod to tell them everything to do
>find out that there is a (fairly obsucre at the time) raid helper add on
>immediately start using it and telling others in party they group with that they need to be using it too
>ex-wow streamers playing FF14 start using it as well
>SquareEnix says knock it off or all mods are gone
>the wow refugees flip a lid and start sending death threats
This is because some third party tools are just cheats.
Are you incapable of reading?
I'll make a tldr for you since you can't read either
>We homogenized the classes despite hardcore players complaining about homogenization because midcore players begged for homogenization unlike casuals who don't engage with raids
>Although hardcore players make up the majority of those who complain about how FF14's combat has become homogenized over the years, there is a significant portion of players, who we can consider as intermediates, who may not dedicate themselves to the more difficult encounters as diligently, but who do want to challenge themselves to overcome the game's most difficult fights and engage more frequently with the combat system than others who really stick more to the non-combat options offered by the MMO.
>combat has become homogenized over the years, there is a significant portion of players, who we can consider as intermediates, who may not dedicate themselves to the more difficult encounters as diligently,
>mediocre players
Hold up. Is Yoshida saying MIDCORE players are why the game is getting easier? The same people who insist they have no content?
Criterion dungeons should have been the midcore content. All they had to do was model it off of mythic dungeons in WoW and call it a day.
XIV doesn't have enough gear scaling to make M+ work.
And no one wants to do criterion simply because the rewards are shit.
homie just have gear 5-10 ilvls below savage gear with random substats
And that's the fundamental problem with the game. It's so fricking archaic and set in its ways that they can't MAKE it work. Or they won't try to. Imagine dungeons which aren't dogshit and provide an ever changing challenge. And I MEAN challenge? That would be great. Change it up every month or so. Keep shit fresh. But nah they won't. There is a lack of midcore content in this game and the lack of a Eureka/Bozja certainly didn't help with that.
They just want more people doing harder content, but honestly I believe that they are full of bullshit and just want to make balancing job easier for themselves.
>EW Jobs is the worst so far
>Yoshi still had to come out and apologize for not getting the balance right anyway
I agree, last time savage fights were this badly balanced was in HW.
And back then for Gordias it was "MNK doesn't bring raidbuffs so don't apply unless you got gear drops and even then still don't apply we only want trick and litany". The devs didn't really have an idea of splitting savage and normal on their first attempt, but no excuse for poor testing three expansions later.
Savage IS Midcore in Japan, this tier has been cleared by 35% of people in JP who did normal mode, and for 9S that percentage is a lot higher.
That's cool but not everyone who plays this game is a bug-eyed asiatic. Add in more to do than the same old tired square arena raids every 5 months.
Japanese game, don't like it go play New World
t. 20 year old mutt who first played the game in 5.5 and thinks Yoshi-P is gods gift to gaming
I progged Midas and Creator on Paladin, shut thy mouth.
I have no idea what the frick midcore even means anymore. bozja is midcore but also savage is midcore?? where did people even get this idea that bozja wasn't normal content? the only hard parts were DRS and duels which were completely optional. who even are midcore players?
Midcore is something casuals delude themselves into being because they don't want to be called casuals.
it usually means "I want content I can spam that's less mindless than roulettes, but also I don't want to prog or be accountable to other players"
It means I want content comparable to the CE's from Bozja.
Bozja was normal content not some special category they don't make anymore. It barely got harder than alliance raids. Actually it's spot on for Eureka Orthos and Variant bosses.
I WISH Andrammalech was the status quo for alliance raids. At least the fire/earth combo, people always ate shit during that one.
variant/criterion rewards being shit was the biggest mistake of this entire expac. tie relics to variant and give criterion savage gear/upgrade mats and everyone shuts up
Nobody wants to spam Variants. They're the perfect one-and-done content, but tying exclusive rewards to spamming it is a huge mistake.
Also nobody would do savage criterion for gear upgrades because that shit is harder than savage raids
>It barely got harder than alliance raids
Bro the red chocobo is harder than ANYTHING in alliance raids. The fact that the CE's have numerous instant kill mechanics that will one shot everyone but tanks (who instead nearly die) already puts it a step above AR's. I still see entire groups get wiped by them. AR's are snoozefests.
Now CE's are hardly uber difficult savage tier but they're a huge step up from roulette sleepwalking.
>ywn get so good at a game that you literally force the devs to cater to your tastes exclusively
game fell of hard and i very much doubt that their engine allows them to do anything exciting
/beesknees at some homosexual in-game club and call it socialising?
endwalker was a good spot to just stop playing
all the plot lines were wrapped up
no reason to come back for the story and keep playing
post expansion quests were shit anyway
>calling endwalker a veritable disappointment
>still subbed to FISH of all the most inane homosexual reasons to stay subbed
jesus
I never said I was smart. But I am perma-subbed to keep my house in-game. It's pocket change to me and I like to fish because I fish IRL.
why do people care so much about their houses anyway? The vast majority of you don't even use them as intended i.e for decorating it with stuff. You literally only want it because its rare and limited which is as soulless a reason as it gets to want something.
