It's passable. My big gripe is that combat needs to feel more varied and different gangs and types of enemies you fight should feel more distinct from each other and the maps needed way more size and variation in potential approaches. Allegedly that's something they're doing in the expansion but we'll see.
the yellow chairs have convinced that the turd they all gave 9s out of 10 to was polished enough in 2 years to see glints of gold in it so that they can try to repair their tarnished reputations after peddling this dogshit game

Yeah but why did it save it ? If the game was shit the anime wouldn't have saved it. It just made people who weren't interested in it aware of its existence. They played it, they liked it, talked about it to their friends, they played it too, etc.
Anon, the game had sold 20+ million before the anime was released. People that say that the anime saved it are moronic. >e-celebs are moronic
I am not surprised.
Ganker isn't wrong that the game was a buggy mess and isn't remotely what was shown in trailers or what CDPR promised
Luckily I fricking called that all those videos were just rendered mockups and I was expecting a janky bethesda knockoff, which is exactly what I got and I enjoyed it
Devs should not be rewarded for making a shitty game
Devs should not be praised for finishing games after launch
Devs should not be encouraged to do "comeback stories" out of buggy messes, they should not have delivered the game in the state it was in in the first place
Devs should do their fricking job and release the complete game from the start
Giving continued support and patching the games should be an expectation; if the product they sold is broken then it's their job to fix it
CDPR doesn't deserve accolades just because they delivered on what they promised
CP2077 never delivered on the promises anyway
I'd much rather have a good game two years after launch then have something be dogshit forever. That's a massive waste and how you end up with "untouchable" genres that stay dead for a decade. No ones telling you to pay full price, you shouldn't, you should view everything CDPR does with skepticism after their initial frick ups. But if they stick to it and the game becomes something worthwhile and worth the cost why the frick isn't that worth it?
this would be my thought but the devs of cyberpunk at least the twitter friendly ones. dont have A SHRED of shame for what they delivered.

>a good game two years after
It's a game that was improved after release, but it's not a good game. But that's not the point.
If you keep praising companies for making the game what it should be on launch, telling people to buy it because they spent the time to make the game what it should've been in the first place, you're encouraging publishers to keep releasing unfinished games and then getting a second wave of sales after patching it. Even if it was patched into being the best game ever made, the devs and publishers absolutely do not deserve the money because they tricked people into buying unfinished shit.
I understand what you're saying, I agree that supporting a game after release is important, I'd agree with your points, but I believe that this should only be praised if the game is not a complete broken buggy mess on release. NMS and CP2077 should never had released in the state they did.
You wouldn't buy a TV that displays the HDMI port input in a 4:3 aspect ratio and then praise the manufacturer to high heavens for issuing an update 3 years later that makes the TV display things properly, why treat game devs differently?
Its an enjoyable game. I'd say I've gotten more than my moneys worth from it.
Only buying a game once its actually playable isnt supporting releasing unfinished games. They didnt have my money until they finished patching things to an acceptable level and even then only at a large discount. How is getting less money over a long period if time an incentive to a company?
The situation you're scared of isnt being encouraged. The only thing being encouraged is finishing their shit
>It's a game that was improved after release, but it's not a good game
I disagree with this. It was improved, it is a good game but it is not what cdpr said it was. Cdpr straight up lied.
I appreciate them continuing to work on the game- it changes the lesson I take from "never buy games from this company" to "wait to buy games from this company."
There is a pretty glaring problem though, and lays it out, though a bit too hyperbolic for my taste.
The game is simply poorly crafted. I played on release and again after the most recent major patch. My issues- >The story is still nonsensical. Why did they choose the "you're gonna die soooon~" narrative framing when it undermined 90% of content in the game? >Keanu takes more away from the story than he adds by a large margin. >Interactions with police are pointless and annoying- they essentially serve as punishment for experimentation. Nothing you do that would summon them carries an extrinsic reward, and defeating them carries no extrinsic reward. >Poorly thought out skills system with bad balancing. Need to intentionally avoid quickhacks lest I become the angel of death too early. >Aesthetics are frequently ugly, and not in a "whoah cyberpunk" way. Would a GiTS game be this hideous? Would a Shadowrun game have this many ugly outfits? I don't think so.
>You exude alot of SDE