>standard post expac falloff still above shb numbers
>it's kind of over
No, you don't get it bro green is the number of people quitting ziv has only 10k active players left
NO THE GAME IS DYING, it’s always funny people saying the game is dying when I see spouts all the time
homie thinks that erp alts over on NA are actual new players lmao. Bet you think that awhehuhu ckhwhhdj the BLM middie is a player too.
>its kind of over
meh the mmo playerbase as a whole is one drought and a meme infested shit blizzcon away from having eyeballs towards other games in 2024. Does that mean 7.0 is gonna be good? frick no, but people will probably flock to it and my server will have a moronic que time and 30 minute log out.
Why is this lame ass shit going for over 2 million gil on the marketboard?
Jesus christ acquire taste you fricking knuckle dragging idiots
t. poorgay
>2 million gil
Literally 1 hour of work
Also, it's expensive because it's new and semi rare it will cost 50k in 2 months
It should only cost 50k now, it's a really boring outfit.
The fact that anyone is willing to pay that much for it is insane imo
Don’t ask questions and just sell it unless you wanted to buy it yourself and mad it costs so much.
>2 million gil
That's pocket change though
Also every new treasure maps item is expensive for a while.
Have any of the treasure map items been even good this expansion? Last expansion we had a shitload of god tier outfits, now square gives us actual garbage and puts the good stuff on the store.
I think the Happiness set and the Salon Server sets were cool, but the other's have been lame
Happiness set is probably the only one I liked, but not enough to actively go for it or buy it from the MB.
Map glamour was overall weak this expansion.
The sleeveless top combines well with many other popular pieces, you have to expand your mind instead of being a full set gay
You could do a Yujiro cosplay as a Highlander/Roe now
I cleared the 3 latest Ultimates on-patch (except TEA) with a decent, not uberprogamer static without ever using mods or plug-ins, not even ACT.
This is the first thread I have ever seen where xiv players sound like gamers and not trannies
All they need to do to make xiv optional dungeons good is copy lotro skirmishes, i.e. a shit ton of randomness
>random bosses
>random minibosses
>different trash mob composition each time
>random (and very incentivised) optional objectives
>calling new players erp alts
Wonder what level of cope is this
>the story and world have gone to absolute dogshit
>'ok, Myths of the Realm and Pandemonium make up for it, and the island sanctuary and variant dungeon'
>variant dungeons end up being dogshit
>island ends up being loathsome garbage
>they kill the Twelve
>Panda boils down to "DUDE ANCIENTER ALIENS"
>the story and world have gone to absolute dogshit
>implying the story was ever good to anyone that read a fricking book before
if you think the story has any redeemable qualities at any point in time youre underage, moronic, or both.
the fact that the entire game was made to fit the dogshit story is laughably pathetic.
pandaemonium was great
I can't take seriously anyone who complains about variant/criterion. This is the best content we had in a long time.
We're getting a third one next week.
Fricking sick dood. Can't wait to clear Criterion within a week and have no reason to go back in dood.
*buys the mount*
Maybe if the titles were good I'd bother but Infamy of Sildh and Ascetic Aesthetic are kinda cringe.
>Pint quit FFXIV after getting paid by miHoYo to shill for Genshin
>Hasn't streamed anything, let alone XIV, since NA fanfest
>His newest video, a blatant Genshin shilling video, has only 62k views in 2 days. TWO DAYS.
>His last video, 3 months ago about FFXIV, has nearly 700k views
>Currently being groomed by trannies on twitter, they joke about "cracking" his egg, even met up with F1nnst5r at Twitchcon a few months ago
>F1nnst5r is another crossdressing obvious troony-in-denial (or victim of blackmail take your pick) who was very recently outted as being directly or indirectly connected to a pedophile group
Unironically what's next for Pint's career now that the ffxiv curse has come from him finally like every other grifter?
Who gives a frick about an obnoxious and unfunny attention seeking troony? Frick off with this shit.
>Unironically what's next for Pint's career
>Starts speedrunning
>Gets completely BTFO
>Troons out
Cosmo 2.0
hopefully a shotgun to the head
Yes, please move on to Genshin like Zepla did.
But Genshin players have been making the exact same videos as XIVgays. "The game is dead because the endgame content isn't expanded on"
is genshin worth playing
Not at all. Enjoy never getting the characters you want until they're on a rerun years from now and you'll have to cough up real money anyways to make them useful.
is the story mode at least good?
Uhmmmmmmmmm. I mean it's fine I suppose, nothing spectacular. It's not really until Inazuma that it gets properly enjoyable. Kinda generic until then.
Yes if you like exploration
Asmon is the epitome of shit taste
whatever he says, just do the opposite
Still thanks I needed something to watch while playing
He doesn't even fricking play the game and didn't get past SB back when he played in ShB, the frick could he possibly have to add.
Nothing of value, but it’s not like his millions of viewers will not watch his video and adopt his opinion blindly anyway.
FFXIV frogs getting farmed on twitch will never cease to amaze me.
And WoW frogs are the same.
Can we go back to XIVandy? I like that one more.
Bros you have to actually stop chatting about FFXIV in Asmongold's channel, you're embarrassing us all
>all the doomers just downloaded their opinions from youtube
I can't dude. this is getting so stupid
why are all MMOs so completely riddled with aids?
would it kill someone to make an mmo with reasonable progression time? why is it just an accepted thing that playing an mmo means signing your life away to a boring pointless gear treadmill?
Have you been in any mmo thread? Don’t give them an endless treadmill like EW did and everyone whines about ‘no content’
>Zeev
>Gear Treadmill
You have never played the game. You can literally enter the latest raid day 1 with gear you craft.
Give me an example of a reasonable progression time
Guild Wars 2 unironically has what you want then, outside of certain stat combo gear sets that maybe might be used that new expansions have, the gear you have at level 80 as long as you have Ascended tier and have the right stats, will never really need a bis change ever again.
Ok, but why post about WoW in a XIV thread?
Main reason why some other MMO players hate XIV is because there's no gear grind.
XIV has no gear treadmill though and it takes maybe 1-2 days after hitting max level to be fully geared for raid.
Or 30 seconds if you have a friend that can spare 2-3 million gil (even poorest poorgays can do that).
I can tell that all you do in this game is erp.
That's not exclusive to XIV...
See? I could tell. You post on Ganker, you play an aids riddled coomer game and posted a suggestive anime catgirl. 90% chance you were a sweaty erptard. I fricking love being right.
Prove that the post you're replying to is not telling the truth
But what if I run out of pots doe
Ironically, it's also much harder to gear up a second job in XIV compared to other mmos. Well, harder isn't the right word, but the game isn't friendly about you getting BiS on multiple jobs, which is why the mega autist raiders all use ults to gear up faster with more variety.
Getting patch bis and getting raid ready gear are 2 completely different things bro bur I agree that farming bis is horrible until the weekly limit lock gets removed
You buy the maid attire and visit my house for 5 minutes to get a stack of potions
Hi are you on Crystal ^^?
>Or 30 seconds if you have a friend that can spare 2-3 million gil (even poorest poorgays can do that).
Why does everyone keep saying this.
I have reached Yanxia and only have 1 million, and I have bought absolutely nothing so far, saved every single gil. Dungeon gear can't be sold at all, any gear I have received that can be sold on the market only goes for pennies.
Where the frick do combat-only players make all that money?
>I have reached Yanxia and only have 1 million
yeah no shit Black person everyone is talking about post-MSQ
Roulettes give like 100k per day
Buy mats that are used for crafting raiding stuff like pots with the tomestones you get for free by running any content. Especially good during prog times.
No shit anonymous l, you’re not anywhere close to level 90 stuff that sells a lot but you sometimes get random stuff that you can sell for hundreds of thousands from your retailers.
endgame tomestone mats
unreal rewards and merc runs if you raid
drops from eureka, bozja, deep dungeons
selling treasure map materials or ex trial materials
even roulettes in need add up
>Where the frick do combat-only players make all that money?
Roulettes. You can earn a mil per week if you do all of them every day.
I would rather prostitute myself out at the Quicksand than do every roulette every day for a week.
>every day
more like every evening because that is the only time you’ll be able to do all the roulettes reasonably
Why?
I can gear up multiple jobs in two months in XI than XIV would allow me, simply because XIV engages in weekly limits on your active gear acquisition from the sole two sources (tomestones & raid drops). It's fricking dumb in XIV when it tries to hammer home the "You can play every job on the one character!" even more than XI ever did.
>would it kill someone to make an mmo with reasonable progression time?
it wouldn't be profitable
When the biggest Japslop mmo boomer that played shit like FFXI and worships YoshiP starts saying the game is shit and the patches are mid, things are dire
?si=0FTtMUsWp841VCp1
That raid is bad
>Idolizes Xenos, says his honesty is what convinced him that a vitriolic but honest personality could be successful
>Becomes as successful as Xenos by being the loud toxic asian raider man
>Xenos backtracks from his roots and pivots to the artificial wholesome chungus persona that every streamer has
>Only Arthars and Zepla are capable of retaining their integrity and criticizing the game
Zepla being hated by a significant portion of her troony fantasy community over Harry Potter and now criticising FFXIV will always be hilarious to me.
>Zepla
>integrity
>ever
Having the gall to call out all the shit that went wrong with the game is integrity
just when it becomes popular to do so? hmmmm.