IMO the bigger issue is that you trigger them more often from things like poor driving controls than actually doing meaningful crimes. >have option to carjack people >don't know if it triggers cops because i never used it once
What you call flawed is exactly what the people want. Cyberslop is exactly the type of game that gamers want, the only problem is that it was quite literally unplayable.
Looter shoot in a deep dark twisted world of drugs and wacky chungus keanu reeves is exactly what gamers want.
>What you call flawed is exactly what the people want.
Ubisoft games almost unanimously get shit on, despite being the same boring empty open worlds with the same boring combat and the same boring "RPG" mechanics tacked on. At least the french leaves can shit out a functioning game.
>Ubisoft games almost unanimously get shit on
On Ganker and no longer for the right reason anymore because newbies are moronic and just parrot shit without understanding it. Ganker started hating on ubisoft because they were turbo israelites, pumping out dogshit quality sequels of previously well received titles, filled to the brim with micro transactions and DRM. There is nothing inherently wrong with the fundamentals of the open world system Ubisoft uses. That system coupled with good movement and a real sense of progression and half a damn given to the story has no reason not to be a GOAT.
Bitches crying about "Ubisoft Towers" is one of the easiest ways to tell someone is a moron with no idea what they're talking about.
I hate looter shooters but this is the only one I managed to finish before getting bored to death.
I still prefer they would drop this Borderlands meets GTA shit, and made it a series of missions with a hub lie DX Mankind divided.
Thank you my guy. The shills never shut up about these irredeemable shitheaps somehow being 'good' now because basebuilding was added or the game was slightly optimized. If the game is shit it is still going to be shit.
yeah but i figure now with all these updates and overhauls (and probably fixes to the overhaul) it will at least be worth a playthrough, waitchads win again
Or it's just going to do what No Man Sky and Fallout 76 did and just backpedal on intended game design, leaving the glaringly obvious skeleton of a game they want you to pretend doesn't exist.
you are the reason this game "sucks". stop playing on your console-box or 2000AD "computer" and expecting things to work as intended. i played the game from one end to another and never once encountered any t-pose and overall just once encounterd a bug (a car spawned on top of another car).

I'm not going to act like I've got a Pentagon Super Computer on my desk but with 1660 Super and an Intel i9, I still often have little goofs during cutscenes, and that issue with the first cutscene many others have, although that's apparently the result of a single setting.
I thought it was pretty boring and the worst interpretation of the Cyberpunk aesthetic ever. I doubt a DLC will fix the problems that game has. Man frick this shit. I like Cyberpunk I guess but it fails both as an RPG and as an open-world adventure. It really should have been a linear shooter instead.
i just wish it was more gritty. a lot of the characters are cheesy frickin stereotypes. this is what happens when you let Polish desk jockey nerd kids who've lived in safety bubbles try to create "dangerous" American urban environments. the writing wasn't smart, the motivation from the get go is hamfisted shit because the writers couldn't come up with any motivation for the protagonist. half the frickin women characters/npcs in the game no matter what they look like have the same ghetto Black person woman voice
The expansion better let me duel wield pistols. Like what the frick they feature Jackie doing it and there are several enemies you fight during Gigs who also go guns akimbo.
This game never had a comeback.
Ever since No Man Sky, everyone wants to pretend every piece of shit launch is gonna have some miraculous comeback story. Same shit happened to Fallout 76.
The game will never be a real Cyberpunk experience unless they add people who use body modifications and augmentations to turn themselves into their fursonas. The fact that there are zero furries in the game proves that this game was made by cowards and hacks.
I'm waiting for Phantom Liberty to drop before i play Cyberpunk 2077, yep i still haven't complete it or even gotten far in the story. I still have it installed in my library, but i want to wait until it's more fleshed out so it's the better experience.

COMPLETELY MISLEADING
its so fricked that they tried to weaponize trigger's actually good work
They really knew how to ride the success wave of the anime. The edgerunners themed update plus a convenient game discount made the public opinion about cyberpunk do a complete 180.

>The comeback
Why are people desperate to force this No Man's Sky narrative for every fricking shit game.
The gameplay was stripped down from what was envisioned and the backgrounds are intro cutscene and like three skill dialogue choices spread through the game tier
I can't wait to experience the thrilling police chases in my buggy mess of a game. Maybe I'll get chased down by a T-posing Maxtac who then slides around on the floor after I run him over with my rocket launching Akira bike. So immersive.
And perks that actually do something? You mean I might have a reason to level up now instead of just getting worthless stat boosts? riveting. I bet the new skills will be just as unbalanced and nonsensical as the old ones.
A new skill tree? Thank god, the old ones were so deep and complex I just couldn't handle it. Maybe this one will give me exciting new abilities like "walk slightly faster" or "reload 0.5 sec faster".
Rebalanced difficulty? Interesting. I wonder if this means enemies might actually provide decent combat now instead of just being walking targets or one-shotting me. If so what a concept.
More enemy variety! I can't wait to fight the exact same 5 clones of gang members reskinned in different outfits.
First person cyberware installs, frick yes! Nothing is more thrilling than watching a 10 second canned animation for the 500th time.
Attuning cyberware, wow what an innovative idea! I'm sure that won't just boil down to "put all your points in cool/reflex/whatever for the best build"
Vehicle combat, truly next-gen stuff here. I apologize for ever doubting CDPR, they are visionaries.
Infinity repeatable quests, just what I wanted! Can't wait to do the exact same shit over and over, because the game didn't already have enough of that.
What an embarrassment. Do you really think adding in basic shit that should have been in the game to begin with is gonna make up for what an epic, historic disappointment this game is? Nice try though CDPR, maybe in another year or two you'll release a patch to finally make this mediocrity playable.
25 minutes just to say the anime with the e-girl saved it

Apparently then new DLC reworks the existing game in a whole new overhaul. Looks promising
but will the new area - DogTown - be in a seperate map, like they did for Withcer 3 DLC, or is it just part of Nightcity?
Just as with No Man's Sky, this game is fundamentally flawed and shit regardless of being an unfinished bug mess.

The gameplay was stripped down from what was envisioned and the backgrounds are intro cutscene and like three skill dialogue choices spread through the game tier
For an additional 30 bucks. Frick you, pollacks.