Shitting on the game has never been popular in the community
it is EXTREMELY popular at the moment lmao. literally everywhere I look is "DAE FFXIV bad now, upvotes to the left good sirs"
Only on ffxivdiscussions.
mainsub isn't even 10% of the western playerbase, and dicksuctions isn't even 10% of that
>that one cringe homosexual who came back after two years to jump on the game is dying bandwagon
It’s so tiring seeing people post these shit takes on here
Which one?
Don’t remember his name, just that he deleted his character
>Only Arthars and Zepla are capable of retaining their integrity and criticizing the game
the second SE starts waving invites to try new shit out in front of their faces they will say the game was good and there was never any problem
Arthars has said repeatedly that he was bored out of his mind at fanfest and that Xenos literally fell asleep during the keynote. He explained that he isn't dooming too hard because historically the first keynote never reveals much, but if the second is just more of the same shit as ShB/EW then it's going to be scary
well theres nothing for them really to try out until the media tour hits a few months before the expansion comes out
Probably talking about some kind of different content than the usual shit we get.
>ecelebs
Are you underaged?
Zepla is just is sour graping the fact that she's too fricking moronic to do TOP, her DSR body drag with her throwing people out left and right because they couldn't carry her useless ass across the finish line until she solid low greyed the fight was proof she just couldn't do hard content. I think Arthars has legit criticism but lets be real about Zepla, shes just bitter.
>hardcore raider explains why he's disappointed with new casual content
when was the last time he wasn't disappointed
Bro its ok for XIV to not put in effort soken was diagnosed with cancer sweetie, Yoshida even cried on stage, if they don't want to give us raids like dun scaith or launch monastery then RESPECT. THEIR. WISHES. CHUD.
How do I become a ffxiv content creator? I'm gay furry btw
transition, fellate the game and the community, and start crying when npcs do stock emotes
>Transition
I hate trannies though.
Shadowbabs leaving will actually be beneficial for the game
The good news is that most shadowbabs are starting to wake up from their prolonged honeymoon phase. They were always the biggest wienersuckers who would sperg if anyone criticised this stale MMO.
>Criterion (not even criterion savage) requires more ilvl than the savage tier released in the same patch
>Even if it required the same or lower ilvl, it would not give you gear to help you transition into 8 man savage
Nice midcore content Yoshida.
They fricked up criterion so bad
Wow just like every Savage and Ultimate has for the past three expansions.
You can clear criterion in crafted gear
Criterion does not require raid gear, you skip mechs if you have it.
Min ilvl to queue up for Another Mount Rokkon is 640. Anabaseios' min ilvl is 630 for the first fight.
Yes, and? Criterion's min ilvl should match the gear of the latest dungeon, and should give gear that allows you to attempt savage (but is worse than crafted gear). That is if they want it to be midcore content.
savage min ilevel is a lie and always has been, if you're not at least in crafted you're trolling and will probably eat shit to raidwides
>savage min ilevel is a lie and always has been
Doesn't matter, what matters is the game's requirements. And even if we make it 640, it matches Rokkon's when it should be lower (if it's intended to be midcore).
Maybe. Doesn't stop people here from saying "why do people ask for more midcore content? We just got a criterion dungeon!"
And in my opinion it should have been that bridge between normal content and savage content. But that's just my opinion.
They never marketed criterion as "midcore" content
They marketed it as savage dungeons, savage for 4 people
THEY LITERALLY DID YOU LYING Black person
The promise was always that criterion dungeons would be "around the difficulty level of extreme trials".
Nah gotta keep the revisionism train going so we can pretend that there isn't a fricking mountain of random bullshit yoshitter lied about, fricking hell
Post proof
highly doubt i'll have the time to filter through all the relevant live letters before thread autosages but i'll catch you when i find it
I think it was around when they discussed the internal changes of the previously announced "criterion dungeons" into variant, criterion, criterion savage and the reward structure.
Check the pre-release LL. Theres one from October and another in November. I know one of those is also where Yoshida said PVP Series rewards would be available for purchase with the crystals after the series ended, yet we still haven't seen any of that.
Live letter Part LXXI, approx 51:05
"Criterion dungeons will have two difficulty tiers [...] The lower tier dungeon, Another Sil'dihn Subterrane, is equivalent to an "extreme" dungeon"
>Criterion is EX
>Savage is savage
How the frick did it turn into Savage and Savage+?
Laziness. Crit savage has no unique mechanics, it's just criterion with more limitations placed on you. Or more accurately, criterion has no unique mechanics, it's just savage with less limitations.
They cut out the extreme tier to test the waters, then when the playerbase ate the slop up they just kept the low effort design plan running.
I'm sorry but I have watched copious amount of anime so my Japanese is excellent and I didn't hear EKUSTRIIMU so I'll assume you made it up.
between this the P8S debacle and "TOP will be easier than DSR" I'm getting the feeling they don't have a good grasp on difficulty anymore
He didn't say TOP would be easier, that's a mistranslation. What he DID say is much more hilarious.
>We did not make [TOP] to be harder than DSR, it may be easier for some and harder for others but the goal wasn't to increase the challenge from DSR
>"the goal wasn't to increase the challenge from DSR"
>worst p1 in an ultimate
>extremely tight p4 dps check on patch
>p5 the hardest single phase in an ultimate
>every fricking mechanic is a body check
>so many random assignments that automarkers are fully accepted
GREAT JOB!!!
>extremely tight p4 dps check on patch
If you had the worst comp setup, sure, which prog groups didn't. Main issue was not realizing you could hold your second 2min in ph2 to then do two bursts in ph3, which allows holding some gauge/CDs along with LB3 for ph4 which greatly alleviates the DPS check.
*raises paw*
640 is normal mode raid gear, what's the problem?
>he doesn’t have 640 gear
You can buy that and if you’re poor you can make it yourself
>if you’re poor you can make it yourself
But it takes millions on millions of gil to get your crafters to that level in the first place
only if you're lazy
>not enough space in armory chest
>not enough space in retainer inventory
Skill issue
No it doesnt, gather the stuff yourself. Become a Omni crafter and never spend any money.
stuff you gathered/crafted could've been sold for millions
pretty much every GC delivery item is 80k+ on europe
leves pay for themselves
By the time criterion is released you will have 8 lockouts of normal mode and 8 weeks of tomestones in your pocket and prices of the crafted wont be that high anymore, minilvl for criterion is not a problem
The ilvl req is a suggestion for premade groups. It exists only for JP players to not embarass themselves when queueing with randoms.
Why are so many of you homosexuals think people care about what these streamers say? I legitimately never heard of these people for years until you homosexuals started to post them here.
Some of them have been around since at least HW days. don't know why people suddenly care about them when they've been consistently mocked until Asmomgone started to play.
Everything I learned about these streamers has been against my will. I do not care about what these people say no matter when they started.
Where do you think the sudden influx of players in 2018 came from? hint: it's the streamers and their fanboys
What influx? SB numbers were only marginally higher than HW until very late in 4.5 when SHB hype was in full swing and BfA was floundering.
Make them threads then ? Surely they will stay alive
We wowchads are actually playing our game, happily looking forward to 10.3.
>WoWchads
You're being too obvious with your bait, there it is an art form when done subtle.
>Guild prostitutes 2
>troonyflight
Yeah, no thanks
GW2 only has a good living world and mounts, the raids, fractals and strikes dry up quick. If you could somehow mix Guild Wars 2's open world setup with 14s endgame, you'd have a killer mmo.
Koreans ruined mmo map design
Tera was pretty fun, shame the endgame is shit
Frick that grindy ass +10ing armor system bullshit, I loved TERA until I pushed into upgrading gear for raids.
The target audience was always chimps lol, the "quests" were always trash, MMObrain is one hell of an illness
plot twist: the first group turned it into the second by making it a critical norm to play the right way. devs responded by making it impossible to play the wrong way.
Don’t tell that anon the truth, they don’t want to know that the “fun” got optimized out by older players.
lol, no. Dungeon spam was rarely a thing because they weren't instanced
Nvm he's actually shitting on the schizo video maker, we won
>yoshi p lost square 30% in revenue
is this true?
No but luminous certainly did
That was Tabata and Luminous
Barry just wants to pass the buck off his boyfriend
probably because of ff16?
I want Nomura to write the next raid series.
Not watching your video, shill. Gunna watch the goblin man watch it instead just so you don't get the views.
question
if they release classic plus for WOW
its pretty much over for every other mmo on the market right?
how does blizzard do it
when you say Classic + it'd be like oldschool classic or retail classic?
a epac for classic
like vanilla with more stuff to do
Yes, I play a fem Miqo'te
Yes, I use Mare
Yes, I have an extensive list of mods on Penumbra
Yes, I own a house
Yes, I spend all my time in-game ERPing
Yes, I am bored
No, I do not raid
No, I have no friends as everyone in my list are people I've ERP'd with once and never spoken to again
No, I do not like this game
No, I won't stop shitting on it on Ganker.org
No, I am not F+
>the Twelve have always been utterly useless and absent, their only point of relevance in the setting being that certain characters believe in them and have religious customs based on their worship
>any and all tales of their actions date back not to any known period of history but to some prehistoric mythic age
>an age that by ShB we know doesn't truly exist, the world of the Ancients came before, and then civilisation was fragmented across the Shards with the people's memories of the past nearly completely wiped, and then it was business as usual (the first astral era and on are not really PREhistory when the general populace has awareness of history being divided into astral and umbral eras, and up until the death of the final Paragons there were technically living souls who had lived through it all)
>phantom Amaurot and Elpis give us enough of a glimpse of Ancient culture to tell us that they had a concept of divinity (Athena wanted to become one) but didn't worship the Twelve
>okay so the Twelve aren't real, or they're completely useless creations of the Ancients, that's fine
>new Alliance series tells us they are real, actually (made by Hydaelyn)
>okay cool, now what?
>lol they want to die
>Thread is e-celb garbage
Don't worry anon, less than 20 hours until the kick off of fanfest.
I was a Eureka hater until 6.0. I forced myself to go through it for the glam but it ended up being some of my favorite content. If that shit gave exp I would have probably kept playing the game, at least for a while.
Eureka when you actually had to party up with people instead of mindlessly running fate trains is fantastic.
No, wow is even easier
I think you will like it
The only downside is your job kit being lvl 70
Eureka might seem overwhelming at first, loading you with information but don't worry we all felt that at first, just take it easy, do read and if you struggle get stuck just ask people in shout chat/ piss chat, Eureka is always populated.
Just go in there and use yell or shout to grt invites or invite others. Just do it, it's what I did.
Just do the content lmao. the only thing that is discordshit is BA and DRS.
Fallguys collab release tomorrow? I'm going to sit in the Golden Saucer when that shit releases.
Anon. Why do you think they would release it tomorrow? Did you just start playing?
I'm just asking, any time frame on the release? I know it's limited edition, like the DragonQuest and FFXV collab/ crossover rather than the MonsterHunter crossover.
It'll be on one of the patches. Fanfest will likely say when but my personal guess is .55.
January with .55 at the earliest, probably in .58 to keep people subbed during pre-expac lull
>222 / 29 / 63
This shit is embarrassing. Wowhomosexuals please go back to your dead troony game and stop letting xiv live rent free in your heads.
based NPD "atheist" transgender ff14 player
>NPD "atheist" transgender
But enough about you, what about the post you replied to?
>no you
your game will be more dead
once they announce classic plus at blizzcon
by enjoying the game. but I am constantly going back and forth between "there's so much I want to do" and "I should cancel my sub until Dawntrail"
In return, boss mechanics get harder and more interesting though if you want to be reductive you can still say it’s all STAND AND LET THING RESOLVE (lol)
lewd. lalas.
i wonder how hard the playerbase would dip if they actually banned mods/plugins
I wonder if AI
could be used for a anti cheat to detect mods
huh is that even possible?
ERP would die overnight and raid pf's would go down to like a quarter of what they are currently
oof
1/3 adventure plates I read all say {Mare Lamentorum}
>guy who doesn't play the game reacted to the guy who stopped playing in ShB
They're one and the same.
crazy how dead the game is
I've never played Final Fantasy before but I want to try the free trial. I hear the free trial is the base game + a few expansions.
Is that a lot of content? Is it solo friendly? Do I have to play the Playstation games to understand what the frick is going on?
Don't play FFXIV. Play the single-player games. They're actually worth playing.
No, just play the game and you can easily get thousands of hours of content now that you can do eureka
Just install it and try it for a few levels. If you aren't enjoying it early on, quit, since it won't get better.

>Happy holidays, here's a piece of furnishing that 90% of the playerbase can't use.
Why are they like this?
You don't have 500K gil for an appartment?
You're under the illusion we're developers of FFXIV.
No I'm not. I didn't say that. If you read that and that's what you came away with, you're insecure as frick. Hiding your reply. I don't like you. You produce nothing worth reading.
>Filtered with a single sentence
Absolutely mind broke him.
what cope, Barry?
I probably spend more time thinking about healer job design than the developers do.
Spend more time, this is fricking stupid.
in what way? the potencies aren't definite but it made sense to give CNJ/WHM a water spell which provides low-level AoE and provides some utility at all levels.
damage isn't utility
I think I’ve remade the entire MNK job 5 times in my head since EW came out
I've built up and scrapped at least 20 reworks to different jobs (mostly healers) over the years. Eventually I just accepted that it will never get better and SE just refuses to use what they have.
So are you imagining these as spells or abilities? Cast 1 (singletarget low power spell) to upgrade the next cast to 2 (AoE high power spell, with a debuffing effect at high levels?)
exactly, or you can cast the high power spell after using Esuna.
you'd only be casting it every 15s, so it's more like 2-2-1-1-1-1. there's no point in making a more convoluted system for WHM.
Ah yes, all this time and effort for a 1-2-1-2-1-2 DPS rotation with 'upgraded' versions.
Better than what we have now
TBD
TOTAL BIGGER DEATH
Alright wrap the thread up guys, the homosexual attention prostitutes from /xivg/ finally found the thread and are posting their generic copy pasted "OC's" for attention.
i wonder if some weird scenario
Microsoft buys SE
and they do cross over events with Warcraft
the shit posting will never stop
Well, microsoft and SE are now openly collaborating with the upcoming xbox release. So yoshida's dream blizzard crossovers are getting closer and closer to reality already.
Good evening everyone I wish eternal pain and suffering to whoever thought LNC would be fun to play whenever my DRG gets synced down to low level content.
They weren't in Summer 2021 though
Yes they were and they still are.
No they weren't. FFXIV threads were literally surrogate chatrooms for his FFXIV streams. Still, nothing was funnier than /wowg/ turning into a temporary XIV general for a couple of months
You like ecelebs I do not, the line is drawn. Now pay your due, donate your minimum wage earnings to your multimillionaire "friend" and frick off.
I do not and I'm not giving anyone money. I am just saying that you are wrong. Everybody likes to act like they hate e-celebs, but when a popular e-celeb is sucking off the thing they like, then they start sucking off the e-celeb in return.
Yesh, you like ecelebs so go suck them off, meanwhile we'll get back to talking about the game and the Fanfest tomorrow.
No I do not, I was just calling out your incorrect post.
y-you mock me? I will d-donobomb my fave streamer and wait for him to notice me and maybe misspronounce my username so I can feel validated! What do you have, huh? Do you have an online celebrity who forms an opinion for you to copy about a form of media you'll never experience? Hah! I thought so... seethe
Painfully accurate, just look at this thread for example.
can other players see my modded horse wiener if they play with no mods?
no?
sad, I hoped to chase people and swing with my horse wiener in front of them
Yes anon the game supports you forcibly broadcasting gigabytes of custom content to thousands of other people.
>mare unironically does this
shit is a virus waiting to happen
Didn’t this happen already some time ago? I vaguely remember some troony flipping their shit once and updating their mod with some sort of malware.
it was gshade, some dude's "personal version" of reshade that accumulated a large community around it. then some 16 year old thought it was filled with bloat, created a way to take most of gshade's shit and put it on regular reshade, and the creator of gshade flipped out, put in malware that prevented alteration and tried to detect for if anything would swipe or interfere with it, and took a personal crusade against the guy who pissed him off.
everyone abandoned gshade thereafter.
I play completely vanilla so I don't know how it's implemented exactly, but making a system that allows you to distribute your mods to others sounds like you could very easily delete all their gear and shit for fun
your gear, character data and everything is stored on the server to the account, so you can't afflict anyone maliciously in that sort of way. but Mare does let you straight up download all of someone's Penumbra mods they have going -- including any paid mods they idiotically are running with Mare active, and any weird fricking shit that could potentially get slipped into mods. you have to get someone's Mare code to actually see and get their upload but it's one walking breach of service that is waiting for an incident, especially with how many morons openly post their Mare codes in their adventurer plates.
yes, complete with physics
Don't listen to what other people say, they're just trying to frick with you. Other people will be able to see it. Don't use mods outside of private instances or you'll get reported and banned.
Alright, then I will go all out
Why do the people that want a hardcore grinding and raiding MMO play FF?
Wildstar was a hardcore raidgay MMO and I myself, find raidhomosexualry the least interesting part of MMOs
i remember not a lot of people being able to raid in this game because every other step of the atunement was fricked
Because homosexuals are stupid like this
stupid homosexual

I'm glad it's fine to shit on the WOWtuber grifters again. I don't even care about WoW, I mean, FF XIV itself is heavily inspired by it, and I'm have like a billion hours in WCIII so Warcraft has a special place in my heart. I hate both the WOWtubers and the XIVtubers.

MMO Design was perfected 20 years ago. It's time for you to come home.
>time wasting maze
Every zone has its own music.
Every map has its own monsters and drops, with something good to obtain.
There are no spawn zones, monsters spawn and roam freely. No "mobs run back home if they chase you too far".
It's not a time wasting maze, it's an organic multi level dungeon that's 100% content, no quests.
This might surprise you anon, but dungeons weren't meant to be spammed daily in old MMOs.
So what's the point of having them in an mmo? Just do them once and then you stop playing?
Hell, loot drama was partly a thing because there'd be people ready to poach a boss or rare fight.
>what's the point of having them in an mmo?
Does the elevation affect the gameplay any though, or is it strictly just aesthetic?
Purely aesthetic. Mind you, this game was designed to run smoothly on old 90s computers but still manages to be beautiful regardless.
There are only a few types of tiles in this game.
>normal walkable tiles
>water tiles, in which certain skills can be used, such as Water Ball and Aqua Benedicta
>non-walkable tiles, which could be walls or even the dark areas of the map
>snipable tiles, which are not walkable but you can shoot across them
Elevation in this game, depending on the map, is treated as a snipable tile. Meaning you can shoot down or up over a ledge. You can see a lot of this on the early Payon Forest and Sograt Desert maps, WoE maps and such.
>literally no content for the next 8 months
How do they expect to get away with this?
Half my FC is already not playing anymore.
first mmo end of expansion cycle?
They do it literally every expansion
You go play something else
we take estrogen and pretend everything is fine
I always wonder why there isn’t 3 ultimates per expansion since they are a good way to keep engagement (the extreme to savage to ultimate pipeline)
You WILL burn yourself out by X.3.
they're intense to design and done by a low percentage of the playerbase. they might be the most important content in the game to hardcore players but they are not the dev team's priority. maybe if they got more resources it could happen, but yoshi-p runs a tight ship, that's why he's so successful.
also 3 ults would probably make raiders burn out lol. dsr to abyssos to top was bleak
>raiders complain about too much content in 6.3
>now complain about too little content in 6.5
What do they want?
It wouldn't be as bad if they didn't make the hardest ultimate ever and then accidentally make a harder one
Next patch is in 2 months troony. They're adding the Fall Guys event in less than a month.
I’m stop being lazy and finally level up m crafters to 90
He mostly disagreed with the video though, or agreed and said "but this is a problem in every other MMO too".
>Okaymage is stalling as much as possible because she knows the MSQ gravy train will end soon
>Repeats the same few phrases ad nauseam to the point you could just replace her with an AI bot using voice clips and nothing would change.
>Manages to finish two quests. Rest of the stream is about food talk.
Wow.
>NO YOU NEED TO LISTEN TO MY OPINION ABOUT XIV LE BAD I AM THE MOST IMPORTANT ECELEB EVER YOU CAN'T DISCARD ME FOR ANOTHER ECELE-ACK!!!

Some gay I had to google. As the #ad tells you, he was paid to play it and has no interest in it.
mad wowtroons
Call me when he gets to titan
It's possible he actually likes it. For some reason a lot of my POE guild plays FF14 even though the games are absolute polar opposites.
Yeah he looks thrilled
Alright lads, I'm off to play some Cyberpunk it's pissing down with rain here in merry ole England and I want to have a fresh mind for the morning of Fanfest, for the next two-three days dedicated to Fanfest and FFXIV.
So you lads in London.
*see you lads in London
I am eternally disappointed that we didn't get a single (female) Goddess to grow to a gigantic size during this raid. Even just one instance to spurn the asiatics into drawing FOTM giantess art would have been nice. What a complete and total disappointment this Alliance Raid has been.
How are you liking the revamped systems? Melee builds are ridiculously fun to play now (especially katana), same with Sandevistan builds. Fully Body is fun too, you can pop enemies heads like grapes.
anons, can you suggest a super hot biofem streamer I can donobomb to say my name as I jerk off to while watching her playing with her female character, fantasizing that I'm banging them both?
>hot biofem streamer
HAH! Good one!
Are we getting the full Dawntrail trailer today or what
No, just maybe a slightly extended version. We will be finding out the first of the new jobs though.
Most likely find out what the job the wol is
transs
CNJ BROS, IT'S OUR TURN.
we are getting the extended version of the teaser trailer with some new scenes and maybe clearer vocals in the song
Unreal Alliance Raids when? Seems like such an easy fricking way to squeeze more fun out of old content
>Orbonne Monastery Unreal
Were you expecting a modicum of rust?
I've been saying since they added it that they should do unreal savage on odd patches
They should rotate between unreals every month, alternating between ex trials and savage raids each time. There's legitimately no reason for it to take as long as it does other than >lol patch cycle, it takes 0 effort to put one out. It's just changing numbers.
They should just have a set of Unreal ARs, Extreme and Raids on a monthly basis.
You'll still have to find 23 other people willing to do it. It would be great if they added mechanics instead of unnerfing it. Probably both ides would be great. Max level cap + new mechanics
I'd almost prefer that rather than it being 24man content, it'd be 12-man, three parties of 4.
DRS BA?
>I get to make this a macro now
Thanks Yoshi, sometimes you're alright.

Doing just fine, i quit 6-7 months ago, the only thing i miss is some of my old bnuy friends.
Wait, he's saying you can't even use an Excel file? lol
No, this was around when people were getting banned for streaming with dps meters visible. There was a huge disingenuous shitstorm about "uhhh is a calculator a 3rd party tool then? is discord a 3rd party tool?" so he brought this up to tell people to stop being moronic because they know exactly what it means and if they keep being Black folk then a banwave would happen (it got worse and a banwave never actually happened so as usual yoshida lied)
>put enrages on every fight
>wonder why people care about visually being able to see their output
dungeons in ffxiv is just modern day matchmaking
wow dude.... thats like deep and stuff.... you figured it all out bro.....
and matchmaking is a hooker
one and done, no thoughts, no conversation to be had, you do your shit, shoot your load all over the dungeon and you're out
Yes. Yoshi-P himself said that they make dungeons linear snoozefest because players would just optimise the fastest path and shit on players who do anything else. The irony is that it is all a self-made problem
